Mass comm students don suffer for Ibime hand . But Ibime’s computation is actually correct using normal compound interest formula to answer the hypothetical question for the scenario painted . |
afrodoc: ![]() I will never forget that day's experience. Imagine watching TV without expecting much from the president's inaugural speech and u suddenly hear "Subsidy is gone" ! I dropped everything I was doing, took the car to go look for fuel because of the impending fuel scarcity that will follow the speech and I found out a lot of people were already out before me sef. Most filling stations already had queues while the ones still selling started closing their gates to hoard the old stock they have in order to sell at the new price. Imagine government wey don give person that kind headache from its first day in office. |
Today is 29th May, it's exactly 2 years since Tinubu said "Subsidy is gone" and things have never remained the same again. |
iamoyindamola:Thanks, I just checked and confirmed now . |
iamoyindamola:Alright, thank u |
If Tinubu no finish this country , make I know wetin cause am …. 🚶🚶🚶 Company wey dem incorporate in May 2024 win bid for oil block in December 2024. 😲 Una wey dey support Tinubu, hope the the block dey lap for una side as e dey lap for Tinubu and associates' table o?
|
Iamoyindamola please do u have download link for Gomorrah series ? I read it is also a very nice series packed with action . I won’t mind the link to all the 5 seasons |
diggz:But Kanu na Igbo man and he’s the complete opposite . Kanu Dey give yanfu-yanfu when they ask him for tips at the airport . It is the same Kanu that his wife had to call his brother Ogbonna out because he dey use Kanu kids’ ticket to go watch match for free with his own family members . |
Ibime:Omo ! I like people like Okocha who know how to say no to billings. I read a similar account of how tight fisted Okocha was during his time in the super eagles . They said when they go for international friendliest and tournaments and they come back to Naija , right from the airports the players are expected to drop something for the immigration guys and almost all the airport staff who would be hailing them right from when their plane lands . Most of the players being big boys almost always give out their entire match bonus as tips but it can never be Okocha . No matter how much they hailed him, Okocha no Dey gree drop a single pound or dollar . I guess that was where word started going round that Okocha is stingy ![]() |
raumdeuter:You see say make we no hold our governors? One day we will talk about the farce described as "increased earnings" i the face of time value of money. |
Una speed Darlington fans no dey update again about his latest feature in the news for the wrong reasons; Pedophilia? https://www.nairaland.com/8437419/needed-controversy-promote-song-speed In 2022, Speed Darlington had in an Instagram live revealed an altercation he had with a neighbour who accused him of getting too close to a 16-year-old girl. |
Emaprince:Wait for them come and tell u he shared the proceeds from the subsidy removal with the governors, so u should go and hold ur governors accountable. Smh |
TemporaryHansel:Dey play! People wey don dey explain and defend this move already on twitter . Dem say he wan use the money plan and develop Nigeria such that all the infrastructure deficit we've had over the years , the gap will be bridge within the few years of his presidency. Dem say Tinubu with this move is taking us back to the path of prosperity. Omo! I never see this kind thing before for my life, make people dey lie to themselves confidently . Imagine thinking Tinubu who awarded a multi trillion naira project like the Coastal road to his Lebanese friend without following due process is interested in returning Nigeria to one yeye path of properity ![]() |
Ibime:He's playing the long game ![]() |
Ibime:He allegedly paid off $3.4b IMF loan and then plans to borrow fresh $21b. No be juju be that ? 🤷♂️ |
Ibime:This one is a hit from him trust me . From episode one to the end it’s all action , scheming , betrayal and bloodshed . You will like it |
Iamoyindamola that mobland series is the bomb! It has everything one wants in a crime drama; I give it to those UK people dem sabi do crime/gang series with full action. Can't wait for episode 10 to come out. |
When Tinubu was removing subsidy they said all those money meant for subsidy payment which are now being will be utilized for infrastructure , cushioning the effects of subsidy removal and reducing poverty . Today Tinubu is seeking to borrow over 21 billion dollars , over 2 billion euros and over 15 billion Yen to finance those same aforementioned mega cost center . Of course the rubber stamp house of assembly won’t ask plenty questions before granting his loan request. Una wey Dey para say Obi supporters don’t fancy Atiku being the face of the coalition , I have news for u. You have bigger worries bigger than the coalition sef . Tinubu with that kinda financial war chest will tear to shreds any form of coalition irrespective of who is leading it . Make everybody just rest and watch the film being set before our eyes. |
liveLongNprospa:The reason why u see people like Akpabio , Orji Uzor Kalu, Ben Bruce , etc endorsing him is because stealing and corruption is not something that can get u jailed under this administration except u are unfortunate to be playing on the wrong team when ur hand is caught in the cookie jar. I watched the video of the EFCC chairman making excuse for Tompolo suggesting the video of him abusing the Naira may be Ai and I just shook my head . So suddenly EFCC can give suspects right to fair hearing. It’s not even about tribalism or anything ; everybody just feels that if Tinubu with all his baggage’s can be the president of the country ; then why will they that have very little comma here and there in their story not be able to enjoy the political goodwill that comes with kissing the ring ? 🤷♂️. It’s not like ur lips will be removed when u kiss the ring sef |
Ibime:I saw a video of Arsenal’s Gabriel Meghaeles watching Arsenal v Madrid second leg with his family in his living room. The family members consist mainly of brothers , sisters , cousins , etc. In my mind I was wondering what it would cost him to make all of those family members live comfortably well just because he now plays for a top club and earns big . Big money big problems . |
