TV/MoviesRe: Pirated Movie At Silverbird Cinemas? (Actually, No) by BluMalam(m): 12:32pm On Jul 09, 2008
I totally disagree with the "this is naija / naija factor" notion. Silverbird should stick to the standards they set in the

beginning if not, Nu Metro callin. wink If this claim is true, Oga Ben Bruce should be sent back to NTA as punishment. grin

PoliticsRe: Kano Youths Inhale Gutter Odour To Get High. by BluMalam(m): 9:41pm On Jul 01, 2008
At least there's no exhibit.

RedHotChic:
That means that Bush must have used some stimulants to lure them beside the gutters. It also means that non of us is safe from that gutter epidemic. That guy is smart.

Seriously tho, did you notice that 90% of strange illnesses in Naija emanate from the north. activities like gutter sniffing may be a probable explanation. Who knows when they started this act? Probably 20 years old.
I thought it was you who said its impossible for 90% of hausas in tokyo to take drugs. Now u are stating a baseless 90% grin

Could you kindly state 3 of your "strange illnesses" that emanated frm the north?

Ethnicity should not cloud sensible reasoning sister.

PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Declares War On Militants by BluMalam(m): 9:23pm On Jun 29, 2008
Mr Lucabrasi, i understand and appreciate your position on this issue. If you've noticed, nobody has outrightly said "N-Deltans deserve their suffering. Believe me, if you interview the average Nigerian, he will no doubt appreciate the resources we are enjoying as a nation. THE PROBLEM IS, MILITANCY IS NOT THE WAY TO MAKE A POINT.

You seem to think the north is the sole beneficiary of n-delta oil; have you ever been to the north? not kaduna or abuja, but the REAL north, sokoto, kebbi e.t.c? There is gross underdevelopment everywhere, the gimmick that is used to pacify the people is daily cash stipends to whoever makes the queue in front of the governors house every evening. This is the money that is allocated for developmental and re-current expenditure but ends up being smartly diverted. This mentality is what amplifies the "almajiri" phenomenon - expecting cheez wit no work done.

My point is, we the priviledged one's, enlighten and educate the masses that what the leadership is doing is wrong and detrimental in the long run. Trust me, we are beginning to see results. Bad leaders are everywhere, but the people have to identify and reprimand such leaders. Imagine if all the "almajiris" pick up guns. You know how many dem be?

Oga Seun should start sanctioning mannerless and hopelessly uncultured people for unwarranted outbursts. Imagine, someone stating a fact and a myopic person insulting him. Haba!
PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Declares War On Militants by BluMalam(m): 1:55pm On Jun 28, 2008
A friend of mine serving in Yenagoa (NYSC) as a secondary school teacher, narrated to me bout how unruly her students

are. They are actually, literally begged to go, and stay in school. Now, how do you expect an oil company which is

seeking professionals, to employ such people in the near future (if it exists)?

Educate these poor youths and they will certainly make fruitful contributions to their communities.
PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Declares War On Militants by BluMalam(m): 4:01pm On Jun 27, 2008
I'm getting really pissed at N-Delta sympathisers. This forum is beginning to sound like an echoing cave. The more facts that are revealed, the more annoying the whole thing gets. These guys are getting so much, it's almost unjust!
dayokanu:
If Odili, Ibori and Alams were not elected by the people . The same system elected Donald Duke, Fashola and other govs who perform in their states so that is no excuse.

Why are Cross River people not complaining because they felt the impact of the allocation given to their state govt unlike in those state where the Governor loots them dry and the next thing is to blame yar'Adua.

Actually some places in the north are worse than the creeks. but they are not complaining

Between May to October 2007, all the North Eastern states of Nigeria (Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa and taraba) got a total of 67billion Naira as allocation while Rivers State alone got 93billion within this period So what is the screaming about.

When Alams after looting their money in Bayelsa and escaped from the UK dressed as a woman See the celebration in Bayelsa Yet they would claim Yar'Adua is the problem.
otokx:
Well said my brother.
Obudu cattle ranch is in cross river state and not in calabar, after Abuja and Lagos comes Port Harcourt so I don't know what some people are talking about. Let the investors go to other states and continue their environmental devastation. As for the political leaders, let Yar Adua should send the EFCC after them but he knows that it akin to throwing stones around a glass house or the market place.
And Calabar is where? dubai?
PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Declares War On Militants by BluMalam(m): 4:18pm On Jun 26, 2008
First of all, i'd like to state that

1. I am a DE-TRIBALIZED NIGERIAN

2. I HAVE been to the Niger- Delta

3. My mother is FROM the Niger-Delta

It is a known fact that the oil-producing states benefit a 13% derivation of all oil-related reciepts (i.e daily

proceeds from oil sale, royalties e.t.c) monthly in addition to their statutory allocations. This means that these states

recieve higher monthly allocations than any state, including Lagos, which accounts for the bulk of non-oil related

national income (ports, taxes, duties e.t.c) . In the course of my visit to the Niger-Delta, it was evident that less than

1% of all this money gets to the people at the grassroot. Then, why don't our dear "militants" blow up the mansions of

Odili, Ibori and their cohorts if they are truly seeking justice?

2. To the people shamelessly insulting presido, If our dear president folds his hands and maintains the status-quo

(as regards this issue), you all will say he has done nothing, is too sick to think, or is not capable. Now he has declared

war, and you are saying he is over-reacting. You guys should make up your minds and stop using DUAL MEASURES

OF PERFORMANCE.

3. OIL GO FINISH. Blinded by acute ethnicity, you guys are quick to forget that before the discovery of oil,

agriculture was the mainstay of our economy. The leather and groundnut pyramids of the north, oil palm and cocoa

plantations of the east and west respectively were the major sources of national income. This income funded the

research and discovery of this same oil. Nobody complained. HOLD YOUR LEADERS RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR WOES.

PERIOD.

PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Approves Higher Electricity Tariff by BluMalam(m): 8:19pm On May 06, 2008
I think we should give Yar'adua a chance because the proposal sounds logical. Which power corporation will invest in a

country where tariffs do not commensurate with the huge capital expended? NOT to talk of the mentality of the average

nigerian who prefers an illegal connection to paying a bill. We should appreciate the fact that presido, unlike his

predecessors, is interested in new ways to fight an old problem. Shikena.
