QuietMynd: Like someone already said, the same people hailing armed civilian to fight the military will also be the one to shout war crime when the party starts.
Am very sure north easterner will be willing to pay any amount for peace to reign in their region by now. I won't be surprised if they actually kept silence or even cheers the militant up when the youth were picking up arms that year. I've been saying so myself. He argued with me. When NA starts treating ESN like a terrorist organization, they would start crying foul. The annoying thing is that the harmless citizens would also suffer for the foolishness of some misguided youths. I've always said it, if Nnamdi KANU is a true leader, why isn't he leading on the front lines? why the hide and seek? Are any of his family members in ESN? But some chestbeaters are here urging them on. Okay... |

JOSCOFELIX: please have you seen the security structure they use in the northeast? if not let me explain a little bit. those base being attack are unit not barrack a barrack contain a large number of army and their quatars. it will take God for a barrack to being overrun. those unit in northeast where later brought together and named super camp. so a barrack is not a unit bh/iswapp/ esn will go and attack anyhow. please ratified your statement.. know the different between a barrack and a unit. those unit are spread around with a total of 5 to 20 gun truck and a men of 20-100 men depending on the security situation h Many here talk like him. Out of ignorance just to support their insular narratives. If he doesn't know the difference between a unit and a barrack, then its not worth arguing with him over |

Valkrie:

So the Nigerian army no longer have or keep to rules of engagement again? So cos of ESN they would suddenly start shooting civilians mortars and RPGs...?
Again why are they even after the ESN in the first place...? As far as I know theh do not pose any threat to the army nor do they have the desire to even challenge them...Me think their issue is with the fulani killing people in their bushes...or are you saying the nigerian army is fully backing the fulani killing people everywhere? I don't understand...? Did you read through what i Said carefully? I doubt you did Sir. Please do so first |

The painful thing is that the civilians would really suffer for the sins of a few misguided youths called ESN when the fury of the NA and NAF descends on them. Let's see if their juju will be effective against mortars, machine guns, RPGs and airstrikes |

ariesbull: Do you know that I am igbo.... The truth is that Kanu is more popular than any politician and he is accepted... He doesn't want to contest an election.. he has the people he wants biafra and that is what it is... Unfortunately for Nigeria they are now armed...
Can Nigeria fight war in two fronts .. North East and South East Not palatable but yes Now will be the best time to crush the ESN. I want to believe that they are still in the early stages of their arms development. I prefer peaceful dialogue and a democratic process for the IPOB to air their views than via force of arms |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Blueelf: 10:17am On Jan 30, 2021 |
komekn: Once you have militant inclined groups l ed not by democratic process but coercion, intimidation and disinformation.
You have a very big problem.
They are creating an atmosphere where any criticism against IPOB is met with violence and intimidation.
So Igbo people do not often express their opposing true view in public about Nnamdi and IPOB because of harassment and intimidation.
If Nnamdi was so popular why did he not contest election and win❓ ❓ ❓ That means every state and Federal legislator, Governor from the East will clamour for an Igbo independent state. It will be actualized without much contention.
However, will a landlocked nation that has thrived by integration, association, partnership and participative engagement in multi faceted types of business activities. To incredible success across Africa in particular and the world in general.
Now thrive in ISOLATIONISM in a landlocked country. Look at what BREXIT is doing to the UK it's already on the brink of economic depression.
That's why no sensible and intelligent Igbo man will support the rantings of the megalomaniac Nnamdi and allow himself to be denigrated and plummeted into submission to his idea of democracy. For once, I agree with you. Especially on the purported "popularity" of Nnamdi Kanu |

