FoolaniHellman:The gullibles making statement's like you,are the same people ,saying Ndigbo dont know politics ![]() Yall forget that without an Igboman "Ogbonaya Onu,the Yorubas with there defunct, regional political party "ANC" was actually no-where ;nationally. Until ;2010-Ogbonnaya Onu, as National Chairman of the defunct ANPP, he initiated discussions with the leadership of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria {ACN} on how all the major opposition political parties could work together to effect change in the politics of the country. Later he also initiated meetings with the National Chairmen of all major opposition political parties. All these efforts and many others, finally resulted in the merger of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Congress for Progressive Change, (CPC), and groups from the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), and the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP). Hence on July 31, 2013, the All Progressives Congress (APC), came into existence. Dr. Onu and other party leaders willingly gave up their positions as INEC withdrew the registration of ACN, ANPP and CPC. On November 26, 2013, the new PDP, broke away from the ruling political party and joined the APC. This helped make the APC, the largest opposition political party in the history of the country. Stop the hate ;Ndigbo play politics but make more sacrifices for the betterment of other tribesmen and tribeswomen. Thank you.

Even though I will prefer a referendum right now in Nigeria not election;also I dont truly trust Nigerian politicians ;and that Pandora scandal. Peter Obi was excellent as a FORMER Governor of Anambra state, Mr Peter Obi was the only governor in Nigeria that didn't borrow any money to run Anambra state. He left money for Mr Willie Obiano to inherit. His achievement was immaculate. The former Governor who spoke in an interview in Abuja said he has clear records of his achievements in office adding that he also has records of the financial balance sheet of the state when he left office. He was speaking against the backdrop of the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) which showed that the Federal Government and the states have sunk deeper into debt crisis. He also debunked insinuations in some quarters indicating that he had demanded that his successor pay him the sum of N7 billion. Obis said: “It is on record in this country, it is documented and I can prove it with every clear documented evidence that when I left office, I left over N25 billion in local investment for Anambra State. https://tribuneonlineng.com/obiano-inherited-no-debt-anambra-gov. I left over N25 billion in cash at the banks, and I left $156 million in the bank in Nigeria. Do you think anybody can leave such money and then go to tell the person he’s handing over to give him N7 billion, when I left over N75 billion? “I would have taken it first and then give them the balance and I will still be in good shape. Let me use the dollar as example. Nobody has ever left one dollar in any State in Nigeria. I left $156 million. $30 million alone is over N7 billion. If I had taken $36 million and left $120, I would have still been a champion. https://tribuneonlineng.com/obiano-inherited-no-debt-anambra-gov-

Enough of politics of recklessness in Nigeria By Stephen Kekeghe It is disgraceful that nations across the globe only conceive governance in Nigeria as a perfect model of a despicable political system; as a prototype of what not to be! Humans, the world over, think of Nigerians with so much pity— a hapless people in a very rich nation subjected to self-destruction; a country dominated by desperate and irresponsible rulers, who have only rascality, megalomania and misappropriation to offer to over 200 million vulnerable, cowardly, sycophantic but expectant people. While the Nigerian political rulers manifest rapacity and inanities of different degrees, the masses maintain their position of hollowness, either as ill fated people dying and smiling, or as hypocrites who sing-praise their tormentors to fame, in expectation of crumbs that may fall from the table of affluence for their pick. How can a leader successfully dehumanize the same people s/he swore to serve and protect, without any organized reaction of resentment from the oppressed? Nigeria, indeed, is a traumatized country. No government anywhere in the world can successfully coerce her citizenry into total submission to despotic rules without the complicity of the youth body. Sadly, in the Nigerian political landscape, the vitality of the youths, whom President Buhari stereotyped as ‘lazy’, is only utilized in thuggish activities by the avaricious political godfathers. To these plutocrats, who recycle themselves within the political space, young Nigerians, except their children, are not fit for any leadership position. The most visible political engagement left for the youth is hooliganism and social media praise-hood. Since we have failed to recognize that the politician is elected to serve the people, not to lord it over them, the masses will continually lie under the trodden feet of their rulers, most of whom are low heads in high places! One gets very enraged thinking of how President Buhari’s government resents the same democratic principles that prepared the way for his emergence as a president of Africa’s most populous country in the 21st century. How this government animalizes decent, harmless protesters and exalts terrorists and bandits is what one finds very difficult to comprehend. Is it not distressing that herdsmen that slaughter our people and rape our women needed grazing reserve to stop killing? Is it not disturbing that the Boko Haram sects, after maiming thousands of innocent Nigerians, are to enjoy prestigious scholarship abroad under government’s expenses? These same people that have brought eternal anguish to families and the Nigerian psychosocial space are pampered by a government that dehumanizes decent and civil citizens. This is happening in a country where there is no definite plan for her educated youths, who have been coerced not to ask questions about their pathetic conditions. The dehumanization of unarmed protesters under the umbrellas of Nnamdi Kanu’s IPOB and Omoyele Sowore’s RevolutionNow are some distressing episodes in a government of grief and groans, which cows every Nigerian, for a thriving perpetration of its depravities. The Nigerian masses are highly vulnerable— they