what $18 to $60 dollar where
abeg which state
childcare is expensive. Its about $100 to $150 per day 7am to 6pm. When you think about how much you earn daily and how much childcare costs then you will know its not cheap. you will prefer to babysit instead of working. smiley coupled with this weather grin
On the issue of children that are not yet of school age, here is my finding

1. You have two option, its either you place the child in Early learning centre (Kinder for age 4) or you take your child to Family Day Care.

2. All early learning centre i visited has a price range between $104 - $108 per day depending on the number of days you want to choose and the time is 6am - 6pm. Any day chosen must be paid for whether your child shows up or not because the space is already reserved as they have specific number of child they can admit.

3.The second option is family day care and it ranges between $5 - $10 per hour. This are educator that looks after your child while you are away and they are meant to teach the child some basic things likewise. The only issue is that, some do the job better than other.

4. There is government kinder but its competitive and its only 30hrs per week in my own council area. The pay is $425 per term. You have to decide how to spreed the 30hrs based on the timetable sheet provided.

Having said all, if you are a PR holder, Government will help to make 50% of the fee or more depending or your situation and you may still be entitle to Child care rebate.

Hello house..

OR do I need to do fresh training and certifications in Aussie?
Let me add little info from an outsider perspective. I have someone in the church i attend here who has the same training in UK but still have to take the training here again to work.
Everything here is highly regulated and you have to get the basic qualification or licence to work in any industry even as a labourer. Safety is first in all things.
To work in disability or aged care, some training needed in addition to the disability course itself like manual handling, something on food hygiene and preparation and likewise police check and working with children check.
There some agencies that will take you based on your UK experience but will still require you take like certificate III or IV.
Lastly having your own car and licence is a major requirements.
Am not in that field but this is what i know so far on this subject. Over to the elders.

Thanks a lot... School resumes 24th July and I looking to do a change of course before den, I hope I won't have to postpone my entry tho
Please do all you can to get it changed. Its not easy for students paying the bills although they still work and get the bills paid but it wouldn't be good to go through all the pains and not be able to use it for PR purpose.

This land is full of opportunity for all although your journey will be faster with PR than student visa and many of the student i have met here does not even know that it is possible to process PR from Naija. The ultimate aim of majority of them is to get PR because things would have been more easier for them.

To the glory of God, we (My wife and I with our two sons) made it to Melbourne early morning of May 20th having travelled through the emirate airline booked by IOM (Anyone coming should try to book their flight through IOM, we paid N1.2M for a flight that would have cost me N2.6M if am to book it myself).

Anyone comming to Australia between now and August should come with good winter jacket because winter is starting in full swing now, the weather is cold and might be too cold for someone coming from 29 - 33 degrees.
We use the first week for all the necessary registration like Medicare, Centrelink, Bank Account opening, Tax File Number, Phone contract etc. TYOSHO has already done justice to the process for these registration in her post on page 210.

It was on Saturday that we arrived, was able to open my bank account on Sunday after church service and likewise got a SIM plan with vodafone which offer 300min talk time to Nigeria and 1000 mins talk time to US, UK, Canada, South-Africa with some few others for 45AUD. We also went to the train station to get the Myki card (As posted by Vinsmuft, you need this card to make use of public transport system in Victoria State i.e Bus, Train and Tram).

Getting accommodation is not an easy task for new comer in Melbourne. It is not about the money only, there are so many criteria in use by the estate agent. It is a requirement for you to inspect a house before you can get it and its not easy going for inspection without a personal car because many of the agents fix their inspection around the same period.Secondly, there are many requirement in the application form like pay-slip, bank statement, electricity bill, water bill, gas bill, reference from employer in some cases. Am still house hunting and am getting help from the family we are staying with.

In Melbourne, car is not a luxury, it is a requirement for work. Many job advert will ask you if you have a car, Australian drivers licence. It is a plus if you have the two because you might be on shift outside the public transport working period and some job require your card to perform effectively. Am starting the process for my licence this week by taking the first test. Ensure you come with your Nigeria drivers licence, else the process of getting licence might be longer.

I have completed two training, white card and forklift training. Have also done the police check and working with children check. Am hoping to start something with this before getting the professional job although am more preoccupied with getting accommodation at the moment.

I will update us more in the coming days...Those of us still in the process, don't give up. With the little i have seen, its a worthy adventure

I beg I need clarification! I am in the process of my PCC and Medicals, CO has not contacted me yet.
Application submitted on the 1st May 2017, this night I saw in my application that it has been finalized and my EOI account was closed.
Please house help explain what is happening?
Normally your application status change to finalized when a decision has been reached and the EOI account will be closed.
But this look a little bit weird because you are yet to submit your Medical and PCC.
Abeg check your mail inbox and spam well well and your immiaccout for any correspondence. There should be communication somehow.