orient53: Ok.....guys..... This is my contribution to the thread on the manifestation of events durin SSC course 47 screenin
Got to Falgore at exactly 11:32 AM, that place is one heck of a forest (no network)....(for d dssc guys, mk photocopies of ur docs -photoforms -school cert<pri, sec, tertiary>, origin, birth cert, bvn. One copy is enough). Documentation n issue of chest no. commenced right away. (You'll be stayin in tents so, kit up to fight cold... Any color of shoe n blue(jersey short) is allowed but, u must wear the stated requirement to face d board). After documentation, verification was carried out,( this will also contribute in elimination), then medicals (blood pressure, physical test <pile, flatfoot, dental, hernia etc> . Those with severe BP level were singled out, then, the almighty race commenced. We started with 10 km, then the next day, 20km b4 major gen j-boy suggested 30km (that evening, 5km was introduced). Sm days later, eviction kicked in...those With severe BP and over-aged candidates were sent home(this was saturday morning). Another set of 20km n 5km was carried out...also, somwhr along d line, the second wave of medicals commenced (blood test, ECG, urinalysis, xray)..….On the fateful morning of thursday 28th Jan, the result for that medicals was announced, this sent a lot of guys packing. Later that day, the aptitude test was written (in 3 paragragh, introduce ur family bckgrnd, ur course of study and how ur course can assist the military) (who won d last US election, name of operation carried against insurgency in northeast, official name of the training ground, name of army chief as at the time of exercise commencenent, meaning of AU etc). After that, a psycho exams was written, which we still later went for an oral psyco Exam (jst formalities). Then on friday, being today, we faced d board (i was asked to introduce self by d board chair, then offbook questions by board members, then, how my course can assist the army by the board chair), after that, i was at liberty to pack my kaya, then bade falgore goodbye Thanks bro. Wish you sound success |

Whyem15: Well, the new CAS is coming in at a time when Airforce is more powerful than ever before, with several capabilities being inducted and more to come in some month's time. If he doesn't perform better than S.B Abubakar, he will be a greater failure than any we've ever known.
I'm actually very optimistic he will perform, he flew alpha jets against bokoharam. And has been heading the Air component of the counter insurgency operations. The only problem is that there is a lot of pressure on these guys already. The expectation is too much at a time when there is crisis in almost all parts of the country. This here is Buratai's nemesis, he was unfortunate to be the COAS at a time the military was battling insurgents and criminals on several fronts. He added the responsibility of the IGP to his and to be frank, I believe he did better than many of his predecessors would have done if they were to be in his shoes. And Bless you for your statement on Buratai. The Rot in the NPF is the reason for the NA been stretched too thin. In fact, their knack for extrajudicial killings is the major reason we are dealing with BH terrorists today. I dare say that the present NPF IG is no better than his predecessor's |

He even pleaded that he didn't authorize the release of any video and his aide was said to have confessed to releasing the video (in error) without his boss knowing. Is it until he is killed? Haba |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Blueelf: 2:07pm On Jan 28, 2021 |
kabe1: Sadiq Abubakar is the best CAS we've had since the creation of Nigeria. The man totally reformed our Air Force, made it professional and modern.
In terms of PR, the Air Force cleaned up the image of the military in many ways than once. I wish they can keep him on as a consultant.
Burutai also tried his best to build a well armed army, he drove indigenous industrialization, and worked towards building a self sufficient army.
However in terms of training, troop rotation and generally professionalism of the force, he failed.
The incoming COAS should build on his legacy, also work hard on structuring a professional army, well equipped with proper training and with a sound PR structure.
The Navy Chief CNS IBAS also tried to build a well equipped navy. The Navy has continued a legacy of professionalism right from the GEJ era, but in PR they were lacking and only picked up late.
There were a number of high profile successes under him, including indigenization, fleet recapitalization, rescue of ships at sea, piracy went down but the recent kidnapping of 15 Turkish sailors off the coast of Nigeria and the high rate of insecurity in the Bonny waterways puts a dent on his achievements.
The CDS did not do well, up until recently, the army and air force had different separate wars each Chief of service was fighting. While the army was going right, the air force would be going left.
Poor coordination from the office of the CDS. Sadiq Abubakar was one of a kind. Its hard to find a dent in his time as CAS. Buratai failed in the area of training and making the NA a professional fighting force. I heard that TRADOC is usually a dumping ground for Maj Gen about to retire. I hope this isn't true but if it is, then it may explain my our soldiers are said to be poorly trained. Just look at the kit of NAF SF and NA SF and you'd see a difference. As for Ibot Ekwe, I have no comment |
