I have come to the realization that truly, most Nigerian youths are very much ignorant of the things they claim to know. You see this Bureau here ehn, it is one of the greatest achievements of this administration. Those who know this know what I mean (cyber security specialists, IT policy developers etc) Kudos to this creation but challenge is the recruitment process. |

Sadly, there is nothing like this in Benue State. I like Osinbajo and would love to see him succeed Bubu but not with cheap propaganda such as this. That whole poster is in hausa language. Straight to the point! My friend used her ATM card in September to withdraw some funds from her account. Early hours of the next morning while asleep (12 am to 1 am) , she received message notifications from Access bank (her account holder). Due to the timing, she did not attend to her phone. When she woke up the next day, about six (6) different transactions were authorized on her Access bank account. Apparently, these transactions occurred in those early hours accrueling to over 400k. She then checked for her ATM card and did not find it. This meant that she had misplaced it during her movement from the bank to the house. Now, she went to the bank to lodge a complaint. The bank's rep told her there was nothing they could do to help her. As far as the bank's help goes, they gave her the platform on which the fraudster had used her card... wish.com. In a time like this, someone lost over 400k and it is not even treated with any urgency. A few days later, there was another transaction initiated on her account and OTP was sent for her approval. Of course, they could not access the funds anymore. Now my questions are these! 1. Are banks not required to send OTP to customers as a security measure before approving transactions? 2. Even without a card's PIN, transactions are approved by banks. Shouldn't PIN and other details be prerequisites for approving transactions? 3. If a bank fails to protect her customers, shouldn't such a bank take responsibility for her shortcomings? 4. How is it that my friend never got OTPs for all those transaction before the complaint but got after the complaint?

It's so sad that Nigerians don't read. OP just posted a misleading topic and everyone except the first commenter is going with the intended flow. The bill talks about "mob action". That is jungle justice. Catch and burn. Some of these people who get caught in such situations are innocent of such crimes. A clear example which the bill sponsor also mentioned and you and I know is the "Aluu Four". The internet and social media was densed prior to 8th of March, 2021; Prof. Yemi Osinbajo's birthday with the 8th March Initiative. An Entrepreneurship competition associated with the Vice President's name termed 8th March Initiative was trending and Nigerian youths as usual rolled out in their numbers to participate in this competition as it is with every other entrepreneurship competition in Nigeria. With the difficulty around the world consequently killing dreams of young entrepreneurs due to financial constraints, the Nigerian youths see every competition as the chance to get it right. In the same vein, Nigerians have become very careful of scam projects in order to avoid their ideas being stolen by the "big wings" and already existing businesses. In light of these facts, when this competition was announced and the amiable Prof. Yemi Osinbajo was associated with it (or so we thought), there was no digging required because the Prof would come out to disassociate himself with the project if he wasn't aware of it. The Nigerian Youths took time to pour out their hearts in this competition with such unbelievable hope. it's quite sad that even as I write three months later, no information has been released by the organizer of this competition as to their progress and it's starting to look like a scam. Sadly, this is only denting the name of Prof. Osinbajo who has worked tirelessly and selflessly over the years to ensure transparency. I hope something is done fast to clarify this unfortunate situation. 1 Like |

OP is just a funny human. See the misleading caption. Truth is, if there is insecurity no investors will come to invest. Having established this fact, is it the responsibility of the youths to secure the nation? What does this Nigeria expect of the youths, create a security outfit and head to Sambisa forest? ...that the security and welfare of the people shall be the "primary" purpose of the government. Does the Constitution say...the primary purpose of the youths? I weep for my dear country Nigeria. |
