Your question makes sense. The narrative out there is they have not spent enough on players. On the contrary, they have matched top clubs in terms of spending.

The 700m debt service amount is what people keep talking about, how they could have spent it on players. How many clubs have spent 1.7 to 2 billion on player acquisitions in the last 10 years?
Gbam. The owners have invested enough money into the club in regards to buying players. People that where ready to buy Sancho for 80 to 90million during the pandemic. When it comes to spending money on players they have done their job.

Lol how is that not a bad deal. Someone doesn't want to come yet you signed him and a year later he leaves at a lose, bad deals doesn't get worse than that.
I don't understand. Did United put a gun to Di Maria's head and told him he must come to club. He signed the contract because he wanted to come to united. Where are you guys getting your info from?

What of that Maguire 80 million?
Let's take a look at City backline options

Stones.....50million
Ake.......41million
Dias.......60million
Laporte......57million.…....208million on just their Cb option. When we add fullbacks that's almost 350milion. To that's Sensible spending right?

Everybody's got some power of insight looking back now.. If any of Owen, Valencia, Di Maria, Depay or Sanchez worked out, this would be a moot discussion about 2009 and we'll be talking of how shrewdly we replaced Ronaldo.

This is funny.

When City was spending , they were penny pinching. When City started winning titles and they fell back, they started spending money without sense. And when they secured top 4 they stop spending money again. And then they repeat the process.

Spending money without sense to get UCL football.

How does spending money without sense bring about success and trophies?
Can you give just 2 scenarios where united spend money without Sense? What the Bleep... does that even mean?

Who puts incompetent people to negotiate deals with other club? Na Ole abi na Pogba?
This is why having conversation with people that have no idea of management practices or how to run an organization is stupid because the type without any knowledge of anything. So you think it's the glazers that appoint Football scouts and the coaches?

It's not about the amount of money spent but the quality of the signings . Imagine, signing a right back that can't attack for 50 million, A midfielder that can't pass for 54 million and a defender that can't head the ball properly for 80 million and you want to win trophies cheesy cheesy.

Pathetic!
Have the owners spent money on players or not? Is it the glazers that scot players and negotiate deals with other clubs?

All the top 6 teams have spent better than United in the last decade, except Arsenal. And include Leicester in that list. Go and check. It’s not about throwing money at anything and everything.

When City was building a formidable squad, the Glazerts were relying on an ageing squad to keep delivering the goods. And when they should be wise in the market they were foolish and then set a precedent of being foolish.
I didn't ask for better. I asked how many clubs have outspent United in England over the last 10yrs? Just one City. So don't even act like the owners have not spent enough on players.

They talk about it as if finding round pegs for round holes is a Herculean task.

Man City owners don’t know much about football and winning trophies but they are smart enough to bring in people who have built structures that have brought in trophies. And they went for them. Pep Gustfiola, Txiki, etc. They also bought players, broke numerous transfer records etc so as to create the atmosphere and structure of perrenial winners.

Watch how they’ll buy a correct striker for Pep when Aguero leaves.

It’s clear that they want the trophies. And soon enough , watch how the money will start trooping in.

With United, it’s the opposite. Money comes first so they don’t care about other things. The people at the top who are responsible for structure and player management haven’t changed much. Murtough, the newly appointed football director or so is rumored to fvck up Haaland’s transfer to United couple of years ago by being negligent and careless. Look at him being rewarded with a new improved role. What does Fletcher have on his CV to justify the role they just handed him?

But you fans want success. When the owners want money. They don’t care about success at all. Ole and underperforming players are a symptom of the system. They pay unnecessary big bucks when it doesn’t merit it and when the situation rises to spend a bit more and achieve success, they fold up.

The only thing keeping United is the brand that SAF worked tirelessly to build for decades. And that brand is quietly fading. When Man City takes over and nobody gives a fvck about United again, these people will sell the club and move onto the next victim.
The bold is ironic. Success breeds more money so they are easily interwoven. How many clubs in England have outspent us on transfers over the last 10yrs?

If we want to talk about what's fair then man city playing Blackburn in fa cup games isn't a competition but because Blackburn will earn match day revenue from man city's visit, we will pretend like it's a competition, guy football has evolved, there are rich and there are poor, forcing the rich to bully the poor because you want everyone to eat is pointless and doesn't achieve anything

loans servicing and they were playing players while the game was suspended, if no money is coming in and you are paying players, where is that money coming from? it's when the game resumed that things started to get better but most were already in debt because of that backlog of revenue

Matchday revenue is ticket sales

Broadcast is broadcast cheesy

Go and look at any major club finances, this method requires external resources to succeed, that's why psg and city can out buy any club, it's not sustainable, they will get bored after winning the champions league multiple times and what happens then?
You didn't answer my question. You brought up stadium revenue and broadcasting money. During the pandemic period when stadiums where closed many clubs ran into debt and even required their players to take pay cuts. This is the first time it has happened in football. What caused it?

you keep talking about the importance of fans and it's money that makes teams competitive not the fans

You want mbappe, where is the club going to get the money from?

