A man simply identified as Adamu has been found dead by residents in Adamawa state in an apparent suicide. According to online reports, the married man decided to kill himself by hanging after allegedly being accused by his friends of kidnapping. The accusation seemed unbearable for the man before he allegedly killed himself.

His corpse has been untied form where it was seen hanging as security operatives have been called to remove the body.

Sir Tonye Okio, a critic of former President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Henry Dickson of Bayelsa State, on Sunday, January 21 (yesterday) celebrated 4 years anniversary of being released from prison after his arrest.

Mr. Okio was arrested on Saturday April 28, 2013 by officials of the Special Investigation Bureau (SIB) of the Nigeria Police and summarily taken to Yenagoa, where he was detained in solitary confinement over his comments --- comments deemed critical of poor governance, corruption, and the hubris and excesses of government officials.

He was also very active on the Ijaw Nation Forum (a forum for Ijaw worldwide) where he championed the plight of the downtrodden and vigorously condemned the searing poverty and underdevelopment of the Niger Delta.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today, January 22nd, 2018 arraigned one Ijeoma Ugwah before honourable Justice Dije Abdu Aboki of the Kano State High Court on a count charge obtaining by false pretense. The accused person allegedly obtained the sum of N4,000,000 (Four Million Naira Only) from the complainant under the pretext that she would secure him a job in the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

According to the complainant, he was introduced to the accused person by one Engineer Johnson where she told him to pay the sum of N4,000,000 (Four Million Naira Only) if he wants a job. The complainant subsequently paid the sum as he was instructed to by the accused person.

After he paid the money, the accused person told him that he would receive a call from Reuben Abati, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to former president, Goodluck Jonathan.

Since then, the complainant neither hear from the accused nor Reuben Abati which prompted him to petitioned the Commission.

The charge read that "You Ijeoma Ugwah on the 8th November, 2013 within the jurisdiction of this honorable court with intent to defraud, did obtain the sum of N4,000,000 (Four Million Naira Only) through the zenith Bank account of Conskemy Associates Nigeria Limited with account number 1011029215 from one Umar Ahmed under the false pretense that the money was required for an employment you will secure for him which pretense you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to section (1)(1)(a) of the Advance fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offence Act, 2006 and punishable under section 1(3) of the same Act.

After listening to the charge, the accused person pleaded not guilty.

Prosecution counsel, Salihu Sani requested the court for a trial date in view of the plea of the accused person.
Counsel for the accused person, moved bail application on behalf of the accused.

Prosecution counsel informed the court that he was just serve with charge and needed time to respond.

Justice Aboki adjourned the matter to January 25th, 2018 for hearing of bail application and ordered that the accused person be remanded in EFCC custody.

Following intelligence at the disposal of the Niger State Police Command in connection with the circulation of money suspected to be counterfeit, the operatives of the Command during two separate raids carried out in Minna metropolis, arrested one Umar Auta ‘m’ aged 50yrs of Bosso LGA and Abdulkarim Adamu ‘m’ 70yrs of Old Kwata Suleja in Suleja LGA respectively.

One Dane gun, an axe, one machete and the sum of eight million naira (N8,000,000.00) all in one thousand naira denomination suspected to be counterfeit were recovered from the suspects.

Investigation of the case is still in progress.

The operatives of the Command have been directed and charged by the Commissioner of Police to redouble their efforts in fighting crime and wishes to solicit for the cooperation of the members of the public in this regard.

Security operatives comprising of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Police and Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested illegal Nigerien citizens and other foreigners at Karu, Abuja following a tip-off on the subtle entry of aliens into the community. The men are currently in the custody of the security operatives as investigations begin to unravel their mission in the country.

A pastor who leads a church in Asaba, Delta State and also said to be a notable prayer warrior in a Church in Asaba have been accused of charming and adopted a girl known as Faith last week Friday. The pastor who has been arrested by police operatives reportedly kept saying that God revealed to him that the girl is her wife and nothing can separate both of them.

PASTOR CHARM 21 YEARS OLD CHURCH MEMBER OF NEW GENERATION CHURCH IN ASABA, DELTA STATE

We received SOS call from a young boy who was referred by a Mandela Washington fellow base in Onitsha Anambra State to help rescue 21 years old Faith missing since Friday 12th January, 2018.

A pastor who have a church in Asaba, Delta State is also a member and notable prayer warrior in a Church in Asaba (NAME WITHHELD) charmed and adopted Faith last week Friday.

Through intelligence report, we arrived the church at about 3pm along Ibusa road Asaba where the Pastor has a shop and saw the girl inside the shop. Surprisedly, she was behaving funny as someone mentally unstable.

Looking at the girl, you would noticed she has been charmed as she couldn't leave the presence of the pastor. (She follows the pastor anywhere he enters. TOUCH AND FOLLOW)

Trouble broke out when the Civil Defense Security Guard attach to the church refused to hand him (Pastor) to us for questioning and handover to the Police. The Civil Defense on duty threatened to shoot me Prince Gwamnishu Harrison if I step my foot into the church premises. He and other pastors and Security guards told us that the case would be handled by the church council and no police has right to arrest someone inside the Church.

I left immediately to A Division when the case has been reported before of a missing girl. The Police followed me back to the church and got the Pastor arrested.

