The guy is more likely to rob, kidnap, or kill for money ritual than kill himself.

Right now, the people are fighting one another but a time will come when they realize who their real enemies are. As a great philosopher once said, "One day go be one day".
You are right doc, If anybody loose guard that guy will most likely carry any money he sees in sight.

After then, we will see our Prosperity.

While I was cutting my hair over the weekend, my barber narrated the discussion he had with one of his customers on Friday.

The man is keke rider, he got the keke on hire purchase. The actual cost of the keke is N3m but it was given to him on hire purchase for N4.2m. ( I was shocked that keke now sells for N3m shocked)

The man usually delivers weekly to the owner. Due to the hike in price of fuel the man has not been able to gather enough for his weekly deliver and on top of that, he was unfortunate that police men stopped him and towed the keke to Area command. Now he's looking for money to deliver to the owner as well as money to bail the keke parked inside police area command.

He said the man kept on hissing while he was cutting his hair and that was what prompted him to ask what exactly his problem is. If that man commits suicide out of frustration a lot of people won't know it is the economic hardship under this government that pushed him to the brink.

But Mikel did say salary terms were agreed- with both sides making compromises
If u watch the AriseTV analysis , u will hear the guy mentioning it that Mikel was the go-between for the Osimhen-Chelsea deal. Initially Chelsea owners being American capitalists wanted to take advantage of the Osimhen situation at Napoli, they discussed with Napoli and not Osimehn himself initially and when they did, they offeried him wages below his expectations.

Mikel is here saying both parties eventually had to shift position. These things are not hard for one to figure out if you don't have anything against Osimehn.

I've stopped discussing the Osimehn saga until he decided to give me a mention again like he's discovered gold on the matter.

What about your sport analyst that said Chelsea disrespected him and you agreed
You are speaking from both sides of the mouth now, so osihmeh agreed to deal after all the he can't take pay cut monbo jumbo
The same way we don't know the real story is the same way you don't know because someone entered arise to yarn dust doesn't mean he's right
I hope we can all rest
lol. grin

I'm sure u delibrately skipped the part where Mikel mentioned "Chelsea also compromised" . If you didn't then maybe you don't understand what compromise means.

Right from the onset I had mentioned that when push comes to shove, Osimehn will stay on the bench till January and he will eventually move to a club that agrees with his wage demands with Napoli being on the losing end. They will pay his salary for over 4 months without him kicking the ball and he will go at a lesser fee.

Nothing Mikel has said has invalidated the AriseTV sports analyst position on the whole transfer saga. Mikel has only confirmed that Osimehn is willing to move to Chelsea with both parties arriving at a compromise/middle ground

You will think all the people building in Lagos, and getting their properties demolished are foolish, until e reach your turn

Baba a lot of injustice has happened in this country. I'm sure when Maroko was being demolished , we had people who supported the government in power that they were taking the right steps. Just see below the excerpts of the shege victims faced back then:

Eleven years old Bose Atie, a primary five student of Kuramo Primary School, Victoria Island, had walls fell on her at her father’s house located on 20, Seriki Street, Maroko, during the demolition and died instantly. The father J.O. Atie now lives sorrowfully in his block 347 flat 2, Ilasan Housing Estate.

Seventy years old Chief Anitini (aka California), the owner of the popular California Cinema, California Hotel and California Bakery, who also owned other 17 buildings including the building that housed the branch of Cooperative Bank, all in the then Maroko, having suffered physical beating with butts of guns by soldiers, died weeks later.
Tragically, Alhaji Akasholojuro of 14 Buraimoh Street, Maroko, had his wife Awawu, and the children drowned in the Five Cowries Lagoon while trying to ferry their salvaged properties across to Ikoyi waterside.

Folakemi Agogo, a widow, lost two of her sons, Olugbenga, 18 and David 8 during the struggle to get alternative accommodation.
Most of the displaced people of Maroko were stranded in open places after the forceful eviction in July 1990.
More agonising for the Maroko people was that the time of the demolition was in mid July; which means there was heavy rain coupled with the coastal winds associated with such areas. Days after the demolition, the residents were spilled all over the villages in Lagos and in neighbouring Ogun state. Some moved to church yards and under the bridges. Treasured monuments such as: pictures at infancy, marriage albums, college certificates, pictures and similar records were lost as a result.
Guess what ? The same Lagos government that justified why it had to demolish maroko later admitted in court the demolition was done in error.

Investigation shows that the Lagos state High Court had also admitted in 1991 that the demolition of Maroko was done in error. There was an injunction by the Lagos Appeal Court that the Lagos state government should leave the vacated Maroko land untouched till the matter is finally determined but the judgment was not obeyed by both the Lagos state government and the other gladiators in the Maroko tussle.

Also, at the Supreme Court, Abuja, in the year 2002, the then Lagos state Commissioner for Justice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, now Vice President of Nigeria, admitted that though, government acquired Maroko town in 1972, it again relinquished the acquisition in 1977; thereby confirming that Maroko was not under government acquisition when it was demolished in 1990.

