Popular Nollywood actor Chukwuemeka Ani has released a video from his sick bed, asking Nigerians for financial assistance.
 
The actor, who has starred in many traditional Nigerian movies, said from his hospital bed that the bills are too much and he can no longer foot it alone.

Chukwuemeka Ani said he's been on admission at the hospital since Dec 7 and a surgery was carried out but his condition got worse after the surgery.

He thanked those who have helped him so far and those intending to help.

As negotiations proceed on a likely venue for the clash, the 31-year-old’s promoter Eddie Hearn hinted at June being a likely time

”We’ve had big discussions with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Singapore,”he told sportsmail.

”No decision has yet been made on the location of the fight, though the ongoing coronavirus restrictions in the UK mean the chances of the first clash between Joshua and Fury taking place on home soil are extremely slim.”

Police summon Ogun hotelier over CCTV cameras uncovered in rooms

The Ogun State Police Command said it had commenced investigation into the alleged invasion of privacy of guests at the Pavillion Hotel, Ayepe, in the Odogbolu area of the state.

The development followed public outcry against the hotel after an online video showed guests lamenting the discovery of closed circuit television cameras in their rooms.

In the trending video, a guest was seen removing a camera that was planted in an air conditioner in one of the rooms.

The guest said, “This is a room in the hotel we are sleeping in Ayepe; we just found out that there is a camera installed in every room. These are the four we removed from other rooms; this is the fifth room and we just found out that there is a camera inside.

“The cameras have recorded my brother’s and mother’s unclothedness. Imagine, you are putting cameras in our rooms, infringing on people’s privacy, seeing people’s unclothedness.”
Nigerians, while condemning the action of the hotel management, called on the police to probe the allegation.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said, “The owner of the hotel stays in Lagos and the Divisional Police Officer in Odogbolu has invited him. We are expecting him to come and state his reasons for doing so.”

Meanwhile, Femi Branch has calls out hotel with hidden cameras in bedrooms

The actor pointed out that people expect privacy in hotels and as a reault, they count money in their hotel rooms and make calls revealing some sensitive information, not knowing they are being filmed.

He called on the Nigerian police to investigate the hotel, adding that if anyone has been robbed after leaving the premises, the hotel should be held responsible.

Breaking News: Martin Odegaard joins Arsenal on loan

Norwegian international Martin Odegaard has joined Arsenal from Real Madrid on loan for the remainder of the season.

Arsenal Technical director Edu said: “We are delighted to welcome Martin to the club until the end of the season. The Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service, AKIRS has sealed off Guarantee Trust Bank over unpaid taxes running into N184 million.

The two branches operating in the State; Udo Udoma and Abak road were sealed off today, Monday after the State government Agency had acquired an exparte order tagged ” Notice of Distrain ” from the Akwa Ibom State High Court, Uyo Division ordering that access to the premises and its facilities be restricted.

It could be recalled that the two branches of GTBank were given warning notice on February 4, 2020. According to AKIRS, the bank has failed to comply with the warning 10 months after.

The Akwa Ibom State Government this year released the Account General’s annual report and audited financial statements for 2019.

A thorough analysis of the report reveals that the offices of the State Governor and the Secretary to the State Government made several questionable and extra budgetary expenses in 2019. These bizarre expenses were incurred on cars, aircraft maintenance, fuel, government special projects and governor’s hospitality exceed 10 billion naira.

N4.864B SPENT ON CARS

The report reveals that the office of the SSG purchased 15 new Toyota Prado Jeeps (TXL) for the sum of N4.864 billion. The approved budget for that item was N738 million. So an extra N4.126 billion was posted for the purchase of these cars.

The figures in the financial report, imply that the unit cost for one Toyota Prado Jeep (TXL) is more than N324 million. But a market price survey conducted in October 2020 by our reporters showed that the current unit price of the car is N34 million. Cheki cars, a reputable car company in Lagos, said 15 new Toyota Prado Jeep (TXL) would be sold for N510 million only, which is N228 million less than the original amount budgeted for the vehicles.

Even with a mark-up of 20 per cent profit for the supplier of the vehicles, they should not have cost more than N612 million.

Through a Freedom of Information (FOI) request, our reporter sought information from the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, on the purchase of the 15 number Toyota Prado Jeeps. Ekuwem did not respond to the request sent to his office on 24th September 2020 and the follow- up reminder sent to him two weeks later.

