The suspect, Pastor Okoroafor, who was reluctant to respond to questions put to him by newsmen, said he was tempted by the devil.

“I don’t know what came over me. It was the handiwork of the devil. I am just begging for forgiveness from the families,” he said.

According to the police, “We discovered that the Pastor was having an amorous affair with one of the deceased, Uloma. “The Pastor manipulated the two women on the 10th of December by first luring Concila to an uncompleted building and killed her there.

“After strangulating the late Concilia, he then took Uloma with Christabel in a tricycle to an isolated farm at Igberu road and gruesomely murdered her in the surrounding overgrown Bush with the baby strapped to her back.

“She was suffocated with the wrapper she used in strapping the baby yo her back.”

Police say the suspect will be charged to court next week, and that his church, located Izuoma-Afam in Oyigbo Local Government area has been sealed.

Police authorities in Rivers state have paraded the Senior Pastor of a new generation church, Alter of Grace Ministries, Pastor Chidiebere Okoroafor who was arrested for allegedly killing three people, including two pregnant women and an infant in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The bodies of the woman and her daughter were recovered alongside that of the third victim, Olumma Onweagba within the premises of the church, Alter of Grace Ministries near Izuom market in Oyigbo.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Pastor Okoroafor had impregnated Olumma Onwaagba who until her death was a member of the church choir.

It was gathered that the detained Pastor allegedly pressured his victim to terminate the pregnancy which she refused.

It was gathered that Olumma’s refusal to terminate the pregnancy led to her death and that of those who knew about the scandal.

On the 22nd of February, 2017 at about 1510hrs, a four man gang of armed robbers trailed a bank customer to the Wetheral Road branch of Zenith Bank Plc Owerri Imo State and unleashed attack within the bank premises. The hoodlums shot sporadically and exchanged gunfire with the three police personnel posted on duty at the bank from 18PMF Squadron Owerri.

In the ensuing gunfire, one of the armed bandits later known and identified as IkechukwuOkpara ‘m’ was shot dead by F/No. 375253 SgtChukwudiIboko. The three police personnel sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Owerri and the Nigeria Police Hospital Owerri for treatment in a coordinated medical emergency midwifed by the Command Medical Officer SP (Dr.) Bose Salami.

Unfortunately, F/No. 375253 Sgt ChukwudiIboko and F/No. 390643 Sgt Sunday Agbo died on 23rdof February, 2017 from gunshot injuries received during the armed robbery encounter while receiving treatment at the hospital. The third police personnel F/No. 426788 SgtOtuAttang survived by the Grace of the Almighty God and the diligence and professionalism of the Medical team managing him made up of Dr. Chukwumam Dennis - Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Mba - General Surgeon, Dr. AmakobiAristole – Opthalmologistand Dr. Kalu - Anaesthetist.

In the course of investigation, three of the armed robbery suspects were arrested namely:
i. Justice Ogbonna ‘m’ aged 36yrs aka “JJ”
ii. Abiye Charles ‘m’
iii. OkechukwuNwanegbo ‘m’ aka “MODESTUS”

The following exhibits were also recovered

It's a sad moment for villagers in Rimawa, Goronyo local government area of Sokoto State following a boat tragedy which saw 13 children killed. According to reports, the accident happened on Tuesday, February 20. The dead eenage children have been laid to rest according to Islamic rites.

While Nigerians are looking for ways to stop animals such as snakes and monkeys from swallowing millions of Naira, a retired police officer is on a 'manhunt for the animal that swallowed his housing entitlement'. According to the former policeman, Salisu M. Dansarai, five years after leaving the Nigerian police force - he is yet to receive his housing refund.

The Rapid Response Squad has shared shocking images showing what happens to drivers and road users after alcohol consumption in a bid to reduce the rate of road accidents. The unit shared the pictures in order to urge citizens to be careful when enjoying themselves and driving due to increase in the numbers of accidents on Friday and Saturday nights and early morning.

Few weeks ago, two friends who were driving through Awolowo in Front of Alausa Secretariat, very early on Saturday from Fela Shrine had an accident. Their vehicle left its lane, crossed the median to the other lane only to be stopped by kerb.

While the driver after the accident adjusted his seat and slept off, his friend in the passenger’s seat tried to escape the scene. He was chased and arrested by RRS officers stationed close to the accident point.

Also, few months ago, three RRS officers on night patrol on a Friday were put in near death circumstance by a drunken driver coming from 3rd Mainland Bridge just after Ogudu. They survived with several permanent scars but their vehicle was outright wreckage.

Recently, Tade, drunk and driving on 3rd Mainland Bridge had to be guided to a stop by RRS riders on night patrol who sensed danger with the manner the vehicle was swerving and hugging the road.

Already, he had badly damaged a Nissan car and didn’t stop. One of the riders, had to drive the vehicle to RRS Headquarters in Alausa, where Tade was brought out of his Lexus 300 completely drunk and not responding to questions. His wife was contacted as she came late in the night to drive him home.

This is quite unfortunate. A mother and her four children were burnt to death following midnight fire outbreak at their residence in Maiduguri, Borno state capital. According to an online report, the fire outbreak was said to have been caused from a burning mosquito coil.

Twitter user Dan Borno who shared the sad and graphic pictures online said that people should be sensitized on how to make use of mosquito coils..

A man has reportedly killed himself after allegedly attacking his wife with a machete in Delta state. The wife identified as Evangelist Mrs Promise was seriously injured and is currently laying critically at the intensive care unit of the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba after her husband allegedly inflicted injuries on her with a machete on Monday evening.

According to reports, the woman returned from a journey that evening, little did she know that the husband had prepared to kill her. As soon as she entered their room the man allegedly attacked her with the machete.

The son then alerted the neighbours who reported the case to the police..