The Lagos state government subsequently accepted responsibility through Yemi Osinbajo and promised the evictees 1,000 housing units every year, till the whole former house-owners of Maroko are fully resettled. This promise was also yet to be implemented as at the time of this research.
When I see people fixated on defending government actions at all cost, I just shake my head.

it has happened to me repeatedly in my professional life.

lagos state has never demolished any of our structure without prior notice.

the process is always teh same - contravention notice, second notice , final warning, demolition notice.

today they take the picture and time stamp it so no one can claim it was not done.

we had a situation where we were told our facility would be demolished for road related works. they dropped the demolition notice, and then went to sleep for six months. we actually were thinking maybe we should not have exited as quickly as we did. then one morning, out of the blue without any notice, they came to demolish.

we built a station in orile and when we built it my immediate boss who is a guy who thinks he is smarter than he is insisted on putting temporary structures in the right of way/setback because we had space constraints. one year later they came for us and we had to take it all down.

this is the thing. the construction approval process is often slow and tedious and there is the temptation to fast track. the problem is that after fast tracking everyone goes to sleep and does not complete the documents. so when there is a change of guard or a sudden enforcement drive, there will be trouble.
Baba all this one u are saying is because the properties demolished are those of ur clients and not urs directly. God forbid, the day a loved one or ur direct property is affected; u won't care whether it is APC , LP or PDP government that demolished it. You will voice your displeasure loud and clear.

I understand that man's pains; he lost a N150m worth of investment and according to his twitter thread, over 50 direct staff will be out of job. On his twitter thread , the man claimed he has C of O and every necessary title documents and approval. If FCT housing authority can take his property down, what makes u think some people who were LASBCA victims in Lagos were not in same shoes while he was praising LASBCA.

The lesson in all of this is : DON'T MOCK A PAIN YOU HAVEN'T ENDURED.

Baba, I've seen people go from 100 to 0 because of all these government demolitions. Nobody should be defending government for some of these demolitions because if you probe really deep, you will discover it's all about government land grabbing and nothing else.

As a little boy my old man told me about the history of Maroko and how the original occupants were evicted from where we now call Victoria Island; I learnt not to trust government and its officials from that maroko incident. Some of us are critical of government because of the history we know and those things happening all over again.

Anybody that wants to learn about Maroko incident can read the below business day link to the story.

However corrupt lasbca is, there is always a paper trail showing when the first notice was issued. This is not a like for like case because most of the enforcement bodies in Abuja are run by barely literate thugs. Then add the fact that you have wike who has never followed process running things.

Fashola claimed they gave Dangote the land he built his refinery on for free and he didn’t pay anything .

Nine years later Dangote claimed he paid $100m for the same land and that he never received anything for free .

Now the indigenes have sued Lagos state government to come out and explain if indeed $100m was collected by LASG for their ancestral land and what was done with the money.

I won’t be surprised if the court throw the case out based on technicality

This is what I was saying about that Osimhen matter . Nigerians are mostly hypocrites , but will support bad behaviors and even defend the indefensible when they are not the ones directly affected .

The moment they are affected , they will suddenly discover their voice and start speaking against what they supported in the past.

I remember months back when we had discussions centered around all these demolition going on in Lagos. A lot of people believe people whose buildings are being demolished are automatically guilty and that the government is blameless . Some people felt the owners of the buildings didn’t do enough due diligence , blah blah blah…..

I’m sure if you tell this man that he didn’t do due diligence before he started his poultry in Abuja he will never agree with u and will cuss you out. The fact that the government didn’t even give him notice to allow him evacuate his birds makes his case pathetic .

This is just a lesson for all of us that we should be more kinda with our words and put ourselves in people’s shoes When discussing their misfortune in the hands of government and its officials

Na wa ooo.
The problem u guys are having is that those Americans are taking their investment in Chelsea football like pure venture capitalist in the normal production and service industry .

Like they are seeing it like Coca Cola (Nigerian Bottling company ) buying Chi foods (producers of hollandia ). They want a situation where within a year of buying over the company it’s share capital increases , the company becomes more profitable and they can beat their chest they made a good business decision (most likely give the financial analysts more pay raise ).

Unfortunately for them, a football club is not like that . A lot can go wrong with a football club; u can buy wrong set of players , u can hire the wrong coach with a wrong tactics on a long term contract , ur star player can get injured and it will affect the club’s performance , etc.

Abrahamovic was still the best that could ever happen to Chelsea . He could invest without batting an eyelid and still hire and fire just to get desired results .

From where I stand , it is a long lonely road for the club as far as these American investors are concerned

Like Treblechamp rightly said , I’ve been following election cycles for a while now and I’ve not really seen Senatorial and HOR candidates do much campaign beyond posters and bill boards that has their face , their party’s governorship candidate and presidential candidate.

When the governorship and presidential candidates of their party comes to campaign in their senatorial district/constituency , they will ensure they wet the ground and arrange crowd whom they will speak to. The governorship and presidential candidates will raise their hand and that’s all.

The rest of their own campaign is about sharing money , souvenirs and sometimes fighting the rival party’s candidate on their campaign tour. I’ve seen this happen in different campaign cycle over time.

That’s why people of questionable character and intelligence always make it to the house of assembly and they really can’t come up with good laws that will move the country forward .
