I never understood the point of these surveys. If you work your own land, what do you need money for? Do cows, goats, yams, chickens, and camels count as money on these studies? These fools would look at a family with a large farm, 1000 cattle, 200 camels, and 5000 goats and record them as being poor, just because they don't use currency. 5 Likes |

They would laugh at us and call us daft. They do not need to look for our approval to have confidence in their own history. Africans have been writing for thousands of years. Plenty of those books were important to OTHER AFRICANS. They are the Fathers (and Mothers) of African literature. Not some baby that the oyibos just heard of yesterday. |

Most of the daft tribalists on this website are not even Nigerian. Achebe knew that African literature is thousands of years old. He was not a fool. You silly ibo whiners can claim him as the Father of Igbo literature if you want. It is your own fault that you just learned how to read and write. But it is insulting to try to make him the father of Egyptian, Ethiopian, Zimbabwean, Berber, Mandika, etc, etc authors that were around thousands of years before he was born.