Thanks for the insight and knowledge you have shared on the Forum.
I am an Electrical Engineer with 14 Years Telecom Experience, I also have a CCIE written certification.
My degree was also in Elect/Elect Engr and i got a postive assessment for degree and work experience.

Ensure that your JD align with the description on ANZSCO but if your experience and JD is telecom then it will be better to go for it.

Also note that there will be no invite for computer and network engineer till July because the occupation celling is filled already for the year.

Help me praise the Lord. I got my assessment outcome from vetassess this morning and it came out positive.

13/01 - Submitted application for skill assessment support (SAS)
01/02 - Got consultation call from SAS
15/02 - Submitted application for full assessment
27/02 - They received my transcripts
29/03 - Got a positive assessment as an Agricultural consultant.
Please, i need guidance for my sister on assessment as Agricultural Consultant with VETASSESS.
1. She had a BSc in Agricultural Economics and Extension (5yrs programme) and she works as Agric Extension Officer but less than 1 year. How many number of years experience is required by VETASSESS for positive assessment? I have search their site but haven't come up with the answer.

2. Is Tax clearance a must because i see it as part of required documents or will payslip be enough.

3. Can you share the JD you use for your assessment. I will PM you on this.

4. I will love to have any other info that you deem necessary on this.

Thanks

I got my +ve assessment from ACS this morning. I used my Microsoft certification since my Bsc. is not related to computer in any way. I was considered RPL but since I have MS certification i decided to upgrade my old certification and then use it. They deducted 5 years of experience.
Good to hear bro. All the best with your English exam prep.

Please, can I obtain police clearance certificate at Police Headquarter in Ogun State which is Eleweran, Abeokuta or it is compulsory that one get it at Alagbon?
The PCC can only be issued from Lagos or Abuja although you can process it from Abeokuta but it will take time and will be costly.
My younger brother process his own at Iyaganku in Ibadan when he was to travel to Canada. He waited for 4 days and paid 13k.
It will be best to take a trip to Alagbon and get it done faster and cheaply

Thank You All ooo.

I just woke up to my ACS outcome this morning, as if they felt my cry.
So sorry for the outcome.

From what you posted, you got the -ve assessment based on experience and this might be due to your JD.

There is someone on this thread who also got a -ve assessment for a 10yr experience as ICT Business Analyst.
We have repackaged the JD and re-appeal and i was eventually +ve.

Hello House,

I'm suspecting a foul play from GTB during my visa payment.
It has always being like that. Like the time i made payment for my own, I have 6,000 USD on my card and based on the conversion i did on xe.com, the money am to pay amount to 5,527 USD but i kept on getting insufficient fund on the card while trying to make payment. I have to transfer additional 100 USD to the card before i could make the payment and i was charges 6,029 USD eventually.
I don't know the rate they are using, it can never be the CBN rate. Nigerian banks are major problem when it comes to forex.

Morning peeps, please is it necessary to certify all docs, for visa lodgement, at the Australian embassy before uploading them?
Don't need to certify any document. Scan the documents the way they are and upload it. There is no physical contact in the process except the Medical Examination. Issue of Embassy does not apply here.

How long did it take from Lodgement to Grant?
There is no fix timeline. It depend on individual cases and the assign case officer. Mine took 10 days and I have seen some that is more than 100days.

Hey Boss,

You can. Just remove the cover letter. Don't have to put it. The main thing is the transcript itself. I used the the one I collected in 2009. I have a scan copy of it.

Hello Guys,

2. Is there anyone from LAUTECH in the group, how did you get a copy of your transcript as I read online that it can only be sent to an institution?

Please I need urgent help

cc: Bellong
You can just put an address that you have access to where you can pick the transcript.
Just remove the cover letter and photocopy the main transcript for certification before scanning it.
I must say that there is problem presently with the transcript, its taking longer than usual.
Just apply online and let me know when its done.

@Bolaobby, thanks for your response.

Please will ACS consider years of working in IT before getting CCNP as experience?

Also I have a CCDP. Will I get seperate points for CCNP & CCDP?
Your years of experience start after your first degree.
CCNP and CCDP will be assessed separately but it will equate to Diploma in each case.
I submitted my CCNP and CCIE in my case and both was assessed as Diploma with major in computing
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bolaobby: 5:43pm On Mar 27, 2017
ogbevireo:
What is your own occupation?
I a systems/network administrator. I intend to use my CCNP certification as my Bachelors was in English and Literature. So I might be losing some of my years of experience after ACS assesses my documents.

Thank you for reply to my initially post.
Your CCNP will be assessed as equivalent to Diploma with major in computing.
You still need Bachelor degree or many years of experience if your bachelor degree is not computer related