are oppressed and brutalized by the politicians, Boko Haram sects, herdsmen, police, army, armed robbers and kidnappers. The Nigerian masses are literally on their own! Political practice in Nigeria is distasteful; there is no decency and modesty— perhaps, one has to be significantly insane or mentally wrecked to fit into the big business of politicking. Nigerian democracy is simply a demonstration of crazy power seekers. When Plato declared that the ‘politician is goaded on to madness’ he might have perceived the psychotic manifestations in Nigerian politics, not the universal neurotic episodes that are triggered by ambition and obsession with power. We are in a country where we are entertained by the absurdist political theatre of Dino Melaye (a messianic misfit), the outlandish conducts of Rochas Okorocha (the lover of statues), who scored great marks on farcical theatrics by appointing his sister, Ogechi Ololo as Commissioner for Happiness and Couples’ Fulfillment. It is in this country that the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, appointed a Special Assistant on Unmarried Women Affairs. In all of these, there are young people with the vitality of rhetoric and physical strength to applaud them. This is the pathetic relationship between most Nigerian leaders and their followers, the blind leading people with active sight into a dungeon. In Nigeria, the commitment of the average politician is only witnessed in electioneering seasons. During pre-election campaigns, politicians manifest a strange vigor, dedication and humility. They would visit every single community in their constituency, hug the paupers, eat with the lame, shake hands with lepers etc. After the elections, siren and silence greet every promise made during campaigns and rallies. These are the chameleonic dispositions that define political practice in Nigeria. This is not about All Promises Cancelled (APC) or People Deceiving People (PDP); it is about a group of people with a common vision to magu and pondei our collective fortunes. When you have moralists like Buhari, whose jobless son, Yusuf, could drive a multimillion power-bike ($157, 000; approximately N56 million) in a country where hardworking youths are regarded as lazy; Magu, who chased thieves to mend his pale pocket, Professor Pondei, who believed that the overall essence of leadership is to leaders, not the led, then, we have nothing else to say: the country is doomed and in urgent need of redemption! Are you not repulsed that Godwin Obaseki is now in PDP and Osagie Ize-Iyamu is now in APC? This attests to the fact that in Nigeria, political parties have no ideologies; they are social descents for people who scheme to enrich themselves desperately. Adams Oshiomole is currently struggling to altar insults and praises; social media boys are battling to adjust to their masters’ madness as violence is unleashed on Edo State. Do you have to be irredeemably mad to gain political power and its privileges? Schools are on lockdown to contain a virus but politicians are ‘buying’ crowds in Edo State to demonstrate their ridiculous political egos. Are these people normal at all? Sadly, Nigerian jobless youths are busy in the social media landscape analyzing the potency of campaign crowds, of APC versus PDP. The Nigerian masses are taken for a ride. This is why President Buhari would boldly announce to Nigerians that he was going to the Republic of Mali to help resolve their political crises. He forgot about his wilting country. What could be more reckless than leaders unpretentiously looting the resources of a country? What justification has the FG that it expended ₦523.3 million on school feeding program during the lockdown against the coronavirus? The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development (MHADMSD), Sadiya Farouq, announced this condescendingly at the Presidential Taskforce on Monday 3 August in Abuja. How many household did they get to with their take home ration? Is this not insanity? It is this normalization of looting that would make NDDC moralists under IMC misappropriate ₦4.9 billion within three months and they had all the vocal energy to justify it. Believing that they were dealing with gullible people, the Acting Managing Director, Professor Pondei, resorted to mock-fainting. Social Media boys and girls were kept busy for that moment and then, there was silence! there was silence! How can a country with such reckless rulers make any significant progress? Nigeria is among the tenth countries with the world’s largest oil reserves but it cannot boost of a significant productive refinery. We continue to export crude and import fuel at exorbitant prices. If there is no enough money to meet up with their extravagant lifestyle, our politicians borrow and share among themselves. This is how they will literally sell the country to China. Though among the tenth producer of crude in the world, Nigeria is nowhere in the refining of crude. The twenty five largest refineries in the world are from Asia, North America, South America, Europe and Middle East. Thanks to Aliko Dangote, who is currently building one in Lagos. In Nigeria, as at 1953, oil was already discovered in Akata, near Eket and later in Oloibiri in 1956, which became operational in commercial quantity in 1958. From 1956 to 1966 oil and gas was discovered in different parts of Nigeria in commercial quantity. Do you know what? Oil was first discovered in Dubai in 1966 and became operational in 1969. Today, United Arab Emirate is the pride of the world while Nigeria is a laughing stock of the world! Universities are on lockdown because of a pandemic but the global space is shifting to digital strategies; not a single effort to encourage digitalization of the Nigerian educational system. Those who decide for Nigeria must be haters of education and lovers of trivialities. Political appointment is an empowerment, not a commitment to serve. This is why Nigeria wrinkles like their greying minds and limbs. This is the pathetic reality. The unruliness in the Nigerian politics has influenced every facet of the country. This is why violence and unhealthy rascality is witnessed in elections conducted by associations of medical doctors, lawyers, creative writers, farmers, transporters, teachers, students etc. It is a wind of depravity that has overwhelmed every part of the nation. This is because Nigerian leaders privilege hooliganism and terrorism in place of decency and modesty. It is a dismal