TheSuperNerd: Japan: The True WC Nightmare of the Pass Master teams
Courtesy: OptaJoe
2 - Since detailed World Cup records began (1966), there are only two instances of a team losing a game despite attempting 700+ passes:
Spain vs Japan tonight Germany vs Japan last week
The two times it happened came against JAPAN. Wahala for pass master teams.
Japan depicts a team that makes the most of the little they see of the ball. Interesting.
Croatia is next for Japan. Hope NFF is even learning? Hope their "technical committee" is taking notes |

andrewbaba44: I was discussing Poland but you went to bring Ghana saying I was wishing them bad
Your logic is any team that made is to the World Cup is better than naija ,but I shouldn’t mention Italy
You are just pained about missing out of the World Cup while we are all enjoying the games ,even if naija had made it you will always come here to wish them bad
So you really have a problem . No I don't You do |

minfelix: Bros calming down, abeg rest..... not qualifying for the world cup doesn't totally make us a bad team..we lost the qualification ticket due to Ill-luck and one single goal keeping error..all those mad mad pressure osimhen heaped on them in Abuja showed we did some high pressing, I go still blamr osimhen for some of those bicycle kicks wey for don bury Ghana, oga we played Ghana die that day - our away match against Ghana saw a controversial penalty cancelled - our home leg saw osimhen's goal controversially cancelled for offside. The only team playing top notch European style is the Moroccans(that's if they can beat Canada self)..... Our current Nigerian team with competition/tournament Aura/pressure will wire Equador and Qatar in group A. - "................." Will wire Poland and draw to Mexico in group c - ".............." will wire Costa Rica and draw with Japan I Blame the coaching crew, administrations, and players hunger during qualifications... SUPER EAGLES IS STILL A HUGE FORCE TO RECKON WITH IN AFRICA Okay, I love your optimism sha I hope we conquer at next afford, if not then we are still living on past glory |

andrewbaba44: So I cannot say Italy are better than many footballing nations at this world up just because they didn’t make it to the World Cup?
Never knew once you didn’t make it to the World Cup automatically everyone there are better than you
The Netherlands didn’t make it to the last World Cup during 2018 ,but you won’t see anyone here saying we are better than them despite us making it to Russia
There is time for critics ,but common sense is not common sha No one mentioned Italy here. We were discussing naija and you went far to bring Italy which is an outlier statistically. Go online and create an online poll of who wind it all in Nigeria vs Poland and see if the whole wosld will agree with you |

komekn: Agreed without question ❓ albeit a seemingly unpopular opinion here. You'll see them beating their chest as if they have concrete evidence to support it If the SE is so good or even better than Ghana and Poland and costa rica, why are these teams there and have qualified and on the verge on qualifying (if they play their cards right) and we are not. We are sitting at home watching beautiful soccer. I remem er some even saying that Ghana plays jam body football and its boring. If Jam body football will give you a WC win against South Korea, then I want that kind of Jam body football Nigerians refuse to be honest with their soccer and call a spade a spade all on the name of blind patriotism Nigeria will defeat poland . What a joke!!! |

Amedino99: I don't think it's a big ask that we should stop referencing the super eagles everytime makes a comment about teams in the world cup. yes this is the super eagles thread but I feel we can enjoy this world cup on this thread without taking shots at the team with comments like" if we were good as this team why did we not qualify". Also caution those that constantly say we are better than the teams that qualified and even made it to the round of 16 Let's not be one sided in our opinions please |

Our greatness as a footballing nation does not end because we didn't qualify for the world cup. We remain a footballing nation and at least in Africa we are giants. Yes we are better than or at least equal with the Ghana, Cameroon, Egypt etcnof this world. Yes, England is better than Italy Your eye go clear when fifa ranking come out We are not as good as any african team at this world Cup We are in the same level as Qatar at least |

AndSunGorilla: Aliou Cisse becomes 2nd African coach to get to the WC 2nd round after the late Stephen Keshi.
Senegal has wobbled and fumbled several times with Cisse as coach but they stuck with him, and now he has won their 1st ANC and taken them to the 2nd round too.
Let us appoint Amuneke, give him time even if he fails initially and see what he can do. However, the NFF themselves are any coaches nightmare especially the Nigerian born coaches. They frustrated Keshi, did same to Oliseh (according to Oliseh, he was owned many months of salary, he even used his own money to feed the CHAN team), Siasia, his last success with Nigeria was largely through his own efforts, imagine the sports minister and NFF dragging the money given to Sia1s team by the Japanese guy. Me thinks that the money for running the national teams should be seperate from NFF budget and shouldn't be under NFF Just like you budget for salaries of federal workers We have a calendar for national teams for the year and budget for it but not subject to NFF. It should come straight from Head of Service |
