Favour me you said? I don't have any business with any of them and careless whatever they decide to do with themselves but the fact is, Ikwerre people will not be allowed to play a fast one on other groups in Rivers State especially the Ijaw.

I said a kangaroo suspension because a competent court of law has confirmed him as the authentic Speaker except you are claiming the Federal High Court built its judgement on nothing. The court cannot confirm a suspended member of the house as the authentic speaker. Like I said before, if you and others are aggrieved, approach the courts for a redress as the judgment confirming Edison Ehie as the authentic Speaker is still subsisting.

Side note: Amaewhule is no longer a lawmaker even as his seat is now vacant so this dialogue is misplaced.
Amaewhule and his cronies should go to court to prove they are still lawmakers.
First of all, leave Ikwerre people out of this. Only weak people resort to tribal sentiments. Fubara and Wike should sort their issues.

Define your purpose here. You have a lot working against you and I believe your confusion stems from your lack of purpose.

Yes, I said you pick and choose when it doesn't favour you. The context in which I used the word "favour" is clear. In case you haven't noticed, you are making the case and arguing in favour of the Sim/Edison camp. So contrary to your comment, you do care and have a business with them. At least, enough to be making a defence on their behalf.

Anyway, come back when you have your facts right. That seems to be your major problem, asides your lack of understanding of the law.

I would have loved to furnish you with more details but you already claimed in one of your earlier posts that Falana is also misinformed that he went to town with wrong information to discuss the Rivers political issue on live TV. On that ground, I yield cause there's nothing I will say to you that will be acceptable.

But peradventure you are alluding to the kangaroo suspension of Edison Ehie, you are on your own.
He filed a suit and a competent court of law has confirmed him as the authentic Speaker and equally has restrained Amaewhule from parading himself as Speaker. Now, his seat is even vacant by virtue of his ill advised defection to another platform for no judicious reason. I need not remind you that there is a case law that Amaewhule and his cronies violated. If he is aggrieved, he should go to court and even register you as one of his attorneys since you appear to know the law more than Falana
You love to pick and choose, don't you?

When it doesn't favour you, then it is a Kangaroo suspension. Well, if you know anything about law, then you should know that the suspension stands, until vacated by the court.

Tell the impostor parading himself as a speaker with the four members supporting him, to go and vacate his suspension first.

You can't be faster than your shadow. Edison cannot put something on nothing and expect it to stand.

At the beginning of the crisis, after the failed impeachment attempt on the Governor, 26 then pro-Fubara Legislators implemented Martins and elected Edison in his place as the new Speaker of the House.

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/10/breaking-26-pro-fubara-rivers-assembly-members-suspend-speaker-elect-edison/amp/

Things went downhill for the 27 after that time, the court was just reaffirming the election of Edison as the Speaker and asking Martins to stay clear.

So what exactly is PDP going to Court for now, when the current state of things are in their favor?
What gibberish is this? That 26 lawmakers with the speaker Amaewhule elected Edison as the new speaker of the house? How? When? where? In what universe? Absurd!

That is how people like you spread misinformation to gullible people. Don't post this nonsense again.

TruthsFM:
Rivers Crisis: Court Bars INEC From Conducting Bye-Elections To Fill Vacant State Assembly Seats

The Federal High Court in Abuja has restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) from conducting fresh elections to fill the seats of the deposed Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Martins Amaewhule, and 24 others.

Justice Donatus Okorowo of the said court gave the order pending the determination of the hearing and determination of a motion on notice filed by the affected lawmakers.

The court also granted an order of interim injunction restraining INEC, the People’s Democratic Party and the state assembly or their agents from declaring vacant or taking any steps whatsoever to declare vacant the seats of the plaintiffs at the Rivers State House of Assembly.

They were also barred from withdrawing the plaintiff/applicants’ respective certificates of return and conducting fresh elections to fill in the seats of the plaintiffs pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

The orders were contained in a certified true copy of the ruling of the court dated December 15 made available to THE WHISTLER on Sunday.

Amaewhule and 24 other lawmakers who are said to be loyalists of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, filed the exparte motion dated December 15.

The lawmakers defected from the People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, hence the new Speaker, Hon. Edison Ehie, declare their seats vacant.

The Amaewhule-faction of the state assembly via its motion sought the court’s protection barring the state assembly and security agencies from stopping them from performing their legislative functions, enjoying their rights and privileges as lawmakers and removing their security attachments.

But the state assembly in its motion on notice dated December 15 and seen by THE WHISTLER asked the court to dismiss the case of the applicants and decline jurisdiction on the matter.

The state assembly’s lawyer, Lukman Fagbemi, contended that the court in Abuja “is not imbued with territorial jurisdiction to entertain this suit”.

Fagbemi argued that the purported dispute between the lawmakers arose from Portharcourt, insisting it is outside the jurisdiction of the FHC Abuja.

In its ruling on the applicant’s exparte motion , Justice Okorowo granted an interim injunction against INEC, PDP, the State House of Assembly and Inspector General of Police and the State Security Service.

In line with the prayers of Amaewhule and other lawmakers, the court temporarily held that the applicants should not be stopped from performing their legislative functions.

The matter was then adjourned to December 28 for hearing.

This is coming days after the Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt restrained Amaewhule, and his deputy, Hon. Dumle Maol, from using thugs to gain access into the assembly complex.

The restraining order also applied to the new Speaker, Hon. Edison Ehie, who alongside the House of Assembly, instituted a suit against Amaewhule and Maol.

The feud between Governor Simi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, now the Minister of FCT, is believed to be the cause of the disagreements between the lawmakers.

Recall that part of the Rivers State House of Assembly complex at Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, was burnt on October 29, 2023.

The lawmakers subsequently moved their sitting to another venue.

