There's no way in my post where I said Old testament doesn't matter. Jesus Christ came to perfect the law, not to abolish it. The Pharises and Scribes held on to moses law and Jesus called them hypocrites and liars.

When they asked Jesus about the law and which one of moses Law was the greatest commandment, Jesus responded in Mark 12: 30 - 31, "Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strenght. The second is this; Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."

Check moses 10 commandment and the 2 Jesus gave and you will see that those 10 moses commandment are in the 2 that Jesus said.

I said Jesus did not judge the adulterous woman in accordance with the law of Moses rather he allowed her the second chance of going to sin no more . Christianity is based on Jesus not on the bible. The bible is the combination of account of word of God revealed to his disciples, letters written by the apostles of christ and the first 5 books of the new testament were eye witness account of Jesus by his disciples, that's why they contain direct quote from Jesus.

Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith. Not the bible. Any doctrine that doesn't have Jesus as its cornerstone isn't christianity. There's a reason why the bible say judgement will start from the house of God.

My dad was a Muslim ; someone like u who challenged some of these things that some sects tried to make the norm. Growing up I watched him disputing some of the things some Islamic clerics said on TV. He believed they were interpreting some of those things to suit their own bias .

It’s not just in Islam , it is same in Christianity .Some pastors harp so much on ur appearance , not wearing trousers as female , not styling ur hair as a male , etc ; while others don’t . Each sect will find a scriptural passage that backs his beliefs.

Most Christian's believe in Jesus, the son of God. I think what most churches disagree on is on doctrine.

Some churches held on to the doctrine of the old testament without considering the new testament while some hold on to the new testament discarding the old testament.

Apostle Paul in his letters to the Thessalonians in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 says we should prove all things and hold on to that which is good. Basically Paul was saying because your pastor says it doesn't mean it is right until you yourself confirm that it is right.

Christianity is meant to be a personal journey between you and your God and not about doctrine.

It’s just a case of a sent choosing what to hold dear and what not to . Celestials and C & S chose to hold dear Old Testament practices of Making sacrifices , atoning for sins etc ; but other modern day Christian’s see them as being occultic . They decide to adopt the practice of Jesus not judging anybody (Like Jesus didn’t judge the the adulterous woman ) , but other Christian’s see them as condoning adultery/polygamy .

I think one thing I noticed about Islam is that the Arabs tried as much as they could to infuse their culture into the religion.

They were successful to an extent that they passed some of the norms in their own traditional way to the religion such that u as a non Arab adopting the religion has to accept some of their traditional way of life that were alien to u prior to adopting the religion. Christianity didn’t have that much grip ; that’s why u see churches like African Church where known Oluwo’s ( traditional cultists ) have seat in the church .While there are traditionalists in Islam too, they are not too open about theirs .

When I was much younger I used to think only Christians have so many denominations with different doctrine that do not agree with each other despite believing in the same holy book.

It was much later as an adult I know the Muslims also have the same issue. Sometimes I will come across Islamic cleric videos online and u will see Tebliq, Sunnis, Shi'as, etc arguing for and against the Islamic cleric’s message .

One of their staff called me this morning. She said she’s calling in respect of Mr. Xyz ( an old friend that I can’t even remember the last time I heard from him).

I asked the lady “ What about him ?” . She said he borrowed loan from their company and he has refused to pay back. I then asked her why was she calling me ? Am I his guarantor or what ? How is it my business ; how did I become a party to the contract between the company and the borrower ?

The lady said he has not been picking his calls and I am one of his emergency contact (whatever that means ) and so they want me to tell him to pay back. I told her to call his number and not bother me since she acknowledged I was never a party to their contract .

The lady just shouted in her igbotic voice “ Tah ! Come on get out ! “ 😂 and she ended the call .

For a second I was angry and shocked as to how unprofessional those people run their business . I mean who goes about disbursing funds to Nigerians without any collateral ? Now when the borrower defaults u start calling their contacts claiming they are emergency contacts? Even if the borrower gives someone as their emergency contact , are u not expected to reach to such person before disbursement to know if they are cool standing in the gap for the borrower if things go south ?

As for their staff , I wonder if they specifically recruit the dregs of the society ; very rude and uncultured set of people .
