germaphobe: Rice complaints about shit game clearly shows his frustration towards they players inability to finish chances but somehow it has been translated to Arteta fucvking up. Whole first half we generated enough chances to score but didn't even had one shot on target. I think the first shot on target was from Rice(if I am not mistaken), a midfielder playing the first shot on target in the 2nd half while we have forward players ooo. It's easy to blame who we want to blame. I can choose to blame the assistant coach and back it up with his issue with Rice the previous match. Na so the thing be oo It is well my bro. I guess the fans are just frustrated with the past two EPL results Sha. Hopefully we get back to winning ways at the Emirates next week. |

germaphobe: bro, do you remember it was games like this that made the whole media and fans call out for signing of a striker. The problem is not creativity, the problem is clinicality. 15 shots and only 3 on target, 9 corner kicks, expected goals 2.10, 75% passes into the final third, 36 touches in opposition box of which 14 were shot but only 2 was on target. We lacked clinicality last night and selz was also good. No body is talking about that run by Gyokeres that should have ended in goal, at least I've seen kai score that kind of goal twice, with defenders on him and making a long run with the ball. Crosses came in the box but no one was there to finish up. Martinelli missing a sitter, white shooting to the skies, Madueke trying to dribble his ancestors. They problem is clinicality and that is on the players who played. But then, what do I know. You are really hitting the nail on the head. The reason we didn't win this match and Loserpool match is our inability to be clinical in front of goal. It's matches like this that made fans call for signing of an Out and out striker to help us out in games like this one when the opponents make it difficult for us to penetrate their defence. Unfortunately, the striker we signed has not been able to help us out of these situations. We had chances to win yesterday's match, we just didn't take our chances. Gyokeres was gifted a run at goal from Forrest defender's mistake but his pace wasn't enough ; he was caught up with and couldn't convert the chance. Martinelli also had a chance to play the ball into the net but played across face of goal. We can all blame Arteta all day for the team failing to take maximum advantage of City's slip yesterday but we should also be sincere enough to admit some of our players didn't rise up to the occasion. I believe Rice saying whatever he was caught on camera saying is due to him seeing his fellow players not rising to the ocassion when they need to. If I was Rice I would also be frustrated seeing Gyokeres not doing enough to score that chance, I will be pissed as well seeing Martinelli playing the ball across face of goal when we should be Celebrating a lead. What I don't understand is if a section of the fans will keep lamenting about this result till the next match day cos to me that's not a good way of enjoying a club one claims to support at all. |

Leyqute: Madueke would’ve been worse against Liverpool. Saka is definitely better than him and it was clear when he came on. At this stage of the season, it is crucial to rack up important points. If your competition drop points in an earlier game, it’s more crucial to go full throttle and win the 3 points.
There was a season SAF planned to rest some players for a midweek UCL game. But once the competition (City at the time, I think) dropped points in an earlier kick off, he completely changed his whole game plan and grounded out a win.
That’s how you secure the league. The point is both players started Loserpool match and the outcome was same as this one they started off the bench. They couldve started this match and if would ended same way. We drew because we didn't take our chances when they fell to us and Forrest keeper was on his best days. Simple. All those talk about "The draw is on Arteta" is just looking for something to whine about. |

Leyqute: Bros. Saka made a clear difference vs Madueke. He should have started that game. It was a rare opportunity to go 9 points clear and he fumbled it. Saka and Trossard played vs Loserpool and the match ended 0-0 just as this one. Was that one too on Arteta? See na the team as a whole no turn up. Against Loserpool I was asking what was Arteta supposed to do in that match that he didn't do, nobody could come up with anything tangible to say. It was obvious the team just didn't take their chances. The same thing happened to do. People are only tagging today's result to Saka and Trossard not starting. More like fans just need something to point at as reason why we didn't win. |

MSGAMBLE9: And I said you can only praise him when he match up to that Liverpool standard not by overtaking them mid-season and bottled it eventually like he usually does...
Even with the best legs, we might still not win but put your strong hands forward and tell us you are not a 🤡.... He made a fool of himself today You need not wait till end of season na. Write petition for them to sack him so Ur preferred coach who would win 38 out of 38 can take his place. Abi is that too hard to do? |

germaphobe: if we can't play both wingers against a team who has only won one of their last five games and 17th on the table, which other match we fit play them in epl?, abi na only lower cup ties they signed to play?. It's not like both are seriously out of form oo. The question is, when Saka and even the Trossard that I wanted to start entered, did the scoreline change?. This season i can count how many times the starting xl gave me doubts but we still ended up winning, today that the win didn't come, we wan kill the coach. Even if the xl was bad, was the subs bad too?. God bless you! If we can't start Madueke and Martinelli against Forrest, then which team are they fit to play against? Is it Man city? Chelsea or Loserpool? |

MSGAMBLE9: No, we shall continue with him knowing that the opening of book of Lamentations comes May is a possibility.... But stop putting him in same bracket as Slot's Liverpool who are still the defending when he has nothing of note yet to point at....
They are still ringing me .... You make things up in your head and run away with it. I said Arteta was Arsenal's coach while we were trailing Loserpool earlier this season and somehow we are suddenly 6 points above our most serious rival for the title Arteta is still our coach. I don't know the kind of enjoyment you seek from the team if you dislike the coach this much Sha. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 10:04pm On Jan 17 |
MSGAMBLE9: So because he overtake Liverpool that has no business winning the League before him last season, we treat him as God when he has not won anything in 6 years? Let him achieve what Liverpool achieved last season first....
I will repeat again, Madueke and Nelli should only start when the best or better players are not available and they are most preferably in Cup or dead rubber like Inter match not when you are looking to go 9 points up... Fergie, Mou, Conte or Kloop would not mess up chances like this and become perennial winners...
I hope you guys won't blame the Apari again come May... Okay, make Una sack Arteta and sign coach who will win 38 out of 38 matches o. |

