chipower:Why is the topic important? Rice is but just an option in the plethora of foods available to every Nigerian. The economic downturn has had a toll on all commodities in markets nationwide, so why is rice suddenly a prime concern that it has to deserve a nairaland thread committed to it pricing template? |
OP, with all due respect, you're lying! I am a Cross Riverian who has done plenty business across the borders of Cameroon, all the way into Douala and even had a brief stint in the capital city of Yaounde. I currently operate from Abuja and still conduct business with acquaintances in Cameroon. The last transfer I received was on Tuesday this week through the Orange funds exchange. The 21,000 francs I received translated to 19,700 naira. That means the naira still holds an edge over the francs. Agreeably, about 5 weeks ago, the naira and the francs found a balance, then the francs leapfrogged naira by a small margin, but that disparity only lasted for about a week. We all agree that the economy is in a terrible state, but please stop peddling lies to the reading public just to court sensationalism. I don't like Tinubu and his governance style, but I detest when people create facades of intended deceit. |
What kind of lengthy and unnecessary epistle is this one ?! |
So you people created a thread for rice ? As in, RICE o?! Someone woke up today and after considerate thoughts, decided to open nairaland and create a thread for rice! And another retard woke up as a nairaland moderator, overlooking the litany of threads in various sections, decidedly nodded his coconut head in satisfaction that RICE deserved to be on the front page. Okay. While we're at it, when are you clowns creating threads for sardines, garri, margarine, eggs, sausage and weed? |
Think9ja:How many bags dey your kitchen? |
For the first time since 2013, I'm sitting in a viewing center to watch the Arsenal/Nottingham Forest match. For want of excitement and playful banter, I usually watch my matches in designated bars instead of home. Sadly, one of those bars closest to me now, are unable to afford fuel to run their generator during the day cause they have to consider their evening business. One way or the other, we're all feeling the squeeze of Tinubu's horrendous start to governance.. ![]() |
Gandrova:The matter pain reach to be fight my guy! |
If this is true, this retard has very misplaced priorities. |
Great100000:Lol. |
IconicR:Sixty percent of the folks on Tinubu's ministerial list are not loyal and can easily cause unneeded trouble for their personal gains when the opportunities abound. So what gives? |
IconicR:What's your grouse with Wike, this woman? |
helinues:I know you didn't read through the body of the thread, so you're allowed to vomit nonsense that's unrelated to the entire content.. ! |
keymatt:They will wail for the next 8years because Ebola Tinubu the Jagaban is here to stay.. ! |
APC stooges are singing discordant tunes. Their poorly fed foot soldiers here on nairaland are vehemently claiming the intended war is NOT between Nigeria and Niger, but rather an all Ecowas affair. While Femi Fani Kayode is blabbing in the opposite direction. Are we to believe then, that the party has failed to harmonise the bits of details embedded in the lies they dish out to their propaganda machineries? Cause this entire melee stinks way up to the high heavens. One thing however remains a certainty: you cannot support APC and Tinubu while still retaining the premium use of your sensibilities. One has to give room for the other. |
Kano indigenes are enemies of Nigeria , according to APC minions. |
Semi-literate nairaland town crier don drop quote. |
I've always liked this man. He embodied a unique personality on our Tv screens. |
IconicR:I had to remind you abi ?Same way I had to remind you to check your mailbox. Your own is to sit here and disturb the peace of Nigerians with the debilitating affairs of Ebola Tinubu. Na there you go answer present! |
OP, I'm amazed as to how measles didn't make your list. |
IconicR:Rose, have you greeted me this morning? |
All this nonsense is of no consequence. The el-rufai that I and most Kaduna indigenes know, is an extremely vindictive human. The fact this National embarrassment saw him quietly travelling out of the country should be enough to give even Tinubu a lot of concerns. Nasir el-rufai does not forgive. Especially not offences this weighty. There are dozens of incidents to attest to that fact. Even Buhari as a sitting President was very careful around him. The cabals around Buhari, despite how powerful they were, especially the one headed by the late Kyari, equally approached his issues with tact. I don't care for Tinubu one bit. But if I know el-rufai the way I do, that man is capable of destabilising this country over this singular incident. |

Dino Melaye trying to replicate Peter Obi's streets campaign format . |
It can never be well with the Glazers family of Manchester United!! |
Ayoola171:How some of you choose to understand things can be quite befuddling! Nigerians in Niger were protesting against Ecowas invasion, saying they're comfortable with their host. And now those same Nigerians are asking to be evacuated because it's plenty obvious that Ecowas has ignored their protests not to invade Niger. So how exactly does this report negate the previous news, Oga Segun? |
LeoDeKing:About 3hours after this rubbish comment, you don't even have a single "like".. .Are you not tired of fooling your adult self on nairaland? |
ImperialYoruba:Lol. And what exactly are the reasons you're raising shoulders for? Pray tell! There's absolutely nothing the South West has achieved in Nigeria for the last 50years, that the South South region hasn't achieved. |
merit455:Lol. The bad roads in Cross River are mostly Federal roads. If there's one thing I respect Liyel Imoke for, it's the fact he rehabilitated rural roads in almost all local government areas. Considering the fact Donald Duke mostly focused on glorifying Calabar, Imoke paid more attention to infrastructural developments in other LGAs. So, you cannot confidently attribute bad roads to Cross River State, except you're talking about Federal roads, which are mainly just three even: Itu to Odukpani junction, Ugep to Odukpani junction and Akpabuyo to Navy base junction in Calabar South, are basically the roads you can frown upon. |
Angelfrost:Both transactions are still on the scale. With Maguire's departure, there's the high positivity Amrabat's transfer should come through in the next few days. |
Angelfrost:Easy bro! Let it go. Are you in Abuja? We could do a couple of beers together. |
