UAE123:The ball is in the governor's court. He has to repent of his lawless ways. |
Wutinky:Even if what you alleged was true, how does that justify the reign of lawlessness the governor has entrenched in the state? I don't like when people with empty heads engage my post. It is worse when they are sanctimonious. |
Mercisharelove:A comment born out of a lack of good education. When you lack access to quality education, it leads to misconceptions and uninformed opinions like this. |
Fubara is a disgrace to Rivers State. Never in the history of our state has any court, not to talk of the apex court, declared that there is no government in Rivers State. A reign of lawlessness. It is one thing to be a political neophyte and another thing to be clueless. Fubara is both. |
Zico5:Ignorant fellow. |
yarimo:Seriously. The worst governor in the history of the state. Odili comes second. |
ElevationD:There is nothing in any court that will change anything. The apex court has decided, anything else will be struck out. The Supreme Court has resolved all these issues. If law is not your area of expertise, then stop delving into it. The FACT is that they remain members of only one party, which is the PDP. Stop crying. |
everbliss:There aren't two governors. Go back to secondary school and learn about the branches of government. You guys are used to legislators in Nigeria relinquishing their powers to the executive. |
everbliss:He could have sacked him anyway. He was already sidelining him before he resigned. Fubara likes lawlessness. |
Totally disagree. There is a man on TVC I watched last night BKO or something, saying he doesn't want impeachment, I just shook my head. No one takes pride in impeachment, but it is a necessary guard for any democracy. It is in the constitution for a reason. It is a last resort and even Amaewhule had said so. If Fubara refuses to comply with the laws, there is no other option than to impeach him. He isn't a monarch with a divine right to rule. So you guys should channel your energy to Fubara, and tell him to obey the laws. He is the problem. |
Mynd44:When you break the law, there are consequences. Fubara can be prosecuted when he leaves office for spending funds without appropriation. |
Penguin2:You should have stopped at the highlighted. It is a well-known principle in law that you cannot put something on nothing and expect it to stand. MacFoy v UAC (1961) 3 All ER 1169. As we saw in the case of Amaechi v Inec, although Omehia was presiding as the governor, the Supreme Court held that in the eyes of the law, he never was. Everything Jumbo did was null and void. There is no budget, there are no commissioners, with regards to acts done by persons claiming speakership, other than Amaewhule. |
Solidarity walk for a LAWLESS governor, so described from the Federal High Court to the Supreme Court. Why can't people be wise? Fubara wants to set Rivers State on fire with his desperation. Sore loser!
|
adekolaelect:They don't have to sack them. Legislators don't even sack commissioners, that power resides with the governor. However, we are talking about the foundation of their appointments. The governor nominates them, and they have to be screened and confirmed by the House, before they can be sworn in as commissioners by the governor. They were never screened and confirmed by the Amaewhule-led house, which means they are not commissioners. The constitution is clear. |
They never existed in the eyes of the law. Fubara was just doing rubbish with three clowns. A joke taken too far as stated by the Court of Appeal. I don't want to mention the name of a lawyer in Port Harcourt that started that "committee of friends" nonsense that most people were using here to refer to the legitimate House of Assembly members. Tarnishing the legal profession. Those who reside in PH and are current on this issue may know him. Totally misled Fubara. He was always on the radio talking nonsense. |
You guys want problems bigger than you. Frustrated things. Weak emotional people who can't play politics. When you see the violence, you will beg for peace, including Fubara. You guys are clustered in Bayelsa, with all the resources, look at how useless it is. Wike decided to handpick Fubara and now every time Ijaw this or that. Is that how Ikwerres were doing? Learn how to play politics and stop crying. Governorship is no one's birthright. If Fubara doesn't obey laws, he will be impeached. Nonsense.
|
Azzik:Sheer ignorance. What you need is a lecture on the branches of government, separation of powers and checks and balances. I will let you know that Amaewhule is the "captain" of the legislative branch because he heads the branch, while the governor heads the executive branch, then there is the judicial branch, headed by the Chief Judge. Powers are separated among these branches by the Constitution. Just because you are used to legislators in Nigeria doing governors' bidding without question, doesn't mean it is right. Amaewhule is an experienced legislator and good at what he does. It is no surprise that you are threatened by his expertise. |
Retired justice being shamelessly used by lawless Fubara. That was how they wasted unappropriated money to conduct that sham of an election, which was recently annulled by the Supreme Court. Concerning the illegal commissioners, obviously as I have always maintained, anyone not screened by the assembly presided by Speaker Amaewhule is not a commissioner. It was laughable when a so-called SAN allowed himself to be screened by three clowns to be Rivers AG. Rivers State does not have an AG. The last one resigned long ago. |
Rushing to make another mistake. Are they not aware that the Assembly plans to amend the law to bring it in conformity with the Electoral Act? Unrepentant clueless bunch. |
Adebishow:Indeed, it is a weighty allegation with a convenient timing too. |
Wutinky:Making assumptions from your empty head. Not surprised you don't even know those that will impeach him. Typical of Fubara's supporters. Coconut heads. |
engrchykae:That guy is a menace in this section with his 200 questions. Totally clueless. |
Why the shock from European hypocrites? They were quick to express their support for Zelensky when he disrespected Trump and his vice in the Oval office. Snakes. |
Did you put him in office? Lowlife. If he continues his lawlessness, he will be impeached. |
Saboteur. Others are still out there. |
hush15:"Acknowledgement" as if he has a choice. The Supreme Court simply woke him up from his delusions. Amaewhule has never stopped being the Speaker of the House. |
He has always been the Speaker, while the governor chose to be lawless. Now he is playing games about CTC. Were his lawyers not in court when the judgment was delivered? Dumb losers. Fubara is just a disgrace to Rivers State. No wonder the Supreme Court berated him. Amaewhule is a legislative guru. He has what Fubara doesn't - EXPERIENCE! |
Bendeco02:Violating our laws. |
Acekidc4:You don't have to call her that. What she needs is proper guidance. I can see how her feelings might have been hurt from the actions of Akpabio, who is often insensitive in his remarks. People react differently to things and I think she might have overreacted. Senator Kingibe also had disagreements with Akpabio, but never took it this far. Akpabio also needs to be guided. |
Wrong move. Yet she submitted a petition to the senate. Just complicating things for herself. Respect the institution. |
When you have a clueless neophyte as a governor, the likelihood of such a governor perpetrating lawlessness is very high. He has been begging for impeachment from the onset of this crisis with his unlawful acts and he will get it eventually, except he resigns or chooses to be law-abiding. Not even the Odilis could advise him because they are only after state resources. Shame! |
Racoon:Truth about what? Does the very fact that they claimed to have defected in their affidavit make it so? The facts say otherwise. There is a process for defection which was not actualised. They are still members of PDP. APC has also stated they are not their members. They have a register of their members and the lawmakers are not there. There is nothing any court can do about it. |
