Biafran Declaration of Independence The Biafran Declaration of Independence [The following is taken from C. Odumegwu Ojukwu, Biafra Selected Speeches and Random Thoughts of C. Odumegwu Ojukwu (NY: Harper & Row, 1969), 191-196] Resolution passed on May 27, 1967. WE, THE Chiefs, Elders, and Representatives of Eastern Nigeria, gathered at this Joint Meeting of the Advisory Committee of Chiefs and Elders and the Consultative Assembly, do solemnly declare as follows: WHEREAS we have been in the vanguard of the national movement for the building of a strong, united, and prosperous Nigeria where no man will be oppressed and have devoted our efforts, talents, and resources to this end; WHEREAS we cherish certain inalienable human rights and state obligations such as the right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness; the right to acquire, possess, and defend property; the provision of security; and the establishment of good and just government based on the consent of the governed; WHEREAS in practical demonstration of these beliefs, our people settled in other parts of Nigeria, served their country in many capacities, and contributed immensely to the growth and development of Nigeria; WHEREAS WE ARE LIVING WITNESSES OF INJUSTICES AND ATROCITIES COMMITTED against Eastern Nigeria, among which are the premeditated murder of over 30,000 of our innocent men, women, and children by Northern Nigerians, the calculated destruction of the property of our sons and daughters, the shameless conversion of 2,000,000 Eastern Nigerians into refugees in their own country, all this without remorse; WHEREAS in consequence of these and other acts of discrimination and injustice, we have painfully realized that the Federation of Nigeria has failed, and has given us no protection; WHEREAS in spite of these facts, the government and people of Eastern Nigeria have persisted in their efforts to find a practical and just solution that would preserve the continued existence of Nigeria as one corporate unit and restore peace and confidence as demonstrated by the initiative of our military governor in getting all the military leaders together at Aburi, Ghana; WHEREAS the hopes which the Aburi Agreement engendered have proved to be misplaced and have been destroyed by a series of acts of bad faith and distortions and finally by a refusal on the part of the "Lagos Government" to implement these and other agreements notwithstanding the fact that they were freely and voluntarily entered into; WHEREAS the Federation of Nigeria has forfeited any claim to our allegiance by these acts and by the economic, political, and diplomatic sanctions imposed against us by the so-called Federal Government; AND WHEREAS the object of government is the good of the governed and the will of the people its ultimate sanction; NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these and other facts and injustices, we, the Chiefs, Elders, and Representatives of all the twenty provinces of Eastern Nigeria, assembled in this Joint Meeting of the Advisory Committee of Chiefs and Elders and the Consultative Assembly, at Enugu this 27th day of May, 1967, hereby solemnly: MANDATE His Excellency Lieutenant Colonel Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Military Governor of Eastern Nigeria, to declare at the earliest practicable date Eastern Nigeria a free, sovereign, and independent state by the name and title of the REPUBLIC OF BIAFRA. RESOLVE that the new REPUBLIC OF BIAFRA shall have the full and absolute powers of a sovereign state, and shall establish commerce, levy war, conclude peace, enter into diplomatic relations, and carry out, as of right, other sovereign responsibilities. DIRECT that the REPUBLIC OF BIAFRA may enter into arrangement with any sovereign unit or units in what remains of Nigeria or in any part of Africa desirous of association with us for the purpose of running a common services organization and for the establishment of economic ties. RECOMMEND that the REPUBLIC OF BIAFRA should become a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, the Organization of African Unity, and the United Nations Organization. RECOMMEND the adoption of a federal constitution based on the new provincial units. REAFFIRM His Excellency's assurance of protection for the persons, properties, and businesses of foreign nationals in our territory. DECLARE our unqualified confidence in the Military Governor of Eastern Nigeria, Lieutenant Colonel Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, and assure him of our unreserved support for the way and manner he has handled the crisis in the country. So help us God. THE DECLARATION [Made by Col. Ojukwu] Fellow countrymen and women, YOU, the people of Eastern Nigeria: CONSCIOUS of the supreme authority of Almighty God over all mankind, of your duty to yourselves and posterity; AWARE that you can no longer be protected in your lives and in your property by any government based outside Eastern Nigeria; BELIEVING that you are born free and have certain inalienable rights which can best be preserved by yourselves; UNWILLING to be unfree partners in any association of a political or economic nature; REJECTING the authority of any person or persons other than the Military Government of Eastern Nigeria to make any imposition of whatever kind or nature upon you; DETERMINED to dissolve all political and other ties between you and the former Federal Republic of Nigeria; PREPARED to enter into such association, treaty or alliance with any sovereign state within the former Federal Republic of Nigeria and elsewhere on such terms and conditions as best to subserve your common good; AFFIRMING your trust and confidence in ME; HAVING mandated ME to proclaim on your behalf, and in your name, that Eastern Nigeria be a sovereign independent Republic, NOW THEREFORE I, LIEUTENANT COLONEL CHUKWUEMEKA ODUMEGWU OJUKWU, MILITARY GOVERNOR OF EASTERN NIGERIA, BY VIRTUE OF THE AUTHORITY, AND PURSUANT TO THE PRINCIPLES, RECITED ABOVE, DO HEREBY SOLEMNLY PROCLAIM THAT THE TERRITORY AND REGION KNOWN AS AND CALLED EASTERN NIGERIA TOGETHER WITH HER CONTINENTAL SHELF AND TERRITORIAL WATERS SHALL HENCEFORTH BE AN INDEPENDENT