PoliticsRe: Don’t Vote For Buhari, He Will Bring Back Dictatorship – Mu’azu Begs Nigerians by bodejohn(m): 2:03pm On Dec 21, 2014

Mu'azu is right. Buhari is a dictator. Once a dictator always a dictator.
Nigeria need democrats like GEJ, not coup plotters.
David Mark and others plotted the coup that brought Buhari to power...

I am just seeing this post now. You fought a good fight and ended the race. I've checked through and I didn't see bodejohn and the rest of the doubters argue anymore.

I was really wondering how they were confusing themselves with solar cell efficiency as compared to power rating efficiency I have been writing about.
I wasnt condfussing efficiency with power rating...I know exactly what each means.

You call it aguement, I see it as knowledge and information sharing as I also admit that no one knows it all.

I shared spec sheets of two panels to show how efficiency and the power rating are related. You can share emperical data to back your claim.

The post you quoted referred to a document that promised a 5% eztra power not 20%. I am even still waiting for that document to be uploaded.

Dear Richmond, you are an engineer and proffesional installer but I am a DIY enthusiast, you have to show me the theory behind the 120% harvest and we might be doing business very soon.
PoliticsRe: Why I Will Never Vote Islam Into Power by bodejohn(m): 11:07pm On Dec 20, 2014
I am not afraid of muslims and Islam, I am scared of ignorant and misguided folks like the OP.

Sudan got divided along religious lines after a bitter conflict and before a year, south sudan is back into conflict...the christian president and vice facing each other.

We need to be really careful in Nigeria, I have noticed that the religion or tribe that starts the campaign of calumny usually get consumed by it.
PoliticsRe: No Credible Presidential Candidate For 2015 by bodejohn(m): 8:14am On Dec 18, 2014
cocoduck:
The simple answer is
TRUE FEDERALISM! TRUE FEDERALISM!! TRUE FEDERALISM!!!, it can never be overemphasized. Buahri will not prosecute the likes of BAT bola ahmed tinubu, nor kwankawsiokor and Atiku just as he set shagari free and jailed Alex ekwueme. That man is as corrupt as hell . For me i prefer GEJ than any person because of this TRUE FEDERALISM. At least he is the only one talking about the Confab and in the best position to implement the reports not Boko.hari
Just read what you posted and check the topic of the thread.

It is not only about calling people names. It is about making the political process more credible.

Even if your cndidate is credible, shouldnt it bother you that there are no other credible ones coming out to slug it out with him?
PoliticsRe: No Credible Presidential Candidate For 2015 by bodejohn(m): 7:24am On Dec 18, 2014
I think you guys should cut the OP some slack although he goofed by saying that Buhari has been picking pastors as running mates deviating from the very point of his thread.

On the flip side, it will do supporters of these leading candidates no good abusing and intentionally derailing each thread.

We need to see democracy as a process that all nigerians need to be part of. A process that will evolve into a system that is fair and self sustaining. Only then can we begin to see "good" people participating.
PoliticsRe: No Credible Presidential Candidate For 2015 by bodejohn(m): 8:14pm On Dec 17, 2014
@ OP, I will not attempt to defend any of the two leading aspirants but I will have to say not voting is a vote in itself.

Just like you, I am not particuarly enthusiastic to vote for any of the candidates but we must also realise that democracy just like justice is a really slow process.

We cannot in one breat frustrate the seemly good people who have come out to ask for our votes and then turn around and cry of not seeing credible candidates.

We need to prove only one point in the coming elections, that the power of democray belongs to the people. We can only do this by coming out to vote even if it is grudgingly.

We need to keep voting till the good people become encouraged to come and vie for elective posts.

For some strange reasons, I cant attach the datasheets... i'll try again later.
Check the size of the document.
You can print it to pdf or if it is in the pdf format already, you can split the pages to reduce the size.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bodejohn(m):
@ Barezzi, I did not assume any of the values I used, I was only lazy, atached is the insolation graph, it was the average of recorded valves in Nigeria for 22yrs.

My aim is not to run any manufacturer down, the more reason I added suntech that we have known to be good from experience. You will notice that they have similar perfomance on paper.

30% improved power generation through proffesional installation is subjective but I respect your opinion.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bodejohn(m): 2:17pm On Dec 14, 2014
I am making this submission in order to stimulate ideological discussion and to dismiss hear says and half truths.

Solar panels power are rated at Standard Test Conditions (STC), but with many variables that can hardly be predicted or controlled in real life. Some of the variables include temperature, solar insolation, air mass, air velocity, longitude and latitude, angle of installation, angle of the sun, clear cloud conditions, dirty panels etc.

Efficiencies of the commercially available solar panels range between 10 – 20% at STC where all the variables mentioned above are kept constant. Efficiency of Suntech 200W mono panel is 15% and about the same for Solarworld 255W. Fast forward to real life conditions, where for every 1 degree rise in temperature above 25 degree C, maximum power generated is reduced by 0.38% for Suntech 200W panels and 0.45% solarworld 255W (see attached snip and datasheet of both panels). This could be a 10% loss on each panel on a sunny day and this is an ever increasing factor called Temperature coefficient.