Last match Martinelli had goals and Madueke assists, it wasn't a mad choice starting both against a struggling n.forest. our attack wasn't potent enough even after the right changes were made. Wen need to do something about our Left Back position. We really need to decide on what we want to do with Lewis-Skelly and bring in a worthy deputy for Calafiori.
Our inability to do something with that wing is frustrating. |

MSGAMBLE9: Negative mindset? Person wey bench im starter for useless CL match is not Negative... They are only good enough to start when the best is not available, this is the same Man that would refuse to sub Saka, Kai and Rice even when we are 3-0 up...
He goofed badly... None of the winners I mentioned earlier would have done so not Mou, Kloop or SAF...
Me wey I don dey thank my United friends for afternoon only to see them mockingly ringing me back now... It's negative mindset and nothing more. The same coach who has been in charge of the team from when we were trailing Loserpool to the point we are leading City by 6 points is still the one coaching us. It just seem as if some of you are hoping we lose or draw and then start coming up with list of things the coach didn't do right. Did Madueke not start a premier league match that we won this season? Want about Martinelli? Their replacement that were brought in did they still score? It just seem as if when we are playing well it's the players doing really well but the moment we drop point it is the coach that is the problem. I ask again : How Una dey enjoy watching Arsenal matches with this mindset? |

MSGAMBLE9: Yes, there is nothing special in Forest but what do they have to show for it? 1 points 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣.....
There is a lot of inferiority complexes in this Fanbase, we celebrate mediocrity imagine Sir Alex of 2008 benching Ronaldo or Rooney in this type of game... You don't rotate your squad in a must win matches, this yeye man has kept Saka, Rice and Zubi on even when we are very comfortable lead in matches Spurs (4-1), Leeds (4-1) etc...
Another bottling is in the offing again... It's like Netflix series... Nobody is celebrating 1 point, maybe you are making that one up in your head Sha. You sounded as if players like Martinelli and Madueke are not good enough to start against Nottingham forest. These are the same players that have played in higher profile matches sef and tbey delivered this same season. There's no big deal the coach playing those aforementioned duo against Forrest. It's anxiety and PTSD of the seasons we didn't win the league that's making you suddenly think Forrest is a team we must start Saka and Trossard ( who came on and didn't score) against them...... Make Una calm down small. All these negativity are just not necessary. I wonder how u guys even enjoy watching matches when you already have negative mindset even before the match starts. I don't envy Una o |

mostob: Trossard in midfield. Eze on the wing would be better. Both of them can even rotate. As for Gyokeres, maybe yhe coacj should start playing Merino as CF. We're playing better with that guy while Brock Lesnar was out injured. Merino at CF at least till Kai is fit. I agree with you that we may need to turn to Merino very soon. Maybe Arteta should start from Man Utd's match sef. We can't continue with Gyokeres like this. All through gbé first half crosses were made into the box but he was nowhere to be found |

MSGAMBLE9: Big trouble especially with the difficult run in we have latter in the season...
They say there is nothing special in Forest... You rested your best legs for a dead rubber and allow the opponent to gain confidence and weather the storms
This is bad, 7 points advantage from possible 11 is never the champions way... Na me talk am. Quote me and tell me what's special about this Forrest team you just watched. If not that our players refuse to take our chances, what is special about them? The players you claim he rested ; didn't they play almost the full second half? Did they score eventually? It seems the fear of arsenal not winning the league has made some of u guys to always react negatively to any of the coach's actions and inactions. If he decide to use full squad for some matches Una go complain why he no rest players; when he decides to rotate the squad to carry everyone along Una go still complain as if the players he starting are not professionals who have been starting for us and giving results in the past. |

mostob: Now that he brought Saka and Trossard in the second half, did it make any difference? No!
Arteta has his fault but sometimes the players should be called out too. The bold is my position too. Saka and Trossard who replaced Madueke and Martinelli which the fans are complainkng about ; they played almost 45 mins each and still nothing changed. What's the assurance that if they played and get subbed off later in the match the result won't still be same? I just feel some of our fans just look for any opportunity to bash Arteta and he keeps presenting those opportunities to them by his actions and inactions. |

Also, something needs to give either Merino will replace Odegaard or Eze ; Odegaard just needs to sit on the bench for a while. |

Link up o, chance creation o, goals o. E no dey. It’s never clear what he’s doing that massively helps his team. I guess Arteta is continues to play him in order not to kill his morale (like he did for Havertz back then). Other than that, he's not doing well at all. |

Shegzdave: I’m having a contrary opinion to yours, instead of Madu, why not Saka and if it’s cause of his square plays and passes instead of shot at goal that saka is know for is why he’s starting, his crosses and square plays are usually to no man’s land I also prefer Saka starting ahead of Madueke, but then we've all been clamoring for Arteta to manage the players' game time so he doesn't run them down with fatigue. I guess this is Arteta listening to that cry. |
