It takes two to tangle. Both men and women are to be blame. Our society doesn't give much opportunities to women compared to men, hence the free time women have they use it do house chores while men provide.

The issue is just men adjusting in doing home chores and women contributing significantly to the house budget but no both parties want to maintain default settings.

Also issue of infidelity is a deal breaker.
I think women have as much opportunities as men, infact there are more women in schools than men

Money is a serious issue when you live abroad. This is because you both work and earn and there are bills to pay. Sometimes the wife might even earn higher

The Catholic priest is not like a Pentecostal pastor that you can hire and fire at will. You cannot fire a priest because you didn't hire him. Priests are ordained not hired

I had to change the topic from ladies to people because both genders are guilty of age falsification.

Lol... Most Nigerians grew up to see integrity as a bad thing. The system is bleeped already!. Only few that got to realize early tend to be different.
That is true, I believe underachievement is also a factor. Perhaps, one had thought that he/she should be married at a certain age but when they had passed that age with nothing to show for, they retire to self deceit. Age falsification is the first step

Why are ladies always uncomfortable about their age? There was one time I was opportune to be among the panel that was recruiting for our retail business, only for a lady to lie about her age on her CV. Unfortunately her BVN, account and ID had different dates. Lying about your age is an integrity issue

A friend who resides abroad wanted his babe to open a domiciliary account so that he can send her cash frequently. We had a chat about it over the phone and I told him I would assist her with references if she had none. Few days later I invited her to the office.

I beckoned one of the sales associate to collate her docs and make copies. While they were both conversing (I was busy preparing docs for a client facility ) I wasn't paying attention. The sales guy had to call my attention. He said she has an account and should only fill an update form that he can download and retrieve the previous docs.

I said that is fine. Only for the lady to ask the guy "please which date of birth should I use"? " I mean which date of birth did I use in the other account "? I wanted to laugh but I was too distracted. The associate told her to write her correct date of birth.

She said she had used many in the past. I just told her to leave it blank and have a nice day....Please feel free to contribute if you have witnessed such.

Fear factor have finished Nigerians. You no do marriage like this, like that, then you no go born - why won't someone come reap where they didn't sow.

I say girl take your marriage planning into your own hands and have a say where everything should go.
All the food and stuff collected should go to the bride.
Then she can do distribution or take everything with her to her new home.

Marriage and death = money generating business as usual for greedy family members.

Long throat and poverty mentality.

Why invite the family members in the first place. You can just do your stuff and ignore them

And you think you are upholding tradition by supporting lies posted here, first lie 300k can never be bride price, second bride price is never shared by the elders bride price belongs to the parents of the bride, third bride price can never be collected nor shared to the brother or sister to the bride, if you know what culture and traditions is you won't be arguing any further, what is posted here it's no culture but a Twitter cruise.
Where I come from bride price goes higher than that and lower than that. Depends on how much the suitor is willing to spare. Bride prices are shared. In my place, male elders have a mandatory 50k while women can get up to 40k plus that of the parents. Minimum required bride price is 50k cos the men don't compromise even if women and parents do decide to let go of theirs

What they posted here is fake information, in the first place bride price money can never be shared by the elders as they wrote their, nothing concerns elders sharing or even being the ones to give the mother of the bride N5000 it's not culture at all its all lies and fake, bride price is determined by the elders with the parents of the bride present and whatever money realize goes to the parents of the bride, mother and father infact the guy who posted that rubbish on Twitter was even saying he was expecting to be given a share of the money that is wrong, bride price is solely paid to the parents of the bride, elders can not get a share of the money, it's fake information it's not a culture of any tribe at all, infact any body saying bride price is 300k doesn't know any thing about paying a woman's dowry, research and find out, not everything you read online you believe, I drop my pen.
I am not interested in the money (of course it is low). My point is let tradition/culture be. If that is the culture, respect it. If elder takes all, respect. I exalt my ancestors and I don't like people talking down about their culture

So the aim of training my daughters well is for me to be able to cash out during their wedding?

Only hungry families would ask for 300k as brideprice, especially when the woman who trained the daughter was only able to get 5k. After eating the 300k they'll still return to fleece on the couple.

Guys should be careful of the kind of family they're gonna marry from.
If I were to marry as I have planned (God's willing) my minimum budget should be 500k for bride price. I am not marrying a nonentity. Bride price ain't fixed but I can't tell my girlfriend that I am paying 300k for bride price cos she is on a deputy manager's grade (credit risk manager) with a commercial bank. We spend more than than on a short vacation. I don't know if you get my point.