We took the Pastor to his hideout behind Ministry of Justice office along Ibusa road and discovered different women wears inside old travelling bag.

The Pastor kept saying that God revealed to him that the girl is her wife and nothing can separate both of them and that he asked God for a young girl for marriage.

It surprised me to see that a church decided to handle a criminal matter without informing the police and with the help of Civil Defense attached to them they harassed us.

The Pastor is currently in custody in A Division Police Station Asaba.

Be watchful. Not everyone with Bible are truly called as we have fake people preaching the word of God. Keep watching and report all suspicious activities to security Agencies.

Civil Defense Personnel attach to the church will have questions to answer when we visit the State commandant tomorrow morning.

A medical doctor and neurologist with Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi state, Nura Alkali, has weighed in on the Fulani herdsmen saga as he revealed how strongly he is opposed to nomadic cattle-herding. The doctor also revealed how he stopped to take pictures of herdsmen fleeing with their cattle in December 2017 after their people were attacked in Numan, Adamawa State.

The mutual hatred among us is so pervasive that I wonder if we are truly civilized. In fact, some of us are so hateful that they hate themselves to spite others. You know yourselves. Your landless kinsmen are so much hated that even their infants are killed in cold-blood. But rather than help them acquire land in safer areas, you urge them to remain landless, which in your twisted mind, is a revenge on their enemies.

You are their worst enemy, like it or not. By "you", I mean everyone supporting nomadism while avoiding its dangers and enjoying sedentary life in our towns and cities. I'm also referring to past and present leaders who are ostensibly Fulani but did little to help nomads adopt modern methods of animal husbandry that would allow them lease/own land and access healthcare and education available to other Nigerians.

You are motivated by misplaced ego, but you are not alone. So-called "Fulani leaders" also did little to solve the problem, preferring instead to promise "bringing perpetrators to book" after each deadly conflict over farmland versus grazing land. But why am I not surprised? If the children of nomads can be doctors, engineers, lawyers and accountants like us and our children, who can we oppress again? Who will rear our cattle?

I took these pictures during a trip to Yola from Gombe on 1st December 2017, at around 8:30-9:00 am. These nomads were fleeing Numan, Adamawa State, after a hostile tribe massacred 54 of their women and children a few days earlier. I told my passenger that it was a sign for a revenge attack. I was so sure that I parked to take the pictures. That also gave me the chance to throw a jibe in Fulfulde at a group of herdsmen:

"Nomadism in this age is not bravery, but stupidity. Educate yourself and you would rear cows in comfort". He was aghast, but he still found the voice to tell his comrades that I was talking sense. An uneducated youth of 19-20 years. And here you are, a graduate or postgraduate insisting he should forever remain a nomad. Shame on you. Unfriend me if you hate my opinion since I'll always oppose nomadic cattle-herding.

The family of Chief Chijioke Uwah, has been mourning since December 15th 2017 following a serious road accident that killed 13-year-old Chijioke jr, son of Esther Uwah one of his Chijioke’s wives…

The fatal accident happened after the Peoples Democratic Party PDP convention which took place in Abuja, as he set out for Enugu from Abuja with five of his children on 15/12/2017. According to reports, the family left Abuja at the wee hour of 4:00 am and had already passed Lokoja and Anyimgba in Kogi state when suddenly an unguided infant was crossing the highway.

In a bid to avoid hitting the child, the driver (Chijioke Uwah) hit the brake immediately and at the same time turned the steering as the car somersaulted and threw away the son out from the smashed window.

The handsome boy died on the spot whereas other occupants of the vehicle came out unscratched except Chijioke Uwah senior who sustained injuries especially on his head.

The boy will be laid to rest on Wednesday 17th January 2017 at Ebonyi state .

A man, simply identified as Baba Jide, was found dead in his car on Thursday morning at Alaro community on Sango-Eleyele Road, Ibadan, Oyo State, with a wound in his head suspected to be from a gunshot. It was gathered that the man was discovered dead in his white Golf 2 car by passersby.

Some residents of the area were said to have told the police, who went to the scene, led by the Divisional Police Officer of Sango Division, SP Joyce Madaki, after the report of the incident, that they heard a sound at about 12 midnight but thought it was fireworks.

It was learnt that the deceased was using his private car for commercial purposes and used to return between 11:30p.m. and shortly before midnight.

It was further gathered that he lived alone in the neighbourhood where he was shot dead, as his wife and children were not living in the city.

A motorcyclist popularly known as Okada rider, collapsed after he was allegedly kicked at his back by a policeman in Anambra state. According to reports, the Okada rider allegedly refused to give the policeman N50 bribe as the officer kicked him before he slumped.

On seeing what happened, the policeman and other passersby tried to revive the motorcyclist as the incident drew too much attention on the highway.

The incident happened few days ago along a highway in Onitsha, Anambra state.

This is very shameful... talking about these ladies who continue to give the continent bad name abroad with their shameless acts. A group of ladies descended on another lady after a heated quarrel at a migrants camp in Italy. The cause of the fight could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report. The "victim" was left seriously wounded and bloodied after receiving merciless beating from her fellow migrants in the camp.

When the ladies saw that they had injured their colleague, they all took to their heels and fled - leaving the "victim" laying all the floor with blood dripping down her face.
