izzou:I didn't see he was poor o. As a matter of fact, I don't even know him well enough to judge his pocket. I just find it amusing that someone who flaunt opulence like this made the chief tax collector and they expect people to willingly complex with paying taxes? The optics dey somehow and I know Nigerians will find a way to evade tax even because of that. |
CrystalTiger: ![]() Na person wey wan dey manage our tax in trust be this? Issokay o |
iamoyindamola:They will keep serving them o, until the family does not have anybody else interested in politics. The Man just dey buy house everywhere for that Agege. |
raumdeuter:So America can just go to take possession of Greenland because Trump assumed China or Russia may invade the Danish territory ? If every bigger country is doing like that, won't it be total chaos all over the world? That thing he's proposing does not have the backing of any of America's NATO allies and you think it is right step in right direction? See all these excuse/justification u are making for Trump's proposed taking over of Greenland is what we were talking about earlier. |
@Iamoyindamola see wetin I see on Facebook o. Obasa has quietly appointed the son of the sick Agege LGA chairman who stepped down for his own son Vinod to be vice to Vinod 🤷♂️ After the papa acted as placeholder for Obasa's son, they have decided to reward him.by appointing his son to be vice to Obasa's son. Dem just dey use the posituin do give and take compensation.

mostob:I think the loan will be good for him. Hopefully he gets playing time there and he's able to shine well enough to earn a major role at Arsenal come next season. |
afrodoc2: ![]() Some of them have over-relied on the US without thinking someone with choko for head like Trump would ever become president of America to come scatter sweet relation with the super world power. |
afrodoc2:As in....I also did wonder how Hitler became what he was while his people and the whole world watched on. But as I grow older and saw the excuse people make for actions and inactions of leaders that are actually unreasonable, I begin to understand it is the people that enabled him to become what he became. The fact it is an American president that is openly moving like Hitler without any remorse/feel of moral guilt just makes the whole thing hard to believe |
afrodoc2:Doc do you think Trump is moving like Hitler with the way he's handled the Venezuelan matter and also vowed to seize Greenland from Denmark? |
Ibime:Definitely ! Even Abacha his principal; na every year dem dey discover different locations where he stashed Nigerian commonwealth |
izzou:Na the guy own Eko Hotel and Suites. I guess when they want to defend this national honours award, they will point out his investment in the Nigerian economy with his various companies being highlighted. They will deliberately turn blind eye to his criminal acts against the country in the past. |
izzou:National Honours na water for here ![]() |
izzou:Tinubu has consistently shown he doesn't care about optics sha, so this is not surprising at all. Somebody who has fighting corruption as one of his campaign promises awarded a multi-trillion naira road project to the company owned by the man who aided Abacha to steal over $300million from Nigerian treasury. And now he's awarding the same man GCON. Zero care about optics!

