Hello car gurus in the house, I finally fixed back my car thermostat last week due to my car excess fuel consumption, and these are my observation from the one week i have driven it.

I'm the only one in the whole wide world that fixed back his car thermostat and didn't noticed a single difference in fuel consumption, my MPG still remained the same, at first it dropped slightly then it later got to almost exactly where it previously was, only once it showed a 0.2 difference, and right now it's the same previous MPG. Every topic i have seen here on nairaland and on Facebook, those that fixed back their car thermostat got a huge improvement regarding their car fuel consumption, except me.

Although the code P0128 refused to clear off after fixing back my thermostat, I have cleared it severally with my scanner but the exact second i check back it's still there, it's registered as a permanent code. However, the thermostat fixing worked 100% because my fan no longer comes on immediately i start the car, also my car gets hot quickly to the temperature that it's supposed to, under 10 minutes it's already at 88°C and the temperature guage is already at the middle, but the problem of fuel consumption didn't changed a bit, not even slightly. My LTFT is still 39.8, my car is still dumping and wasting 39.8% of every fuel that i buy and input on the car, as seen on the live data and as 100% confirmed by grok and Gemini. My LTFT have been displaying 39.8 more than a year now since i bought and have been driving the car. Two days ago i bought 5k fuel at 1,375 naira per liter, i resetted my trip B immediately before driving out of the filling station, my car stopped at the middle of the road later and i check my trip B miles and it was 4.67 miles. I took gallon from my car boot and put on my traffigator light, i went to the nearest filling station and bought another 5k fuel, i started the car and drove home feeling so down.

I'm so sad and devastated, in the past 2 months, my car have stopped on the middle of the road more than 12 times and counting due to low fuel and my car using fuels excessively, each time it's been an embarrassing moment for me. I really don't know what to do next, I'm really so devastated.

Even though the other code P0171 is still there i expected the thermostat fix to at least help in some way regarding the excessive fuel consumption, as every single mechanic i have taken my car to didn't even understand what a lean condition is they don't even know how to go about it in searching for leaks and having it fixed, not even one single mechanic over here in Delta, not even just one single mechanic over here knows about it or what it does to a car, nor do they know how to have it sorted out.

Same here boss, same here. 6 day's ago i bought 8k fuel before hitting the road to work, while returning back from work my fuel finished and my car stopped in the middle of the road. I was so embarrassed, i put on my traffigator light immediately and took gallon from my boot to buy fuel.

In a space of 4 days i have bought 32k fuel total.

I did my calculation two nights ago, if i had used public transport to work, In a space of those days i would have spent just 7500

I also recalled earlier this month when my fuel finished on the middle of the road, i have no money on me, zero in my account, i called everyone i could but no one could help, my sister was my God that day, if not it would have been hell for me.

Aside all of these, my car is a fuel guzzler... By the way boss, what car are you using? Does it consumes excess fuel like mine?

The only thing I can I think of that can make you money while you sleep is FOREX/CRYPTO Trading using a good trading bot. Other things mentioned still need your input from time to time.

As a Youtuber, you need to be posting steady if you want to maintain traffic.
As a Blogger, you need to be writing at least once a week.
Stocks don't move much to guarantee steady income.
Business partnership, makes sense but the business has to be profitable.

But you see trading Forex/Crypto with a very good trading bot, that makes a difference. Hello car gurus in the house, i discussed with my mechanic this evening about fixing back my thermostat because of my car excess fuel consumption, I told him that I've already gotten the re wire guy that would have it done, but my mechanic told me that as far as my radiator is double cell, fixing back my thermostat won't work, that i have to change my radiator to single cell first, which i didn't budget buying of a newer radiator as part of my expenses, as i have already bought the thermostat. In which i regret trying to put it back at this point in time as i didn't thought about buying a new radiator. I have read numerous topics here on nairaland of people fixing back their thermostat, but i haven't read anything from anyone here about them changing their radiator from double cell to single cell first before fixing back their thermostat.

I once had a sienna that was like this, terrible guzzler,but with the scan code,you obviously have a missing thermostat,install that back,bleed the system and you will have a significant better mileage,exactly what happened to my sienna

Did you installed the thermostat of your sianna back? If you did, you mean the milage became better after you installed it back?

wow. If no be the injection system or from plug, then na the air filter flow that is obstructed or blocked or sensor. Every other thing being equal, like tyre inflated properly

I have changed all 4 injectors, all 4 spark plugs, i bought original (4)spark plugs from a nairalander here for 62k, I have changed the air filter, yet still the same thing.

That last pic, 6mg. Just park that car first. Don't be in a hurry to inspect it with professional. Its eating all your money, my gee dodge challenger v6 dey use 29mpg for express, he uses 12 liters to and fro from Agbor and asaba. My vboot padded uses about same without AC

It's been 4.1mpg within the past 11 months and counting, it showed 6.4mpg two day's ago in which i was surprised and i snapped it, and now it's presently displaying 4.4mpg.

My 2013 Camry is consuming excessive fuel, it's been more than a year since i bought it, and i have been suffering heavily ever since then, i spend nothing less than 100k a week on fuel alone, i don't drive long distance or drive much or have heavy foot.

The car is consuming fuel excessively, this car drink fuel like water, the car fuel consumption is something else and I'm so tired, it's a 2013 camry.

Firstly, i initially thought it was the wheel and tyres because the car came with 20 inch tyres and wheels, because i read here on nairaland that bigger tyres/wheels affect fuel consumption, so i bought and changed all 4 wheels and tyres, the car is a fuel guzzler, i have bought new catalyst for 305k, changed oxygen sensor, check for leaks, all 4 coils and all 4 spark plugs, yet the fuel consumption still remain the same. The car normally takes me 41km for 20 liters of fuel.

So i decide to scan the car today for codes and these are the codes below that I got from the scanner.

You say things are really hard for you but you gave your wife 5m, who has given her friend 1.5m from it. Can you make that make sense? Imagine if you had given your mom that 1.5m or set it aside to be giving her to take care of her. Your mom also needs a new phone but your wife took it. Honestly, I hope your story is fake because you're a disappointment of a son if this is truly how you're treating your mom.

My story isn't fake, it's 1000% true, and there's more that i have been enduring, but I can't talk it out here, there's indeed a lot for me to say, a whole lot.

I didn't find it hard to give my mom the 5k, things have been difficult for me, I sold my land to raise the 5m that I gave my wife for her business. However, you're still right, I should have remembered to give my mom even more than the 5k she requested for to send to her mom, before giving my wife the 5m, better still I should have given her 4m and give my mom 50k and use the remainder for something else.
