You guys thinking that regionalization and federalism is the answer. Let me ask you dome questions.

Who will lead the different regions when this restructuring is carried out? Is it not the same tinubus? Or Kalus? Or amaechi's? Or Buhari's?

Do you guys think that having regional governments would automatically make the leaders of those regions saints? Have you all actually thought this through?

Will regionalism automatically kill corruption? Or will it automatically strengthen security in those regions? Is it not these same regions that have been producing senators, rep members and ministers? What have these senators, rep members and ministers contributed to our country?

Make una dey deceive una self you hear...

Nigeria's problem is mostly the kinda people we have.....corruption, nepotism seems ingrained in our DNA...

Let us see whether the Yoruba's won't start practicing ethnicism even in the regional governments or the Igbo's or Hausa's or Fulani's...

They will say "this Yoruba is egba and they can't rule or this Igbo is Afikpo and isn't pure Igbo".... No be Naija again grin grin cheesy grin

The duration of training don't really matter, what matters most is the quality of training. US and UK soldiers don't spend more than 10 weeks in boot camp for basic military training as it is a continuous process as you advance in your career. Infact during the civil war the Nigerian army training for short service was 3 months. Core basic military training for RRI doesn't take more than 4 months the remaining 2 months is usually for seminars, POP rehearsals etc. Last year they only trained for 4 months at depot after which they did POP.
Was about to point out the length of US training as well as the fact that even the US Marines considered elite train for just 13 weeks basic. Its not about the length but the curriculum. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the curriculum for basic hasn't been updated and is very outdated.

Most of our southern elites turn a blind eye to this;as long as their children's future is secure. Even those in the position to help find it difficult to assist job seekers;they rather sell the slots than give them out freely. May God help us.
i was about to point this out.

The real problem lies with the southern elites

if you notice, a northerner is ready to go out of his way to help his unemployed kinsmen. it's not so with southerners. The average southern elite is too proud to relate with an unemployed job seeker. Northerners help their own and southerners do not.

And this, folks, was one of the remote causes of the Rwandan Genocide.

The day I knew we are in trouble in this country was the day I went to the state HQ of the NCS in Apapa during Buhari's first tenure. Every where I turned to, there was a Bala, Usman, Halil, Dikko Yahaya et al waiting to attend to me. I heaved a small sigh of relief when I got to a section where the only thing they do is to sit on their asses and twiddle their thumbs. In this section i finally saw a Bayo and Ifeoma. In every department, 4 out of 5 officers are Northerners, and in some sections, ALL the officers are northerners. My mind boggled.

I saw the same thing when I went to the National HQ of the same NCS in Wuse 3 in 2018. In whole sections the officers were Northerners but it was a bit better here because there were more non-northerners as one moved up the rank and file. Still yet, the lopsided federal representation was glaring. Some of these officers can't even write a simple statement, and the one who attended to me gave me pen and paper to write his report for him after he asked me the correct spellings of some words a couple of times and i gave him. Last last he handed the paper to me and asked me to kukuma continue. I left what I came for to be doing secretary.

Let us be guided. We are in deep shït.

All will be well

How do boko boys get fuel to drive all these gun trucks they are carrying around. Is it like there is a filling station under their custody or what.

I am not a military expert, but to be fair our govt don't what to crush boko haram.

During the civil war, Nig govt used a blockade as a source of weapon to get Biafrans to surrender. Since the govt knows that BH are mostly residing in sambisa and around lake Chad, why can't they together with Niger, Chad and Cameroon form a perimeter around those areas so as to block any form of movt to and from that area. Let's see how they can get their weapons, supplies or even launch an attack.

Except if the govt (like we all know already) are actually part of boko haram.
You make a valid point about the blockade

What really is your interest between the two and how difficult is it for you to save the humanity by saying AMEN to eliminate the real enemy of God (humanity) between the two?

This is where you get it all wrong.
The Nigerian army as an institution is very lazy and sometimes consoles misbehaviors from the ranks.

A while back I saw a video that was trending,
a video of newly graduated female recruits threatening to take hostile actions against civilians.

The first thing that came to my mind is if this recruits are thought the basic dos and don'ts in training.

Do we train our recruits like rebels or weting dey sup.?

The average Nigerian soldier thinks he is the law.

All this boils down to training.

No soldier in a forward thinking army would behave like a thug and it would get over looked by the provost Marshalls
Thank you for this

I said it before and I say it again, if TRADOC Minna can't do its job, let them scrap it or reorganize

Oga, its all there for us to see

Stop blackmailing people to carry weapons and fight. If thry do well, we praise them like we praise Late Abu Ali (Rest his wonderful soul)

They are mostly uncoordinated and bereft of basic tactics. Planting of head should have been outdated and banned but trust them to stick with mediocrity.

Are we saying there are no brilliant officers? NO. But they are few and far between and in fact those rare breed of officers rely on their ingenuity and not the nonsense taught at Depot and NDA

See disorganization..you'll see them shooting sporadically and most time, you can't even tell who the leader/officer is

Leave the generals a bit. Forward operations take ingenuity from the officers on ground. If this is the best they could come up with, I am very ashamed of them.

Haba!
Bro, not to inflame tempers but hope you see my point about the quality of training given to these officers.

Is the NDA just for show or is the SSC course just for gra gra?

What type of training do we give our soldiers? Is it yo plant head alone or just go through unnecessary hardship while ignoring battle tactics.

I have always said it and I will continue to say this; TRADOC of NA is at the root of our Army's problems and if that organization can be revamped, then we may yet see better fighting men

CAF and FIFA need to start penalizing countries that do not have have stadia up to standard for World cup qualifiers. These postponments are getting ridiculous. We should've had a handful of 2nd round games completed by now!
You have a point but please understand that the lack of a FIFA standard stadium in a country may be due to other factors besides corruption in their FA... things like GDP, insecurity etc.

In those cases, it may be unfair for FIFA to swiftly penalise them without first seeing how they (FIFA) can help out