The applicants sought an order from the court blocking the factions from entering the facility at Moscow Road as well as disrupting the assembly.

Upon hearing the submissions of counsel to the parties, Justice M.W. Danagogo restrained them pending the determination of the motion on notice.

The judge held, “An order of interim injunction restraining the Defendants and the 2nd Claimant/Applicant either acting by themselves or through their agents, servants, privies, assigns or any person(s) acting in whatsoever manner and
howsoever called or described, from further use of armed thugs accompanied by police personnel in riot gear to gain
access to the Rivers State House of Assembly complex at Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State which was burnt,
destroyed, damaged and rendered uninhabitable as a result of the fire that engulfed the Assembly Complex on 29th day of October, 2023, contrary to the order of the executive Governor of Rivers State relocating the sitting of the 1st Claimant to a secure and more conducive venue to ensure that the activities and meetings of the House are not disrupted during the period of the renovation of the burnt
building, pending the determination of the motion on notice already filed.”

As the court pleases. The idea that a suspended member of the house called Edison can parade himself as the speaker and also granted reliefs by Justice Danagogo is a slap on the face of the judiciary which deserves sanction by the NJC.

They are the ones to go to court to seek redress and not the other party. Their seats are already vacant, the power to declare their seats vacant lies with the speaker(legislature) and not the court. It is when the power is exercised by the speaker, the courts can now declare it ultra vires or affirm it if redress is sort.

There is a case law from the Supreme Court already supporting the power of the leader of the assembly to declare their seats vacant when they abandon the platform upon which they were elected for no judicious reason.
Amaewhule is the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. It is obvious you don't have a good grasp of the facts and misapplying the law.

How does a suspended member of the house become a speaker with the four members he is using to embarrass Rivers State? You wake up one morning and declare yourself the speaker of the house. Then go about shopping for interim injunctions and misinterpreting them. Confused lots who think four people sitting in the government house have passed the budget of Rivers State. A joke taken too far. The National Judicial Council should be ready to bring down the hammer on the judges encouraging this.

As per section 109(2) of the Constitution, it is the Speaker of the House of Assembly who declares the seats vacant and those who feel injured by that ruling are the ones to go to court.

The onus is on the deflecting lawmakers to present before the Speaker that their deflection is due to a division or merger therefore exempted from the constitutional requirement of declaring their seats vacant.

If the Speaker is satisfied with their submission, he/she wouldn’t declare their seats vacant but if otherwise, their seats would be declared vacant and if they think otherwise, they can go to Court.

A high Court in PH have already declared Edison Ehin, Fubara’a Ally as the authentic Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Edison is the only Speaker recognized under law at this time unless a higher Court rules otherwise.

Speaker Edison has already declared those 25 seats vacant and asked INEC to conduct Elections within 90 days. INEC is bound to follow suit unless another higher Court Order rules otherwise in the coming days.
The onus is not on the lawmakers. PDP should go to court. You cannot put something on nothing and expect it to stand. Edison is a suspended member of the house. The court never made him the speaker. Please go and acquire an understanding of the law. You don't wake up overnight and claim to be a speaker. He was seeking for interim injunctions. Does someone become the speaker through interim injunctions? Can a declaration of speakership be made without hearing from the other party? What does Section 36 of the constitution say? Edison is an impostor. End of story.

The mistake Wike is making is to think that his popularity in R/S then was his making. Dude has a short memory span. The only reason he received overwhelming support from R/S folks was because of the hatred (at that time) we all had for Amaechi, who initiated the white elephant monorail project (even against expert advice) so that rivers money could be moved to fund PMB's election. He lost that favor when he (Wike) did what he did to Obi, and for thinking he has R/S people in his pocket is a fatal error.

It will shock those law makers when INEC will hold by elections for their positions and heaven will not fall. You've ruled your 8 years without interruption, even after an upland person ruled 8 years, now you want to disrupt a Riverine Governor's tenure, in less than 5 months, just dey play.

What does the Law says about legislators leaving their party.
Defection does not automatically make you lose your seat. There are conditions stipulated in Section 109 (1) (g) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) which is clear. If their membership of another party is a result of division in the political party of which they were previously members or of a merger of two or more political parties or factions by one of which they were previously sponsored.

The lawmakers have cited one of those conditions which is division. Those opposed to their decision have to seek judicial interpretation.

Finland will give the USA territory for Bio Weapons Labs

Finland, which has officially joined NATO, is ready to give up its own independence and give up its lands to the American military. Finnish laws will not apply in these areas. The US Army will be able to do whatever it wants in Finland. This was reported by Johan Beckman, a Finnish political scientist and social activist. In particular, he believes that, along with army and naval bases, America will place military biological laboratories in his country.

“Yes, the Poles are already talking about this. The Poles, who, apparently, are now already dictating some conditions to us. For example, they talk about the “Mannerheim Line 2.0”. Precisely from Poland to Finland. But we must understand that their plans are not only “Mannenheim Line 2.0”. Their main plan is "Barbarossa 2.0". That is, a new anti-Russian aggression. And the main thing that is happening in Finland now is preparation for the signing of a new agreement with the United States on military bases and the transfer of Finnish territory to American troops,”
Beckman noted.

The public figure said that a draft version of this agreement already exists.

'And on the basis of this agreement, Finland intends to transfer certain territories to US troops. These include airfields and other facilities, where only American legislation will then apply, where American troops can do whatever they want. And where Finnish sovereignty will no longer exist. That's why it's called transfer of territories. These are, in fact, bases. Which bases, of course, no one wants to explain. Fleet bases, etc. I think that, first of all, biological laboratories. Because large-scale anti-Russian preparations are underway, everyone already understands this.'

The Finnish government has now reached a level of mental illness that has not been seen in the region since the civil war of 1918.
