⁸ Mujtahida: FIFA has a strict no government intervention in football and monitors the FAs to ensure that they are independent. Your suggestions will lead to full government involvement in the NFF and eventually FIFA ban
Coaches cannot be civil servants. You seem to suggest that they be regarded as civil servants in order to come under the investigative jurisdiction of the EFCC. Well, the EFCC investigates all manner of economic and financial crimes and that cuts across both private and public sectors. Hmm I come with a rejoinder later Let me watch this match first |

⁸ Mujtahida: By the time what you propose is done and the team is full of low quality players, it would be the same Nigerians who will accuse the NFF of ignoring players playing in the best leagues for just about any player. The ones we have been inviting so far nko? Besides, I mentioned it been in extreme scenarios. I said it to make a point |

Joebie: Okay let’s even assume this is possible under FIFA regulations, who will push for this move? A sports minoster with a good head on his shoulders No president of Nigeria would have issues with this.... Liase with the senate and house of rep..they will jump at it because na to pad budget them like. So it's an opportunity to do more padding. The overarching goal is that coaches and players get what's due to them when it's due to them. Simple |

charlesemeka85: not feasible because the same nff criminals will run to fifa to complain of governments involvement which will attract a ban And I say again, FIFA would then have an issue with how a country's player and coach is paid salary/allowance since NFF role ought to be purely administrative in the first place |

Joebie: I have always been an advocate of performance only consideration in selection and continuous selection. And I will celebrate any player doing it. But most of us here are only fixated on the big leagues.
My bro as per JP matter we can’t keep on adopting a hope and pray approach. We have waited too long doing the same things. If the NFF are really serious about good results they should show it in their search for a coach and stop toying with coaches salaries. The coach needs a clear head to work. Stop messing with the emotions of many Nigerians. This is an institutional problem, and just because we’ve had partial successes in the past, we believe its okay.
Nigeria will never get to its true potential if we keep doing things like this. This is where I agree with komekn Joebie, I have been an advocate that all national team salaries including coaches, players and other coaching staff shouldn't come through NFF anymore There should be a separate budget for it. It shouldn't even come under the sports ministry. Like, RMAFC should allocate a portion of Budget to paying coaches straight from the executive. My advice has some ripple effects: 1) You would see football administrators no longer fight tooth and nail for positions in the NFF. After all, no coach salary to chop 2) These coaches are seen as civil servants and are liable to face Nigerian law for infarctions against our football. As a coach, of you're caught taking bribe, then EFCC/ICPC can investigate you because technically, you're a civil servant. Also, you should be willing to submit yourself to periodic audit every 3 months. Same law applied to player bonuses 3) A law that makes owing coach salary a criminal offence liable to extended prison time would then be put in place because there's no reason to owe them anymore sin e their salaries are now budgeted for anymore. Same for player match bonuses. One.more thing, NFF function ought to be pure administrative and not fiscal. Times have shown that they can't be trusted and are dishonest with money. See my solution can work if duly implemented. Your takes.. codemaniacs: Football is not government politics...
Football is about talent, discipline and stamina...
Morocco have a talented goalkeeper and that GK has been their hero in this tournament... the administrators have to look for a talented goalkeeper and punish indiscipline players like Emmanuel Dennis and encourage discipline.. Yes but we'll also need selfless and incorruptible administrators too I have always harped on the need to get 3 solid GKs I'm sorry to say this but Uzoho and that model guy will kot even make it to Morocco's bench They are unreliable and have hecome too comfortable |

TheSuperNerd: One has already proven his worth with Tanzania. Proved his worth with a brand of lovely swift vertical playing transition football with the U17s and U20s and which is very similar to Morocco's Walid Regragui yet we still wait for more worth to be proven.
Take it from me... Give Amunike this Job and watch him do with Nigeria what Walid is doing with Morocco under just 8 games in charge.
I have done my homework on all major African sides and their coaching. This Moroccan team stood out. They always stood out and what strikes me the most is that his playing Philosophy is similar to Amunike.
And Amunike is in Zambia as technical consultant turning around the fortunes of Zanaco FC. In 12 games since Amunike came in, they have lost only once. Well, you have a knack for seeing coaching talent and you're hardly wrong. And yes, amuneke has proven himself in every clime he has coached. Also, he U derstands the african system and mentality. So I go with you on this |

lovewins: It's important to note that Morocco's coach won the Champions League with a Moroccan club side before he got the job.
Our league needs to be developed and our ex-internationals need to take up local jobs to prove their worth. This may not be a good criteria because our league is in shambles At least get some International coaching licenses...the UEFA grade types...it shouldn't be hard for them with the egunje they have collected from politicians this period In fact, we need to standardise the criteria for appointing coaches in our league... |

Amunike deserves the job.

What's the unit of measurement for passion, commitment, loyalty belief and humility. These are Very subjective and perceptive based deductions open to abuse.
What creates identity a sense of belonging and inclusion that creates cohesiveness loyalty and undying commitment.
In my limited experience all these multi dimensional factors created outside primarily of the group, team.
Leaders inspire and motivates, builds up and is not just honest but seen to be honest fair and of unquestionable integrity.
Just as at our political level there has been wide spread comprehensive failure of leadership, where nepotism, tribalism, religious discrimination and mediocrity thrive. With a very big dose of endemic institutionalised corruption. That characteristic is seen in every government public institution , why should the NFF be different.
Go to Morocco and it's close to being a European nation by infrastructure both physical and socio -ecomomic political . These things impact on everything they do including Thier football.
Until we deal with out multi faceted cancers ,we will struggle to replicate what Morocco had done. True A country's economy and sociopolitical landscape will determine its football too |

It doesn't matter what club you play for, the league you ply your trade in, there's just this monster you transform into when you don the national lteam colors of your country because of one thing; PASSION
Those Moroccans want to die if need be on that pitch. Look at Maguire playing god-mode football because of the passion he has for repping England
Can the same thing be said for our boys? They are more interested in the hailings of "Senior man, Senior Man" they get in every hotel they lodge in Nigeria than they are in playing
I'm not even surprised if thorough investigations reveal that some players have bought and secured a spot in the teams starting eleven or 23 because I don't understand why our players attitude stinks to high heavens
Na force them dey Force you to play for your country? There are many ajegunle boys that told me that if they were given an assignment to man mark Messi in a game for naija to secure national team spot, they don't mind dying and shedding their blood for it (I know this is a bit extreme but you get my point)
It's high time we invite players based on passion and form in the national team colors than our overgrown "Senior Men"
It will not be better from you any players that bought his way in the team. Both him and the bribe receiver will not know peace. The club they ply their trade in will sack them and they will become church rats for making a nuisance of our football. Amen!!
Yea, I said ir |