N5.04B SPENT ON MAINTENANCE OF STATE AIRCRAFT

A big recurrent expenditure item in the 2019 financial report under the SSG’s office is the maintenance of the state aircraft. The House of Assembly approved N2.5 billion for this item in 2019 but the SSG’s office spent N5.04 billion on the maintenance of one aircraft, a Bombardier Global 5000, which is used exclusively by the governor and the first family.

According to Liberty Jet, a New York based airline operator, the annual cost of flying and maintaining a Bombardier Global 5000 for 400 hours a year is approximately $2,272,015, N693.88 million, at the exchange rate of N305/$1 in 2019.

Also, an aviation cost evaluation company, Aircraft Cost Calculator, puts the cost of flying and maintaining a Bombardier Global 5000, at $2,525,902 (N770.4 million) at 450 hours per year.

Expenses incurred by the state on the maintenance of the aircraft have outraged Akwa Ibom indigenes, Civil Society and Civil Liberties Organizations.

At one point, Senator Ita Enang, currently serving as Senior Special Assistant on Niger Delta Affairs to President Buhari, called on the state government to sell the aircraft and invest the money in education and agriculture.

Arc Ezekiel Nya-Etok, a respected politician and advocate of good governance, advised the state government to push the state aircraft into the fleet of Ibom Air, Akwa Ibom State owned airline, for chartered services to help the state get economic value from it.

The state government keeps posting fees for maintenance and repairs of the state aircraft, even as information on the company maintaining the aircraft remained a top secret.

After spending a month scouting for leads on the company in-charge of the maintenance and repairs of the state aircraft, our reporters through a critical source outside the state got briefs that CAMOSA (Continued Airworthiness Maintenance Organisation), an aviation consultant based in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa, was in-charge of the maintenance of the aircraft.

Checks on the company at the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, and the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, show that CAMOSA was registered to do business in Nigeria in December 2019, with the name “CAMOSA Projects Limited”. The company’s address on the CAC and FIRS is Udo Udoma Avenue (House number withheld).

After a long search for the company’s address in Uyo, it was discovered that the company has been operating surreptitiously from a property allegedly owned by the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Special Duties and Aviation Development, Mr Okpolupm Etteh.

During a physical check at the address, there was no signboard or any other proof that the company occupies the flat, instead another company linked to Etteh, had a small signage on the door to the flat.

A critical source who spoke about the operations of the company, told our reporters, that CAMOSA Projects Limited only “squatted a while in the facility and used the address to formalize their registration but had moved out to a new office in Shelter Afrique.” Shelter Afrique is a high-brow, government-owned residential estate in Akwa Ibom State where top government functionaries live.

Investigations revealed that CAMOSA has been in-charge of the maintenance of the Akwa Ibom state aircraft since Mr Udom Emmanuel came on board as governor in 2015, but the company got registered in Nigeria with the CAC on 4th December 2019 with registration number 1638800.

Our findings suggest that the aviation service company with unconfirmed links to Governor Emmanuel has not paid relevant tax to the state government as the company is not on the taxpayers’ database of the state.

The Akwa Ibom State government under Governor Emmanuel, has been unrelenting in its clampdown on companies that evade taxes, with AKIRS recently sealing up some companies that defaulted in tax payment.

It was further gathered within the state civil service that the office of the governor now handles matters concerning aviation development.

“The Aviation Development arm of the Ministry of Special Duties and Aviation Development only exist in name”, a senior civil servant in the Ministry who cannot be named in this report because civil service rules forbid a civil servant from speaking to journalists, said.

According to him, “Since the current state exco was inaugurated after the 2019 election, aviation matters have been taken away from the Ministry of Special Duties. Aviation development is handled under the office of the governor. That is why we now have the Managing Director and CEO of the Victor Attah International Airport, Mr Uwem Ekanem, serving as Senior Special Assistant (Aviation Development) to the governor.

“What the Ministry does is only supervisory. We supervise jobs in the aviation sector after they are awarded by the Governor but we do not have any hand in anything happening at the airport.”

The Commissioner for Special Duties and Aviation Development, Mr Okpolupm Etteh, avoided making comments on this when he was reached on phone.

He did not respond to phone calls and SMS sent to him. One of Etteh’s aide whom he directed to meet with these reporters said the Commissioner has seen the SMS and will speak to us over one of the weekends. However, he did not keep the appointment and did not respond to further phone calls.

