Hello. This came up in a roundtable last week.

A young minister asked to know if a new church not fully set for incorporation can operate with business name registration while awaiting to upgrade to full incorporation later on.

Is this possible at all or is it feasible in the Nigerian legal landscape? if not what are the alternative options for such organisation to operate legally in Nigeria?

Thank you

2. What shall be the implications of such startup (as in 1, if possible)
Thanks
Phones / Re: How To Update/Reload Your Blackberry Firmware Manually by bolu(m): 7:05am On Jun 26, 2013
femi4: If you have a Blackberry device that has an available firmware update, but for some reason you are unable to update via the regular process {Over the Air}, here is how to go about it Manually.

1. Visit http://us.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html

Choose the correct Network Carrier on your Blackberry & also choose the Correct Model, > Click the Next Button

2. Now Click on the Download Link on their Site, Run and Install the newly downloaded program.

3. Do not mark the option to open Desktop Manager when finalizing the installation.

4. After Installation, Go to My Computer > Open this Path C:> Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader and Locate & deletethe File Vendor.xml

5. Connect BlackBerry to PC viaUSB

6.Now Open the Desktop Manager
You should be prompted for the update at this point. (If not, select “Update” in desktop manager) and you’ll get the prompt for the update. When presented with the menu, select "View other Versions”, and pick the appropriate firmware version installed on your PC (local installation).

Follow the On Screen Step from there & your Device Firmware will be Successfully Updated.

Precaution:- Please backup your Blackberry device using the Desktop Manager before trying to Update your Phone Firmware.

I have tried number 1 to 5. On 6, however, there is no prompt for update. What should I do please?

Phones / Can I Use Mtn 3g Service Subscription On My Phone? by bolu(m): 8:47am On Dec 29, 2009
Can I use MTN 3G service subscription on my phone along side my prepaid phone account?

I have subscribed to one of the data plan using the service on the phone since yesterday. Now that I want to load call credit on the same line i a trying to be careful before the data charges switches from the 3g subscription to the call credit at per kb billing.
Phones / Re: To Subscribe To Glo Data Plan by bolu(m): 6:38am On Dec 29, 2009
Thanks Zenus. I was @ a gloworld and was there told that the 3g plus service cannot run through the phone, but only through their modem.

According to the attendant, attempt to use the service through phone will attract charges @ per kb.

I believe this is a rip-off to limit one to the modem only. i actually want the access on my phone which can also serve as modem.

Hello people. is there anyone there on glo blackberry service.

I subscribe to the connect service very recently with the mind to use the solution to reduce the need to be flipping open my net-book here and there.

the first message i received was that my blackberry was being processed and would soon be activated.

thereafter i was told the blackberry service was now active, with the instruction to restart my device by taking out the battery and re-inserting it back. added to that was the request that i should kindly use the blackberry browser for the service and that i could call 333 for assistance.

i did everything but the last one, and when there was nothing sent to me maybe a link to download the browser couple with fact that nothing indicated the connect software which i thought would also be provided, i called 333 only to be told by the system that the line is to be called by the prepaid users of the blackberry service (which i am).

i tried browsing to send mail to blackberry@ggloworldcom the access was charged not from my subscription but from my phone credit.

when i tried to register on gloworld device PIN was required. where do i get that on e63?

what is it that i need to do/know.

good people on Nairaland might have help for me.

Religion / Re: First Fruit Offering Is Brainwashing! Tunde Bakare by bolu(m): 2:15am On Aug 02, 2009
It is appalling how much the church stoops to error. The first basis for such is 'who says it' as if the church of Christ is a personality cult. the second one is 'pragmatism' - if it works, it is true. Anyone can find series of scriptures to support whatever he has to banter today.

On the subject of first-fruit, we know it has been practiced in agrarian societies with pattern after the Old Testament and in line with the extent of their knowledge. However, the revival of teachings on it today is nothing but but flagrant flouting of the current order. Heb. 1.1. though God has spoken to the fathers through the prophets in parts and in degrees; he now speaks to us through the Son. The progressiveness of divine revelation peaked in Christ who came not to destroy the old but to fulfill it. the Old was described as the type/shadow - Heb.8; while in the New we find out that the reality is Christ - Col. 3.

Many of those teaching the first-fruit offering, I must admit, are sincere in their heart; but would their sincerity be the basis that validates the scriptures.

Whatever the church must hold as doctrine cannot but have its validation from the New Testament.

Look through the New Testament, not once did the First-fruit refer to monetary offering but to Christ as the first to be resurrected from the dead.

Disagree with me, but watch out as we have not seen the end of the novelties as far as offerings are concerned. If Christ tarries there will be more innovations to invade the pocket of the uninformed.

Check out your Bible very well you will discover that tithe and first-fruit are linked in the then agrarian culture.

This is not to limit church people from being blessed but to sound alarm to the unlearned.

Praise God for TBN, but you don't have to swallow all the sharp practices from there.

Before long God will be calling you to mount Moriah during Easter to 'sacrifice your financial Isaac'. There will be no end to new innovations to raise more money.