Fans are secondary, Clubs are in debts and many will fall into administration that's ok for small teams but for big teams that's not good, it might seem impossible to you but money is important, if Roman signed up it's because he knows that it will be beneficial to the team long term, not greed like people are making it seem

Where is Portsmouth today? Leeds was bought by an American investment firm that invested in the team to get them there, nobody invest money into something and will just keep pouring in money like a fool, the brand has to become self sufficient and under the old method that wouldn't happen

Fans are secondary, emotional and very stupid, when Lampard was sacked fans cried, same fans are celebrating tuchel
When did I say the bold?

The first casualty for UEFA. A powerful Australian media firm withdraws it's renewal bid for the champions league due to "uncertainty".
UEFA is fighting a losing battle.
Spot flick is a nothing company in Australia. There are only 2 big sports streaming services in Australia that could compete (Kayo and Optus). They are withdrawing because they went in with a blind bid to get the rights over Optus and realised they don't have the cash for it a few days ago cause no bank gave them the loan so this is an easy way out for them.

I don't understand your Vexation with the proposed League. If People as you are this concerned with Nigeria League, perhaps the League might be on par with EPL and Co.

Who cares how PL and Co pan out? As far as I am entertained every mid-week with best of Football - Chikena. I don't understand why you're hawking the Matter like Gala in Traffic.

Look at Burnley Players? Do they look like Footballers? Some of them be like UFC Fighters. Too strong and rugged. They are in no way playing attractive Football, but gbas gbos kinda football.

Did you see United vs Burnley? Look at Wood, Westwood and Greenwood? Which of the Trio really looks like a football Player? Well..... correct Answer has said itself with a Brace and scintillating Performance.

Be honest with yourself, how many times have you sat down to see Matches like Burnley vs Westbrom? We're following EPL because of Top 6 Clubs. We're following UCL because of Real, Barca, Juventus and Co. It's just Bayern that gonna be missed, rest German Clubs are non existence.

Super League has come to stay. Can't wait to have PES2022 or FIFA2022 exclusively for Super League.
That's the reason you kind are called Plastic fans. Glory hunters who thinks football revolves only around the top teams.

So explain how the premier league will function and it's pyramid table? What happens to the top4 at the end of the season? If Liverpool/Tottenham finishes 20th who gets relegated? Why would the top6 team take the league seriously when it it has no significance at the end of the season?

This is on another planet from american sports and people need to stop being so ignorant about it. NBA and NFL have revenue sharing and purposeful talent distribution to make the worse teams better and enable every team to compete. Yes, it is not without its own issues. But salary caps and drafts keep leagues constantly competitive barring some sort of superstar being so dominant that there is still nothing to stop them (Brady, Lebron, etc). Even then, the Warriors got better through the draft. It is nothing even close to or comparable to the proposed Superleague or to any domestic pyramid.

You obviously don’t know what you are talking about. Have you asked yourself why few players dominate major industries in every economy? Go and read up on stuffs about oligopolies in developed countries. Some corporations dominate key industries and swallow small players through acquisitions so they can play their games. The government find it difficult to oppose or sanction them.

Meanwhile, I don’t know why anyone should fret over this. Go check Forbes’ top 50 most valuable sports teams in the world, American clubs dominate the list, with just 7 non-American clubs.

Adopting the American model will help dilute the list and ensure that minimum of 20 UK and European clubs are on the list by 2023/2024. Also, more money for the UK, the club’s revenues and profits will increase significantly, resulting in higher earnings by the government. Of course, they’ll continue to have inflows from other (lower) leagues.

Change is constant, emotional stuffs will only delay stuffs. But then, time is money!
Stop typing bollocks. This is honestly worse than the NBA or the NFL. None of that American bull.shit here.

That was simply the way their model of sporting competition was designed from the beginning. And even then they have more teams across the country, a well developed and well funded scheme/culture that allows the sport to flourish at amateur, grassroots, youth, college level, and even built-in albeit flawed systems to ensure some form of meritocracy and checks and balances, whether between shareholders and players or between teams.

In this case the 13 richest teams literally chose to conspire and kill off an existing system of thousands of teams and doom them to literal subservience for the sole purpose of adding more money to their already extraordinarily rich pockets.

Abeg show me where it is written in the Uncodified constitution of the united kingdom that these clubs have committed a crime, sentiments isn't law

Even the queen self can't do shit, know how much uk economy gains every year from premier league teams 7.8 billion

Players and clubs paid 3.3 billion in taxes per year

How much the Monarchy dey make a year for uk government from tourism and land renting?

Premier league is their biggest export and those clubs are it's biggest draw, people around the world care about them and they know it
If you know nothing about how things work in the U.k then make you research. It isn't like the US where the Constitution protects property rights. In the UK, the Parliament is sovereign and can do anything it wants through the passage of an Act of Parliament. If they consider the superleague an illegitimate league which will affect the good of the nation they can stop all the big6 clubs from breaking out. This isn't really an issue, it would fly through parliament and have cross-party support. Will United,City, Chelsea etc move away from Britain? No
