PoliticsKano Guber: NNPP Scribe, Oginni Blames Kwankwaso by Bobloco(op): 3:41pm On Nov 20, 2023
The National Secretary of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Olaposi Oginni, has said the presidential candidate of the party, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, should be blamed for how the election tribunal and the Appeal Court sacked the Governor of Kano, Abba Yusuf.

Recall that Yusuf of the NNPP was declared as the winner of the March 18 governorship election in Kano State.

However, the governor is on the verge of losing his seat to the All Progressives Congress (APC) should the Supreme Court uphold the judgements of the tribunal and the Appeal Court.

Reacting, the NNPP Secretary said Kwankwaso was a major factor responsible for the sack of the Kano Governor, accusing him of alleged irregularities and electoral malpractices.

Oginni also blamed the ordeal of the Kano governor on “Kwankwaso’s greediness and his insatiable search for power and relevance”.

In a statement made available to DAILY POST, the NNPP leader maintained that the lack of internal democracy allegedly orchestrated by Kwankwaso brought about the Kano loss.

According to him, the party ignored relevant constitutional requirements since Kwankwaso became the party’s candidate.

He alleged that names of people who did not participate in the party’s primaries were uploaded into the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) portal as candidates.

“It is unfortunate that this avoidable embarrassment of the removal of Kano State Governor was as a result of unholy activities in the Maitama house of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in the build up to 2023 General Election when the Party Situation Room was relocated to Kwankwaso’s bedroom,” he alleged.

Kwankwaso and his Kwankwasiyya group, he claimed, joined the NNPP and hijacked the structure of the party at all levels, saying Kwankwaso ordered the loading of candidate’s names with or without primaries.

In Ogun State, Oginni stated that Kwankwaso uploaded the name of Ajadi Oguntoyinbo who did not participate in the primary as the governorship candidate to replace Jobi Fayoyin.

“It is very clear that the lack of internal democracy orchestrated by Kwankwaso brought about this Kano calamity,” he said.

Speaking further, Oginni said nemesis was catching up with Kwankwaso and the defunct National Working Committee of the party who passed a resolution for the expulsion of the founder of the NNPP, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam.

He charged the former Kano governor to recognise Aniebonam as the founder and spiritual head of the NNPP, asking him and Gov. Yusuf to openly apologise to Aniebonam for causing NNPP avoidable headache.

This, he said, should be done before the final judgement at the Supreme Court, saying “I strongly believe it is not over until it’s over.”

"A three-member panel of the tribunal, headed by Justice Ibrahim Karaye, dismissed the petition on the ground that it was a pre-election matter and was statute-barred"

But in Plateau and Kano state, a pre election matter is being used to sack the two governors because there is a wicked plan to snatch this two states from the opposition and hand them to the APC.

It most surely favour those who brought this set of notorious criminals engaging in criminal state capture to power

PoliticsPlateau: Blame PDP For Gov Mutfwang’s Sack, Not Tinubu, Judiciary – Onanuga by Bobloco(op): 1:41pm On Nov 20, 2023
The Presidency has faulted those complaining over the judgment of the Appeal Court sacking Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State.

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, should be blamed for the sack of its governor, Mutfwang and not the president or the judiciary.

Onanuga pointed out that PDP used an illegal caretaker committee to conduct primaries in Plateau State, despite a court order.

The Appeal Court had set aside the judgement of the governorship election tribunal that upheld the election of Mutfwang as governor of the state.

The court declared Dr Nentawe Yilwatda of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the governorship election while ordering the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a fresh certificate of return to him.

Reacting, Onanuga recalled how the All Progressives Congress, APC, lost Zamfara State in 2019 over illegal primaries.

Posting on X with the title: “The avoidable fate of Caleb Mutfwang,” Onanuga wrote: “To those crying and complaining about the judgment of the Appeal Court in nullifying the Election of Governor Caleb Mutfwang, they seem to have forgotten history so quickly.

“In 2019, all Zamfara elected officials and members of the APC, from governor to state and National Assembly lawmakers lost their posts because the APC failed to carry out legally valid primaries.

“The PDP, failing to learn from history, repeated the same illegality, using an illegal caretaker committee to conduct primaries, despite a court order.

“Blame the PDP for the electoral setback, not the APC, the judiciary, INEC and President Tinubu.

“Non-compliance with the electoral law and the constitution is also at the root of the nullification of the election of Kano governor, Abba Yusuf. Those blaming the judiciary and being emotional about the ruling should face reality. Yusuf was sacked based on the law. I believe we all want our country to be guided by the rule of law.”

The Same judiciary affirm election of bala Mohammed of PDP in bauchi... Next time PDP ll do due diligence their anyhowness cost them like it happened to APC in zamfara 2019
It's easy for you to defend this judicial banditry by accusing me of being emotional

Was Tinubu emotional when he threatened the judiciary with anarchy and chaos through his counsel Wole Olanipekun at the PEPT

The Zamfara case is different because yari and marafa factions took their party the APC to court unfortunately PDP became the beneficiary of APC's internal wranglings but in this case, the APC is meddling into the internal affairs of the PDP and the compromised judiciary is condoning it. Is this not a case of APC becoming a Meddlesome interloper, doing busy body in the internal affairs of the PDP

I still maintain that The opposition will be making a serious mistake if they hope to get justice from this compromised judiciary.

Before the judgement was given, Ganduje, the APC national chairman was boasting that they will snatch Kano state from the NNPP using the judiciary. Wasn't that a clue to the fact that they now dictate to the judiciary

Tareq1105:
I don't know why Nigerians are surprised at the Court decision.

In 2019 general election APC Rivers State had no candidate into all the positions.
Why?
Bcoz Court said APC should conduct fresh Congress election from Ward, LG, to State level.
They went back for the election but it was parallel election bcoz APC then was factionalized.
So, Court didn't accept outcome of either faction.
Here PDP was asked to conduct its Congress election from Ward LG to State level since 2021 but they ignored the Court. Whose fault now? If you're a product of illegality, or product of Court disobedience, you would be punished. Bcoz Court wouldn't allow you to place something on nothing.
In the case of Rivers state APC members took their party to court

But in plateau state, APC is now taking PDP to court and getting favourable judgement over PDP's internal party affairs.

How is that the business of APC that PDP didn't conduct it's ward, local and state congress. Is the APC not a meddlesome interloper over this case. Is The APC not doing busy body over this case.

This is the angle why people are angry on the judiciary

"It is no surprise that this kind of thing only happens in political and election disputes, where politicians chase judges with money and induce open trades in the outcome of judicial proceedings. This is why judicial mercenarism is often accompanied by unconcealed hubris. Just this past week, Yargata Nimpar, a Justice of Appeal, informed the appellants in the judicial contest over the governorship of Lagos State that they “came empty-handed and left empty-handed. They merely enjoyed their day in court.”
