So what exactly is this lockdown that Atiku has on the NW and NE?

We never even start, Kaduna, part of Kano and Kebbi don swear oath for Tinubu, and Atiku has the North on lockdown?

Ehn, Nwanne?
APC will literally write results in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi and Borno that are currently experiencing Insurgency/banditry crisis

My own concern is that the PDP bloc that Atiku is supposed to bring into the coalition, is more scattered than ever

The Southern side is saying a big NO to him. NO in Caps Lock.

Leave them let them be vexing for the wrong set of people.

The Atiku they are trying to force down our throat has not even learnt from his mistake in the last election. There is no indication that he has set out to mend fences particularly with some of the PDP governors and party big wigs that fell out with him in the run off to the 2023 elections. People like Seyi Makinde are there, there is no indication that Atiku has reached out to them. The same arrogancy his supporters are displaying is what he himself is displaying and will most likely be his end.

At least everyone knew Obi didn't have a strong foothold in the north which affected his showing in the northern votes. That same Obi has been going all around the country; especially the north donating , constructing boreholes and trying to touch the lives of the poor people in their numbers. Beyond occasional public commentary on Tinubu's government , what step has Atiku taken to expand his voting bloc?

The only solution that comes to his mind is forcefully convert Obi supporters to vote for him while not even minding some of his own support base that have since left him. They are not looking at PDP governors who are dumping the party and carrying the full elected officials in the states to join body.

Where did Atiku lose the North in the last election? He didnt. If we add the votes in the NE and NW together for the 3 major candidates, Atiku won
North West Tinubu scored more votes than him. In the North Central The 6 states were shared between the 3 candidates and he still had APC dragging North East with him.

Anybody who hear them talking about him having northern votes in the bag will think the whole northern states will vote him in without thinking twice

Make he go warm eba chop abeg.

He obviously can't be VP twice.

A lot of southerners will not vote for him when Buhari just finished 8 years not quite long

He should go and rest, there's nothing he want to offer Nigeria at 81 years old. Nigeria's presidency should not be what people see as medium to achieving their life long ambition.

Atiku is closer to where he's going to than where he's coming from; politicians know this, and they'd make calculations having that in mind, looking to make bets that guarantee the present (Tinubu), or the present/future (Obi). It doesn't help Atiku that he's faced with a vicious foe in the person of Tinubu who's determined to strip him of his political structure...for a politician that's relied primarily on structure and not personal charisma to navigate the political scence, that's a huge blow.

Atiku and his fans have the odds stacked against them, and they'd do well to come into any negotiation from a place of humility and not arrogance. Guilt-tripping won't work either, the time for that was 2023 and Peter Obi's votes (INEC released) show he ain't Atiku's little nigga no more cheesy...people are ready and will take their chance with Obi alone going into 2027.

I think any ticket with Atiku at the top going into 2027 is not going to fly, but 24 months is a long time in politics, let's watch and see how it goes.
Exactly!

Atiku with his political structure intact polled 6.9m and Obi relying on his personal charisma polled 6.1m. Why should Obi kowtow and accept to be Atiku's VP?

That is your right.

Let me recap.
In 2023, you voted for Obi when he had no chance of winning. Tinubu benefits.
In 2027, you will not vote for an hypothetical Atiku/Obi coalition ticket that Obi personally touts as the best path forward. Tinubu benefits.

It is also my right to tell you both actions taken together make you a closet Tinubu supporter.
And that your harsh comments about Tinubu's administration should at best be taken with a grain of salt.

Larride has complained about some Tinubu missteps.
Larride will vote for Tinubu in 2027, as is his right.
Larride is a Tinubu supporter.
Na you dey turn amala say you no be Tinubu supporter after potentially delivering for Tinubu both times when it mattered.
Talk is cheap. When the rubber meets the road, we all now know you will work for Tinubu directly or indirectly.

Whatever makes u sleep well at night.

When the time comes Atiku will lose as usual and u will have ur chance to wail about how Obi supporters didn't allow him win while turning blind eye to his numerous baggage's. Let him go and chill in Dubai as usual and expect miracle to happen.

And once again I will criticize Tinubu's government and point his mess up out. Anybody wey wan get migrane about that, na their palava be that.

When they talk about Atiku having northern votes in the bag, one would be wondering if it is the same Atiku that was defeated in his home zone by a southerner or another one. Maybe we should also talk about how Atiku riding on PDP a mega party polled 9k votes in Anambra that has always been a PDP state in the past.

We ask simple question: "What does Atiku bring to the table apart from his Name (which obviously seem to carry less weight like it used to in the past)?", na full textbook we dey read on why Obi and his supporters must vote Atiku or be labelled Tinubu closet admirer.

