SOURCE - .COM The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has spoken again on the tithe issue sparked by OAP, Daddy Freeze. According to Pastor Adeboye, God himself convinced him that tithing was right for Christians. Recall that in a previous reaction to the tithing controversy, Adeboye warned Christians against the dangers of non- compliance to paying of tithe. However, the cleric, on Sunday, 3rd December, 2017 edition of his Daily Devotional, titled: “Open Heavens”, said the command to pay tithes on one’s earnings simply places a demand on the Christian to trust God. Writing on the topic, ‘Tithing Is Trusting’, Adeboye said: “To experience exploits in your life, you must have a personal relationship with God. You must believe that He lives and love Him with all your heart. You must also learn to trust in Him. “The command to pay tithes on your earnings simply places a demand on you to trust God. Your response to this command shows the level of trust you have in Him. “If you can pay your tithes correctly, it shows that you trust God for your livelihood, but if you find it difficult to be faithful in doing this, it simply shows that you trust more in your earning than in God to sustain you. “After I became newly born again and we were taught to pay tithes, I laughed and said in my mind, ‘These people do not know that I am a mathematician. If 100% is not enough for me, how can 90% be enough after I have paid 10% as tithe? Thank you very much! Even though these people are not educated, they still want to use their smartness to take 10% of my income from me. Let them try and take it’. “However, down the line, God convinced me by Himself and I observed remarkable changes in my life.” Source : http://www..com/2017/12/god-himself-convinced-me-tithing-was.html

Source - Talented Nigerian singer, Seyi Shay, strutted onto the stage to perform at the AFRIMA awards on the 12th of November 2017 in Lagos, only to hit the floor moments later. (READ HERE) In a new interview with SUNDAY SCOOP, the singer talked about her fall and how it inspired her to drop a single. She said; “At backstage, I was blaming everyone. I blamed my stylist, the designer, and my manager. I even blamed the stage. But the truth is that what is meant to be will be. I think with every lesson, there is a blessing. “I knew that when I got off the stage and opened my phone, there would be so much talk about my fall. Like I expected, by the time I got to my room, Instablog9ja already had 40,000 views.” According to her, the AFRIMA’s experience was the first time she would be experiencing such an embarrassing moment. “You know everybody has a first time. Wizkid, Davido and even Beyonce have suffered similar fate in the past. She fell from the stage. Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez have fallen on stage as well. “So, when you think about all these stars and their experiences, you will realise that you are not different from them and you are not immune to mistakes as well. I see my fall as a very humbling moment of my life,” she added. Immediately she left the Eko Hotel and Suites venue of AFRIMA, she went to the studio with her manager and Klem, the songwriter who wrote ‘Yolo Yolo’, to make a song. She stated, “The title of my new song is The Fall, and it has to do with the AFRIMA’s experience. I plan to drop the song next month. Sometimes, when misfortune happens, you have to look at the positive side and all the opportunities in it to turn the misfortune into fortune. That’s what we are doing right now.” She wondered how she picked herself up after she fell, saying she was just conscious of the fact that it was a live show and she couldn’t let Nigerians down. “I guess the fall just brought out the best in me. It made me realise that I wasn’t invincible. Since I knew that it was a live show, watched by everyone across the globe, I couldn’t embarrass my country. I had no choice but to get up and finish the show. “It was the dress I wore that caused the fall, but most people didn’t know that. I stepped on it and the material dragged me down. I will be 100 per cent careful when considering my costume going forward,” she noted. Source - http://www..com/2017/11/singer-seyi-shay-finally-speaks-on-her.html

Source - Yakubu Galadima, the lawyer for the whistle-blower, who informed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of the $43m, N23.2m and £27,800 (N13bn) recovered from an Ikoyi apartment, says his client will not accept anything below five per cent commission. Galadima said this during a chat with one of our correspondents on Saturday. The Secretary of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, at an event on Thursday titled, ‘Tracking Noxious Funds’, which was organised by Kent University Law School and Human and Environmental Development Agency, had explained that any whistle-blower, who helped the government to recover anything above N1bn would receive less than five per cent commission. Owasanoye, who was part of the team that drafted the whistle-blower policy had said, “If you blow the whistle and the government recovers cash, you are entitled to between 2.5 per cent and five per cent. The maximum limit is five per cent. “According to the policy, if you blow the whistle and it is below N500m, you get four to five per cent because the higher the amount that is recovered, the lower the percentage that is given. This is the global best practice. “If the recovery is between N500m and N1bn, you get three to four per cent (commission). If it is N1bn and above, it is 2.5 per cent. Indeed, there is a clause that we included in the policy to say that the government may determine the amount to be awarded based on other criteria provided that the amount to be awarded doesn’t exceed five per cent. In other words, the government may actually pay less than 2.5 per cent but nobody can be paid more than five per cent.” However, the Ikoyi whistle-blower’s lawyer told SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday that his client would not accept anything less than five per cent. When asked if his client would accept anything less than five per cent, he said, “Not at all.” Galadima had stated last week that the commission his client was expecting from the Federal Government was N860m and not N325m. He had also stated that the commission should be paid based on the exchange rate at the time the money was recovered and not the current one. Attempts to get comments from the Ministry of Finance were not successful as calls and a text message sent to the Director of Information in the ministry, Mr. Salisu Dambatta, were not responded to. Beneficiary to be paid before Thursday, says ministry official Meanwhile, there are indications that the Ministry of Finance is awaiting the final clearance from the EFCC before it can pay the Ikoyi whistleblower. Officials in the ministry confided in one of our correspondents that the whistle-blower was expected to be paid before the end of this month. However, it was gathered that while the ministry was ready to make the payment, the move could be delayed as administrative work was still ongoing on the issue. The official said the ministry had put in place detailed procedures for processing payments under the whistle-blower policy. These procedures, according to the official, were designed to prevent abuse, legal disputes and to ensure protection of the information providers. He stated that the identity of the information provider must be verified, adding that there would be calculation of the amount payable and computation of relevant taxes. The source stated, “The ministry of finance is not directly involved in the recovery of looted fund; that is the responsibility of the various security agencies. “Our role is to make payment and you will recall that last week, the finance minister said payment would be made this month to the person who assisted in the recovery of looted funds including the Ikoyi whistle-blower. “That process is on and final payment can be released when we receive confirmation from the agency that made the recovery before we can know who to pay money to. “In the case of the Ikoyi recovery, we are talking of the EFCC which is the agency that made the recovery and once they give us final confirmation, payment would be made.” In a related development, Owasanoye has revealed that violation of the directive regarding the Treasury Single Account by government agencies and officials tops the list of recoveries made from the whistle-blower policy. Owasanoye said, “As of the end of October, over 5,000 whistles had been blown and about 75 per cent of that came from phone calls. So, you can report on the website, email, text message or phone call. “What are the things that the various communications have covered? Contract inflation, ‘ghost workers’, payment of unapproved funds, embezzlement of salaries, diversion of excess crude funds, improper reduction of financial penalties, diversion of funds meant for people, placing money in a commercial bank, non-remittance of deduction of pensions or NHIS and failure to implement projects. “Others include embezzlement of funds received from donors, embezzlement of payment meant for personnel emoluments, violation of TSA which is the highest, violation of FIRS regulations, non-procurement of safety equipment, money laundering, illegal sale of government assets, diversion of IGR which is the second largest, financial misappropriation, concealed bailout funds, mismanagement of micro-finance banks and illegal recruitment.” Source ; http://www..com/2017/11/ikoyi-whistleblower-rejects-fgs-n325m.html