situation. Tufie! Zandena:Who believes the lie that there are more people in the North than in the South? In 2011, more votes were cast in Zamfara than the total number of legitimately-registered voters, according to the revelation of INEC’s clean-up exercise. Everything turns upside down in Nigeria. Logic becomes illogical. Wisdom becomes foolishness. Two plus two becomes seven. Hospitals become mortuaries. Stealing is not corruption. Education is a sin. In Nigeria, so many things fly in the face of simple commonsense. One major example is the ridiculous idea that, by some inexplicable freak of nature, more people live in the arid less-developed Northern part of Nigeria than in the wet, coastal, more-developed South. Insult to intelligence The larger population of the North is an elephant in the Nigerian living-room. According to the last disputed census of 2006, there are 75 million Nigerians living in the North and 65 million in the South. This is balderdash! As long as we continue to accept such blatant lie, there can be no true democracy in Nigeria. Electoral results must continue to be falsified to conform to it. As long as we continue to entertain such outright falsehood, we shall continue to be subjected to a “born to rule” mentality on the part of some mischievous Northern politicians. The assertion that there are more people in the North than in the South is an insult to intelligence and commonsense. All over West Africa, the coastal states are more densely and highly populated than the arid desert hinterlands. Nobody has been able to come up with a reasonable reason why Nigeria would be the only exception to this rule. Most of the people in Egypt live on a strip along the Nile River. But in Nigeria, we are meant to believe most of the people live in the desert. Some make the case that Northern polygamy leads to more births. If so, why are there only 30 million people in Saudi Arabia, a country more than twice the size of Nigeria? The Saudis are also polygamous. If there are so many more live-births in the North than in the South, this should be reflected in children immunization programs: but it is not. Everything we know about demographics contradicts the inflated population of the North relative to the South. The economic opportunities in the South far outweigh those in the North. That means economic migration is bound to be southward and not northward. The states with the highest internally generated revenues all come from the South; while eight of the last ten are from the North. No Northern state features in the top ten. Mythical Kano The North regularly trots up Kano as the largest state of the federation, but there is no doubt that this is also pure fiction. There is no way that there can be more people in Kano State than in Lagos State or even Oyo State. Let me be even more categorical. Kano cannot be as populous as Ibadan. Kano cannot even have half the population of Lagos. We were told Kano State was bigger in population than Lagos State. Then Jigawa State was carved out of Kano in 1991. But lo and behold, the remaining rump of Kano was still bigger than Lagos. In 1991, we were told there were 5.8 million people in Kano State, while 5.7 million were in Lagos. In 2006, Kano was awarded a population of 9.4 million; more than Lagos which was given 9.1 million. In the meantime, Jigawa was awarded 4.3 million people in 2006. If this were to be believed, it would mean Kano (including Jigawa) had outpaced Lagos by more than four million people by 2006. That is impossible. Moreover, Kano was awarded 44 local government areas; Jigawa 27 and Lagos only 20. Why any right-thinking person would believe Kano State has more people than Lagos State is beyond me. For years, the total amount of internally generated revenue in Kano was less than 6 billion naira a year. In the last year or so, it is now averaging 20 billion. But get this: the internally generated revenue in Lagos is 219 billion naira. So why would people be moving to Kano instead of Lagos? Where are the jobs in Kano to attract them relative to Lagos? Why would more people keep moving to Kano where there is insurgency; from Maitasine to Boko Haram, relative to Lagos where there is none? The answer is simple. The large population of Kano relative to Lagos is bogus. It is pure fiction! If there were more people in Kano than in Lagos, it would show up, for example, in waste-generation. How much waste does Kano produce relative to Lagos? The answer is only a fraction. How many houses and physical structures are there in Kano relative to Lagos? There is no comparison. Google satellite maps show a concentration of people and houses in Kano city centre. Everywhere else is sparsely populated. This is not the case with Lagos. It is not the case with Ibadan. It is not the case with Aba. If there are so many people up North, where are the people? Where do they live? Which vehicles take them from A to B? How many of these vehicles are in Kano relative to Lagos? Only a fraction! Magical Zamfara Precisely because we have accepted the lie of Northern population supremacy over the South, Attahiru Jega and his INEC cohorts decided to sneak further falsehood past us. Having discovered far more double-registration of voters in the North than in the South, INEC still went ahead to create additional polling units, allocating a disproportionate number of these to the North. However, the very audacity of INEC in the attempted perpetration of this fraud has brought to light certain anomalies in the 2011 elections, especially as it relates to the North-West. INEC’s recent cleanup exercise of the voters register is a big indictment of the North. INEC discovered that there are far more double-registration of voters in the North than in the South. The greatest fraud in this regard is committed in the North-West, and the most fraudulent state in the country turns out to be Zamfara. Sokoto and Zamfara states border the Republic of Niger. Niger Republic is 19 times bigger than Sokoto and Zamfara put together in land area. And yet, we are meant to believe that in 2006, Sokoto and Zamfara had a combined total population of 6.9 million; more than half of Niger Republic’s population of 12.9 million. Zamfara’s fictitious population in the 2006 census was 3.2 million. Nevertheless, INEC registered 2 million voters for Zamfara for the 2011 elections. That means 62.5% of the people in Zamfara registered to vote. (This is roughly equal to the 64% of people who registered to vote