Most of the extra insolation received in Lagos (5000W/m2, see attached Document) in the day is lost due to environmental conditions rather than bad installation as it is claimed. An average of 50% of same insolation is covered by the clouds in the sky.
Yes, we are above the STC conditions, but it works against us! This was clearly stated in the Wikipedia article. Travelling round the world does not guarantee knowledge especially when you are sightseeing and window shopping in malls, careful study and paying attention to details does.

@Tivta, I am not bodegeorge, I am bodejohn, kindly pay attention to details!

It's such a pity that in your 15yrs of electrical engineering practice you have always been limited to environments where energy conversions from SOLAR PANELS stay within 100%.
Sorry to disappoint you, I have not been limited to any disadvantaged environment. As a matter of fact I have cris crossed top countries in Europe and North America where renewable energy is not only a diy affair but a way of life.

To even be more specific, I have had a tour of a renewable energy plant (A massive solar farm serving a whole community) in Kolin, in one of my trips to Prague, Czech Republic.

I stand by my words, there is no form of energy conversion that delivers 100% efficiency not to talk of 120%. The last time I checked the laws of physics have not changed.

This will be my last response on this issue.

This thread is witnessing a discussion again.

Yes you are very right about the fact that the yield is a function of the demand from the load.
When I talked about Barezzi installation I was talking because I know the system very well. I was not just assuming. i was there when it was done and Barezzi himself being a technical man noticed some outstanding errors in the installation.
You once suggested that my panels were not like "Solarworld" and are therefore not.....because of the power I said it delivered..
In my 15yrs of electrical engineering practice, I am yet to see any energy conversion that gives 100% not to talk of 120%.
This however is my personal observation and not meant to mean that it is impossible.

This's precisely my gut feeling.
I'm also convinced my array is not optimally installed.
You can only confirm this by monitoring or logging the data on the CC over a period of time.

But as it is now, to me you are trying to kill a hen with a rocket launcher.

Barezzi:
Four 12v batteries at 200ah each connected in series.
4kw+ magnum inverter...
Obviously, your battery bank is too small for your 2.1kW solar panel array considering the fact that you also dont go below 60% DOD.

If you can double your battery bank, you will see a significant increase in your power generation.

I usually do not advise mixing old and new batteries especially when the old batteries are more than six months and of different model or manufacturer.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bodejohn(m): 6:43am On Dec 10, 2014
Barezzi,
How many batteries do you have?
And what is the capacity of each of the batteries?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bodejohn(m): 8:27pm On Dec 09, 2014
Oga Richmon74, you should not jump to conclusions that because we get a yield that is lower than your expections the panels are therefore cheap and substandard.

Like I said in my previous post, my CC switches to float around midday and since I hardly dip my batteries below 70% DOD I do not expect any better result. In my own case I know my battery bank is undersized, the more reason I am willing to increase by switching to Trojan batteries.

I was able to cross the 10kW mark because I switched on my fridge and freezer a little earlier on the said day and my wife had a filled day using the washing machine and the water pump.

There is no jinx to be broken as the lives of the people in Oyo state is not like a game of football.

Left to me irrespective of party affliation, any elected office holder who has underperformed in his first term does not deserve a second term.

I have only one vote and I am going to use real good.

Dear friends,

I need 8pcs of 205Ah 12V Trojan J185P-AC Batteries. But I can only raise like 50% of the total cost immediately.

My Proposal...
I will pay 50% of the cost immediately and will spread the remaining 50% over a period of not more than 4 months at 10% interest (negotiable).

My Collateral...
Post dated cheques for the remaining cost spread equally across the 4 months and my good name wink

PoliticsRe: APC Is A Union Of Muslim Governors. by bodejohn(m): 9:34pm On Nov 03, 2014
Dear friends, I think it is a pity that we allow ourselves to be divided along religious and ethinic lines by our gullible leaders...

In as much as I do not casting aspersions on past leaders, what exactly has the average nigerian benefited from the 10 to 12years of a christian in the leadership seat of our country?

I cannot even see any visible difference in the style of governance in states where both religions have had a shot at the helms of affairs... example is oyo state where I live and work

Even in states where the leadership has changed from christians to muslims or vice versa, there are semblance of outright rejection of the incumbents by the people...

The earlier we see that our political leaders are feeding fat on our gullibility along religious and ethinic lines the better we will be for it...

It is even laughable when you see Nigerians who complain about religion run to countries that are religiously inclined for medical tourisms and vacation...

I have no sympathy for any political organisation or party and I also care less about the religion or tribe of any elected office holder, my campaing and conviction is that a failure in a first tenure in office deserves no second chance!!!

I found out while trying to make the screen shots that Nigeria is no longer on the list of countries, I promise to find out why.

I also discovered that a prospective applicant will need to create a profile before been able to search and apply for open positions...

I promise again to make screen shots and post as soon as possible.
