In April 2015, Justice Liman who was at a High Court in Edo presided over a corruption case involving Michael Igbinedion, younger brother to a former governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion, who was facing money laundering charges worth N25 billion. Patrick Eboigbodin, who was an aide of ex-Governor Igbinedion, was Michael Igbinedion’s co-defendant in the matter.https://www.nairaland.com/8105815/kano-emirate-7-controversies-trailing Them supposed lock this Kano Federal High Court Judge for cell throway the key . The man is one of the bad eggs in the judiciary |

Jodera:Stop indulging those dolts . When they fool themselves tire without getting any engagement they will crawl back to whatever hole they crept out of. |
raumdeuter:Let’s wait tilll that happens . Let’s wait till till the elevated chiefs start usurping the traditional jurisdiction of the Oba . Till that happens , every other thing is wishful thinking . Did any of the chiefs elevated by Ajimobi usurp the jurisdiction of the late Olubadan ? Politicians can choose to give money prado and what have you to anybody they so desire due to the executive powers they have at their disposal . But when it comes to traditional rulers , it is the people that decide who they actually owe their loyalty . |
raumdeuter:This has always been my position in this matter . Every other thing is a matter of subjectivity and perception . It is subject to how individuals perceive it. The people of the town/kingdom know whom their loyalty lies with. Politicians will always be politicians |
raumdeuter:How does that now make the Oba not remaining as the Oba ? How does that make the next Oba come from another family and not the family of the Oba he just dethroned ? |
raumdeuter:That’s why I said it is disengagious to compare the Benin situation with what obtains in other parts of the country . Most communities in Nigeria have more than one ruling house . The Binis have just one ruling house . How will a governor create multiple ruling houses ? |
raumdeuter:Maybe that’s what Obaseki is trying to do , maybe not. But one thing is certain , there’s only one Royal family in Benin and if Obaseki decides to dethrone the current Oba for political reasons , he will only end up installing the Oba’s son or relative . The throne in Benin is hereditary. The succession plan is sacrosanct . Unlike what we have in other parts of the country where an Oba can be picked from another Royal family. I may be wrong tho and I am open to corrections |
Jodera:Team 1 has a deficiency in the sense that they have so many attackers and just 1 defender . And Ben white even though a good defender , he can’t do a 2-man work . This reminded me of when I was in primary 5 in a decent private school . Most of our teachers then were Ghanians and they always push us to get the best out of us . Our class teacher then decided he was going to start a weekly quiz where they will ask questions bothering on current affairs , capital of countries all over the world , history , little bit of science and calculations . They formed like 5 groups and named each group according to a color like orange , purple , blue, green , and white . Papers were rolled and each class member picked one to decide which group he will fall under . They didn’t want a situation where it will seem like they kept all intelligent people on one side and people struggling on the other . I fell ended up in the purple group and most of the people that are usually known for their academic prowess did too. But the funny thing is we only won the weekly quiz twice , subsequent ones were won by other groups . The fact that we had so many brilliant students in our group was even a disadvantage because one of the rules to the quiz is that u only have one shot at the answer as a group ,once a member of ur group attempts and miss the answer ; the next group can attempt it and get a bonus mark for it. Our group was always not organized , almost all group members were too overconfident and once we just give a wrong answer out of overconfidence the next group takes it as bonus point . Then I usually don’t like jumping to answer questions even if I know the answer , those who are too forward in my group will just bungle our chances . They only consult me when they don’t have an idea of the answer at all. That period taught me a great lesson in life that a team may look good on paper but if they are not well balanced they may not achieve anything at all. |
Jodera:I will go with team 2. They are defensively solid with Partey and Saliba ; then u have a fully fit Simith-Rowe partnering with Nketiah upfront. They may not score much , but they will contain any other team on the list and score couple of goals to carry the day |
Itsrm:That was why I responded to him. The discussion Dey really make sense and I was also learning . If e don tribal the whole thing no go make sense again. |
Itsrm:Okpa is something else ![]() |
Shegzdave:Even me, I don’t trust those kind of players cos I remember that was how were told Chambers can play RCB, LCB, DM, CM and RB . Unfortunately I can’t point to one of those positions he was exceptional at. But then again, if it is Arteta that wants him then he certainly has a need for him and will put him to good use . |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:It is well with u. Carry on. |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:It is not a lie , but u know that’s a way for u to make the discussion go tribal when all everyone was discussing is whether a king can be dethroned or not by a governor . There’s no correlation whatsoever between the discussion and what u posted . U can be doing that on politics section , but u for try Dey more matured here na |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:Okpa why do u always find a way to bring tribal undertone to every discussion about Naija internal politics ? 🤦♂️ How Hewa people in Ogun state fleeing to Benin Republic take enter this matter now ? |