Interestingly, expenses on the maintenance of the Akwa Ibom State aircraft in 2019 alone is almost as much as the amount approved (N7.92 billion) for the maintenance of 10 aircrafts in the presidential fleet for the same year. It is also more than 40 per cent the cost of the aircraft. Chief Godswill Akpabio administration bought the state aircraft in June 2012 for the sum of 45 million dollars.

Photos: Former Minister Arrests 4 Hotel Staff, Strip Them Naaked For Allegedly Stealing N5,000

A former Minister of State for Education, Kenneth Gbagi, who is currently nursing a governorship ambition in Delta State in 2023 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, has arrested and charged four of his staff working in his hotel to court for allegedly stealing his N5,000.

It was reliably gathered that Gbagi last week Friday arrested the four staff working in Signatious Hotel, Warri, Delta State, after they were striped naaked and photographed inside the hotel before handing them over to the police.

After dehumanizing the four staff, a male and three females, they were taken to the Ebrumede Police Station to be remanded in custody.

Speaking in confidence with our correspondent, a staff of the hotel revealed that his colleagues were arrested by the former minister over the alleged theft of the said amount.

He said, “My boss, former Minister of State for Education and owner of Signatious Hotel, Chief Kenneth Gbagi, arrested four of my colleagues working for him over the stealing of N5,000 from the hotel when actually the N5,000 was given as a gift to them by a guest because of their good behaviour.”

While giving the names of the arrested colleagues as Gloria Oguzie, Victor Ephraim, Rosslyn Okiemute and Achibong Precious, the source said, “Before they were arrested by the police on Friday last week at the hotel, the four staff were stripped naaked while they were photographed in the presence of the police.

“We learnt that the dehumanising treatment was instructed by our boss.”

It was further gathered that the hotel management forcefully made some withdrawals from the bank accounts of the four staff through their ATM cards before the police took them away in a waiting van.

TOPLESS Willian enjoyed a dance as he celebrated shining on his Arsenal debut.

The Brazilian winger, 32, was filmed by team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cutting shapes in the away dressing room at Fulham.

Gunners skipper Aubameyang started the Instagram video with himself and Alexandre Lacazette.

The giggling Gabon star cheered the Frenchman on as he pulled out some moves.

But then debutant Willian came through the door and the camera quickly turned to him, even though he seemed to have just got out the shower with an Arsenal towel wrapped around.



Not one to shy away on the big stage, though, Willian delivered – just as he did on the pitch at Craven Cottage with all three assists.

The free transfer who arrived this summer from Chelsea took just nine minutes to register his first Gunners assist.

His close-range effort was initially saved by Fulham stopper Marek Rodak but Lacazette was on hand to slot in the opening goal of the Premier League season.

After the break, Willian grabbed his second, whipping in a dangerous corner which fellow debutant and compatriot Gabriel cannoned in off his shoulder.

And eight minutes later the forward was at it again, picking the ball up on the halfway line and clipping it over for Aubameyang to control, run into the box and pick out the top corner.

The fine finish capped off a 3-0 win for the Gunners in West London, the perfect start to the new campaign.

Manager Mikel Arteta said: “Willian knows the league, the country and is very settled here so I knew his performance would settle straight away.



“On the first day you always have butterflies. It’s been a strange pre-season. Yesterday was the first day we had the full squad together training.“

A former Central Coast teacher sobbed today, as she was jailed for more than two years for grooming a male student for s£x.

A FEMALE teacher has been jailed for kissing and groping a 14-year-old boy in the store room of an Australia school.

Katie Smith, 28, from the Hunter Region of New South Wales, also admitted to sending the boy a series of explicit images on Snapchat after befriending him in late 2018.

At a hearing at Newcastle District Court on Friday, Smith was handed a sentence of three years and ten months, with a minimum term of two years and three months.

During her trial, the court heard that Smith, a PE teacher, first befriended the boy in the final term of 2018, and that the interactions between them continued in the first term of the following year.

The pair kissed and groped one another on two different occasions, once in a store room at the school, once in a car park.

She also sent the boy photographs of her breaasts as well as a film of her touching her geniitals.

The boy sent Smith photographs of his erect pennnis.

It sparked a string of complaints from his appalled team-mates, who included several female players as well as celebrities.

They called on Soccer Aid and ITV bosses to axe Toure from the game, held annually in support of children’s charity Unicef.

Toure, who has three children with wife Gina, deleted the messages and issued an apology but today got the boot from Sunday’s game.

