Politics › Re: Donald Duke, Peter Obi At Conference For Young And Emerging Leaders by Blitz888(m): 7:42pm On May 31, 2017 |
omenkaLives: Asked a simple question for one to tell me what exactly sets the duo apart from their thieving counterparts from across the nation and instead of an idiot to answer that, they come up empty handed to ask me a silly question.
What has amnesia got to do with anything? Are these two not thieves like the others? Save for tinapa that Duke built, which turned out to be a catastrophic failure, what did he achieve in eight years with the monies that accrued to the state? What does he have going for him besides his good looks and good spoken english?
What did obi himself achieve? I don't begrudge your asking which in my opinion is the right thing any discerning mind would do but to think that you would classify Peter Obi in that thieving category is really unfair and uncharitable. Peter Obi as a governor was ouster twice and he fairly went through the courts to reclaim his mandate which slowed his administration especially in the early days of his first tenure, these setbacks notwithstanding he brought such frugality in the management of state resources, improved the infrastructure of the state to such unprecedented level, laid a solid foundation in the educational sector of the state through improved funding, recruitment of more qualified teachers, returning the schools to their original owners; the church whilst still ensuring that the government still gave subvention to the schools, built roads crisscrossing the length and breadth of the state, he instituted checks in government to block leakages and to also ensure accountability in governance... His human capital development programs were impressive which is testimony to the number of International agencies present in the state and also not forgetting that the current community vigilante security structure in the state was the brain child of his administration and he matched words with action by fully funding and supporting the almost 200 communities in Anambra state with vehicles and other logistic to enable them combat crime effectively. Today the things you see in Anambra state are actually the multiplier effect of a solid foundation laid by Peter Obi. |

omenkaLives: Little minds always looking for whom to blame. Are the said northerners also responsible for the bad governance at the state level? Or are state governors and their deputies in the south a composition of southerners and northerners?
Let's even talk about these two. How exactly did they perform in their capacities as state governors? What exactly distinguished them from their thieving Northern and Southern counterparts then? Has youthfulness become a criteria for good governance? Isn't Yahaya Bello of Kogi state a disgrace? Was Salisu Buhari not a disgrace? Was Bankole not a disgrace?
What is so unique about Peter and Duke I ask? Or perhaps they'd do well because they are good looking?
Smh.
This forum has gone to the dogs indeed. You obviously don't know anything about Peter Obi's time as governor of Anambra State or is it that you're plagued with selective amnesia? |

Aderola15: The post just got me really weak, Iike what sorta mannerless kids do we have around ehn
I posted a picture on Facebook last year and the gown was kinda short, mehn... My mum came for my head right there on Facebook with destiny resetting words, I hardly make use of my account.. She had to call me to go check her post on my wall, I cried when I saw the post ehnnnnn
Now the funniest part is she gave the gown to me herself. Lol... That was destiny resetting indeed.. Mothers are like our moral compass and honestly speaking all they want is the best for their children.. A perversive and morally bankrupt generation that is on the edge of the precipice such as ours will continue in it's steady decline until we begin to accord our parents the respect and reverence they duly deserve especially our mothers. Parents too must learn to instill the reverential fear in their children before leaving home... Every child mirrors and reflects the kind of home he/she comes from.. Sound family values today are a rarity! |

Akshow: There are some things that are simply unexplainable. Efe is one of such. Aside the stunt he pulled on stage when going in, nothing special about him. He can't sing, he can't rap (actually he should consider comedy cos rapping ain't his calling), can't dance, not out spoken etc. But somehow he resonates with Nigerians who celebrate mediocrity cos he keeps saying he is poor as if big brother house is a salvation army. Sadly, he will win I find your comments outrightly ridiculous and outrageous.. I don't see anything mediocre about choosing a tactics that resonates well with the audience... His selling point is his tactics and how he chooses to deploy same to good effect is also a well thought out game plan.. I think he is smart for choosing to align with the sentiments of majority of the viewing public.. |