in the 2012 elections in the United States; a country of far higher voter-awareness and socialisation). This is fraud of the highest order for the simple reason that 62.5% of the population of Zamfara cannot be eligible to vote. The voting age in Nigeria is 18 years. According to U.N. demographics, 44% of Nigerians are below the age of 15. This means under no circumstances can 50% of the population anywhere in Nigeria be said to have registered to vote in any election. It is not surprising therefore that although INEC registered 2 million voters for the 2011 elections in Zamfara, the same INEC discovered in its clean-up exercise this year that 1.1 million of those voters (over 50%) were fraudulent; the result of double registration. Voodoo results That means only 914,886 of the names on the Zamfara register could be verified as not pertaining to double registration. (This does not tell us how many of the remaining names are fictitious). But then get this: according to INEC records, 927,219 people voted in Zamfara in the 2011 presidential election; mostly for Buhari. That means more votes were cast in Zamfara than the total number of legitimately-registered voters, according to the revelation of INEC’s clean-up exercise. Let us put this in stark terms. It means, according to INEC, over 100% of the Zamfara electorate voted in 2011. What malarkey! By the time we factor in the fictitious names that must have been in the register, we can see that the figures coming out of Zamfara have nothing whatsoever to do with reality. In Zamfara, there is procedural inflation of figures pertaining to population and elections. This gives us an idea of how fraudulent the North-West of Nigeria is with regard to population and electoral figures. This is not to say that manipulation and falsification of figures is not standard operational procedure in other states of the federation, but INEC revealed that it is most exaggerated in the North in general and in the North-West in particular. It is not surprising therefore that, in the 2011 presidential election, there were 10.6 million “voters” from the North-West alone; twice the number of voters from either the South-West (4.6 million) or the South-East (5 million). This is preposterous, and is nothing but one big lie! Back to Jega It is on this fictitious super-structure of a larger population in the North relative to the South that Jega’s INEC based its outrageous allocation of 21,000 additional polling booths to the North, relative to 8,000 to the South. In defense of this regional-chauvinism, Hakeem Baba-Ahmad added insult to injury by saying: “Jega admitted that many states in the south did not even deserve the number of units they got, but for the inclusion of the principle of fairness and equity. In other words, if INEC had been strict in sharing out the units in accordance with voting population and geography, the north would have received even more.” What poppycock! In what appears to be the triumph of commonsense and logic, the Senate has advised Jega to suspend the allocation of new polling units until after the 2015 general elections. That should be the end of the matter. People who don’t understand how the Nigerian political system works feel Jega can ignore this advice. He cannot! The legislative branch of the government has oversight powers over the executive branch. Such a directive from the legislature to an arm of the government is not subject to debate. It must be obeyed otherwise Jega will be sanctioned. O I repeat having a Muslim region ,doesnt guarantee multiple population. Latest statistics have shown that in 2016 more than half a million Saudi men are reported to have more than one spouse at a time. ... A recent annual report on polygamy, a common practice in Saudi Arabia, has revealed that around 73000 men between the age of 25 to 49 engaged in polygamous. By Femi Aribisala Google map have shown evidence that the northern population is a fallacy, your cell phone sim card names and regions have shown evidence of the fraudulent population, yall pressent up north.I dont care about your population up north, but yall are using a false population index report ,to steal economic, and political advantage, away from the resources of the south. Most Nigerian Politicians Are Drug Barons, Internet Scammers --Anambra Governor-elect, Soludo He said politics had become a big business in Nigeria, adding that many drug barons and Internet scammers have flocked into politics to avoid being arrested. The Anambra State governor-elect, Charles Soludo, has called for a new liberation movement in Africa and Nigeria. According to him, this will promote selfless service among political leaders. Soludo, an ex-governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, who won the November 6, 2021 Anambra governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, spoke on Saturday. He said politics had become a big business in Nigeria, adding that many drug barons and Internet scammers have flocked into politics to avoid being arrested. He said, “Indeed, Africa needs a new liberation movement. The first struggle was liberation from the colonial masters. The second will be liberation from rentier politics and politicians. For me, there is almost a sense of nostalgia, recalling the mission and accomplishments of our founding fathers, especially as we contemplate the world without oil in Nigeria. “Much of the existing social order is founded on competition for, and distribution of, rents. Oil and the easy money that came with it destroyed the social fabric and the elite created new institutions and political structures to maximise their gains. As the noose tightened globally on other rentier/criminal enterprises such as drug trafficking or internet scamming, many of the barons flocked into politics as the next easy alternative. “Politics has become big business. Appointment or election into public office is seen largely as an opportunity to ‘eat’ rather than a call to selfless service. There is an army of rich (big men) who have never worked or done any productive work in their life and believe that it is their right to expect something for nothing. “The tiny less than one per cent elite have a stranglehold on the public purse, sprinkling occasional crumbs to the citizens as ‘dividends of democracy’. The citizens themselves either out of helplessness or acquiescence join the party, expecting the politicians to dole out pittance out of public treasury as charity.” Sahara Reporters.

