Yes, by a foreigner like you.

Here in our democracy, we believe by constitution that our NASS represents all of us.

Their president is elected by the National People's Congress (NPC) , constitutionally China's highest state body, which also has the power to remove the president and other state officers from office. Elections and removals are decided by majority vote.

NPC is believed by Chinese Constitution to represent all sections of China as all these people are represented in their NPC.

So how they choose to run their own democracy of which if looked at critically is correct, is up to them and not you being a foreigner. Got it?

Good!
Got it!

Howbeit, China is still not categorised as a model for 21st century democracy. However you choose to coin the narrative, the reality is undeniable and unmistakable.

This is not however, meant to wholely demonise or discredit whatever they consider to be their version of democracy, that is currently in practice. Nay! This is only meant to clear the air as regards the lucid serenity of appropriate information.
Politics › Re: Niger: Gap Between Leaders And Followers Is Africa’s Problem – Sam Adeyemi by BoldBrainz(m): 7:47am On Aug 11, 2023
IconicR:
Nigerians are highly sentimental people, if it ain't their region in power then there's a problem and they will never cooperate with such person. The masses are the problems of Africa as a whole and until we have one voice in TRUTH devoid of any form of sentiments we will continue rotating in same cycle. One Voice Means Revolution.
You raised a valid point, albeit in total deviation from those raised in the body of the thread.

Our inclinations to emotional and sentimental deductions are unarguably worrisome, but Mr Sam Adeyemi is trying to draw your attention to the societal disconnect that exists between the leaders and the led. This has consequently translated to a wide gulf in living conditions, where the leaders live in stupendous opulence and monumental waste while even the supposed "middle class" of citizens have to brainstorm on detailed monthly budgets to be able to get by.

It ought not to be so. The wealth of the Nation is in the hands of a select few. While well over hundreds of millions of Africans are insensitively left to scrounge in squalor and odious penury.. huh.

Good morning Rose. I still dislike you cause your political views annoy me. Just a reminder.

It seems there's some kind of confusion. Okay, let's fix that.

The Chinese Government is run by a civilian and not the military as in coups.

The president of China is elected by the National People's Congress (NPC), constitutionally China's highest state body, which also has the power to remove the president and other state officers from office. Elections and removals are decided by majority vote .

China is not a liberal democracy. The Chinese government and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) state that China is democratic nonetheless . Many foreign (including you) and some domestic observers categorize China as an authoritarian one-party state , with some (including your lecturers/teachers) saying it has shifted to neoauthoritarianism .
Semantics, bro.

In the general sense of societal agreeability of the basics and tenets that constitute a modern democracy, China does not meet the criteria, and is therefore, not considered a democracy.

Irrespective of the fact that I fan Davido over Wizkid, turning down an ardent fan would make him lose many fans to the millions of arewas he recently lose due to the islamic video clips he posted.

And no Yorubas came to his rescue after claiming that Christians and Muslims are one in Yoruba land.
Have you stopped to consider the fact that Davido might not actually be home, in his Lagos residence?

The fact he even found time to personally respond to the tweet, shows enough decency on his part.

Like, how dahfvck do you just unilaterally wake up and decide to do something as stupid as cycling from Benue to Lagos just to go show your enthusiasm and admiration for a seasoned celebrity, without having the mental capacity to reason that his schedules may have taken him out of the country at that time.. huh?!

Interesting and lucky you. So how did the whole episode end?
Traditional rulers of both communities involved in the imbroglio were taken in for intense questioning. The investigations further provided two of the perpetrators, both of which were able to help security agencies identify the shallow graves of two of the murdered engineers.

Knowing how long Police investigations and court cases can stretch, I eventually lost touch with the case. I don't know if the families of the victims found the needed closure. But I do know the project was kicked off again at some point during the investigation, after security had been beefed up by the Nigerian Army and police personnel.

This is not a development to gloat over.

All over the world, no external investors (whether individuals or conglomerates) continue with investments, contracts, assignments, etc.., in regions plagued with one form of unrest or the other. While the threats and potential tendencies for violence persist, such infrastructural developments are put on hold, mainly for the safety of human assets and largely to prevent wasting budgetary allocations, should the unrest impact negatively on already started projects.