TemporaryHansel:There’s a particular politician who represented Somolu constituency at the Lagos state house of assembly for 4 terms i. e 16 years as a member of Lagos state house of assembly . His name is Rotimi Olowo. He decided to step up to Federal House of assembly in 2023 so he collected APC nomination form for Federal house of reps for 2023 elections.. Due to the electoral act 2022 that forbids a candidate from holding two nomination forms at the same time , he couldn’t get the Lagos state house of assembly nomination form as insurance in case his federal house of assembly fails. ( This same law affected Akpabio and Ahmad Lawan but they bent the law and worked their way back to senate after contesting APC presidential Primary ) Unfortunately for him, he lost the APC primary for the federal house of assembly post and he can’t go back for the state house of assembly own. That was how he lost out and wasn’t on ballot at all during the 2023 general elections . This man stayed just 2 years out of office and guess what ? He contested the recently concluded APC primaries for Somolu Local Government. I mean someone who was a state house of assembly member is contesting to be a local government chairman within 2 years of not chopping politics money. This is to buttress ur point that once they taste public funds , there’s no going back. They will do everything possible to find their way back to the cookie jar . |
TemporaryHansel:Nigerians just like to dey get headache ontop non issues. Even abroad sef, people wey dey do normal regular jobs no dey fit afford all those super fast and exotic cars some top athletes and billionaires drive. |
Bombblacks:I think u are right and Raumdeuter is also not wrong. Yes footballers are wasteful and they tend to spend the money the way it comes. I think the suddeness around how some of these sportsmen get to be to luxurious life suddenly despite not growing up in money may be responsible for such erratic behaviour. Some of them just see money and and they begin to think about the thousand and one things they can do with all that money. Raumdeuter is right when he said sportsmen go broke easily because they have a short career window to make money which they are expected to spend for the rest of their lives. i,e make money within 15 year career and u are expected to spend the money for at least 20 or more years of your life.(This is assuming u start playing professional 18, u play for 15 years and retire 33 years after which u may live for another 27 years to clock 60) In pension management , there is what they call Longevity Risk i.e. the risk that an individual will outlive his income. This risk almost always crystalize for sportsmen because their own retirement age comes earlier than every other profession and the person is expected to live on his accumulated income till death comes calling which may not happen for some people until 30 to 40 years after retirement . |
Ibime:I think I get the reason behind this retraction notice. Something tells me Sahara reporters in their article alleged the Uwadia person and the named company were complicit in the arms scandal but after several years there was no court pronouncement that confirms their culpability. The article was posted here and has since been cached on the internet. I believe Sahara reporters had retracted the article but somehow a google search on the allegation always leads to Nairaland ; so they had to give our oga the option of either removing the article off nairaland or face a defamation suit since there's no how nairaland can prove the the content of the article is wrong. I just hope our oga and nairaland get legal adviser because sooner or later , issues of this nature may lead to serious lawsuit in the future. Especially if it is involving foreign entities who have culture of suing first instead of asking for retraction. |
TemporaryHansel:The author of this article just Dey vex on top nothing . ![]() The whole “it’s not for civil servant “ thingy is not that deep if u ask me. Someone selling exotic cars has his target audience and for sure his target audience are not civil servants if we are being truthful . I don’t think any civil servant should feel down because of the guy’s adverts, except he or she has low self-esteem . I mean why will I be pissed that someone is selling something I can’t afford ? 🤷♂️. Even people who earn way better than civil servants can’t afford most of the cars that Abuja guy sells ; so what’s the fuss ? I’m sure his target audience who are people with old money , politicians , flamboyant businessmen , etc see his adverts and buy from him |

iamoyindamola:If this one is the one that starts 12am and ends 5am, I doubt it will make the news. All those ones na normal thing wey most people residning within Ikorodu have been used to. |
izzou:Well, there are some they do throughout daytime in which they will announce on radio. Around 2009 or thereabouts I was hustling somewhere in Imota, Ikorodu and back then they had one of their festivals that included oro. The curfew was all day; there was no human movement within the town all through the day. Only few cars driving past the express that passed through the outskirts of the town. Maybe things have changed now, but I know back then that they do all day oro. Most people working outsite Ikorodu but living within Ikorodu either stay back at home or they don't come home from work till next day |
iamoyindamola:They ought to restrict their oro to strictly night curfew, it makes no sense preventing people from going about their lawful business in this Tinubu economy when hunger dey for town |
Iamoyindamola Dem say una dey do Oro today wey be children's day ![]() https://www.nairaland.com/8436392/oro-ikorodu-childrens-day |
izzou:There’s a limit to where propaganda can take u. |
https://www.nairaland.com/8435375/questions-over-port-harcourt-refinery Obasanjo said this refinery would not work and should be disposed of. APC governments pump billions of dollars into revamp of the refinery and even insulted OBJ over his position on the workability of the refineries which is actually based on experts' opinion . NNPC even mockingly invited him to come and see the refinery "working". Fast forward to 6 months they are shutting down same refinery for "maintenance". Na wa o. There is utter lack of transparency ; money just keeps getting pumped into the refineries without any visible result. I think they need to swallow their pride and sell off the refineries to private investors once and for all. |