Another Fulani? We go die for una? APC to PDP ( papa destroying pikin)? Fulani abeg , nobody agreed or rectified your fraudulent 1999 constitution, according to OAU if a constitution is not rectified its noil and void. Yall in the north with a sharia law, have already booked your exit out of Nigeria by law. We want a referendum ,not an election to justify yall fruadulent 1999 constitution, that covers and protects the oppressors. US places Atiku, family under close watch over alleged fraud Highlighting how Atiku transferred money from Nigeria to US, the Online medium said: “In 1999, Atiku became Nigeria’s Vice-president and, thus, created a blind trust to hold his asset in Intels. It was the blind trust created in 1999 that GTCN was incorporated to manage in 2003, with Gabrielle Volpi. Akintola Kekere-Ekun, a banker, and Uyiekpen Osagie, a lawyer, as its directors and trustees. “An investigation (of the March 2012 wire transfer) identified GTCN as an alleged shell company that has been used to transfer over USD 10 million via wire transfers through U.S. banks on behalf of the former vice-president of Nigeria, Mr Atiku Abubakar,” “HBLNY’s review of public sources revealed that there have been numerous investigations of Mr Abubakar, as senior Politically Exposed Person (PEP), linking him to corruption allegations, possible Foreign Corrupt Practices Act foreign violations and money laundering.” Moreso, in 2010, the US Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations indicted GTCN alongside other companies linked to Atiku and Mr Volpi. The committee had investigated how “foreign senior political figures, their relatives, and associates may be circumventing or undermining anti-money laundering (AML) and PEP controls to bring funds that may be the product of foreign corruption into the United States.” Of the $40 million identified in the US Senate investigation regarding Atiku, $25 million was reportedly wire-transferred into more than 30 U.S. bank accounts opened by Jennifer Douglas, Atiku’s fourth wife. The wire transfers were primarily by GTCN, LetsGo Ltd. Inc., and Sima Holding Ltd. Both LetsGo and Sima are offshore corporations registered in Panama and the British Virgin Islands, respectively, and controlled by Mr Volpi, according to a letter to the Senate committee by the businessman’s lawyer, Raymond Shepherd of the Washington-based Venable firm. The transactions identified in the US Senate report were made while Atiku held office as Nigeria’s number two. The March 5, 2012 suspicious transaction reported by HBNYL was for the purchase of a flat in the “World Trade Centre residences” in Dubai for Rukaiyatu Abubakar, a senior wife of Atiku, through Tanjay, the transaction beneficiary. The following day, March 6, 2012, as the SAR shows, Deutsche Bank New York raised a compliance question in an information request to HBL Dubai regarding another wire transfer between GTCN and Tanjay in the sum of $200,000 dated January 25, 2012. This was also reported to be for a flat for Rukaiyatu Abubakar – and there was another CHF 741,000 transaction to which GTCN and Tanjay were also parties. The flagged 2012 wire transfers to Dubai triggered a further investigation, which revealed that GTCN had channelled several other transactions since May 2005, while Atiku was still Nigeria’s vice-president, to an account the company held with Habib Allied International Bank London, (HAIB, London) from multiple accounts held in Switzerland

The story of how Nigeria’s census figures ,became weaponized. Saudi Arabia is the headquarters of the Islamic religion. They practise the religion to the core . In fact, the holiest Islamic site is there. They practise polygamy. Mortality rate there is low. Standard of living and health conditions there are very excellent and they are very wealthy. They have access to the sea on all sides. Have a landmass of 2,149,000 sqkm. Yet, the country’s population as of 2015 stood at 28 million of which, eight million were foreigners. Nearer home in Africa, our next door neighbour up north is Chad. The landmass of Chad is 1,280,000 sqkm. It is almost 100% an Islamic state with the same culture, religion, agrarian and animal husbandry profession and even ethnicity as our brothers in the Northern part of Nigeria. They marry many wives too, but with a population of 13 million people. Ndjamena, its capital city nearer the Chadian basin and rivers, has a population of 700,000. Our other neighbour, Niger Republic, with a landmass of 1,270,000 sqkm, that shares the same culture, language, ethnicity, agrarian and animal husbandry profession and a religious practice that allows polygamy like our brothers up north, has a population of 18 million people. Now, move over to Northern Nigeria, with a landmass of 614,000 sqkm. Which is a quarter of that of Saudi Arabia, half of those of Chad and Niger and with very much higher mortality rate than Saudi Arabia but ravaged by poverty and disease with one of the worst health care systems in the world. No access to any river, sea or body of water like Saudi Arabia, yet someone wants me to believe that they have 90 million human beings living there. Now, wait for the bigger contradiction: Benue and Plateau states, the richest and greenest belt within the North, do not have as great a population as their neighbours, who live in the arid desert. Haba! How? By what magic? If you query them, they will tell you that their religion allows them to marry many wives. So, how come your brothers in Chad who marry so many wives and who also live by the great Lake Chad are not as populated as you are? Festus Odimegwu was on the verge of unravelling this mystery and exposing this grand fraud foisted on us by the British, as the Chairman of the Nigerian Population Commission, before President Goodluck Jonathan sacked him. That was one of the unforgettable and unforgiving sins of Jonathan against the Nigerian state. Look around you, from Sudan to Mauritania to Somalia to Egypt to Morocco, practising Muslim countries in parts of Africa with the same polygamous religious culture, some even with access to the sea, far greater landmass and healthier and richer health conditions. Check out their populations. We have registered GSM lines of over 143m with biometrics captured. Given that some people have more than one registered SIM cards. Please take out time to check the names and details of these SIM card owners and compare them with the fraudulent population demographics we have been fed with over the last 59 years. Kindly also check