What an irony, this same Nigerian army brutally killed more than 500 civilians in Zaria where El-Rufai is the governor and he didn’t see as genocide? Politicians and hypocrisy.....hmmmmm

The way we run our government from top to bottom is plain ridiculous, but who will bell the cat? Smh!!

alphaNomega:

The average government office holder does not want to use the same chair his predecessor sat on or drive in the same vehicle because he feels "somebody has planted juju in them" among many other ridiculous claims.

Politics / Re: Rehabilitation In PH Refinery Still Ongoing – NNPC by blujoi(m): 11:02am On Aug 13, 2019
That’s how you will continue rehabilitating it till Dangote finishes his refinery!! You guys think some of us don’t know what your plan is. After making countless promises, APC government is rehabilitating refineries for 4 years running. Nonsense and APC

Jumping from one thread to the other, displaying stupidity and constituting a nuisance. This thing is just too irritating.
Politics / Re: Senators, Reps Buy Suvs, Property At Ridiculous Give-away Prices by blujoi(m): 10:29am On Aug 13, 2019
Does it make sense to furnish a senators office every 4years? The government budgets 70% of our earnings on recurrent expenditure, how do we cut down on cost of government? What happens when oil sells for peanuts? Would we still run such expenses?

alphaNomega:

That's the problem! It is not right for them to spend their personal wages on purchasing government office equipment. Because they are lawmakers, they exploit the system to acquire these properties for themselves at the expense of public funds.

It is wickedness!

Even your Venezuela has people cashing out millions of dollars every month as it is today and would prefer the country is totally destroyed, than they stop getting their daily bread.
Politics / Re: Senators, Reps Buy Suvs, Property At Ridiculous Give-away Prices by blujoi(m): 9:53am On Aug 13, 2019
I would rather opt for them to buy these things from their salary and allowances. It’s rather ridiculous that poor country like Nigeria would allocate huge funds for stuff like this.

I fear for the future of this country, cos when oil will become obsolete, the Venezuela situation would be child’s play

CaptBabosa:
The word accountability is not found in Nigeria.. These state properties should be transfered to the incoming the 9th assembly. But we all know you can't recover these properties alas they decided to collect paltry sums for it.

Hate you say? You don’t know what you are saying. It’s only a hypocrite that sees white and calls it black. You say you want to have an intellectual discussion and you can’t do a google search of reported kidnap cases where the victims identified their captors. An intellectual discussion that will see an article where a police boss discusses the kidnap issue and mentions instances and you decide to ignore the obvious.

I have lived the better part of my years in the north, I still have northern friends till date and I still go to the north, I am not one of those tribalists that litter this forum, heck I even speak Hausa. But for you to come here to intellectually try to sway an argument with a lot of bias is just lame and that’s why I called you out.

I do not expect you to agree or follow my line of thought 100%, but quit acting like an ostrich.

GeoAfrikana:

Anyone who doesn't follow your line of thought is a hypocrite?

Do you expect anyone to follow you dogmatically? If yes then sorry to disappoint you but dogmatism remains a no-no. And you've even stopped low to start calling people funny names.

And please don't mention me again. I only engage only on healthy intellectual discussions not hate and dogmatic ones.

Thank you for the highlights, but I know that clown will still turn a blind eye to it

Blue3k2:

I'll interject in your debate since I have proof that's sufficient. Yes the bandits do kidnap, kill, plunder among other crimes and they're mostly fulani. Zamfara also pardon 100 Fulani bandits the other day btw.

Politics / Re: How Bandits From Niger Republic Invade Nigeria To Wreak Havoc by blujoi(m): 3:36am On Aug 11, 2019
You are the funniest hypocrite ever!! Continue to wallow in your delusions!!

GeoAfrikana:

There's no specific mention of fulani as kidnappers. He mentioned that banditry is spread across different parts of west Africa and specifically some people from Niger enter Nigeria.

How does that imply that fulanis are all kidnappers? Except you want to tell me that Niger is 109% fulani or even majority.

In summary, this isn't a proof, in honesty.

So why doesn’t Africa find a way to attract the best of the best and grow their own economies? The UAE did it, so why can’t Africans do it?

NB** The Asians did it also. What’s stopping Africans from copying the same template?

You saw that right. The soldiers that were at the checkpoint have not been named or arrested instead the community has been invaded by all sorts looking for innocent civilians.

kollinz1234:
They are moving around looking for innocent citizens to arrest when the soldiers that carried out the atrocities are still there in the check point. How useless can a country be? What's the difference BTW this country and George Orwell's "animal farm? Do we have a president?

Politics / Re: Defence Headquarters Statement About The Killing Of Policemen By Soldiers. by blujoi(m): 11:14pm On Aug 09, 2019
Please educate him. IRT team was specially formed to tackle kidnappers. The police men in that team are the best of the best. They are well trained and are even better than some soldiers. This case is simply cold blooded murder on the part of the soldiers with the aim to free the kidnapper. Like someone said once you hear anything committee just know that nothing will come out of it. Abba Kyari will be called and told to stand down and he won’t do anything about it.

Ikpeazukerosene:

My friend, go to bed if you have nothing sensible to contribute.

Soldiers carry 30 rounds, IRT guys carry 90 rounds. There's no way there would be a shoot-out and the soldiers won't have an injured soldier at least.

Secondly, one of the policemen was shot by the soldiers after he presented his ID Card and and identified himself as a member of the IRT.

Okay but my point is, it doesn’t really matter how many cities we have, cities develop due to economic activities. Let the economic activity by private sector driven, let each state determine their own pace of development. If a state has enough economic activity to support 2 airports so be it. If the government hands off basic things like electricity, transportation etc, let each state run and generate their own funds then pay tax to the FG, you won’t need to determine how many cities will sprout

W3LLAND3R:
I never said each state or city shouldn't be autonomous. I think there are to many states and cities. there should be only 9 or 10 cities . it's better to unite and build big than spread the resources thin .No need for imo international airport ,abia international airport ,ebonyi international airport etc. ; use all the money to build one world class airport .
Politics / Re: - by blujoi(m): 10:33pm On Aug 09, 2019
Yes I support independent candidate. But the underlying problem with our electoral system is the money politics. We need to make elected positions unappealing, the system we have now, you need a lot of money to campaign and canvas for votes, that’s where the godfatherism factor comes in. Secondly due to our tribal sentiments I will suggest we tinker with the presidential system, where by there will be a council of presidents or heads of state, not what we have where power is concentrated on one person. My thoughts

Ultimatezlant:
You said a lot, I like to add that we should have a system that also allows for independent candidacy because even if we go autonomous state ruling today the politicians have already been exposed to money politics for themselves.

A president or governor has to basically be controlled by his party in appointment and governance

I beg to disagree Sir!! Nigeria doesn’t need to break up in order to make progress. Yes Nigeria as presently constituted is poor but the blame lies squarely on the FG, regardless of who is heading it be it PMB,GEJ or OBj.

We have the population, we have the enough mineral resources, the FG government needs to first restructure the fiscal setup of Nigeria whereby, money is pooled into a central account and divided/shared to the states at the end of the month. It won’t work, it’s not working.

Let each state be in charge of their infrastructure and also their mineral resources, allow private sector to run these things under government supervision and policy regulation. Enable industrial clusters, reduce or even grant tax heavens for industrialists just like what happened with telecoms. Centralizing everything will not work. Until they tinker with the constitution let every state run like a business, we can’t make any progress.
