KoloOyinbo: Yes I saw this AND addressed it in my posts.
It is just not the place of a Church to be telling them these things. They should not ask to see any cards, its not their business and if the people choose not to vote for whatever reason that is their own political choice and not the business of the Church again.
See SEPERATION of Church and State! No excuse to say chose whichever candidate you want. They might not wish to chose any and their cards are their own business. I don't think anybody that failed to show his/her card was reprimanded neither was showing the PVC your pass to entering the church. Twas an open message with no hidden agenda and I think the message still falls in line with your thought and the message is ".....vote or not, it's your choice and whoever your conscience tells you to vote for, if atall you choose to vote, vote for that person". It's simple KoloOyinbo |

Sir, I don't appreciate dimwits coming into my mention to sound funny. I welcome intelligent comments and if you can't make any, feel free to f*ck off. Back to your question, i'm not INEC. |

KoloOyinbo: OK. It says "... asked to show their PVC in Church"
This is very inappropriate for a Church. Church and State are separate.
Was this the message you wanted or was it one of the other posts? Ok. Did you see "...to vote for your choice candidate" part of the message? Again, tell me what is wrong in a church telling the congregation to vote for a candidate of their choice?. It's not like they can't choose not to vote atall, they were only advised or implored but never were they mandated to vote so tell me what is morally wrong with that. Reminding you to exercise your right, a right which you can choose not to excercise is now a crime? I'm not ready to go back and forth with you, stick to your opinion while I stick to mine. |

KoloOyinbo: Not stressing at all. Merely pointing out some pro and cons as stated.
Although being asked to produce voter id in Church seems VERY strange and somehow not quite proper.
The initial report said TOLD and not you are saying IMPLORED. I prefer it if you are correct as this is somewhat more acceptable. Bro, go back to the first page and read the caption again with an unbiased mind and tell me if there is still something remotely wrong with the message. |
Politics › Re: Photos: RCCG Members Asked To Show Their PVC In Church by Bolade005: 10:32pm On Jan 04, 2015 |
KoloOyinbo: Well there are pros and con here.
The main issue is TELLING them! Nigeria is SUPPOSED to be a democratic and free society so if you don't want to vote no one should be telling you to. Of course then you are a little hypocritical when you object to the government in power - you had your chance to vote and did not do so!
Second issue is to do with separation of Church and State. It is not any churches place to be TELLING voters to register or to vote (even they specify that the choice is up to you who to vote for.
Anyway its not a big thing but very indicative of the cultural differences between Africa and Europe. This is NOT a criticism merely an observation. Personally I feel it is peoples DUTY to vote but if anyone tried to TELL me to exercise that right I would be very angry and tell them to mind their own business! I don't understand why you people need to stress yourself over anything, they only told them to exercise their right, they never INSISTED they exercise that right. So members have a choice, they were only implored to vote for a candidate of their choice and whatever choice any member makes is of nobody's business. It's as simple as that. |

Djicemob: Its actually tactical politics. How come its only when osibanjo is selected as a vp aspirant that RCCG is now interested in politics and PVSs? #Bros we know Just because you're reading this for the first time doesn't mean this is the first time members were asked to provide their PVC. I don't want to start guessing what their initial intention was, all I care about is the message and its simple enough, EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT AND VOTE FOR THE CANDIDATE OF YOUR CHOICE and I don't see anything wrong in that. It would have been wrong if a certain candidate was imposed on them but they didn't do that so you guys should back off and let them be. |

ifex370: this is bad... very bad Actually this is good development. In the message above, members were implored to vote for the candidate of their choice, it's not like they are forced to vote a particular candidate so tell me, how is telling people to exercise their right a bad thing? Anyways, SAI BUHARI. |

Oh please, there is no way CB would ever leap to the side of GEJ. This right here is a grotesque lie fabricated by a r*tard or group of retards. Look at the source you provided, what the hell is point blank news?, you guys are really desperate and some gullible people will fall for this story and start saying nonsense about WS
We the people have made our choice already and the great general is our choice, nobody even the great CB (WS) can convince us to do otherwise.
GEJ has been given a chance and he has failed us, now we are going to give someone else a chance come Feb 14 and if this person fails us too, we will do the needful.
OP, be guided.
SAI BUHARI Vote Buhari/Osibanjo for President and Vice. |

Firefire: Goodluck to Nigeria.
The best to have happens to Nigeria at the moment. Judging from your grammar, it's not so hard to deduce the fact that you are a product of a failed educational system and I blame GEJ. I blame him for not ensuring that only qualified teachers are recruited by the educational boards across the country so people like you could get proper teachings and/or trainings so as not to disgrace yourself openly while doing something so miniscule as expressing yourself. And NO, Jonathan is not the best thing to ever happen to this country, if anything, he is actually the next worst thing to ever happen to this country after Boko haram. |

Kimmo: NL is fine mostly, but I'd like to see a more color. There are several brighter shades of green abeg.
I'd also appreciate a reduction in the amount of frivolous celebrity stories that make frontpage. Tiwa Savage is pregnant, hallelujah. And?! Some lady wants to remain a virgin till She's married. Admirable. it doesn't have to be on the frontpage. Spot on kimmo |

EroticAngelina: what feature would you love to add to Nairaland, and what would you love to remove?
for me, if its possible, I would love there to be a dislike feature and a PM(private message) feature too. ☺ let's hear yours. I would love for the mods to be more sensible nd reasonable with the kinds of topics that make front page. It's really annoying when you see senseless, meaningless posts making it to the front page. A love button would suffice. Sometimes certain people posts some nice things that are too awesome to just like them so a love button would do. |

erico2k2: U still never answered my question however I will respond bck to U wen I gt home in 2 hrs time. You have only asked me one question which is how the General will convince china to come and invest in Nigeria. We have hundreds of Chinese doing business already in Nigeria so how is convincing China an uphill task?. USA has already cut off buying Oil from Nigeria, the General will convince Obama to continue doing business with us, just sit and watch as things unfold. I am not ready to go back and forth with you. Stick to your opinion while I stick to mine but I know posterity will not forgive you if you let sentiments becloud your sense of reasoning. Be good. |