the voting population, spread and numbers from city to city in the 1993 presidential election that was adjudged to be the freest and fairest election in Nigeria. Please review the factors that influence the population of a given region or location at any time (it is an assignment) and tell me what you get. I have a friend, who is pilot. He has flown the length and breadth of Nigeria. The guy is at a loss as to where the 90 million people are hiding in the Northern part of Nigeria. He cannot understand the mystery. Neither do I. It is this kind of unresolved mystery and fraud that has continued to fuel the agitation of progressive folk for a total overhaul and restructuring of Nigeria. We cannot continue in these lies without resolving them. It is offensive and annoying for one to continue to throw a false and unfounded population figure at my face. A figure that does not show at all in the bottom line. A figure that adds no much value to the common wealth. The day we start measuring population or the sharing formula for income into the federation accounts based on the number of documented /registered taxpayers and enrolment from each LGA and state in Nigeria, or other objective indices, that is the day we shall get the true and factual population and demographic of Nigeria. But for now, let’s all continue to fool around. Enough is Enough. Let us restructure Nigeria now or burst this fraud! In 2000, the Nigerian government began a new revenue sharing formula that returned 13% of all onshore oil revenues to the oil producing states. In practical terms, whatever link remained between population and revenue allocation was effectively broken by this new 13% derivation principle. In other words, there was no financial reason to manipulate the distribution of the census figures in 2006 in line with the 1991 numbers. This is best illustrated with the monthly Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) where the federal government and states gather to share oil revenues. The most recent report available on the statistics bureau website is for January 2018. According to the census figures, the most populous state in 2006 was Kano with 9.4 million people. In January it received a total of 6.6 billion naira ($18.4 million) after all deductions. Akwa Ibom state, a major oil producing state but with less than half the population of Kano at 3.9 million, received a total of 16.5 billion naira ($46 million). Of this amount, 12 billion naira was its share of the 13% derivation principle. In 2013, the former chairman of the NPC, Festus Odimegwu, managed to talk himself out of a job with a series of controversial comments. 24 out of the NPC’s 35 commissioners asked the president to fire him from his job as they had lost all confidence in him. Before then he had been queried by the presidency for giving newspaper interviews where he said there had never been a credible census in Nigeria, including the one in 2006, and that the 2016 one which he had been charged with conducting was doomed to fail. All of this was intolerable candor and president Jonathan eventually tired of his antics and fired him in October 2013. Nigeria does not seem like a country planning to hold a census this year. The country’s finances remain in poor shape and the leadership is currently consumed by politicking in advance of the 2019 general elections. But it will have to hold a census at some point and the question of whether people can lay down their weapons and allow a credible count to take place remains a pertinent one. There is no longer any financial reason for any state to lie about its numbers so the country has a unique opportunity to hold its first credible census in its history as an independent nation. The reasons for having credible population numbers are too obvious to restate: Nigeria has essentially been making policy blind since its independence. The shenanigans around the census in Nigeria cuts through to the heart of much that continues to ail the country. What began in 1962 as jostling for advantage by politicians in a newly independent country became reinforced when resource rents upped the stakes. As with such things, even when it starts with falsifying census figures, it never ends there. Recently, the head of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) – the body tasked with deciding Nigeria’s revenue sharing formula—complained that states and local governments were concocting figures to boost their share of revenues. It is hard to tell what other data is being manipulated. Nigerians do not trust official figures and neither do officials trust their own figures. The agriculture ministry recently put out a tweet where it quoted a data aggregation website, Index Mundi, as proof rice production had gone up in Nigeria. The irony of the country’s agriculture ministry being unable to produce its own data on a supposed achievement and having to rely on data from a foreign website was not lost on many people. Each time there is a terror attack or kidnapping in Nigeria, one guaranteed outcome is that the figures for the number of casualties or victims will vary from newspaper to newspaper and official government sources. It helps to explain an ironic phenomenon—everyone in Nigeria—including the government, appeals to outside authority for authentic data about the country. And that is the saddest part of it all. The Daura Emirate has found Rotimi Amaechi, the Honourable Minister of Transportation, worthy of honour. Barring last minute change of plans, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouq Umar, will confer the traditional title of “Dan Amanar Daura” on the Minister, at his palace. Already invitation cards have been sent out to guests who are expected to attend the function while the Emirate council is putting finishing touches to preparations for the event. The Emir has declared in different fora that under the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, Daura has seen monumental infrastructural developments. One of which is the university of transport, which the minister was instrumental in the choice of its location. The title “Dan Amana” could be literally translated as a trustee or a trustworthy person, perhaps considering his relationship with the President. Amaechi, who was first elected minister in 2015 and reappointed in 2019, is a strong ally of the president. He was the Director-General of Buhari’s presidential campaign in 2015, a position he retained when Buhari sought reelection four years later. -Tijani Ibrahim Daily Trust.