GloriousGbola:Making an argument with the Ajimobi-Olubadan situation in Oyo and saying it means the Oba Benin can be dethroned is disengagious . For starters, Ajimbobi did not tamper with the succession arrangement on ground to the Olubadan stool in Ibadan. All he did was make all the principal chiefs Obas. While they were waiting and bidding their time to be next in line , he made them kings . For example , the Otun Olubadan was made an Oba even though he still remains the next in line to the Olubadan throne . The reason he elevated these chiefs to Oba’s was because these high chiefs were actually saddled with the responsibility of supervising different traditional councils that had Obas and Baales as members . Ajimobi felt it made no sense for an High chief to be supervising a council that included Obas so he thought it would be best those high chiefs themselves are made Obas while the succession arrangement of them moving in line to become next Olubadan was not tampered with. U see the crux of the matter is , Ajimobi didn’t make a law that says the line-moving-arrangement of becoming an Olubadan was abolished . In like manner , I honestly don’t think any governor will be mad enough to suggest making a law that tamper with the succession arrangement to the Oba of Benin throne. Like , I don’t think any governor will force a state house of assembly to make a law that suddenly increase the number of royal families in Benin to 2 , 3,4 or 5. Where dem wan manufacture the royal families ? |
![]() The guy go still later keep for post sef . Ahn ahn! This is the real jack of all trades. germaphobe: |
TemporaryHansel:That will only happen if the governor has the backing of the state house of assembly . Remember most of the state house of assembly members too rever the Oba , even those that are not Edo by tribe. They respect the Benin throne. Tho I’m not Edo , but I’ve come to realize that the Oba stool in Benin is really a reverted throne in that state and the situation over there is unlike what we have in other parts of the country . Even this Kano own sef, most members of the state house of assembly ( mostly the NNPP members ) were down with the move of the governor simply because they believe Sanusi was unjustly removed in the first place . |
🚨BREAKING: Arsenal have had a £20million bid rejected by Fenerbahce for 24-year-old Ferdi Kadioglu.I don’t know how true this is , but which kind player be this ?😂
|
TrebleChamp:This is a very reasonable explanation . This is the only reason why the Oba cannot be derthroned because if he’s dethroned , the governor will have to install the son of the king dethroned in his father’s place . |
TrebleChamp:On this one I won’t blame APC but rather the useless judge who issued an order from the US against a process that followed the law to the latter . This one is on the judiciary . The stupid judge didn’t even give any reasonable reason why the state house of assembly cannot carry out its duty of enacting and amending laws as they deem fit. He’s not even saying the act the governor signed into law is at variance with the provisions of the constitution . Dem supposed Dey jail some of those judges honestly . The danger they pose to democracy worse pass the executive at times . |
Jodera:I will pick Saliba as my player of the season. Rice had a fantastic season but I think it is because we’ve be yearning for a midfielder that does exactly what he does for a long time, that’s why a lot of people think he’s our best player . As for Odegaard , he was our playmaker and he did exactly what was necessary of him. He had an amazing season ; but I think the bias people have for offensive players over defensive players is why he will be rated as our best player . Saliba is like NBG - No Bad Game . The only game I can remember he fumbled this past season is that match vs Loserpool where he snoozed and allowed Diaz to cause katakata leading to Gabriel’s own goal . Even in that match he made sure Loserpool had just that one goal and that was it. |
Itsrm:It’s a long stretch sef . State of emergency will not solve anything . Kano state is not some southern state o, if FG decides to declare state of emergency in a state like Kano, it will only beget more violence . Except the Chief of Army staff want to relocate the defence headquarters to Kano state . Kano state has 44 LGA’s , it is a big state that will be hard to contain if serious violence erupts following forceful removal of the governor via state of emergency . FG will not even tow that line at all. In all of this , don’t forget Sanusi is an ally of Tinubu |
iamoyindamola:That’s why all those Obas Dey loyal to governor .No matter how rich and powerful u are , if governor no approve ur nomination as king nothing Ifa go do, u won’t be king . 😂 |
raumdeuter:Even this Sanusi sef , I think his grandfather was deposed by Ahmadu Bello sef . That’s why I laugh at people talking about this Bayero having federal backing , having NSA backing etc . If the governor is determined he won’t rule , then definitely he won’t . |
iamoyindamola:All those things ended when the colonial masters came jare . As far back as 1955 Awolowo led government deposed Oba Adeyemi II the then Alaafin of Oyo because the Oba was famzing NCNC that was ruling at the central while Awolowo’s AG ruled the western region. No be today government at the state/regional level has been dealing with Kings . Those people only followed in the footsteps of the colonial masters when they left . |
GloriousGbola:Na Ganduje fell out with Kwankwanso I meant jare . Na Gandollar use him hand collect dollars na , wetin be Sanusi own inside ? |
Itsrm:Somebody said “ If person explain Nigeria give u and u understand ; then the person no explain well “ ![]() |
