Ess: Thanks, my other question refers; if asked what do you do? Can I tell them that I'm serving but have my permit.

@Tzetzefly Im confused whether there is policy which does not allow corpers to travel abroad.
Yes you should tell them you are serving and you have taken permission to travel, or if your trip is like 4 months away or more you can say you will take permission from your lgi if you get the visa. If you are a teacher, make sure u plan to travel during the holidays. That's what my friend told me he did, can't be too sure.

Phema has answered your second question perfectly.

Ess: How can a person undergoing his NYSC present his/herself at the interview when asked ''what do you do?''

Does undergoing NYSC prohibit a person to travel out? if no;
How do you get a permission letter from NYSC to travel abroad?
Ask your employer and/or LGI. They may or may not give you. Plus the letter might not be checked.

skimmeh1: even at that, she can not fly with that passport which the visa was approved in. The Airlines also stick to these principle as part of flight condition. So advice your sister to go get her passport re-issued.
She got another passport before travelling... This happened january.
But I think the person who asked said next year 2015? That's like a year?
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by blessedfavoured: 12:28pm On Aug 29, 2014
Phema: tzetzefly is actually correct. Your sister's case might just be a lucky exception. Most people who tried applying with passports with less than 6 months validity were refused visas and told to go get another passport.
Oh wow, she's really lucky then. I should have added this was early this year like January.
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by blessedfavoured:
tzetzefly: A passport must be valid for travel to the United States with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States.

Go for a re-issuance of your travel document.
Not to be disrespectful to u tzetzefly in any way but my sister got a f1 visa with less than 6months validity on her passport. And she was given two years. The NIS people wouldn't even issue a passport that's not expiring in less than 6months

Edit: i was wrong, my sister was just lucky.

Rachii: Yes Gt MasterCard and Diamond International VISA debit both work on UK machines.
Pls ensure that the diamond card is their INTERNATIONAL debit card, cos there are two diff cards. The Diamond Visa only pays locally that is just here in Nija.

The last time I used my diamond card out side Nigeria, the charged 240 per withdrawal don't kn for GT.
Thank you so much. Yes it's the international Visa card. I guess diamond is way cheaper than gtb then.

Oh forgot to add.. I've used Asantee papaya, it was just meh. Reduced my breakouts significantly but made my face ashy and dry at first but one hour after my face looks like a grease pan.
Goat milk and tamarind sounds good. Might try it. I hope i find a shop that sells individual and not the pack of six just incase i dont like it.
Can u recommend any shop please @greenfriend
FashionRe: Reviews Of The Best Skin Lightening Products You Have Ever Used. by blessedfavoured: 2:51pm On Aug 18, 2014
Greenfriend: demmyluv90, get Carotein lightening & fading gel cream. U can also get the Carotein serum (the original is scarce for now though I haven't contacted the distributor for some time) or White Express 5 days serum for faster effect. U need 2 be patient
blessedfavoured, Cod Liver Oil capsules is golden when it comes 2 recurrent pimples. U can add Asantee Tamarind & Goat Milk soap to ur regime. It will help in combating the break-outs/pimples and exfoliating U as a cheaper alternative to the costly Amlactin
Lindx93, though we have discussed ur question on Whatsapp, for the benefit of those reading here, I could help buy the real Kojie san soap (as part of my group order) for N1000. Sebamed Suncare SPF30 is a smart sunblock
3sha4lyf, pls, Carotein NEVER makes/made products containing Kojic acid
Chinny702, get Carotein Lightening & Fading Gel Cream (not the Intensive Toning Gel pls). QEI+ never endorsed or authorized the manufacturing of all these shower creams (liquid soaps or baths) bearing their trademark. Google their site: www.qeiplusparis.com to confirm what I said
Weird thing is i was reading up on cod liver oil yesterday. Was considering taking it. But the vitamin a is it safe? Read mixed reports about it.
But then again, i just started zinc 30mg, vitamin c 1000mg with rosehips and bioflavonoid time released and vitamin e 400iu.
I intend to give 3 months. Hopefully it works.
Thanks greenfriend.

demmyluv90: Greenfriend, 3sha4lyf, buttergrey, all of u, I need ur help o, my face is 4 times darker than the rest of my body, my hand and laps are white, and it bothers me a lot, please, I need any mixture that can lighten me within at least one week, please help me. Thank you in advance.
Here I was thinking i was d only one with the darker face problem. Looks like they just placed my face on my neck. Learning to live with it sha. It started after i used bp for my acne.
But throw that one week thing out of the window, except you plan to use steriods. I dont think any natural and safe lightening cream will lighten you four shades in a week.

U can try exfoliating with la lotion at 5%-8% i currently mix my amlactin with jergens on my face but the jergens is making me breakout like crazy!! But my face is a teeny bit brighter. So now I'm thinking of mixing the lactic acid with my body shop tea tree wash to use am&pm and try the carotein fade cream 3sha4lyf recommended.

My only problem with carotein is that I might have to use it forever??