Court Declares Invasion Of Kanu’s House, Arrest Illegal Orders Fed govt to pay him N1.b, as Abuja Court adjourns case to Fed 16 As residents of the South East observe three 3-day sit at home ordered by the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a High Court sitting in Umuahia, the Abia State capital presided over by Justice Benson Anya has ruled that the invasion of the residence of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in 2017 by security agents as well as his arrest/abduction and forceful return to Nigeria were unlawful and infringement on his human rights under local and international laws. on Wednesday January 19, the judge ruled that the federal government should pay Kanu the sum of one billion naira as compensation for the infringement and violation of his fundamental human rights. It would be recalled that, “Kanu’s Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor filed the lawsuit against the Nigerian government on August 27, 2021 before the Abia High Court. It was earlier reported that the judge rejected the challenge by the Nigerian government on the jurisdiction to hear Kanu’s case. Ejimakor had argued that Kanu could not be tried in Nigeria as there was no crime he had committed known to both Nigerian and international laws. He had added that the government of Nigeria collaborated with Kenya to abduct and bring him to Nigeria.” “The invasion of the Applicants residence at Isiama Afara Ibeku is in the public and the court has taken judicial notice, there are conflicts between the Applicant’s affidavit and that of the respondents. “Ordinarily the law requires oral evidence to be called to resolve the conflicts but where the evidence is so overwhelming, the court can base on the documents before it is resolve the conflicts. There is heavy evidence accompanying the affidavit of the Applicant which the respondents do not have any tangible refutation to. “This honorable court therefore holds that the violent infraction of the Applicant’s residence on the 10th day of September 2017 is an infraction of his fundamental rights. He deserves the apology as prayed. The law is that damages flows from the wrongs suffered in a fundamental rights action. Having in mind the low value of the Naira, I hereby award damage in the sum of 1 Billion Naira in Favour Of the Applicant.” At an Abuja High Court presided over by Justice Binta Nyako, Kanu, who was brought into the courtroom around 10:15am, said he was innocent of all the allegations the Federal levelled against him, even as he complained from the dock that some counts in the amended charge were similar. Meanwhile, immediately the embattled IPOB leader finished taking his plea, the Prosecution counsel, Mr. Shuaibu Labaran, told the court that he was ready to proceed with the trial, adding that he brought two witnesses to testify against the Defendant. “We also have a motion requesting the court to grant bail to the Defendant”, Ozekhome added. On his part, FG’s lawyer, Labaran, argued that Kanu’s two applications were not ripe for hearing, stressing that he would require time to go through them so as to be able to respond.” “In essence, business of the day cannot be allowed to be truncated by these applications”, he argued. In a brief ruling, Justice Nyako noted that since Kanu’s first application is challenging the propriety of his trial as well as competence of the charge against him, the court ought to hear it first.” “As for the second motion (on the issue of bail), I don’t even want to talk about it, at least not at this stage”, Justice Nyako held. The court subsequently adjourned till February 16 to hear the pending application.”

DitariDisciple2:There was bight of Biafra ,before Nigeria Before ,the Fulani seperated, Ndigbo from there sister communities, by the invaders ,from Futadjalon for there own ,economic interest, they have built a refinery in Kaduna, none in Igboland;they are planning to build another in Maradi, none in Igboland; Ndigbo believe in "Onye ahala nwaneya policy" Let us brake away from the Futadjalon enemies first, then we all can decide whatever we want; The gulf of Biafra have the richest deposit of mineral resources, not only crude oil -If you think that Ndigbo want yall ,because of your crude oil ,or water ways;Ndigbo have water ways (River Niger ,easily dredged to the sea;Imo and Abia have crude oil),and Igboland land have multiple mineral resources that are not crude oil. Firstly, let us properly define Igbo land. It covers the entire Southeast “zone” as well as parts of Rivers(Ikwerre, Ekpeye, Ogba and Etche) ; Delta (Anioma); Akwa-Ibom(Ohaobu-Ndoki village), Benue( Ezza, Izzi, Ezzamgbo and perhaps Ulayi); Edo(Anioma related groups); Cross River (Isobo and Izii groups of Obubra) and Bayelsa( Osekwenike-Onyah axis). There are indigenous Igbo people in 11 states of Nigeria. I was tempted toB write this because since the agitation of Biafra went on overdrive, those opposed to the idea often remind the agitators that Igbo land does not have resources and will be unviable. Firstly, the idea of Biafra is not an Igbo one but somehow, the peculiar nature of Nigeria tends to project it in that direction. And secondly, even if we assume that Biafra is only Igbo land (which it was not), there are rich mineral resources within its boundaries which will put any assumption of an unviable Igbo state as unfounded. The issue is that we have failed even as Igbos to exploit these resources to propel the economic development of Igbo land and keep and grow capital in the area. The growing profile of INNOSON comes to mind. Some of the raw materials which are used by the automobile industry are found in abundance in Igbo land or other parts of the old Eastern region. But I am pretty sure that the company “imports” its raw materials from other parts of Nigeria or even beyond the shores of the country. Developing these resources will create employment, and foster economic growth and development of Igbo land. Igbo land occupies an area of approximately 42,000 km2 of area or about 4.5 per cent of the total land area of Nigeria (about 930,000 km2). I am not an expert on geology but this write-up is to reassure ourselves that the territory occupied by Igbos is not as “dry” as claimed by some people. The bulk of the mineral resources of Igbo land is concentrated in the geological area called the “Lower Benue Trough” which extends to parts of Cross River and Akwa-Ibom States. This geological zone is one of the most mineral-rich in Nigeria.

A High Court in Umuahia, Abia State, on Wednesday ordered the Nigeria Government to pay the sum of N1 billion to Nnamdi Kanu, for violating the rights of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Judge Benson Anya described the invasion of Kanu’s Afaraukwu residence as notorious and brazen. He also ordered the Nigerian Government to issue a public apology to the IPOB leader in three national dailies and advised that a political resolution be adopted in resolving Kanu’s case. Kanu in a suit filed through his counsel, Aloy Ejimakorm accused the government and Abubakar Malami, Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) of allegedly violating his fundamental human rights. DSS director-general was also joint in the suit. Other respondents include the Federal Government of Nigeria (first), chief of army staff (third), inspector-general of police (fifth), and three others. Kanu also asked the court to compel the government, Malami and DSS to pay him N5 billion in damages as monetary compensation for the “physical, mental, emotional, psychological and other damages” suffered as a result of the alleged infringement on his fundamental rights.” He also sought damages for the invasion of his father’s house on September 10, 2017, by the military.