SOVEREIGN STATE OF THE NAME AND TITLE OF "THE REPUBLIC OF BIAFRA." AND I DO DECLARE THAT: (i) all political ties between us and the Federal Republic of Nigeria are hereby totally dissolved; (ii) all subsisting contractual obligations entered into by the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria or by any person, authority, organization, or government acting on its behalf, with any person, authority, or organization, or relating to any matter or thing, within the Republic of Biafra, shall henceforth be deemed to be entered into with the Military Governor of the Republic of Biafra for and on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Biafra, and the covenants thereof shall, subject to this Declaration, be performed by the parties according to their tenor; (v) steps will be taken to open discussions on the question of Eastern Nigeria's due share of the assets of the Federation of Nigeria and personal properties of the citizens of Biafra throughout the Federation of Nigeria; (vii) we shall keep the door open for association with, and would welcome, any sovereign unit or units in the former Federation of Nigeria or in any other parts of Africa desirous of association with us for the purposes of running a common services organization and for the establishment of economic ties; (x) it is our intention to remain a member of the British Commonwealth of Nations in our right as a sovereign independent nation. LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC OF BIAFRA! AND MAY GOD PROTECT ALL WHO LIVE IN HER. Remember Ojukwu never took the war to Nigerian;but Nigerians came to Biafra land ;to commit a genocide.

Yoruba Born Activist Mr. Maiyegun wrote: Biafrans voted in a Referendum to leave Nigeria on 26th May, 1967. Four days later, the administrator of Eastern Region at the time, Ojukwu declared Biafra independence; Gowon the honcho head of the northern military government moved the tanks into the Eastern Nigeria after all resolutions to get Biafrans back to Nigeria failed - 5million killed. How many of you knew there was actually a Referendum for Biafra in 1967 and nearly 100% of the people voted to leave? They didn't want them to leave because of the Niger Delta crude oil. Well, it was due to the killings of Igbos in Kano and North after the 1966 Gowon coup that things finally broke down. The Igbos returned to the east for safety and then a year later, voted en mass to leave Nigeria, like reasonable people should, the anima** Gowon moved the tanks and killed 5million in 3 years, including women and children Awolowo was Nigeria's finance minister, Obasanjo was there and that coward Murtala that killed unarmed men in Asaba and children when Nigerian army he led called people to come out of their hiding, that the war was over and when the civilians came out, men were separated and executed right there - their women raped and killed too. These guys didn't remove history from Nigerians schools for no reason, they are criminals and history will never be kind to them. Maiyegun General https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C19AzuVkb3k

asanausana91:Dangote has built his wealth from two sources of power in Nigeria: the control of the Federal Government by his ethnic Fulani and control of the foreign exchange “allocations” by the same Federal Government through control of the Central Bank. To take further advantage of both, he deploys these powers to kill every competition, force the enactment of self-serving Government policies and laws and create new ones where there are none. The Fulani themselves are enthralled by the fact of the richest man in Africa being Fulani and will deploy all powers of the Federal Government to protect him and his businesses. When the Southern borders were closed for example, Government specifically issued an exception to Dangote trucks. ![]() |
Fulani Monopoly, Greed And Underdevelopment Of Nigeria’s Economy There are two major cement producers in Nigeria, Dangote Cement, largely owned by Aliko Dangote and BUA Group owned by Abdul Samad Rabiu. Both of them are Fulani business moguls from Kano State one from the Isyaku Rabiu family and the other maternally related to the Dantata family. Cement assumes an oversized importance in Nigeria because two Northern oligarchs have seized it’s production and distribution. The Monopoly enjoyed by these two oligarchs mean that everyone is forced to pay outlandish prices not related to the true value of the products and not comparable to the lower prices paid for it in the rest of the world. All of us are forced to pay outrageous prices to sustain the myth of Dangote being the richest man in Africa. Yet no one has told us the benefit of having the richest man in Africa from Nigeria. So while Governments all over the world are enforcing and litigating antitrust laws to break monopolies, the Government of Nigeria is forcing a monopoly on the people in other to make Dangote the richest man in Africa. Dangote is not rich because of his business acumen or what he produces but because he is a favoured client allowed to poach the finances of the people and Government of Nigeria. No international rating agency rates him or his companies better than many others, either in management or entrepreneurial accomplishments. Dangote is rich because he remains a favoured patron of successive Nigerian Governments dominated by Fulani and as a payback, his businesses are highly leveraged, patronized and protected by Government. The man is not a business champion and is thus not the richest man in Africa for producing pasta and cement, even as all his products are overpriced. He twists the arms of the Federal Government to sustain a regime of high prices in the products where he enjoys monopolies like cement. He has made no innovations in anything and does not advance society with any new technology. Dangote has built his wealth from two sources of power in Nigeria: the control of the Federal Government by his ethnic Fulani and control of the foreign exchange “allocations” by the same Federal Government through control of the Central Bank. Aliko Dangote benefits as an entrenched member of the Fulani oligarchy since early