Is it possible and advisable to front load medicals even before assessment result is out.

Am asking because it's likely a "bun in the oven" story might enter the equation before EOI.

I like to factor in all variables when I make my calculations.
Better to keep that "bun" out of the oven if you can help it o... Other people dey the same situation wey dey put "buns" on hold.... But ya, I have not seen anything that prevents you from doing medicals even before submitting EOI... I merely haven't seen anybody who has done it... grin

We do not qualify for 189 because Call or contact center manager, is only on SA's special conditions(80 points) list. Having calculated our points, it's 70
Age: 30
Qualification: 15
Experience: 5
English test(assumed): 20

Meanwhile, a closely related occupation- Customer service Manager is available on 489. That's why we're considering it.
This is a classic case of not having an option.... proceed bro... but wait, you said WE... What about Partner points? that should put you on 75... add nomination, = 80...

@ Bnimz, I do not think it is hard for someone to convert 489 to 887 as long as you either work part or full time also you can still get a professional jobs with 489.

I have a friend in NT that went with 489 in 2014, he is a lecturer (Dr)in one of the university they just got their PR late last year I believe everything is God grace and favor.

You can imagine Northern territory that always issue 489 even when you apply for 190 and they are the only state that nominate your skill what will the person do reject it and stay in Naija because it's 489.
Certainly one can get professional jobs.. I merely said its tougher than if you have PR...

And yes, all na God's favor, afterall people get jobs without having any visa at all.. from outside the country.. wey be say na employer sef go con dey hustle the visa for dem...

And yes of course 489 is FAR better than staying in naija... Staying in naija is not an option at all.... grin

All I was saying is, just as Bellong said, as long as you qualify for 189 or 190, 489 is not an attractive option... its the last resort when you have no other choice...

Thanks bnimz but I'm trying to avoid pro rata list... my total point is 75 grin or with this my high point does it mean I don't have to wait f 6months for ITA.
I read somewhere that prorata means longerr waiting time
My current employer has an office in adelaide that's why am shooting for SA nomination on on 190
5 points from SA nomination.... Those occupations are on SOL, which means no state nomination required which means you have 70 points.

in addition, both occupations are pro-rata at 65 points. with 70 points, you'll jump the entire pro-rata queue and get invited immediately.. no waiting.

As for current employer... 189 gives you freedom to work in ALL STATES... that includes SA.

SA state nomination for SYSTEM Administrator now requires a whooping 80points. Can anyone suggest another occupation for a computer science graduate.

Yet to put in for ACS though
Any advice
Computer network professionals

or Software and Applications Programmers

You studied Computer Science... surely you can do one of those two... They are both on SOL... pro-rata.. but then, you just calculated 70 points.,....

From readings on page 0, you show no much support for the subclass 489 visa due to the lack of support from government. E.g medicare.
Apart from the above, can you please highlight any other downside to this visa category. Is it that it might be impossible or difficult in some cases to be able to convert to a permanent visa after the first two years elapses? Cheers
I have a downside to tell you about... extensive search of the job websites in Australia has made it evident to me that there is one major requirement to get most professional jobs... "Applicant must be a Citizen or a Permanent Resident" ... with any other visa, 489 included, its quite difficult to get jobs in your own profession... na low-key jobs pesin go dey mainly do.... 489 costs the same as the others... more actually, each region in NSW for example charges extra A$770 for the application... so, what bellong said is understandable - if you qualify for 189 or 190, its better to do them straight up...

And theres another issue.. converting to Permanent resident visa 887 from 489 depends on having a job for 12 months out of the two years.... now we dont know whether that job has to be a professional job...and we've already established that professional jobs are hard to get on that visa.

I'm wondering if this applies to EA........was thinking it's the assessing body's head ache to verify employment history and allocate points. Does DIPB still re-verify the same experience?
The assessing body decides whether the employment is CLOSELY RELATED or RELEVANT to the nominated occupation...as well as how many years of employment are relevant...what skill level the employment was at... etc... the technical professional ish...

DIBP verifies whether the employment claim is GENUINE in the first place.... see the difference?

Do you NEED the work experience points? If you dont, you can proceed to EOI or try to make up with English.. I remember only Reading was 78... He'll get the required score this time around.

Congrats. see Gigantic points ontop occupation wey no get competition....
My advice bro, dont claim work experience points in your EOI.... You must have submitted by now, but go and edit it and make all your work experience NOT RELEVANT. reason be say, DIBP SABI WASTE TIME verifying work experience o. If you submit without work experience, your grant can land in 2, 3 weeks... with work experience, na months o, especially if you fall into the hands of those niggas at GSM Brisbane...

65 Points will get you invited as a Valuer in the next round on Feb 1st... dont complicate tinz with work experience.. cheers

From this analysis, you actually have 45 points.. I didnt notice earlier that the degree overlapped with part of the work experience... They definitely wont give you the full 6 years after degree cos as an ICT Major, they count the first two years after the degree as not being at professional level. ... so, 5 points there... you really have to retake PTE.. There are enough PTE success stories in the house and most people didnt make the required scores at the first attempt either... you cant afford to leave 20 points wasted without even trying.... And now I leave the rest to the ACS guys... where are Bolaobby and SunVick?

Hello
1. Is there a reason why you posted this twice in less than two hours?
2. You need to take another PTE-A to get at least 65 in all sections so that you'll get 10 points from there. English points be like bonus, they shouldn't be wasted.
3. The ACS guys are coming, but yes, I presume you have 6 years cos ACS deducts the first four years of work experience. if you are not an ICT Major.
4. I think both 189 and 190 are still possible. dont relegate yourself to 489 yet

Does it matter? We call it roommate, so its one and the same except that we have separate rooms of course. The naija definition is a bit off though since a guy and girl should not share the same 'room' unless something was going on between both.
your last statement right there is the answer to the question in your first statement ... It matters because there is very little temptation being in the same house. Once you share a ROOM though, it's a different ball game.

And the naija definition isn't off... If anything its a clearer definition of exactly what the heck is going on in the house....

I currently have two white female roommates (who are both very good-looking grin) and we are all cool. The thought of sex with any and everybody is bullshit really, sometimes there has to be boundaries with some people. One of them is a fellow masters degree student and the other is in her fourth year of undergrad. I share bathroom with one of them and the only issue is that we always run out of toilet paper, we all hang out and relax together on Friday nights/go together to the movies on Tuesdays - No big deal except you are a kid.

Its probably only in naija where you go into this things without setting ground rules.

from the bolded statement i'm not sure you grab the naija meaning of roommate.. what you just talked about up there na housemate (different rooms in the same flat or house)... no biggie... .. na roommate, as in sharing the SAME ROOM we dey talk about.

IMO, it is almost impossible to overhaul your pronunciation within one or two months of PTE preparation. It is like changing your accent within a short period of time and expect to be proficient at it.
This is true. I pulled off that voice switch perfectly only because I don dey practice am for years.. .. Its basically my default accent and intonation for mimicking female speech... Anytime I wan report what a girl said, na hin I dey enter that voice mode, since uni days, .. .. . It would have been quite difficult to master and maintain it in exam conditions otherwise..
