Been a while since I showed up here... Glad to see the ministry is moving forward... As for updates, I got my first professional job the 4th week after arrival... Its a field engineer job. So there's a lot of driving, flying and living in hotels involved all fully funded by the company ... I'm currently typing from Brisbane Airport in fact... Sharply come do some work for Queensland ...... I digress.... Considering the fact that I had just one year experience after graduation before coming here,, this is a huge step up for me... Keep hope alive guys... It will all work out fine in the end. Cheers |
18.6million naira per Annum... He asked for monthly salary... That is about 1.5M monthly.... However, don't look at it with Naija eyes... Cos cost of living is much higher. |
AdeyinkaSeun:Baba mi, I don't know what suburb you are in but mehn, from this description, your area rugged gaan o... But the thing is, there's no country or city in the world that doesn't have have rugged Hood zones.... I'm in Syd... And the suburb where I live, the peace of mind no be small thing... Man dey forget car for street for days and nothing go do am... Man dey walk for street at 2am and nothing dey happen... However, less than 20km away in Bankstown, no news wey pesin no dey hear from there... Na for Bankstown dem shoot pesin in broad daylight about two weeks ago... Na there dem stab police officer... The one wey funny to me pass, I hear say pesin park Range Rover for broad daylight.. Go do shopping... come back.. All the wheels and alloy rims dey missing.. As for racism, in my experience, most of the discrimination comes from fellow immigrants especially Asians. The Australians really no send pesin... These other countries you've been to, I for like sabi whether you lived in them or went on holidays... Cos there's a big difference between the two.. If you were holidaying in Mel, trust me, you would only have experienced the best of the best... Cos, of course you'll bring big money. You'll stay in good hotels, you'll only visit tourist attractions. ... When I was living in the United Kingdom, I couldn't stand the high and mighty attitudes of the British and the subtle discrimination from all the other Europeans... Despite the fact that Europeans are more familiar with black faces... I'm really sorry about your experiences, but if you have this impression of Australia , I really don't want to know what you'll say about the United States where as a black person, your biggest threat na the trigger-happy police themselves... Just thought I'd drop my opinion.. Cheers! |

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: Hi house, sorry for the absence. I left Murtala Muhammad Airport on Friday 18th by 6pm.. Emirates... Booked via IOM ... #371,682. Stopped over at Dubai... They had another stop at Bangkok that wasn't on the itinerary... Anyway, arrived Sydney on Sunday 7:45am Sydney time... Passed through immigration in about 30 seconds... They didn't ask for any document.... They didn't even stamp my passport sef... Merely swiped it on one kind machine... Collected luggage, they put it through an xray machine and declared that I was good to go... Got out of the airport. Was picked up by my surest people (Jamson and McTowel01).. I've been doing the necessary Medicare, bank account, etc stuff... Thanks to everyone who helped make this a reality.. Really appreciate. First impressions? I prefer this place to the UK already.. Wide roads, big houses.. Really cool.. Still settling down,... I'll update the house when there's more news.. Cheers.. ![]() |
mamajaz:yes legally... Except the visa says you can't work |
mamajaz:You are a nurse ma, there is absolutely no doubt that you will get a job to do in the Aged/disability care sector with great ease even during the bridging program... Fear not. |
The Nairaland forum should be maintained though.. A new site won't be as popular as Nairaland... Plus this forum has helped a lot of lives.. A new site can be created but this one needs to remain as well .... Just my opinion |
ItsYourFriend:Nope, nope.... @ phemmy28 Medicine is the biggest migration headache in existence after LAW in my opinion. .. I assessed as an Electronic Engineer.. And I can confidently tell you,, going via the Engineer's pathway is the best route..... Infact, lets put it this way, the engineer's route is engineered for maximum speed and success... while the medical route is stressful enough to land someone in the hospital ![]() |
Congratulations lalaazo ![]() |
babiechic:Ya. I used student copy. It was colored though. |
To obtain transcript from lautech now no dey possible o.. Pray the strike ends.... I used the transcript I requested before the strike. |
jayooh:CPD is not as big a deal as you are making it... Just write some seminars you've heard about... Write like 5 engineering magazines or journals. .. If you have any small work experience that you can afford to leave out of your cv or at least that you don't plan to assess....put it there as service to the engineering profession... That's all |
Prolivingproof:I no see the pm o. Send am again |
omo1010:Engineers are not allowed to use PTE for Assessment.... However we can and do use PTE-A for Visa purposes... Most people here got their 20 points from PTE-A... Including the engineers |
Kelvinkate:But wetin concern transcript with age in the first place? As in, that information has no business being on the transcript at all ![]() |
It is 1000 - 2500 ... My 4 episodes were approximately 1300, 1800, 1500 and 1700 respectively... So, ya, you don't need an epistle for positive assessment... |
jayooh:Nope... Its going to be a little while before I move.. Man still dey gather small small change.. Send pm for the cpd |
Good evening house... ![]() |
Azy123:Problem with that is that many occupations will suffer for it.. Cos nobody will ever get invited with 60 points... If you sabi the kind backlog of 65 pointers in some occupations.... You go fear fear... |
Word! |
babylove01:The implication is really straightforward... When its time to get citizenship,, the person is likely to hear some VERY funny and VERY unpalatable stories..... Pretty sure I read that on the website of one of the states. Basically the same way someone who doesn't stay in the state that sponsored his 489 is extremely unlikely to get his 887 PR visa afterwards |
castrokins:Tricky situation... The experience doesn't seem to be related to the qualification at all... Probably the ACS guys should comment on this matter... |
castrokins:it might be equivalent to AQF Diploma... Which gives 10 points... Your experience might be able to cover the rest.... It all depends on your occupation though. |
Mcslize:Cheers |