raumdeuter:Exactly! As far back as 2014 during NYSC orientation camp there was this guy in my room that would talk about how Boko Haram go to villages in his LGA in Borno state attacking christian dominated areas every night. He narrated how they would offer villagers a chance to switch religion or have their village burned down. They would slaughter all adult males and abduct adult female villagers to marry them as wives after forcefully converting them. The kids will be left as orphans. It all sounded like a made-up tale until orphaned Christian students from Borno, Adamawa and Yobe were transferred to our school in the north west on federal government scholarship. The issue predates the current government sef. So I wonder why anybody would want to deny these things are not happening. |
izzou:The whole thing no just get leg to stand on. One would expect FG to shut the story down as soon as possible ; but if they don't it would mean they align with the propaganda |
izzou:I don't even understand how anybody can try to make sense out of the nonsense NYT published sef. |
GloriousGbola:NYT claim makes no sense and reads more like a hatchet job by a media outfit that is out to use Nigerian situation to continue their war against republican party in America. The fact that the article was specifically mentioning Republican lawmakers in its subheading makes it pretty obvious ( Spotty research from a Christian activist has been used by Republican lawmakers to justify U.S. intervention in the country ). Your are the one making the North West vs North East argument on behalf of NYT which was not the meat of the matter in NYT's publication. By the way the Sokoto airstrike was reported as the first and may not be the last if the Nigerian authorities do not take pro-active steps to address the issues that required the US intervention. |
GloriousGbola:You didn't answer my questions but chose to deflect to another issue completely |
CrystalTiger:This Trump jeans na stock jeans 😂 |
GloriousGbola:The fact that you are still seeing any sense in that gibberish NYT published still amazes me. To start with, where did the US mention categorically that they premised the airstrike on Emeka screwdriver's account? To the best of my knowledge the whole Christian genocide issue got the attention of the US government when Rev Dachomo made videos which was posted on Twitter which generated widespread attention. To back this up I have attached screenshot of Riley Moore actually warning Nigerian authorities they would be held accountable should anything happen to Rev Dachomo who raised the alarm. Also the US delegation came to Nigeria, visited IDPs in the middle belt and spoke with victims of the numerous attacks against the Christian minority in the north. Attached is The Punch newspaper report that Riley Moore Left heartbroken following his visit to Nigeria to investigate the Christian genocide claims. https://punchng.com/my-trip-to-nigeria-heartbreaking-us-congressman-moore/ Are you saying with bold face that the US government didn't premise the airstrike on what Riley Moore saw himself in Nigeria but on what Emeka the screwdriver salesman wrote several months ago?
|
GloriousGbola:Forget Saddam Hssein and Iraq. I am asking you as a Nigerian who lives in Nigeria, follows Nigerian news and is well aware of what is happening in this country : Is it false that Christians get killed in 100's in Plataeu state? Is it false that Christians get killed in religious violence In kaduna state from time to time? Is it false that Christians on Christmas procession get run over by trucks that specifically targeted them in terror attacks in Gombe state not once or twice in recent times? Is it false that as recent as today there's a report in the media of over 100 church goers abducted in Kaduna state? |
GloriousGbola:Their so-called calling out makes absolute no sense. There are several reports of genocides reported in the mainstream media in Nigeria. Almost every Christmas/Easter a truck would run over Christians procession in Bauchi or Gombe. Is that also a report from Emeka the screwdriver seller? It's like you don't know how low one's mental faculty one must be to believe this narrative NYT is trying to paint. All the Christian missionaries in the north who have been working for years in the north have data they keep on these things. Some of the cases that don't even get reported in media. |
GloriousGbola:The same author of the NYT article was lending her voice to the fight against religious persecution in northern Nigeria less than 2 years ago. Fast forward to January 2026 she carry their media fight against Trump and Republicans write article to discredit the airstrike against the Jihadists in Nigeria.
|
GloriousGbola:We are all in this Nigeria together, does anyone need to rely on whatever the man is reporting before they confirm there's actually Christian persecution up North? Don't we see reports about these incidents by local media from time to time? This is not even that started in 2025 sef. |
For decades, Northern Nigeria has been a region defined by coexistence. Indigenous Christian communities have lived alongside Muslim majorities, sharing common markets, neighborhoods, cultural exchanges, and—most importantly—shared strugglesThese first few lines of the article already rubbished whatever agenda the writer was trying to achieve. There has been no decade in this country in which there's not been religious fuelled violence against the Christian minority in the Northern part of this country. The talks about "decades of peaceful coexistence beween the Muslim majority and indigenous Christian communities in the North" is nothing but farce. Since I was in primary school I've been reading about religious crisis in Kaduna, Jos and other parts of the north that have Indigenous Christian communities in the North. The advent of Boko Haram, ISWAP and Fulani Militia only made the matters worse in the 2010's. None of these has anything to do with any Igbo Separatist group |