You want to talk about VP's wielding power u skipped the last 2 VPs and the incumbent VP, u conveniently went to do a blast-from-the-past by using Atiku as an example of a powerful VP. We saw how powerful Namadi Sambo was, we saw how Osinbajo was given free hand to operate under Buhari na and we are seeing Shettima having his way amongst the Lagos boys in surrounding the president.

The bottom line is that you are an Obidient but will not vote for Obi in a coalition he negotiated to be VP.

That makes you an agent of Tinubu working for his second term.
Anything else you're saying is a load of horse sh*t.

-Lord
I am not an Obidient. I am a Nigerian who voted for Obi in the last election and will note vote for Atiku if he's on the ballot whether Obi decides to contest or not.

No be u go tell me who I go vote for. When u said u will only vote Atiku or Jonathan, did u see me fighting with u over ur personal political decision ? Did I gaslight u and start calling u names? If u don't want to be drawn into diatribes , then u will respect my own decision not to vote the 81 year old Dubai resident in 2027.

I will complain about Tinubu's administration like every other person when he's taking decisions that can 4ck the country up. I'm sure Atiku too will continue to complain if and when he loses the election again. Nothing spoil.

Atiku that can't mend fences with his own people/party is whom he is under the illusion that he will unseat Tinubu. smh.

Almost all the south south states that had PDP in power are embracing APC , but he is under the illusion that Atiku still has them on lockdown.

PDP is still being troubled by a faction led by Wike boys, that has not been sorted by Atiku o. The south western states bar Oyo are tilting towards APC. Even the Oyo state governor makinde has no love for Atiku and still feels he squandered the party's chance of winning the 2023 elections.

All of these is not their own headache, na people wey say dem no go vote Atiku/Obi if Obi belittles himself into accepting the incosequential VP slot be their headache.

I specifically take issue with #5.
Only gen alphas will opine that VPs can't be powerful in Nigeria.
That's not a foreign concept. It happened before. Idiagbon. Recently with Atiku who Obasanjo had to beg to complete his second term and who scuttled Obasanjo's third team bid.

Also, it is quite interesting that in 2023, you all were adamant that Obi would win when the lack of core Northern votes made him unelectable.
But here you are, 2 years before an election, calling it quits and taking the time to come up with a long list of reasons why a coalition of Atiku and Obi that earned 13 million votes in 2023 does not stand a chance after Tinubu's performance.
How do you consistently make decisions that benefit Tinubu politically but want to gaslight critics with shalaye.

Somehow Obi who could beat Atiku and Tinubu in 2023 cannot tag team with Atiku to beat Tinubu after an admittedly disastrous half term.
Get a grip!
Politicians are defecting. That's your excuse. How many politicians defected to LP in 2021 for Obi to get 6 million votes?
How many politicians did Obi serenade in 2021 to get 6 million votes?
Atiku did have the Northern vote in 2023. Look at the vote tally. Tinubu did not win any KKK state.
That was not a fluke. If you all Tinubu agents hadn't voted for a political terrorist, Atiku will be president today.
And if in 2027, you shun an Atiku/Obi ticket to sit at home or vote Tinubu, accept wholeheartedly that you worked for Tinubu's second term.

We've had excessive wailing on this thread and elsewhere on social media about Tinubu's misgovernance.
You could swear that Tinubu was the worst President in Nigeria's history.
Then you get the opportunity to change things and you--admittedly one of his loudest critics--are coming up with a list of excuses why you will not vote a ticket with Obi on it.

Tinubu is a failure. But you will not vote for an Obi alternative.
I want y'all to go on the record. So we know any Tinubu complaints going forward are theatrics and mental gymnastics.
You cannot call an election 2 years early and forego a rescue ticket and coalition with your savior in it, and you want to play-act as a Tinubu critic.

-Lord
This one u are crying more than the bereaved, it appears as tho u have seen a revelation that Atiku will fail once more(Like he usually does). Shebi Atiku has what it takes to unseat Tinubu with his so called northern votes in the bag, let him go and win the election na. Is it a must that we vote for him with his numerous baggage?

The so called north that should be Atiku's strong forthe, he was flogged there in 2023. So what exactly is he bringing to the coalition ? At least Obi swept the South east, did well in the south south and fairly well in the south west .

What u call wailing about Tinubu's misgovernance , I hope u know Atiku ur god is an active participant in the wailing fest. He would always find his voice to wail but when it comes to speaking truth to power on what concerns the general populace like the religious extremism that ended the life of Deborah, he would lose his voice .