in the eighties. He was groomed by the Dantata family in the late seventies at WAPA, Kano and early in his business career, was a protégé of the Dantata’s. He has therefore been lucratively located in the business flank of the oligarchy and never directly competes to hold political power. He was self effacing early on, offering no threat to politicians and so was ignored in the contests for political power in Nigeria. But Aliko Dangote, been a keen eyed businessman and knowing that his business success is tied inexorably to building the right political alliances, has immersed himself so deep in the power dynamics and has over the decades gathered enormous power and influence that no one can ignore him anymore in the political power calculations in Nigeria. The moniker of “businnessman” on Aliko Dangote is deceptive and deflective, removing him from direct responsibility for some of the more damaging policies and practices of Government originating from him, even as he is the main and direct beneficiary of such destructive policies. For instance, the Federal Government policy of import licensing by the Shagari and later Buhari Governments in the early eighties made Aliko Dangote the major importer of most basic commodities like salt, sugar, rice, cement etc. Import licenses were issued exclusively to him and fellow Northerners, many of whom were not business persons. These other beneficiaries promptly sold their licenses to Aliko Dangote. The then Minister of Commerce in the Government of General Buhari in 1984 Mahmoud Tukur was so bigoted that he would announce in his office that import licenses were meant for northerners to catch up with Southern businessmen. This skewed practice eventually made Dangote achieve an unheard of monopoly in the importation of major commodities in a rapidly expanding Nigerian consumer market. Everyone else in the business of importing commodities into Nigeria, particularly the Igbo were forced into smuggling as they could not be “qualified” for import license. Many fell prey to the draconian laws enacted by Buhari in 1984 like 200% import duty on vehicle imports. Goods ordered by Southern business men before the coming of the Buhari regime were seized at the ports because no one could pay the new import duties. These seized goods were promptly auctioned off unabashedly to northerners. A young Igbo friend whose containers were seized sold off everything else he owned and migrated to Brazil, cursing on his way that this country will never have peace and Justice. So many lost their goods and businesses and others suffered seizures and blockade of their imports. Aliko Dangote thereafter became the champion of Apapa and Tin Can island ports in Lagos. For many decades, Dangote held the exclusive authority to import sugar, salt, rice and many other commodities into the starving Nigerian market. It was foolhardy for any merchant ship with these imports to enter the Nigerian waters or to try to berth at the Nigerian ports. Many business men were destroyed by officialdom who tried to compete with Dangote in his chosen areas of business. Dangote himself does not believe that he is subject to or should obey laws that negatively affect his dominance. One popular example was Cletus Ibeto producer of Ibeto cement. Ibeto was forced out of the cement business by Aliko Dangote who quoted policies and laws not known by anybody else and it was only the later kindness and insistence of President Yar’adua that temporarily restored him. President Yar’adua died and Ibeto cement had to flee. Since we are a nation ruled by men, not by laws, Aliko Dangote has thrived in Nigeria by making himself an exception to every law and every rule. He lives and does his business above every financial and monetary regulation imposed by any Government in Nigeria. Aliko DANGOTE does not believe in business competition and thrives by using the Federal Government power and policies to destroy every possible competitor. He has always been supported by northern controlled Governments in this effort. Dangote has thrived not through holding any patent on scientific discoveries or creating new products, not through creating or improving processes, not through new or improved technologies but through protected trading environment created and sustained for his ascendancy. Another area of bitterness by other businesses is Dangote’s overwhelming dominance and control of the foreign exchange market. There are strong rumours and loud whispers of Dangote’s purchase of foreign currencies “Sub Rosa” and at below declared prices. Every businessman finds ways to beat the competition, sometimes deploying underhand ways but it remains the duty of the state to protect and preserve the competitive business environment. Competition inspires innovation, creativity and brings about lower costs and better products and services. Competition inspires progress for the economy and society. Dangote’s predatory business practices have been unrestrained and sometimes overwhelms Government itself. In the pursuit of creating and sustaining a northern business champion, Dangote has been allowed to take hold and dominate Nigeria while gas lighting competition. He has been allowed again and again to seize the Nigerian economic jugular without competition or countervailing protective policies. The agenda has been for the North to pull every stop to produce a northern business champion without the rigour of beating the competitive environment. Faced with international competition, the Dangote model will fall as it is not undergirded by the power of a winning idea, by the toughened knowledge and experience ofgoing through a competitive environment. Gold must pass through fire to win the love and admiration of men. Until he goes through the crucible, Aliko Dangote cannot be a champion of business in Nigeria or anywhere else. He is a creation of privilege, a caricature of progress and never the real deal. He has created nothing new or unique to the world. Put in a truly competitive environment, the Dangote bubble will burst. For now, he can sell his cement for any price he wants. Someday, Nigeria will find new ways of building houses without cement.