@ It was lit beyond lit and so lavish, with many celebrities gracing the event that went down in Victoria Island, Lagos. Now, here’s the thing is, last year July, Banky W in a chat with HFTV revealed he felt no undue pressure to be married simply because everyone else is, he also maintained that he would keep the identity of his partner hidden till the wedding day. Banky is quoted as saying:- “Until I walk down the aisle with somebody, I’m never going to talk about somebody that I’ve been with. I don’t think it’s fair to the person because you open that person up. Me, I can take the criticism and the comments on the internet and all of that stuff but somebody else that isn’t in that limelight doesn’t necessarily ask for that kind of criticism and backlash and slander and all of that and it’s tough to take for somebody that is not used to it so I don’t think it’s fair.” Then in August 2016, Banky W wrote on Snapchat that he’d never have a big wedding, as small weddings are the best.. Instead, he’d just invite his closest friends and family to grace the event. “Small weddings are the bessst. Just family and closest friends.”, he wrote on His snapchat. He continued: “If/when I DO get married, no way I am doing that huge Lagos wedding move, NEVER…secret location somewhere that needs like 2 visas to get to. Whole life has been a show, not making my wedding one too, no way!. Yall not gonna Naija. Blog me, LOL..i’d rather Jay-Beyonce it, coded to max—world gonna find out after it’s already said and done”. Meanwhile, Just before his wedding yesterday, Banky took to his Instagram page to share few words about his blessings and gratitude for being able to have so much of them all in the first instance, despite being undeserving. @ Robert Mugabe’s son recently posted a message on his social media page on Sunday Morning, just before his dictator father refused to step down. Chatunga Bellamine Mugabe, Robert’s eldest son by second wife Grace, wrote on Facebook: ‘You can’t fire a Revolutionary leader! Zanu PF is nothing without President Mugabe.”Proud of you Gushungo. Proud of Dad. Gushungo always and forever to death.’ Chatunga and Robert Jr are known for their party-hard lifestyle funded by their father’s money which they regularly flaunt on social media. Just after, Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe made a broadcast to his people on Sunday night, but he did the unexpected: he did not resign as widely expected. Instead he said he would preside over a ZANU-PF congress next month even though the ruling party had removed him as its leader hours earlier. The broadcast was witnessed by the military leaders who had taken control of Zimbabwean affairs, but who kept denying that they had executed a coup. ZANU-PF had given the 93-year-old less than 24 hours to quit as head of state or face impeachment, an attempt to secure a peaceful end to his tenure after a de facto coup. Mugabe said in a address on state television that he acknowledged criticism against him from ZANU-PF, the military and the public, but did not comment on the possibility of standing down. “The (ruling ZANU-PF) party congress is due in a few weeks and I will preside over its processes,” Mugabe said. Speaking slowly and occasionally stumbling as he read from the pages, Mugabe talked of the need for solidarity to resolve national problems — business-as-usual rhetoric that he has deployed over decades. He made no reference to the chorus calling for him to resign and shrugged off last week’s dramatic military intervention. “The operation I have alluded to did not amount to a threat to our well-cherished constitutional order nor did it challenge my authority as head of state, not even as commander in chief,” he said“Whatever the pros and cons of how they (the army) went about their operation, I… do acknowledge their concerns,” said Mugabe. It was widely thought that Mugabe would have no choice but to go after the army seized power, opened the floodgates of citizen protest and his once-loyal party told him to quit. His speech suggested he was unfazed by the turmoil. Source : http://www..com/2017/11/you-cant-fire-my-dad-robert-mugabes-son.html