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by blessedfavoured: 10:47am On Aug 06, 2014
Vicjustice: It is not clear what you actually meant when you said "one of his names in his bc and passports had A wrong spelling", did you mean that both documents have same spelling howbeit wrong, or that both have different wrong spellings?
If the birth certificate has a wrong spelling, it should have been corrected before applying for a passport with it, but for the fact that you proceeded to get his passport with the very name that you knew was wrongly spelled, that is questionable.
Anyway, if there is no cause for suspicion (especially as he is just a kid), the visa officer can overlook that (but s/he may make a remark on the visa if issued).
I don't think the sworn affidavit is relevant now, you can add a note on the additional information box: But in future, you might want to make corrections in the birth certificate first, and then in the passport.
These are my opinions, they are not the official positions
Yes i do understand that, both documents have the same wrong spelling. He used to live with our grandparents and they were the ones who made the mistake on both bc and passport. When he went to get his passport renewed the told my grandmother they couldn't change the name, and she just accepted.
I guess we'll just hope for the best at this point.
Thank you vicjustice.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by blessedfavoured: 9:21am On Aug 06, 2014
Hello everyone,
I filled an application online for my cousin. He's only 10. I just realised one of his names in his bc and passports had a wrong spelling. Say they put Robelt on the passports and BC instead of Robert. We filled the forms with the real spelling. But I'm thinking we should have put Robelt.

Is there anything we can do to correct it?
Like a sworn affidavit or something?
Thank you for your help

VisaOfficer: Nairalanders, help your VO out here... What does it mean when someone says he has a "school daughter"?
It's a practice common in boarding schools. The school mommies and daddies are your seniors (like students in higher classes) while the school daughters or school sons are the juniors.

They usually help you avoid getting punished when you get into trouble with other seniors.
Basically making boarding school bearable.
Also helping you eat your provisions LOL.

I hope you get the picture. Couldn't find a better way to explain it. Lol.
TravelRe: Am About To Travel. I Need That Reede Before Heading To MMA by blessedfavoured: 3:35pm On Jul 16, 2014
Yes I guess its because antibiotics are prescription only, and taking antibiotics for every illness like most nigerians do, does more harm than good.
TravelRe: Am About To Travel. I Need That Reede Before Heading To MMA by blessedfavoured: 11:25am On Jul 16, 2014
Please for your own good do not take those antibiotics along. I read on here about someone who was sent back because of antibiotics (cannot tell if its a lie or not). Take ur dose of anti malaria and antibiotics before you leave Nigeria. U cannot get malaria abroad, if you'll need antibiotics you can be prescribed one.

Looks like most colleges ( at least the ones I've checked) have changed their refund policy.
I only just noticed niagara college will only refund (international fees/ domestic fees) x 500cad, and that's about 1100cad.. That's if you get your visa. And they don't transfer funds to other institutions.

So guys if u plan to change schools when you get to canada, please read the refund policy to avoid stories that touch.

✌️

kinnkw: Good evening house.
I have decided to go ahead to pay and apply for Trv with my conestoga admission, with hopes to transfer to Sait if I finally get admitted to the program i want for winter. This is to allow for Cic processing time.

I have also decided to go through the online route as i hear it is faster.
Please I will like to P.M anyone who got Trv though the online route, I have a few detailed questions to ask.

In addition I would like to know the Total processing time frame?, if I can use two sponsors while applying through the online route?
Did you provide a statement of purpose?
Did you provide a police report?
I know all these are provided in the paper route becos I worked with my older brother on his application 2yrs backs but i need t learn from someone who has the online experience.

Please I need information from anyone.
Thank you
Hi i just wanted to tell you to check conestoga's refund policy very very well. Refund takes 4-6 weeks. So if u plan to transfer the tuition to another school, (sait) that might not work.

Lovelydamsel have u done biometrics already?
What if u fill another form and pay another visa fee altogether. ( waste of money i know). You don't want to be caught telling a lie on a visa application form, though i still feel they would have access to the information. And if you are called to ask why, you can tell that you noticed the mistake and thought to rectify it. I'm not sure it works that way tho.

Like you won't attend the biometric appointment for the wrong application you already submitted.

Not sure if this even makes sense since I've never submitted an application myself. Maybe people who've applied before can correct me if I'm wrong.

my sis intvw transcript: Lagos Embassy 8 30 am
i've been a silent follower of this thread for ages.. and i made her read about ten interview transcript on nairaland yesterday.
she's 17 going for undergraduate

vo: morning
her: morning
vo: i see you are going to university of ....
her: yes
vo; to study
her: mol biology and physio
vo; how many schools did u apply to
her: do u mean in general or just in the us
vo: im only interested in the us
her: 4 schools named them different states
vo: why mol biology
her: i hope to work in the med field as a neurophysiologist in the future
vo: oh wow neurophysiology good. when did u finish high school?
her: july 2013
vo: what have u been doing since
her: i took the sats and toefl
vo; oh great pass ur sat score card stared at it for a long time... where do ur parents live?
her: my dad lives here inlagos nigeria and my mum in the us
vo: oh where in the us does ur mum live?
her: different state from where her school is infact very far
vo: who's paying for ur education
her: my dad
vo: what does he do?
her: said it
vo: pick up ur visa at bla bla bla... and then she said be good and stay in school shocked
her: smile thank you have a great day

it was a miracle in short.. my mum lives there.. we were refused a visiting visa to the us in 2011 but we never even bothered to try again but did other trips. we were actually expecting a refusal tbh with my mum being there and the first refusal even though we had good travel history.
and she wrote it in that refusal box that she feels she was refused the last time because her mum lives in the us.
it was God in short

oh i forgot to add she said it was one Vietnamese/chinese woman in window 5 that interviewed her and she refused like 6 people before her.