Police later arrived the scene only to meet the man on the floor. He was said to have used the same machete to kill himself.

His corpse has been deposited in an undisclosed mortuary.

Two kidnappers who allegedly kidnapped a 4-year-old boy in Kano state - have been apprehended by police. The suspected kidnappers allegedly abducted the child at Dorayi area of Kano metropolis. The suspects identified as Jabir Usman Sule and Bashir Aminu popularly known as Karsan, demanded for two-million naira (N2m) as ransom from the parents of the abducted child.

It was gathered that the suspects handed the letter in which they made their demand for N2m ransom to the immediate elder brother of the abducted child who later identified them thus leading to their arrest.

The duo were arrested on February 11, 2018 by the police and the victim rescued at the resident of the ward head of Dorayi where the kidnappers deposited him after they had demanded for the ransom.

Nigerian Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua commonly referred to as T. B. Joshua the leader and founder of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) on Friday arrived in the Zimbabwean capital Harare for a day's visit on what has been described as a 'private visit'.

Joshua who until now was banned from the country after what were seen as "false" prophecies against former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe.

He paid a courtesy call on Vice-President Kembo Mohadi and Minister of Scholarships Dr Christopher Mushohwe.

Acting Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Minister Simon Khaya Moyo told The Sunday Mail that President Mnangagwa could not meet the prophet as he had other commitments.

"We understand some people are spreading false information that we snubbed TB Joshua. I want to make it clear that the President did not snub TB Joshua, he is not a snubber."

On his itinerary were also meetings with 'spiritual sons' including Zimbabwean prophet Walter Magaya among others.

After landing at Robert Mugabe International Airport aboard a private jet, TB Joshua went to a local hotel, where a number of people were lined up for private discussions with the televangelist.

His visit is believed to have been organised by Brandme International executive director Mrs Josey Mahachi-Agbeniyi, who told The Sunday Mail that Prophet TB Joshua will hold a crusade in Zimbabwe soon.

Mrs Mahachi-Agbeniyi confirmed this, "He just wanted to see Zimbabwe. For someone at his level, he would not do so without paying a courtesy call on Government officials. Unfortunately, when he was available, the President had other engagements. He (the prophet) had to rush for an urgent event in Lagos, so he left late Friday night.

A thief was severly dealt with after he was caught robbing in an estate in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state. According to reports, before his capture, the suspect had been terrorizing Osongama estate residents by jumping the fence and stealing peoples car batteries, generators, phones and other valuables from the window.

Isaac Mefo who shared the news revealed that the guy who has been identified as a tricyclist popularly known as Keke driver - stole his wife's Samsung Galaxy and his generator set just one month after their wedding.

Apparently, his crimes have caught up with him as he was apprehended, beaten and handed over to security operatives.

The executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Mr. Emmanuel Shior yesterday received Miss Alice Adah, a Benue deportee from Lybia at the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, zonal office Portharcout, River state.

Mr. Shior stated that he got a call from NEMA zonal office Port-Harcourt that there was a Benue indigene among the returnees from Lybia, and without delay he swung into action and traveled to Portharcourt where he received her from the management of NEMA zonal office Portharcout to bring her back to Makurdi, Benue State capital.

SEMA boss said Miss Alice Adah would be handed over to her people after the rehabilitation unit of the agency finish a rehabilitation work on her.

Narrating her experience, Miss Alice Adah who hailed from Olaidu town of Okpokwu local government area of Benue state but said she grew up and lived in Abuja said she was deceived by her friend who told her there was a lot of money making opportunities in Lybia. But when she finally got there after spending three (3) weeks traveling on the sea, she found herself in the hands of agent who leased her out for a business of house keeping for a period of one year seven months without her getting anything at the end.

Miss Alice who said she would never forget her ordeal in the hands of Libyan police who could arrest and detain any Nigerian seen on the streets of Lybia, advised other girls not to toe her path, adding that she was grateful to God almighty for bringing her home alive, saying most of her friends who embarked on the journey together with her could not return to Nigeria alive.

He further confessed that one Rafiu Olorunwa Akanni, former Chairman Of NURTW Lagos State, hired him to assassinate Lawal for N1.5 Million.He said he was given N500k advance payment, but they mistakenly assassinated the PA to their target, Piero, while their actual target escaped with Bullet wounds. .

The police said: “He claimed that Akanni refused to give them the N1, 000,000 balance because they killed the personal assistant of the man he sent them to eliminate. .Hence, Adeola Williams aka Ade Lawyer traced the driver of Olorunwa and confiscated his Black Hyundai jeep from the driver and called the owner that they will release his Jeep after he paid them their one million naira balance.

He said they needed to run and hide until the heat subsided since two of his accomplices had been arrested by the police. He confessed that Mr. Olorunwa has been calling him to be very careful and that he should hide very well because his members have been arrested.

He also mentioned many other victims he assassinated in the past which included Hamburger, a union chairman in Oshodi, Babajide Dosumu aka Mados in Ebute Meta, Salawe in Ajah, Ganiyu Asaro and four others in Badore where he said he spread bullets in their car and killed the five occupants.

”Olorunwa was arrested at Ebute Meta by IRT operatives. Efforts to arrest remaining gang members at large in progress.”

Governor Ayo Fayose visited Ipao Ekiti town today following the killing of one man in by suspected Fulani herdsmen on Sunday. The governor, who arrived Ekiti State yesterday evening mobilised Soldiers, Policemen, Civil Defence and local hunters to the town to prevent further loss of lives.

He warned against people taking laws into their hands and directed that a committee should be set up to look into the immediate and remote causes of incessant attacks in Ipao Ekiti and surrounding towns.

"Anyone who kills will be fished out and punished in accordance with our laws and no one should kill cows here too," Governor Fayose said.
