President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Mohammed Bello Koko as the substantive Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
The Federal Ministry of Transportation disclosed this in a circular on Tuesday, which was signed by its Director, Press and Public Relations, Eric Ojiekwe.
Prior to this appointment, Koko was the executive director, finance & administration of NPA,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, the Pandora Papers in 2021 revealed that Bello Koko was behind two shell companies incorporated in a tax haven to anonymously invest in the United Kingdom property market.
This potentially violates Nigeria’s public service code of conduct laws.
Pandora Papers also disclosed that he and his wife, Agatha Anne Koko, enlisted the services of financial secrecy seller, Cook Worldwide and Alemán, Cordero, Galindo & Lee (Alcogal), an offshore law firm, to register Coulwood Limited (reg. number: 1487897) and Marney Limited (reg. number: 1487944) in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), one of the world’s most commonly used tax havens, in 2008. Both companies were registered the same day, June 19, 2008.
Though a public servant, Bello Koko is also a director of the two companies, in violation of Nigeria’s Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act (Sections 5 and 6).

Commuters Stranded In Nigeria's Capital City, Abuja As Fuel Scarcity Bites Harder, 10 Litres Now Sell For N8,000
The situation which has grown from bad to worse has forced motorists to increase transport fares in Abuja and its environs.

Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were on Tuesday left stranded at the various bus stops as fuel scarcity worsened in Nigeria's capital city, Abuja.
Transport fares have now gone up by 100% or more, thereby making mobility difficult for the residents to and from work.

A large number of workers who could not afford the transport fares were sighted at the Federal Secretariat, the hub of civil service, standing for hours following the shortage of commercial vehicles.

Checks within the city centre showed that only a few filling stations were selling the product, but with long queues, while many shut their gates.

Meanwhile, black marketers have capitalised on the shortage of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, to make brisk business by selling 10 litres for N8,000, an increase of about 500 per cent.

The situation has led to traffic gridlock within the city as major roads were blocked as a result of endless queues at fuel stations.

However, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) and some oil companies have continued to trade blames over who is responsible for the importation of adulterated fuel instead of solving the problem.

This is coming days after the APC National Leader was seen in a viral video with suspected pee stains on his cloth during a visit to a monarch in Ogun State, the Awujale of Ijebuland.
Tinubu, who was seated on a black leather couch alongside some other party stalwarts had risen to give a speech but his attire had soaked from behind, particularly at the butt area.
The politician's security aide was seen constantly holding his nose while looking at the wet area as another woman immediately wore her face mask as the Asiwaju rose up to speak.This has piqued the interest of many Nigerians who insisted the wetness of the attire at the spot was urine. Others, however, argued that it might be sweat resulting from the long period of sitting on a leather couch.
In a 45-second video, Aregbesola narrated how Tinubu promised that Gboyega Oyetola would be a loyal successor, only for this not to turn out to be the case.
“That was what the person (Tinubu) who brought him (Oyetola) to me told me. As I’m saying now, it will be hurting him that he said so. Has he done so?” Aregbesola added before a cheering crowd at the rally.
Then, a faint voice from the crowd jeered: “Won ti n to ara.”
“Won ti n to ara,” Aregbesola also chimed. Then the compere at the event re-echoed Aregbesola’s “Won ti n to ara.”
SaharaReporters had reported that Tinubu, amidst his ambition for the 2023 presidential race to succeed Muhammadu Buhari, spent over four months patronising hospitals in France, the United States and the United Kingdom where he underwent several surgeries.
He was flown out of the country some days to Christmas in 2020 to Paris, France.
The APC leader returned to Nigeria on January 24, 2021, after a month absence from Nigeria.
He also went for a medical check-up on Thursday, June 10 to France and was conspicuously absent from the one-day working visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Lagos State.
Tinubu, amidst death rumours, was forced to return to the country on Tuesday, June 15.
SaharaReporters also reported that Tinubu was hospitalised in Maryland, the United States in July 2021.
On August 9, the APC leader had another knee surgery at the John Hopkins University Hospital in Maryland, the United States.
The APC chieftain, it was learnt, left the US for the United Kingdom on crutches, a few days after the surgery.
Sources close to Tinubu had told SaharaReporters that he wanted the surgery in Paris, France but changed his plan over rumours of his death.
In August, President Muhammadu Buhari paid a visit to Tinubu in London and the latter was seen with a walking stick during Buhari’s visit, confirming SaharaReporters’ story that he underwent a second surgery in the United States.

With the 1999 Constitution, and all things being equal, regardless of who becomes president in 2023, Nigeria will remain a killing field, a stunted country, a country of cowards and crooks, of parasites and paupers, and an ungovernable country with endangered people.
Elections are the central institution of democratic governments. This is so because the authority of the government is derived solely from the consent of the people. The practical way of legitimising that consent into governmental authority is the holding of free and fair elections.
All democracies hold elections. But not all elections are democratic. Most elections held in Nigeria are not different from dictatorships and single-party governments that stage elections to give their rule the aura of legitimacy. The constitution is a supreme law that is binding even on the government. A constitution organises and constrains power. A constitution defines a state and the rights of its citizens. In a true democracy, the constitution ensures that the people ultimately control the government. The 1999 Constitution is none of the above.
The 2023 elections will be held based on the forged, fraudulent, and frivolous 1999 Constitution. Due to its illegality, Nigerians have clearly and loudly said no elections should be held. They reasoned that with the current state of the state characterised by inequality, nepotism, lopsided federal government, violence, killings, unrest, corruption, poverty, and other associated evils, a referendum is what we need in 2023 and not elections.
What’s wrong with holding a referendum to determine and decide why and who should stay together? What’s wrong with coming together to discuss the terms on how to live together? What’s wrong with voting in a referendum whether Yorubas want Yoruba Nation or Igbo people should get the Biafra Republic? What’s wrong for different ethnic groups to determine their own political status, to freely pursue their economic, social, and cultural development? What’s wrong to have the right to determine our own destiny?
The referendum will solve the age-long rivalry and acrimonious rancour among Nigeria’s different nationalities by having the option of going their separate ways - for good! I believe northerners will be the greatest beneficiary from a referendum. For example, a referendum that leads to separation will make it possible for Fulani herdsmen to rear their cows unmolested and unrestricted from Kano to Kaduna. The northerners will be able to make the north an Islamic Emirate. They will be governed by Sharia law. They won’t have to contend with Yorubas clamouring for progress, civilisation. Yorubas won’t be able to dilute or pollute northerners’ brand of Islam. They will be free from the liquor stores and beer parlours operated by the Yorubas. Of course, they won’t have to fight over western civilisation. They will have no trouble accommodating Boko Haram terrorists and other northern extremist groups like Miyetti Allah. And much more!
With the 1999 Constitution, and all things being equal, regardless of who becomes president in 2023, Nigeria will remain a killing field, a stunted country, a country of cowards and crooks, of parasites and paupers, and an ungovernable country with endangered people.

So, Northerners revenged on a military coup carried out by soldiers from different ethnic groups by killing 60,000 Igbos in a pogrom?

You mean, members of the military killed some northern politicans and military leaders, then in relaliation, Northern Nigeria felt it was right to wipe out 60,000 non-political, non-military Igbo people, despite killing Aguiyi Ironsi and other Igbo military and political leaders in the North? And you felt this is right?

Nigeria can never be one country. You already know this. If you like, flog your head from Ogbomosho to Cairo. I don't have anything in common with an Hausa or Yoruba man.

You people can lie and kill more than Boko Haram. We don't want you. I want my own separate Igbo country. You can continue killing yourselves with your lies and rituals in your Nigeria.
