Boarding house is a mixture of bitter and sweet experiences.
Even though I saw terrible things, the six years I spent at FGC Lagos (Ijanikin) have been the best years of my life as a student from nursery level to masters.

My kids will go to boarding school, perhaps same FGC Lagos.

I was a boarder from Js1 to ss3.....I remembered the first day I resumed....na so body day sweet me, everybody came to wish me well...when the uppercut,paint wall red with your hand ,every Saturday clearing of grass and so on start....na everyday I day go call my papa for phone booth day cry...even the lady stopped giving me phone to call cos she was tired of my wailings the devilish Dom mother when they give me self nor day help matter ......after I enjoy small for js3 been that they were 2 principals then..1 for js and d oda for ss....so js3 be like say u day ss3.....wen I enter ss1 d suffer red pass jss1 self but I was stronger already....those ss3 devils used us as slaves....every blessed day all ss1 must fetch 2 buckets of water for them....whether water day scarces for school or na 1 bucket u get na ur business be that one....chaiii...even the food sef,as usual lesbianism unto say na girls skul then witchcraft...they day press people wella I nor join sha ....make I nor talk again....it was a wonderful experience... though e b like suffer then but now I just laugh when I remember many things and above all....it made me really strong...I can fare in any weather OLMHS(Our Lady's Model High School, EFF, Delta State) Alele Shine!!!

I love this topic because just yesterday I was thinking about the same thing, I got to Botswana and in just 6month am worth more than $54,000 at least for a very broke boy from the street of Lagos, hustle to hustle carry me enter, I beg my fellow Nigerians to leave and try move into these coded countries, that's what I call them and see how big Nigerians are living and enjoying life on a low key, Many of them calculate in dollars. One yahoo boy #5m hit is my own bills in a month outside, u see say things are not the same at all.

my dad came close 4 years ago, he poured petrol in an abandoned well in the compound to burn debris we dumped from tree cutting, he went into the house to get matches by then the petrol fumes had saturated the well like a ticking time bomb...
then he lit match, as he threw it in, i remember i was in the kitchen cooking indomie and my mom and siblings were watching tv and we heard a very loud booooooom!!!!!the house shook from the Foundation,
like a bomb blast, everyone in the street came rushing down to our compound, the explosion shot flames high up into the sky, threw some burning debris onto the zinc.
it was crazy.
lucky for my dad, he pulled back as he threw the match stick, only the hair on his head was fried by the explosion.
no burns, no injuries
