The lyrics of the new anthem sure shows our diversity and spurs to service and hardwork!
It says that “though the tribes and tongues may differ,, we know about it.
No matter the friction this causes, we will pretend that they are all minor issues, and continue to force ourselves to be together by all means, because standing on brotherhood is the paramount issue here”.

Politics › Re: Electoral Reforms: INEC Should Be Mandated To Send All Election Data To The NBS. by BluntCrazeMan(op): 5:50pm On May 29, 2024
BluntCrazeMan:
The National Assembly should amend the Section-62-(subsection-2) of the Electoral-Act in such a way that the INEC should be mandated -- to within a SPECIFIED TIMEFRAME after the announcement of the results (Say; 2-weeks) -- publish on their website; ALL the Election Accreditation Data including the summarized final results, together with all the lower-level collated results and the various results of the various Polling-units -- for each of the elections that are concluded by the INEC.
(The Election Accreditation Data which are published on the website should come with all the possible categorizations and demographics fully represented).

..

The Electoral-Act should also be amended in such a way to mandate the INEC -- to within a SPECIFIED TIMEFRAME after the announcement of the results (Say; 2-weeks) -- Formally/Officially send ALL the Election Accreditation Data including the summarized final results to the office of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) for statistical documentation purposes.
The NBS (after receiving the set of data from the INEC) should be mandated by the Electoral-Act to run series of necessary independent consistency-tests on the whole set of data received (without any further compulsory input from the INEC during the period of the consistency-tests) before making the data public on their platforms; from where independent researchers can have access to the election data.

The maximum timeline for the election data to be made public by the NBS (including the publishing of the comprehensive reports which showed all the methodologies and the full results of all the consistency-tests which they conducted on the election results) should also be specified inside the Electoral-Act.. (Say; 3-weeks).

(The Election Accreditation Data that is sent to the NBS by the INEC should have all the possible categorizations and demographics fully represented in it)

The Electoral-Act should also indicate what would happen to the sets of data that were sent to the NBS, should in case the dataset fails the mandatory consistency-tests that would be conducted by the NBS.

Politics › Re: Yoruba community in Abia felicitates with Gov Otti, seeks Commissioner/SA role by BluntCrazeMan: 1:36pm On May 29, 2024
See them.!!
This request is borne out of stark bigotry.

What exactly is the percentage of the Yoruba population in Abia State for them to even think about making such a request.??

They just want to have it in their book-of-bad-records against Abia State that they made such a not-well-thought-out and ill-timed request, and it was treated with non-challance..

Just imagine what their main problem in Abia is..
Just for one of them to be in the politics of the state.
Just like that?
What is their contribution to the state?
Or politically speaking,, what had been their contribution to the success of Otti.??

((Why wouldn't they make such a request in Imo State which is even APC.??))

What defect or lacuna will it cure? Is Nigeria a country that values figures and statistics?

That should be our starting point. Otherwise, this will be another value to waste public funds.
The timeline for making the whole results publicly available as fast as possible..

..

Nobody can tell us (up till this very moment) the reasons why the RIVERS STATE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION ON THE IREV-PORTAL was totally different from what the INEC announced..
The major reason being that,, INEC still hoarded the results up till this very moment.

The main aim of this new Legislation is to make the INEC to be compulsorily compelled (through another independent body) to have no other options left for them, other than to bare the whole results to this independent body, who now has the obligation to analyse the data and release same to the general public and to the whole world.

The reforms whether attitudinal or organogram wise must start somewhere. The current vicious cycle of electoral stagnation, abuse of electoral and democratic processes and lack of electoral credibility can not continue. It will definitely add to the issues that will consume this nation in the long run if not addressed.
It had already started affecting the people.

Just watch out for what will happen in Edo and Ondo later this year.

The turnout will be low,, even with all the noise and hype.
And then,, the rigging will be electronic this time..
(Unlike the manual rigging they did in Kogi and Imo last year)

You will definitely go dumb after they are through with what they have in their vaults..

You know..
With the Consistency-Tests as part of the procedures for the validation of election results,, it only means two things..

1. INEC must now have to be doing their due diligence while conducting their elections, so that their results would come out good in the end.. This means that their main aim would now be for their results to pass the Consistency-tests which comes after the elections.
Therefore, their main aim would no more be for them to rush the whole process under tight secrecy and quickly declare any winner of their choice.

2. INEC must now have to send all the data to the NBS without holding any of the data back, because any data they refuse to send would definitely affect the results of the Consistency-tests very badly..

...

This would serve as the major (and also the first series of the) CHECKS-AND-BALANCES which the INEC’s results must always pass through after every elections they finished conducting.. (( Whichever the pattern they choose to conduct their elections,, whether manual, electronic, telephonic, mobile, or even SOLAR))..