Nigeria has maintained the infamous position as the poverty capital of the world, with 93.9 people in Africa's most populous country currently living below the poverty line. Managing Director, Financial Derivatives Company (FDC) Limited and a member of President Muhammadu Buhari's Economic Advisory Council (EAC), According to the Global Terrorism Index of 2020, India is the eighth-most impacted countries in the world by terrorism in the last decede. Afghanistan tops the list followed by Iraq, Nigeria and Syria. The population fraud in Nigeria in Africa, our next door neighbour up north is Chad. The landmass of Chad is 1,280,000 sqkm. It is almost 100% an Islamic state with the same culture, religion, agrarian and animal husbandry profession and even ethnicity as our brothers in the Northern part of Nigeria. They marry many wives too, but with a population of 13 million people. Ndjamena, its capital city nearer the Chadian basin and rivers, has a population of 700,000. Our other neighbour, Niger Republic, with a landmass of 1,270,000 sqkm, that shares the same culture, language, ethnicity, agrarian and animal husbandry profession and a religious practice that allows polygamy like our brothers up north, has a population of 18 million people. Now, move over to Northern Nigeria, with a landmass of 614,000 sqkm. Which is a quarter of that of Saudi Arabia, half of those of Chad and Niger and with very much higher mortality rate than Saudi Arabia but ravaged by poverty and disease with one of the worst health care systems in the world. No access to any river, sea or body of water like Saudi Arabia, yet someone wants me to believe that they have 90 million human beings living there. Now, wait for the bigger contradiction: Benue and Plateau states, the richest and greenest belt within the North, do not have as great a population as their neighbours, who live in the arid desert. Haba! How? By what magic? If you query them, they will tell you that their religion allows them to marry many wives. So, how come your brothers in Chad who marry so many wives and who also live by the great Lake Chad are not as populated as you are? Festus Odimegwu was on the verge of unravelling this mystery and exposing this grand fraud foisted on us by the British, as the Chairman of the Nigerian Population Commission, before President Goodluck Jonathan sacked him. That was one of the unforgettable and unforgiving sins of Jonathan against the Nigerian state. Look around you, from Sudan to Mauritania to Somalia to Egypt to Morocco, practising Muslim countries in parts of Africa with the same polygamous religious culture, some even with access to the sea, far greater landmass and healthier and richer health conditions. Check out their populations. Igbo people of Nigeria were ranked as the most intelligent tribe of black Africa in a US academic report in 2015. Igbos in charge of Nigeria’s economy’ – Buhari el-Rufai: Igbos Own 73% of Abuja Land From Chuks Okocha in Abuja, 05.21.2007 The Minister in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Nasir el-Rufai over the weekend declared that Igbos have acquired about 73 percent of landed property in Abuja. The Minister, who was addressing a gathering of Southeast elected officials also revealed how the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ahmadu Ali abused him for demolishing his house in Asokoro District in Abuja. Speaking on a lighter mood, el-Rufai called on the Igbos to take Abuja as the sixth state of the southeast in view of their dominance of the real estate sector of the FCT. He pointed out that such dominance explains why the Igbos appear to have been the worst victims of the demolition exercise in the territory. For instance, he said “68 percent of the land allocations in the FCT belongs to the 19 northern states, but in actual land ownership, 73 percent belongs to the Igbos with the most aggressive in land ownership belonging to the indigenes of Anambra state, while Ebonyi lags behind.” He also spoke of how the master plan of the Wuse market was distorted from 1800 lockup stores to a near aberration of 13,500 stores, which made movement in the market to become almost impossible. He attributed the land ownership by the Igbos in Abuja to a measure of confidence that they have in the FCT project. -former President Olusegun Obasanjo said Nigerians should be thanking God for the Igbo because they are the reason the country has not been Islamised. “Yoruba, Ijaw, and other Nigerians should be thanking God for the Igbos, they are the reason Nigeria hasn’t been Islamised yet.Obj The Igbo Are The Engine Of The Vehicle Called Nigeria – Reno Omokri The larger than life electoral malpractices that greeted the recent elections in Nigeria made headlines and shocked the nation. What, however, did not make as much headlines is the shocking internal xenophobia that came with these elections. The treatment meted out to people of Igbo origin, especially in Lagos, is even worse than the rigging perpetrated by Muhammadu Buhari and his goons. The ethnic hatred unleashed in Lagos probably set back inter-tribal relationships by about a decade. Thugs were unleashed on Igbo dominated strongholds in Lagos and voters were beaten and prevented from voting. All these were captured on camera, yet sadly, maltreatment that persons of Igbo heritage received in Lagos has predictably gone unnoticed by the Federal Government. Even worse, the public comments of people in authority, both in Lagos and Abuja, appears to legitimize these unconscionable actions. The behaviour of the Federal and Lagos state government in this matter almost seems as if it is now official government policy that Igbos are second class citizens. How sad indeed. I personally do not believe that the Nigerian and Lagos state governments fully understand what Igbos bring to the table. Igbos are like palm trees in the desert. If you see palm trees, you know water is there. If you see an Igbo in a town, you know progress is there. Not as if they go where progress is. They themselves are seed of progress that yield harvests of progress. To have a proper understanding of what the Igbo have achieved, consider that every Igbo man, woman and child in Nigeria was reduced to £20 after the civil war in 1970. But look at how far they have come since then. They turned adversity to prosperity. No ethnic group are as