More than two people have provided links to news items yet you are asking for more proof. Maybe we all should turn detectives to satisfy you. Your claim of being unbiased has been rubbished. Is it that you cannot do a simple google search? GeoAfrikana: 1 Like 1 Share |

First where did you see me talk about who’s to blame for the NPF failings? Or you are assuming? Talking about that, various state governors are responsible for the security arrangements in their respective states, which doesn’t take away the fact that they are answerable to the FG. Lagos state is the relatively safe due to the local security arrangements made by the state. In the case of Wike, he engaged the local communities around Emohua and Choba axis and other security arrangements that have been reported here on this forum. beardedboy: |

I’m sure if you did a search you would find it. Is the aim of your write up to prove that Fulani are not involved with kidnapping? Just asking GeoAfrikana: 1 Like 1 Share |

I will agree with you on the point that not all Fulani herdsmen are criminals, but there’s another perspective that you haven’t looked at, which is the kidnapping aspect which is different from herdsmen/farmer clashes. Let me explain what I understand about this situation and also try to be brief. There are criminal elements amongst the Fulani herdsmen who have taken to kidnapping and because it’s now more profitable than cattle rearing, more of them are engaging in it. Last year one of them was caught and he said as much, that mostly the young ones amongst them sneak out to perpetrate these acts. We can also see from the accounts of survivors who identified their captors. Due to their nomadic lifestyle it’s difficult to track them to one area. Now if you bring RUGA to communities how would it solve the kidnapping issue? When no one has been seen to be caught and punished for earlier crimes. So do not blame certain regions who are apprehensive of the RUGA issue. Solution; Ban open grazing nationwide. Let RUGA be in states that desire it. Let the cattle rearers buy land and ranch their cattle. It’s a business, why do they find it so hard to invest in it 4 Likes 2 Shares |

From my observation, two factors. The popularity of Nairaland has attracted all sorts and then data has become cheaper. A lot of the guys are in real life, poor, timid, low esteem adolescents who have no exposure and find nairaland as the best outlet to live out their alter egos due to its anonymous nature. 4 Likes |

You are welcome. Don’t mind the troll. You are doing a good job. The problem you highlighted is multidimensional and it will need a lot of re-orientation and introduction of best practices to make a difference. Your efforts are commendable though. AdesuwaObasuyi: 1 Like |

The map further strengthens the theory that the upsurge in road side kidnappings are the handwork of criminal Fulani militia/herdsmen. It’s a known fact that fulanis have raided and killed many Benue indigenes in their farms and villages. Infact let’s say Benue has become a conquered territory for these Fulani criminals and they are now heading to the next lucrative state, Enugu 1 Like |

If you notice the sectors you would see Nigerians thinking outside the box and making impact nationally and on the global level is in Information technology. Because with data, you have access to the world and tech is still highly unexplored area and minimal investment. You just need your brain to understand and acquire the skill or competency. I’m not particularly referring to this government. But the way things run here. Ingenuity is stifled from the four walls of the schools we attend. Majority are conditioned to chase after the next meal. The ingenious ones are not encouraged either by way of policy or rewards. For example, this solar stuff would require a lot of calibrating and testing, you would need electric (you know how far), you would need to buy/import stuff (customs will chop you). Mehn the obstacles are huge Gartol: |

Common sense should have told you she was interviewed by a journalist and the same people who interviewed her put her picture in the article that was published. Or are you in some way saying she’s the editor or owner of the newspaper where this was published. It’s better to keep quiet than to comment and remove all doubts uuzba: 4 Likes |

You need food in your stomach to think straight and invent. You need structured government support to see your invention through to reality. I’m not holding brief for him but the current Nigerian environment doesn’t encourage inventions or production of revolutionary products. It’s sad Gartol: 4 Likes |

By insurgency, you mean Boko Haram and not the general insecurity of kidnapping. Here goes my own thoughts 1. I will relocate to Bornu state, this is the heart of Boko Haram, and set up a command and control center where I am. 2. I will review and change the messaging system or chain of command system within the military structure to counter information leaks. 3. I will employ latest military technology to include military drones, jamming devices, heat mapping devices to track movement of BH & ISWAP elements 4. The military will be reorganized in such a way that each ground battalion will have a corresponding air force strike team attached to them and they’ll be on the offensive, moving towards areas where BH/ ISWAP elements are known to have a stronghold 5. I will employ military intelligence to fish out major sponsors and have them assasinated 6. I will start social welfare programs to address issues of employment, illiteracy in the North. 7. I will have special forces to work with the CJTF on ground to fish out and neutralize BH hidden networks and collaborators. Cut off their supply networks for both cash and arms 8. Prioritize the remuneration of troops, allowances, bonus and rewards for excellence are paid promptly With these strategies, I don’t think BH/ISWAP can last more than 6 months. I hope this write up gets to the President. Thanks |

Thank God they have been found alive!! I am happy. I am not making assumptions, neither am I making my comments without bias. If you are kidnapped in this country and you don’t have connect, you’ll be killed if you don’t pay the ransom. This is reality. If you doubt it, make a trip from Warri to PH and leave around 5pm, ok. So they were rescued, what happened to the kidnappers? Police let them walk away. Since I’m making assumptions, I want you to tell me what do you think happened that resulted in the release of these victims. Nemesis909: |

What’s nonsense? I am not biased, I speak from experience. Why would the police rescue one and leave the rest? I put it to you that ransom was paid or the kidnappers let her off!!! It’s left to you to believe or not Nemesis909: |
