A man shocked people both online and offline with his infamous technique after he was busted for stealing a live chicken.

The man who was apprehended by some villagers after stealing the chicken was forced to bring it out after neatly concealing it in his trouser to beat detection. 

In a video currently making the rounds on social media, the man can be heard being told to bring out the chicken which he surprisingly produced after unzipping his trouser. 

The man brought out the poultry animal to the shock of those around who wondered how he hid it.

The video has gone viral since it was posted online.

Three suspected robbers have been burnt to death in Uruk Usung in Obot Akara Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

They were said to be terrorising residents of the area before they were caught and killed by an angry mob.

The deceased believed to be in their late 20s, were arrested after an operation and set ablaze the mob.

The issue of jungle justice seems to be on the rise in Akwa Ibom state following series of killings of criminal suspects by mob. 

It was earlier reported that a young man in his early 30s was burnt to death by youths at Urua Ekpa Junction, Uyo, while allegedly trying to escape with a stolen motorcycle. 

It was gathered that the unidentified victim was a serial motorcycle thief, terrorising the area.

A hotel receptionist has been apprehended for allegedly stealing from a Europe based man in Benin city, Edo state.

The suspect was said to have carried the act just one week after his employment at the hotel as he targeted the man who just arrived from Europe and lodged at the hotel. 

It was gathered that the suspect entered the man's room when he was not around and stole his laptop, iPads, phones and also 1000 Euro before he fled and told the hotel manager that he has quit his job as a receptionist. 

When the Europe based man came back and found out that his properties have been stolen, he notified the police who tracked down the suspect and arrested him.

After his arrest, the suspect who was imprisoned in 2011 for robbery and cultism, claimed he wanted to return the stolen items before he was arrested. 

He said that he's an orphan and the madam that accommodated him chased him out of the house after he impregnated her 17-year-old daughter.

The suspect said he couldn't resist sleeping with the girl due to the "green light" she gave him as he took advantage of the situation and had sex with her multiple times.

The teenage girl later got pregnant and her mother forced her to abort it. The suspect was later asked to leave the house. 

The suspect who is currently in police custody made some confessions and would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

An unarmed man was allegedly killed by army officials following a communal clash in Delta. It was gathered that other victims were also shot dead by soldiers during the clash between Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja communities in Udu and Warri South-West Local Government Areas of Delta State.

The victims were allegedly killed by the soldiers sent there to stop the communal clash, according to reports.

The boundary dispute between Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja communities flared up again recently as the Ijaw community of Ogbe-Ijoh alleged that they were attacked by Aladja.

Chairman of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Ogbe-Ijoh clan, Smart Okosu, alleged that the Aladja militia launched an attack on Ogbe-Ijoh, and took away the Egbesu flags from the Ijaw controlled areas at about 11:00a.m.

Fresh reports filtering in from Abuja has it that police officers are currently clashing with workers at the head office of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

The policemen have also escorted Usman Yusuf, NHIS executive secretary who was suspended last week, into his office.

Yusuf had kicked against his suspension by the NHIS governing board, saying he would resume work on Monday.

But the NHIS workers union had threatened to lock him out of office.

However, as early as about 7am on Monday, the worker’s locked the entrance gate, amid heavy security presence.

Yusuf arrived at 8:30am, gained entry into the premises  with the aid of the policemen. He and was accompanied to his office.

Policemen on ground also teargassed the workers in the ensuing fracas.

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was mobbed by excited Nigerians most especially pro-Biafra members as he took to the streets of Jerusalem shortly after his broadcast this evening. 

In multiple videos posted online, the excited supporters surrounded the IPOB leader as they posed for pictures in the foreign land and even prayed for him to lay their hands on them. 

The IPOB leader, was recently sighted in Jerusalem, in a video that surfaced on social media, after months of uncertainty surrounding his whereabouts.

Nnamdi Kanu was last seen in public in September 2017 after a raid on his country home in Abia State by the army, shortly after his release from prolonged detention on charges of treason.

Meanwhile, Nnamdi Kanu, has vowed not to return to the federal high court in Abuja where he was standing trial before he left the country.

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, was recently sighted in Jerusalem, in a video that surfaced on social media, after months of uncertainty surrounding his whereabouts.

Nnamdi Kanu was last seen in public in September 2017 after a raid on his country home in Abia State by the army, shortly after his release from prolonged detention on charges of treason.

In a live broadcast from Israel on Sunday (today), the IPOB leader thanked members of the group all over the world for standing by him. He said it's because of IPOB members that he's alive and he appreciates them.  

He said Africa is nothing without Biafra and that he made a promise to God when he was in prison that Biafra must come to pass no matter what.  He also said that many IPOB members have sacrificed their lives in the Biafran struggle as Israel sacrificed many lives before God restored them after 40 years. 

He also said he prays for IPOB seven times everyday and God is his witness. 

The IPOB leader said that he is currently in Israel and Biafra must come to pass because people are suffering and the leaders are doing nothing about that.

Kanu said after his bail from Prison last year, the government was trying to cage him with many conditions for his release but he refused. He said the president of Nigeria, 'Jibril of APC' sent his killers to wipe out his family, himself and his entire community in Abia. He said there was no justification for the military raid because he was preparing to go to court in Abuja before the military invaded him home.

He said that he is Nnamdi Kanu and that no mortal flesh can kill him ('they have not given birth to that person') and the government has failed to keep him quiet with their injustice. 

He said he feels for Nigerians in the middle belt and he wishes they can join IPOB to liberate themselves. 

He also said that all those that carried out the raid on his community last year and their collaborators will be brought to justice. He said anyone that sheds the blood of one single Biafran member will pay dearly for it. 