Nigerian as the Igbo. An Igbo builds his family, his house and his businesses in whatever part of Nigeria he finds himself. They do not exploit other regions. They expand other regions. It is a disservice to treat them as unwanted. Instead of making Igbos feel unwelcome, leaders should welcome them. Anyone who thinks the Igbo really want to break away does not understand economics. In 2003, Elrufai revealed Igbos own 73% of land in Abuja. Google it. That is commitment to Nigeria. This idea that Igbo come to exploit other regions is unscientific. Igbos create value. They do not take value already created. Example, by opening shops, Igbos create value by meeting a need. Without Igbo, the price of spare-parts in the North will be x4. It might shock you to know there are more Igbo doctors practicing in other parts of Nigeria than in the SE. Thousands of Igbos are battling Boko Haram in the NE. These are critical values. People who bring such value should be celebrated, not denigrated. In my opinion, Nigeria made a mistake dismantling Biafra’s military industrial complex after Biafra’s 1970 defeat. The allies defeated Germany in 1945 but absorbed their scientists into their military industrial complex. Biafra developed technology that Nigeria could have exploited. We have issues fighting Boko Haram because we depend on others for weapons. Biafra was surrounded, yet they made their weapons and refined fuel. Nigeria is not surrounded, yet we cannot make weapons or refine fuel! We could have been making our own weapons by now. While I was writing this, I received news that Sergeant Blessing Onyekwere, a Nigerian of Igbo origin, was killed by Boko Haram as he fought to keep Nigeria safe. Blessing and others like him are the reason why we should do away with the philosophy of Lagos for Yorubas and Kano for Hausas. I do not know if Igbos understand their power. If every Igbo man, woman and child living in Nigeria returns home for a year, the economies of five geopolitical zones may collapse. You cannot say this about any other ethnicity. Treat Igbos well. Not for their sake. But for your region’s sake. A liability consumes more than what he produces. The Igbos are not like that. Wherever they go, they produce more than they consume. In accounting terms, that makes them an ASSET wherever they are. And to the Igbos themselves, I give this counsel-stop returning to the SE to register to vote and be voted for. Register and contest wherever you are. That shows that your commitment is TOTAL. Contest where you are for Governor, LGA Chairman and NASS. If you as an Igbo keep returning to the SE to register to vote and be voted for, you agree with those who do not see you as part of the regions where you live. You have a constitutionally guaranteed right to vote and be voted for where you are resident. Igbos only think they are being marginalised. If only they knew! God is using the marginalisation of Igbos for His purpose. I met an Igbo mayor of a major American city. Many Igbo are mayors/MPs in Europe. An Igbo is being considered as a future British PM. Like Jews, the more you marginalise Igbos locally, the more they leave to thrive globally. It is the destiny of the Igbo race to restore the fortunes of the Black Race worldwide. Their crucifixion is meant to prepare them for their benediction. Reno Omokri. Igbos are the most intelligent black ethnic race in the world;yall can hate and remain in your fraudulent turbulent nation,we want out . Either yall restructure this mess ,or yall remain to be enslaved and impoverish by this greedy elites without a constitution rectified by OAO . A military decree which yall never agreed to that protects ,your greedy elite thieves, yall fighting here like;My thief is better than yours syndrome. This is enslavement;and yall have no citizenship right. |
Maduka vs Ramsdale: Why Super Eagles goalkeeper is likened to Arsenal goalkeeper by Dutch Journalist Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has signed for Watford due to his form in the Eredivisie. His raise in football is surprising, but the young goalkeeper has taken the chance given to him. After signing for Watford, Dutch Journalist Andy Michael reveals the reasons Watford took a gamble on him. According to him, the number of saves he made in the Eredivisie attracted the Hornets. According to besoccer.com, Maduka is the eleventh best goalkeeper in the Eredivisie and awarded the Player of the Year for Sparta Rotterdam in the 2020/2021 season. "He has been first choice for just 18 months, but he has made the highest amount of saves in the league. This season in a particular game - he made six saves in the first half alone. That's huge. "At 22, he is already the leader of his team. He is a natural, and his style is a bit awkward - it's his career edge. He has made as many saves as Ramsdale of Arsenal this season. Watford knew all of that and decided to gamble on him. Some of the games Okoye performed brilliantly include; Utrecht (2), PSV (3), Ado Den Haag (4), Feyenoord (2), and Ajax (2), while Aaron Ramsdale made four saves in the first half of Arsenal's 2-0 victory over Leicester City. Aside from their saves, Maduka Okoye and Aaron Ramsdale have some similarities, according to FIFA Ratings. According to the Ratings, the Nigerian goalkeeper has a rating of 71, while Ramsdale has 74. Maduka is rated to have a better potential than the Arsenal goalkeeper - he has a potential rating of 81 while Ramsdale has 79. Despite the difference in the average rating, both goalkeepers have the same qualities in their top rating. Maduka Okoye's highest ratings are his Reflexes (74), Diving (71), Pace (71), Handling the ball (68), and Positioning (69). Also, Ramsdale has those qualities in his top ratings. The Arsenal goalkeeper is rated highly in his Reflexes (76), Diving (75), Pace (75), Handling the ball (72), and Positioning (71). Nigeria vs Ghana- (Maduka all the way for me). What yall think? In a statement , she alleged that she had been receiving threats from members of Atiku’s camp, who are also seeking to seize her properties. She said, “I fear for my safety and that of my kids. His Excellency’s security operatives, especially Ibro and others, have made threats and called my relatives, friends and staff and searched for my assets to seize and monitor my phone calls and those of friends and relatives. “For that reason, I have exited my law firm and sold all my assets and moved abroad until peace reigns. I have done nothing wrong except to ask for a divorce and it pains me that I have to use this medium to address thorny issues but fear that at this point, I would have to put my side of the story on record. It is obvious that a campaign of calumny to total discredit and put me in bad light has begun.” By Ademola Olonilua Tue, 01 Feb 2022 21:44:16 GMT APC Nonsense PDP Senseless 9Jah people suffering and smiling Local man don tire