Whether u like it or not, we cannot be gaslighted to vote the perennial election loser in his 81st year on earth. Please advise him to spend more time with his grand kids and great grandkids and allow younger candidates who have the interest of this country at heart to chart a new course for the country

Avoiding accidents has to be very intentional, starting from the character of the driver. All these bans change nothing.
In addition to this, I think they need to educate the drivers that every road user including private car owners have equal rights and right of access to the roads. They should stop feeling because their trucks are big they own the road and can run off smaller vehicles off the road.

Some of those drivers will sit up high in their truck and be looking down on other vehicle owners. Sometimes if u no get mind, u go wan park make dem commot before u continue ur journey. If our road safety were to be working effectively, they should be arresting them for overload, drunk driving and overspeeding . Atiku had 7m with the help of pdp structure in the last election.
That structure has been destroyed.
Just yesterday senators declared they were not with him.
PDP governors have not declared any support for atiku.
His former vp has left him for apc so meaning he has no cash cow to fund his state.
Tinubu has already started working on finitri in adamawa.
Wike and the g5 are still fighting against atiku.

So again, what is Atiku guaranteeing us?
We all saw what obi has done without structure, why should we support a ticket that puts atiku at the head when Obi is the one still active even after elections and his base growing stronger.

Between Obi and atiku, who is the politician that people will be ready to fight for?
I mean it's not like atiku has more money than Obi.

So truly why should Obidients support a ticket with atiku at head when he is of no electoral value right now without the pdp structure.
If he wants to be vp candidate then sure, but any ticket that doesn't have Obi at the top after all the work he has put in.. Then you must be smoking kwale weed (and trust me I can recognize the effect of that particular strain😁)
Just look at how they are trying to gaslight people into supporting Atiku who for over 30 years has always believed he is the only one that can save Nigeria without anything concrete to show for it.

The structure they may claim he has keeps getting depleted almost on weekly basis with members of the party jumping off the sinking ship......Even if he leaves PDP to SDP with dem El-Rufai, those ones with a handful of other politicians won't save the Dubai man from being disgraced at the polls again.

So southerners will open eyes to vote an Atiku who can't even speak truth to power when serious issues like the Deborah case involving the northern religious extremity is concerned?

Those that want to stan Atiku should go ahead and do so, some of us will avoid him like a plague Irrespective of how he rebrands himself to deceive those who are willing to be deceived

Speak for yourself.

It is politically f**lish to pick a fight with Tinubu with 2 years to go.
You'd get the Saraki treatment.

Anyone who is remotely in a challenging political position will dance to whatever song Tinubu is playing.
The moment of truth will come in Q4 2026.
Atiku will have to prove he has the wherewithal to achieve the critical mass to unseat an incumbent.
He needs the Northern oligarchy behind him and Obi's SE stranglehold.
In 2027, the SS and MB will be fair weather allies.
They'll swing for whomever has momentum.

The issue for Atiku is that only Atiku desperately wants Tinubu out in 2027.
In 2031, Obi will be courted by every Northern aspirant.
He'll be given a blank check to name a price.
Everyone in the North who does not have a personal grievance with Tinubu, like El Rufai, would be fine with Tinubu getting 4 more years.
It only means a delay to the retribution they've cooked for Tinubu's political family. It's inevitable.
The only question is when the hammer comes down. The North can wait.

I'll only support Atiku or Jonathan in 2027.
If neither is a frontrunner, I'll sit at home.
I have no qualms whatsoever with Tinubu doing a second term.
If Buhari can complete 8 years, why not Tinubu?

A lot of maybes, ifs and wishful "what could be" in this post with nothing really substantial.

1. For starters, Atiku has proven consistently oved the past 30 years that he does not have what it takes to win a presidential election.with him as the flag bearer of his party. Gaslighting any section of people in the opposition to support him will.not make him the president..

2. It is 2025 and u can see most politicians in the north and south declaring their support for Tinubu. Maybe you don't know these defection have implications particularly on areas where me and u do not have eyes and ears; places where we will only hear their results being read on the media. The voting results in these areas will be written and announced and there's nothing anybody will do about it.

3. Atiku claimed to have north in his political bag in 2023 when there was no Tinubu incumbencg power, we all.know how that claim tor to shreds by results trickling out of the north after collation.

4. The people Atiku had issues with in his PDP have not even been pacified yet; in fact he has made more adversaries and kept on losing his supporters including his VP in the 2023 elections.

5. Anybody u like u can support, it is a free world and a democracy. But it is evident that a lot of people who had voted in 2023 with hope to see an Obi presidency will abstain from the elections the moment he decides to be an extra Tyre to Atiku. This is Nigeria and Nigerians have seen the "power" VPs carry