NEWSBREAKING: Nnamdi Kanu floors Buhari govt in court. Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Wednesday defeated the Nigerian government at the Abia State High Court. SEARCH Daily Post Nigeria Daily Post Nigeria NEWSBREAKING: Nnamdi Kanu floors Buhari govt in courtPublished on January 19, 2022By Seun Opejobi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Wednesday defeated the Nigerian government at the Abia State High Court. Justice Ben Anya of the High Court sitting in Abia State, rejected the Nigerian government’s challenge of its jurisdiction to hear Kanu’s fundamental rights suit. Kanu, through his special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, had initiated the fundamental human rights suit against the Nigerian government. In the suit, Ejimakor had urged the court to declare the invasion of the residence of the IPOB leader in Abia State in 2017 as unlawful and an infringement of his constitutional right. He urged the court to declare his rearrest and torture in Kenya last year as unlawful. The suit, which Ejimakor filed in August, further sought the court to stop the Nigerian government from prosecuting Kanu, mandating it to release the IPOB leader and tender an apology to Kanu, among others. But, during today’s proceedings, the Nigerian government challenged the jurisdiction of the court to hear the suit. This was disclosed by Ejimakor in a tweet. “Breaking: MNK wins as Abia High Court rejects Nigerian government’s challenge to its jurisdiction to hear Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s fundamental rights suit. Judgment on other issues still in progress,” Ejimakor wrote. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLytXEXFMG0

Alexis11:The hatred the Igbo people have for Buhari is the reason why I love the Igbo people so much. Igbo people have always been right in their predictions about Nigeria. In my opinion, They're the only tribe who cares for the wellbeing of others. When southern Kaduna people were getting killed, the Igbo people spoke out. When Edo villages were invaded by herdsmen, the Igbo spoke out. When Benue was burning, the Igbo people spoke out. Every other tribe in Nigeria stays quiet. It's only the Igbo people speaking out for the innocent, voiceless people of Nigeria. As human beings, we often choose to be cowardly to avoid being the next victims. It's understandable. However, don't always assume staying quiet will keep you safe. The northerners stayed quiet when the Christians of southern Kaduna were being killed, but look now, Buhari has turned his back on his northern compatriates. It is now the northern Muslims who are the victims. You see how Karma works?? Never assume that you will never be a victim. Being a coward doesn't guarantee your safety. Those who think Igbo leaders made a mistake and thereby committed political harakiri by openly endorsing the Atiku/Obi ticket do not probably know the Igbo and how they play their politics. The Igbo man does not necessarily need the presidency as long as the president, whether from Katsina or Sokoto, whether a Christian or a Muslim etc, provides a level playing field and an enabling environment for him to thrive in his endeavours be it business, academics, entrepreneurship etc. The Igbo easily connects with Atiku who, like people of the southeast, is not only a job creator but also a creator of wealth. His choice as an alternative to Buhari easily excites the southeast because they see in him a man who has managed businesses and co-managed the country at a time of one of the nation’s greatest periods of prosperity. It is Buhari, and not Ndigbo, who should be asked why people of the southeast supported the Obasanjo/Atiku ticket, the Yaradua/Jonathan ticket and the Jonathan/Sambo ticket, all of them non-Igbos, including Hausa/Fulani, but have bluntly refused to support him? Finally, Nigerians of goodwill cannot continue to endure the flawed structure of the country which has formed a major reason the country is in continued shambles, hence, the natural choice to support the Pro-restructuring ticket of Atiku/Obi. Apart from the above, the millions of job losses, skyrocketing food prices, flagrant disobedience of court orders, one-sided fight against corruption, official tyranny, financial scandals of monumental proportions rocking key elements of the presidency, etc, are some of those factors that make Igbo leaders settle for the Atiku/Obi ticket. It will also be wrong to ascribe Igbo support for Atiku to his choice of Peter Obi as his running mate. As earlier said, the Igbo have always supported tickets they think will be of benefit not only to them but also to the entire country even when these tickets had no Igbo man on them. The plethora of socio-economic and political crises bedeviling the nation under Buhari are too numerous for him or any other person or group to think that Ndigbo would just pass him off as good enough to go for the presidency a second time simply because he is Buhari. As some of the most critical analysts in the country who have shown indisputable commitment to the country by living, settling down and investing enormously throughout the country, no one or region can claim to love the country more than the Igbos. When they refused to vote for Buhari at the 2015 elections, it was because they already envisaged he would throw the nation into the kind of situation it is in today, and not because of his tribe or religion. Today, even those who vilified the Igbo as usual for “putting all their eggs in one basket” are even the worst hit by the shambolic economic policies of the current administration. The endoresemnet of the Atiku/Obi ticket is an endorsement for freedom, peace, prosperity and justice without which no nation can make progrees. Ndigbo will rather support a ticket that will promote the interest of Nigerians than the one that has led us to become the poverty capital of the world so that even if Buhari wins Ndigbo have not lost a thing! |