Back in November 2021, five seasoned civil and structural engineers were kidnapped and brutally slaughtered in Ezzi local government of Ebonyi State, when the government contracted the construction of ring road from the Cross River/Abakaliki Express intersection. The unfortunate incident happened as a result of unaddressed communal discontent and the Ebonyi state government had to temporarily suspend that project pending the conclusive investigation of that inhuman crime. Suffice it to say that I was supposed to be a part of that contingent as a logistics personnel, but I was assigned on another trip to Ekok in Cameroon, just 2hours before those engineers took off.

Politics › Re: Dokubo Seeks Permission To Battle Niger Coup Leaders by BoldBrainz(m): 6:40am On Aug 11, 2023
Asari Dokubo is unwittingly seeking relevance in the present scheme of societal affairs. His recent media overtures and consistent wooing of the Aso rock occupants, leaves much to be laughed about.

However, what should rather be more concerning to reasonable Nigerians of other regions about this particular claim of his, is the fact that the ex-militants leader has a cache of weapons and ammunitions that can be considered "enough" to equip a private army.

He quite recently released a video of a gathering of his acclaimed foot soldiers, showing youths numbering well over 200 adult males. And I can freely confirm to you, that Asari as an individual enjoys the loyalty of a much larger percentage of youths in his state, than was seen in that video.

That being the case, it is instructive to worry over the realisation that the "warlord" has a stockpile of sophisticated arms and ammunitions sitting prettily somewhere in the South South region, and commensurate enough to weaponise a small army of non-state actors, yet everyone from the masses to the elites are too busy finding delights in his media shenanigans, to actually be asking the proper questions.

- Why is Asari Dokubo so confidently boasting of having an army that is equipped enough to protect the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria?

- Considering the obvious numerical strength of this acclaimed private army, how much arms and ammunitions are in the ownership of Asari's stockpile?

- Why are the relevant security agencies not seeing the need to investigate this blatant disobedience of the guidelines of our constitution?

- Having seen previous pictures and videos of Asari with sophisticated weaponry (the likes of AK-47 rifles, military grade Rocket propelled grenade launchers, etc) in the media, shouldn't security agencies and the relevant government institutions be particularly concerned about the proliferation of heavy weapons in the South South?

- If Asari Dokubo can individually project a well armed private army as a Niger Deltan without access to government resources, what is the guarantee that Mr Government Ekpemukpolo AKA Tompolo, does not have an even more boisterous collection of arms and ammunitions, seeing how he's more recognised within government circles (circa; his recent multi-billion naira oil pipelines safety and protection contract under the previous administration of Muhammadu Buhari)?!

- Outside these two known individuals, how much arms and ammunitions are currently sitting in the homes and offices of individuals and groups in the South South region of Nigeria?

These questions and indeed more, should collectively form the basis of thoughts for all well meaning Nigerians, instead of the macabre dance of mediocrity that sees people finding delight and aggrandizement in issues of no immense relevance other than our habitual penchant for glorifying pettiness.

This CBN is a funny institution.

- You'll "soon" start naming and shaming commercial banks involved in illegal racketeering of dollars after over 15years that the practice has been in place?

- You want to encourage forex imports from the Diaspora and you're offering a 5 naira rebate when the politicians who are buying up, hoarding and trading these dollars in the open markets, are doing so at profit rates of at least 50 naira per dollar? Why would I give up an opportunity to earn 50 naira per dollar for your 5 naira kickback, if I'm not mad.. huh?!

- And why won't your currency be undervalued when you produce nothing, manufacture nothing, hardly patronise locally made goods, have an economy whose 80percent foundation is firmly rooted on the back of another country's currency, and you're thoughtlessly still even giving that currency the open air liberty to be swayed in whatever direction the market forces take it?! Same market forces being hugely determined by cabals of elites that are rather bent on putting the Nation on her knees, so long as they make stupendous monies?

Sense is far from you people!