China No Longer Responding, We’re Pursuing Loans In Europe – Buhari’s Minister, Amaechi The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has blamed the delay in the execution of major projects in the country including railways, on the inability of China to fund them. The minister who lamented the delays said the Federal Government has started looking towards Europe to get loans, following the refusal of the Chinese to fund Nigerian projects. He expressed hope that if Nigeria could get loans from Europe, the existing projects will be completed. According to Amaechi, “We are stuck with lots of our projects because we cannot get money. The Chinese are no longer funding. So, we are now pursuing money in Europe. “And when I look at the money they are borrowing in other countries and compare it with the one we have borrowed, the kind of comments by Nigerians will put you off.” Amaechi said the Abuja-Itakpe railway is underway, which will link the existing Itakpe-Delta rail line. He said the link rail would have been completed but for a misunderstanding with the Chinese contractor. -Sahara Reporters.

Enough of politics of recklessness in Nigeria By Stephen Kekeghe It is disgraceful that nations across the globe only conceive governance in Nigeria as a perfect model of a despicable political system; as a prototype of what not to be! Humans, the world over, think of Nigerians with so much pity— a hapless people in a very rich nation subjected to self-destruction; a country dominated by desperate and irresponsible rulers, who have only rascality, megalomania and misappropriation to offer to over 200 million vulnerable, cowardly, sycophantic but expectant people. While the Nigerian political rulers manifest rapacity and inanities of different degrees, the masses maintain their position of hollowness, either as ill fated people dying and smiling, or as hypocrites who sing-praise their tormentors to fame, in expectation of crumbs that may fall from the table of affluence for their pick. How can a leader successfully dehumanize the same people s/he swore to serve and protect, without any organized reaction of resentment from the oppressed? Nigeria, indeed, is a traumatized country. No government anywhere in the world can successfully coerce her citizenry into total submission to despotic rules without the complicity of the youth body. Sadly, in the Nigerian political landscape, the vitality of the youths, whom President Buhari stereotyped as ‘lazy’, is only utilized in thuggish activities by the avaricious political godfathers. To these plutocrats, who recycle themselves within the political space, young Nigerians, except their children, are not fit for any leadership position. The most visible political engagement left for the youth is hooliganism and social media praise-hood. Since we have failed to recognize that the politician is elected to serve the people, not to lord it over them, the masses will continually lie under the trodden feet of their rulers, most of whom are low heads in high places! One gets very enraged thinking of how President Buhari’s government resents the same democratic principles that prepared the way for his emergence as a president of Africa’s most populous country in the 21st century. How this government animalizes decent, harmless protesters and exalts terrorists and bandits is what one finds very difficult to comprehend. Is it not distressing that herdsmen that slaughter our people and rape our women needed grazing reserve to stop killing? Is it not disturbing that the Boko Haram sects, after maiming thousands of innocent Nigerians, are to enjoy prestigious scholarship abroad under government’s expenses? These same people that have brought eternal anguish to families and the Nigerian psychosocial space are pampered by a government that dehumanizes decent and civil citizens. This is happening in a country where there is no definite plan for her educated youths, who have been coerced not to ask questions about their pathetic conditions. The dehumanization of unarmed protesters under the umbrellas of Nnamdi Kanu’s IPOB and Omoyele Sowore’s RevolutionNow are some distressing episodes in a government of grief and groans, which cows every Nigerian, for a thriving perpetration of its depravities. The Nigerian masses are highly vulnerable— they are oppressed and brutalized by the politicians, Boko Haram sects, herdsmen, police, army, armed robbers and kidnappers. The Nigerian masses are literally on their own! Political practice in Nigeria is distasteful; there is no decency and modesty— perhaps, one has to be significantly insane or mentally wrecked to fit into the big business of politicking. Nigerian democracy is simply a demonstration of crazy power seekers. When Plato declared that the ‘politician is goaded on to madness’ he might have perceived the psychotic manifestations in Nigerian politics, not the universal neurotic episodes that are triggered by ambition and obsession with power. We are in a country where we are entertained by the absurdist political theatre of Dino Melaye (a messianic misfit), the outlandish conducts of Rochas Okorocha (the lover of statues), who scored great marks on farcical theatrics by appointing his sister, Ogechi Ololo as Commissioner for Happiness and Couples’ Fulfillment. It is in this country that the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, appointed a Special Assistant on Unmarried Women Affairs. In all of these, there are young people with the vitality of rhetoric and physical strength to applaud them. This is the pathetic relationship between most Nigerian leaders and their followers, the blind leading people with active sight into a dungeon. In Nigeria, the commitment of the average politician is only witnessed in electioneering seasons. During pre-election campaigns, politicians