He also thanked the non IPOB members who condemned the attack on his community. The IPOB leader also blasted governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu who he claimed sanctioned the military invasion on his home and collaborated in the proscription of the group. 

He also mentioned some personalities whom he thanked for standing by him including the immediate past governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose and senator Abaribe among others. 

He said that he never jumped bail and that his unavailability is due to the lies and wickedness peddled by the government against him because they are afraid of him and IPOB.

He said their intention was to kill him because they know if he goes to court the country will not be the same. He said they didn't want him to prove his innocence but Nigeria can't jail him because he will seriously fight the case. 

He said he is not a Nigerian but a Biafran because he renounced the country in 2015. 

He said he has committed no offence at all and what they are charging him with does not exist and he's not a terrorist and that IPOB would not relent and participate in any election until a referendum is conducted. He said IPOB are civilised people and the Biafran struggle is not negotiable.

A young man has been killed by unknown assailants who attacked him days ago in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital. 

It was gathered that the deceased identified as Gaston Godswill, a 200-level student of the Department of Marketing, University of Uyo, was ambushed and beaten to death after going missing for about three days. 

His disappearance was announced online as efforts to locate him was in progress before he was found dead with bruises all over his body, according to reports.

His corpse has been deposited at a mortuary as his friends and colleagues have taken to Facebook to mourn the loss. 

One of his friends, Miranda Nya, wrote; 

Bestie I can't believe this, you actually left without a word, this is unbelievable and it's also unbearable, who I'm I going to scold, how will I remind you now of ABAS, I can't stop the tears OMG............. Rest on bestie..

 Another colleague identified as Shuga Aela wrote; 

Someone should please wake me up Gaston y now,am trying hard to believe that all dis news is a lie but have call and your number is off.kindly get up from that place cos we really have a lot 2 talk about.am sorry I wasn't there wen you needed someone 2 talk and lean on. RIP dearest....

A young man was found hanging dead by a high tension pole while allegedly attempting to steal electric wire in Makera Housing estate along Daura road in Katsina state earlier today.

The deceased was reportedly found dead hanging on the pole by residents of the area early morning of Friday.

It is believed that the suspect met his death as a result of power transmission by the Power Holding Company at around 4am .

Already, men of the Police force in the state had taken the corpse of the deceased for further investigation.

No family has claimed the body of the deceased as at the time of filing this report.

This comes barely 2 months after another man was found death while trying to steal transformer parts in the same area.

Two more corpses have been recovered following a boat mishap which happened along Kalio ama river in Rivers state. According to reports, a splash passport boat, sank a canoe boat carrying a man, woman and a 13-year-old boy coming back from fishing on Wednesday, October 17th.

It was gathered that the Splash boat was on top speed before the tragedy along the river.

One body was found yesterday 18th Oct 2018, since then search for the remaining two bodies had be on.

However, the remaining two bodies have found by search team.

The Edo State Police Command on Tuesday paraded 72 armed robbery, cultism and kidnapping suspects, who have been terrorising Benin metropolis over the past few weeks.

Speaking to journalists in Benin on the arrest of the suspects, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Johnson Kokumo, said 58 cult members linked to the killings of eight persons in different locations in the state were among those paraded.

"There was heightened criminal activity viz cultism by rival cult groups: the , Eiye, Black Mafians, Vikings within the period 11th and 14th October, 2018, which led to death of eight persons.

"The police quickly moved in and restored normalcy. 39 arms, 54 cartridges, three battle axes and five fake drinks were recovered from the 72 suspects.

Kokomu gave break down of the suspects to include one Sampson Omorodion, 34, who was arrested for allegedly killing his younger brother, named Imuetiyan Omorodion aged 27, by stabbing him twice on the neck with a knife after an argument between them.

"On October 10, this year, the Command arrested two kidnappers at Five Junction for allegedly kidnapping a 36-year-old lady at Ugbowo area of Benin city," he added.

The Police boss reiterated the need for citizens to be vigilant at all times and to report any suspicious activity to the police for prompt attention, assuring that the state was unsafe for criminals.

One of the suspected cultists, who is a member of Eiye Confratenity, identified as Azuka Ike, said he joined the cult few years ago and has remained a member but was arrested in Delta State when he fled Edo State, following the renewed fracas with rival cult group.

A man has lost his wife and three children in a fire outbreak which occurred on Monday at Bosso metropolitan area, few kilometres outside the state capital, Minna, Niger state.

It was gathered that the inferno was caused by a strong electricity power surge from the public power grid to the area which sparked off fire on the house where the victims were accommodated.

The resultant fire according to those living in the immediate neighborhood, was so overwhelming as the fire spread and engulfed the house before assistance could reach those trapped inside the apartment.

According to reports, spirited efforts to fight the fire were unsuccessful as the apartment was secured with the occupants trapped inside while access into the house was hindered by the surging fire.

When help finally came, the fire had killed four members of the family, roasting them alive and left other members of the household with various decrees of burns as they narrowly escaped death.

The lucky survivors were rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of the Minna General Hospital where they were admitted and are undergoing treatment.

Yesterday, it was reported that the residents of Amassoma community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State are lamenting over massive flood that has ravaged most parts of their region and also the issue of snakes invading their homes.

A new video has emerged showing a dog being removed from a dead python after the reptile swallowed the domestic animal last week, according to Facebook user, Audu Nasiru.

The villagers were left shocked as the dog was being removed from the slain python. 

It was reported that the snakes are now invading the residences of the villages most especially hiding in the ceiling in the flooded area.

It was gathered that many snakes have been killed in the community withing a short period.