afrodoc2:Like...It's terrible, it just seem as if their journalism is agenda driven all rounder. I normally do not follow American politics because I don't really have much interest in what happens over there when Nigeria own still dey there, but recently I've been noticing that things over there is almost heading the same way as we have it here. Even by the comments of their citizens on social media one can sense some shift. It's just like logic is being turned on its head and people will just choose to believe whatever appeals to their bias. I've seen people in Trump's government arguing with data that was generated by the same government. I've also seen people on the other side too support lawlessness just to discredit Trump's government. The sanctity of their laws and incorruptible law enforcement/judicial system sef is being affected by the whole thing happening. People are just picking sides and the media is leading the way |
iamoyindamola:Apart from concotion sef, the kind of things those boys take in the name of highness is just too much. I think it was 2022 or 2023 one dancer on TikTok vomitted blood before he passed out. It was later confirmed it was excessive abuse of Colos that led to his untimely death. Till date when I see them doing all those street dance that requires serious energy on TikTok, I always believe they get energy from the drugs they consume. |
KingTom:Funny shiiit. The Nigerian Government admitted the American airstrike in Sokoto was a joint operation of the Nigerian and American governments. But lobbyist and propagandist are saying America relied on Onitsha based screwdriver salesman. No be juju be that? |
iamoyindamola:Few months ago I saw one bros make a video about him on TikTok. In that Video the bros was calling out his management for not doeing enough to manage his affairs well. He lamented how he was paid for a show to perform but by the time he came on stage he was apparently under the influence of hard drugs. The bros said he was shocked that he couldn't even sing his own song that was composed by him well because of the level of jonzing. He said he was making that video because later when they start asking for public donation to treat him for any health-related issue, he will not contribute a dime. When I saw the news of his death, my mind just went straight to that bros' video. I'm sure very soon bloggers will start sharing that bros video as a doom prophecy that came to pass. |
izzou:Let me tell you what I think happened in this case: I think American local politics is being taken too far and same being projected on the issues in Nigeria. The tone of that New York Times news piece sounds like their intention was to discredit Trump's action as regards the airstrikes in Sokoto last December. You know Trump has his own issues with some media organizations inside America and New York Times is one of them. In order for NYT to be able to discredit the American airstrike, they need to discredit people like Riley who has been in the forefront of the Christian Genocide issue. So to do that, they need to attack the source of data that has been quoted by Riley in his numerous posts on social media and his reports in congress. I guess that was what led them to digging into the ownership/control of one of the Civil Organizations that has reported the Christian gencoide going on in the north and found goldmine . Seeing the civil organization was registered by that man they called "screwdriver salesman in Onitsha", they just decided to pivot their propaganda in that direction and claim Trump relied on wrong intelligence to carry out the airstrike. A section of the Nigerian media and some dishonest people denying the true situation of things have further amplified it by going with the IPOB/Igbo Agenda by splashing pictures of the man on the internet thereby exposing him to imminent danger. In all these both NYT and a part of the Nigerian media chose not to speak about the fact that Rev Dachomo was making heartwrenching videos while burying his congregations who are victims of the said genocide. They chose to ignore the fact that Rev Father Anegbe of Makurdi Catholic Diocese actually travelled to America to appear before a house sitting on the Christian genocide in Nigeria. They forget that even FG sent delegation to the same America o. In fact, there was one Middle Belt guy on Twitter resident in America (I don't the exact town he's from) resident in America who claimed he actually wrote to his Rep in the US congress about the plight of his people and it was that petition that led to them Riley getting involved. The way I see it, the government is more interested in playing politics with their $9m war chest for Lobbying/propaganda rather than addressing the issues surrounding religious intolerance/persecution happening up north. |
CrystalTiger:They left the Rev Father from plataeu kneeling before the graves of his members , they left the Rev Father Anegbe of Benue who raised the alarm and testified in the US respectively and thy are focusing on the position of a "Screwdriver salesman in Onistsha"? on the massacre going on in the north against minority Christian population?😲. Omo! Propaganda on steriods right before our eyes. |
Rare clip of Havertz converting a chance similar to the one Gyokeres fumbled yesterday. |