manifest a strange vigor, dedication and humility. They would visit every single community in their constituency, hug the paupers, eat with the lame, shake hands with lepers etc. After the elections, siren and silence greet every promise made during campaigns and rallies. These are the chameleonic dispositions that define political practice in Nigeria. This is not about All Promises Cancelled (APC) or People Deceiving People (PDP); it is about a group of people with a common vision to magu and pondei our collective fortunes. When you have moralists like Buhari, whose jobless son, Yusuf, could drive a multimillion power-bike ($157, 000; approximately N56 million) in a country where hardworking youths are regarded as lazy; Magu, who chased thieves to mend his pale pocket, Professor Pondei, who believed that the overall essence of leadership is to leaders, not the led, then, we have nothing else to say: the country is doomed and in urgent need of redemption! Are you not repulsed that Godwin Obaseki is now in PDP and Osagie Ize-Iyamu is now in APC? This attests to the fact that in Nigeria, political parties have no ideologies; they are social descents for people who scheme to enrich themselves desperately. Adams Oshiomole is currently struggling to altar insults and praises; social media boys are battling to adjust to their masters’ madness as violence is unleashed on Edo State. Do you have to be irredeemably mad to gain political power and its privileges? Schools are on lockdown to contain a virus but politicians are ‘buying’ crowds in Edo State to demonstrate their ridiculous political egos. Are these people normal at all? Sadly, Nigerian jobless youths are busy in the social media landscape analyzing the potency of campaign crowds, of APC versus PDP. The Nigerian masses are taken for a ride. This is why President Buhari would boldly announce to Nigerians that he was going to the Republic of Mali to help resolve their political crises. He forgot about his wilting country. What could be more reckless than leaders unpretentiously looting the resources of a country? What justification has the FG that it expended ₦523.3 million on school feeding program during the lockdown against the coronavirus? The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development (MHADMSD), Sadiya Farouq, announced this condescendingly at the Presidential Taskforce on Monday 3 August in Abuja. How many household did they get to with their take home ration? Is this not insanity? It is this normalization of looting that would make NDDC moralists under IMC misappropriate ₦4.9 billion within three months and they had all the vocal energy to justify it. Believing that they were dealing with gullible people, the Acting Managing Director, Professor Pondei, resorted to mock-fainting. Social Media boys and girls were kept busy for that moment and then, there was silence! there was silence! How can a country with such reckless rulers make any significant progress? Nigeria is among the tenth countries with the world’s largest oil reserves but it cannot boost of a significant productive refinery. We continue to export crude and import fuel at exorbitant prices. If there is no enough money to meet up with their extravagant lifestyle, our politicians borrow and share among themselves. This is how they will literally sell the country to China. Though among the tenth producer of crude in the world, Nigeria is nowhere in the refining of crude. The twenty five largest refineries in the world are from Asia, North America, South America, Europe and Middle East. Thanks to Aliko Dangote, who is currently building one in Lagos. In Nigeria, as at 1953, oil was already discovered in Akata, near Eket and later in Oloibiri in 1956, which became operational in commercial quantity in 1958. From 1956 to 1966 oil and gas was discovered in different parts of Nigeria in commercial quantity. Do you know what? Oil was first discovered in Dubai in 1966 and became operational in 1969. Today, United Arab Emirate is the pride of the world while Nigeria is a laughing stock of the world! Universities are on lockdown because of a pandemic but the global space is shifting to digital strategies; not a single effort to encourage digitalization of the Nigerian educational system. Those who decide for Nigeria must be haters of education and lovers of trivialities. Political appointment is an empowerment, not a commitment to serve. This is why Nigeria wrinkles like their greying minds and limbs. This is the pathetic reality. The unruliness in the Nigerian politics has influenced every facet of the country. This is why violence and unhealthy rascality is witnessed in elections conducted by associations of medical doctors, lawyers, creative writers, farmers, transporters, teachers, students etc. It is a wind of depravity that has overwhelmed every part of the nation. This is because Nigerian leaders privilege hooliganism and terrorism in place of decency and modesty. It is a dismal situation. Tufie! Terrorists have attacked Ruwan Godiya Village in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, abducting no fewer than 50 persons in the process. A source in the community told Daily Trust that the bandits arrived on over 60 motorcycles and started shooting sporadically and they had operated unchallenged for over two hours. According to the source, there were over 20 military personnel in the village when the incident happened but they did not make any attempt to repel the attackers. “Even before they came, we heard about their plan to attack and we informed security personnel, but unfortunately they came around 7:30pm and they were there in the town for over two hours. “They injured three persons but none was killed. However, they abducted over 50 people after looting some valuables, including clothing materials,” he said Another resident alleged that soldiers, who came from the Sheme side of the local government area, saw the attackers crossing over the road with the kidnapped persons but did not make any attempt to rescue them. The latest incident comes a day after gunmen stormed the Yandaka Market in Batsari Local Government Area where they were reported to have taken all domestic animals brought to the market for sale. On Wednesday, bandits launched a deadly attack on Illela Village and environs, resulting in the death of at least 12 persons.