An insider said: “Everyone at Soccer Aid was disgusted by Yaya’s messages.

“There is a WhatsApp group for his team, the World XI, and everyone had been chatting in it.

Giancarlo Granda, 29, spoke out on Monday in an interview with Reuters where he contradicted Falwell Jr’s claims that he was trying to extort the pair, and gave more details about his alleged s3xual relationship with them.
He said he was 20 when he met the pair in Miami and that starting in March 2012, he had s3x with Falwell’s wife Becki several times a year in hotel rooms, sometimes while Falwell Jr. watched, until 2018.

‘Becki and I developed an intimate relationship and Jerry enjoyed watching from the corner of the room,’ Giancarlo said.

During that time, the trio went into business together with an LGBTQ-friendly hostel in Miami that Giancarlo runs.

He said that he was used as a ‘target’ for the couple’s ‘s3xual escapades’ and that he was not trying to extort the pair, even though he threatened to go ‘the kamikaze route’ if they didn’t give him what he wanted.

He sat down with Reuters earlier this month. They went to Falwell Jr. with Giancarlo’s claims, which is what prompted his statement on Sunday night.

Now 29, Granda described the liaisons as frequent – ‘multiple times per year’ – and said the encounters took place at hotels in Miami and New York, and at the Falwells´ home in Virginia.

On Sunday night, Falwell Jr. – a prominent Trump endorser and one of the most influential right-wing Christians in America – told The Washington Examiner that he and his family were being extorted.



He said Becki had an affair with Giancarlo that he had ‘no involvement in’, and that he’d chosen to forgive his wife.

Giancarlo claims the opposite.

He showed Reuters texts from Becki where she said she was ‘missing him like crazy’ and also gave an audio recording of her complaining about hearing about the other women Giancarlo had been intimate with. Falwell Jr. was also on the call and told him that he was going to make his wife ‘jealous’.

‘He´s like telling me every time he hooks up with people. Like I don´t have feelings or something,’ Becki said.

Jerry then chimed in: ‘You’re going to make her jealous.’ Giancarlo replied: ‘I’m not trying to do that.’

He insists he was trying to negotiate a buyout from the hostel business and that he was not extorting the pair.

In one text to them, he said: ‘Since you´re okay with ruining my life, I am going to take the kamikaze route.

‘It really is a shame because I wanted to reach a peaceful resolution and just move on with our lives but if conflict is what you want, then so be it.’



In his statement on Sunday night, Falwell Jr. said, in part: ‘Becki had an inappropriate personal relationship with this person, something in which I was not involved…it was nonetheless very upsetting to learn about.’

His friendship with the Falwells eventually soured, he said, in part because he wanted to dissolve his ties with the couple and fell into a business dispute with them.

Giancarlo first emerged as a figure in the Falwells´ circle two years ago, when BuzzFeed News reported that the couple had befriended Granda and gone into business with him, buying a Miami Beach youth hostel in 2013.

At the time of the BuzzFeed article, a representative of the Falwell family said Granda was ‘offered a share’ in Alton Hostel LLC because he lived in Miami and would act as a manager of the youth hostel. Corporate records show that he currently has a stake in that venture.

After Reuters presented its initial reporting early last week to the Falwells, a lawyer for Jerry Falwell, Michael Bowe, said the evangelical leader ‘categorically denies everything you indicated you intend to publish about him.’

On Sunday night, however, as Reuters was preparing to publish this article, Jerry Falwell issued a statement to the Washington Examiner in which he said that his wife had had an affair with Giancarlo and that Giancarlo had been trying to extort money from the couple over the matter. Giancarlo denies any such intent, saying he was seeking to negotiate a buyout from a business arrangement he says he had with the couple.

THIS is the shocking moment a Texan man Payton Malone found a SNAKE poking its head out of his toilet bowl.

The horrifying video, which was first shared on Twitter, has now gone viral and raked in more than 2 million views.

“I always thought this was an irrational fear of mine…apparently not. Friend out in west Texas found this,” WWLTV meteorologist Payton Malone captioned the video in his tweet on Sunday.

The 30-second-video showed a snake slithering out of the water at the bottom of a toilet bowl.

Someone appeared to use a golf club to coax the creature out of the toilet before the footage was cut off.

Reacting to the clip, one comment said: “You know how many people surf Twitter while on the toilet right? And saw this while on the toilet? And immediately quivered in fear? I am one of those people.”