Jerryherd:Your hate for anything Biafra ;without any facts will definitely die with you. There was Biafra ,before your Liegeriya .My great grandma and grandpa wasnt Nigerians but Biafrans. The ancient map of Africa in 1662 showed the three kingdoms in West Africa from where the new country called Nigeria was created by the colonial masters. The three kingdoms were the Kingdom of Zamfara in the North; Kingdom of Biafra from the East and the Kingdom of Benin in the West. The three kingdoms existed on the map of Africa for more than 500 years before Nigeria was created in 1914. The kingdom of Biafra and Benin shared common boundaries and had the Atlantic Ocean in the South with direct access to the sea, through their bays known as Bight of Biafra and Bight of Benin. Now let us talk about ,all the Military Coups in Nigeria. You will agree with me with facts that they have been more Northerners Coups plotters compared to Biafrans. 1966 coup The July 1966 coup; Popularly known as the Nigerian Counter-Coup of 1966, in July, saw Major-General Gowon succeed Ironsi. It lasted from July 28 to July 30th 1966. The January 1966 coup was carried out by mostly Igbo army officers including Major Kaduna Nzeogwu, Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna among others. The casualties of the coup included the Prime Minister Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, the Sardauna of Sokoto Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Premier of the Western Region Samuel Akintola, the finance minister Festus Okotie-Eboh among others. This not true that Igbos plotted the 1966 coup. The coup was planned by some elements within the military disenchanted with the drift of Nigeria who felt that Awolowo was in the best position to move Nigeria forward. The problem was that the execution of the coup got awry at some axis and everybody now claimed it was Igbo coup.” “the coup failed and General Ironsi carved provinces in Nigeria to help each group govern themselves better. They said that he was running a unitary system and killed him, yet Nigeria s practicing the same system for which Ironsi died.” There have been a large number of successful and failed military coups in Nigeria since the country’s independence from the British Empire in 1960. A military coup is the violent or non-violent overthrow of an existing political regime by the military. Between 1966 and 1999 the army held power in Nigeria without interruption apart from a short-lived return to democracy between 1979-1983. “Military coups and military rule (which began as an emergency aberration) became a seemingly permanent feature of Nigerian politics. Buhari was the one who lead the military coup of 1983. Buhari removed then head of state shehu shagari and imprisoned him for two years in a closed door without light. Northerner. The 1975 coup General Yakubu Gowon was ousted in a palace coup on July 30, 1975, which brought then Brigadier [Murtala Muhammed] to power as Head of State. The 1976 coup (Northerner) Popularly and erroneously known as the ‘Dimka Coup’, this bloody and aborted coup led to the assassination of General Murtala Muhammed. Upon General Muhammed’s death and the foiling of the coup, then Lt General Olusegun Obasanjo became Head of State. The 1983 coup (Northerner) The Nigerian Military Coup of December 31, 1983 was led by a group of senior army officers who overthrew the democratically elected government of President Shehu Shagari. Participants included Majors General Ibrahim Babangida and Muhammadu Buhari, Brigadiers Ibrahim Bako, Sani Abacha, and Tunde Idiagbon. Major General Buhari was appointed Head of State by the conspirators. The August 1985 coup ( Northerner) This was a palace coup led by then Chief of Army Staff, Major General Ibrahim Babangida who overthrew the administration of Major General Muhammadu Buhari. The alleged Vatsa coup of December 1985 (Northerner) A coup plotter is always afriad of a coup. A former Senator, Rafiu Hanga has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to sack the service chiefs, even after much outcry, is because he is afraid of a ‘coup’. Hanga, in an interview with Sun, revealed that the national assembly has called on Mr. Buhari to remove the service chiefs due to the rising insecurity in the nation. He highlighted that the officers have remained in office despite being eligible for retirement. The Senate and the House of Representatives have made this call several times, but the president has refused to act for the reasons best known to him. Some people say he is afraid of coup.” “He once mentioned it that he didn’t want to change the Service Chief because there were very ambitious officers down the ladder. That means he is afraid of coup. The most unfortunate thing is that these Service Chiefs have over stayed their usefulness.”Some of them have spent 40 years in service. The rule is that you retire after 35 years of service or upon the attainment of 60 years of age. Some of these people have spent far and above their age of retirement so much that the junior officers are being retired.” The former Kano central Senator described the situation as ‘demoralizing and disheartening’. So get your facts right, try and study stop being myopic. Mr. Bokoharam (Book is forbidden) ![]()
