Riyadh, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in particular, would approve any kind of Israeli-Palestinian deal to finally get rid of this “PR obstacle” and unite with Tel Aviv against Tehran, a former security advisor to Benjamin Netanyahu believes. While officially Israel and Saudi Arabia do not have diplomatic relations, more than a decade ago Riyadh proposed an initiative which would see the normalization of relations between Arab nations and Israel. Among its demands, the Arab Peace Initiative, endorsed by the Arab League, calls on the Jewish state to withdraw from the occupied territories, including East Jerusalem, and achieve “a just solution to the Palestinian Refugee problem.” Despite the reinstatement of pre-1967 borders still being the primary reference point in any discussions for a peaceful settlement between Israel and the Palestinians, Saudi Arabia will likely accept any kind of deal between the rivals, believes Brig. Gen. Yaakov Nagel, who served as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s national security director from January 2016 until May 2017. “Everyone knows that the Arab Peace Initiative doesn’t have any meaning. There are things inside that don’t hold water,” Nagel said this week. “They [Saudis] just have to say there’s an agreement between Israel and Palestine. They don’t care; they don’t give a damn what will be the agreement.” But Saudi Arabia will face a PR problem if it seeks closer ties with Israel, so it is ready to endorse any piece of paper as a legitimate deal to claim that the Palestinian issue is resolved and it is time to move on, believes Nagel. “They don’t like [the Palestinians] more than us or less than us. They need to say that there is an agreement in order to take next steps [toward normalization]. So this is still an obstacle,” Nagel said , adding that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is leading the country in the right direction. Relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia have witnessed a seeming rapprochement this month, after Saudi Arabia accused Iran and its regional Lebanese ally, Hezbollah, of meddling in Middle Eastern affairs and arming the Houthi rebels in Yemen. Israel has long viewed Iran and Hezbollah along the same lines, and a threat to its own existence. Just this week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that Israel is covertly cooperating with some Arab nations. Ties with the Arab world, including Saudi Arabia, were also confirmed recently by Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz. Earlier in November, IDF Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Gadi Eizenkot, told Saudi Arabia’s Alaf newspaper that his country was ready to share “intelligence information” with Riyadh on Tehran. However, despite such unprecedented developments Saudi Arabia firmly rejects reports that it is working with Israel. “The Arab conditions are clear — two states with a Palestinian state whose capital is East Jerusalem. As for other issues, they can be worked out between Israelis and Palestinians. Arab nations’ position has always supported the Palestinian brothers. That remains the Arab position,” Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir told Egypt’s CBC television on Monday. https://www.rt.com/news/410964-saudis-israel-palestinians-iran/ |
peaceful negotiations and diplomacy is alien to Fulanis. always threatening, if the Fulani's aren't careful they might become extinct in the next 30 years. |
wike is not PDP, if he said the west hasn't contributed anything to PDP, present facts to counter him and not trying to play the ethnic card. I am surprised an old warrior like bode would be playing the game this way |
I don't know why the people who hate atiku are now concerned about ibb endorsing him or not. shouldn't they be concerned with packaging buhari/osibanjo for 2019. Atiku is becoming a nightmare for the same APC folks that said he is irrelevant. |

I don't understand the problem of some APC southwesterners, u support APC and buhari but they are everywhere wailing and lamenting on PDP threads. zoning was moved to the south not southwest. despite that the southwest alone has 6 candidates, haba! how do u guys expect the southwest to win when east has none and s/south has 2 candidates. so much for a united region. I think the south west needs to sit down and do a reevaluation, they are putting so much importance on their region. |
what do they mean by "provoking tensions" let tensions be provoked. if the Arabs like let them destroy their region. enough of all these threat of violence .. Am yet to hear from Iran or Saudi about the issue, the pope should stay out of this |
[quote author=dikru2002 post=63059889][/quote]stop making noise, if war comes it would be in the Arab world, and this time no prisoners would be taken. if they are wise they would avoid war, but for the fact that violence is the one major tenet of Islam I doubt so. It is time for all civilized nations, and people, to respond to disagreement with reasoned debate –- not violence... |
Trump the I no send man. It is time for all civilized nations, and people, to respond to disagreement with reasoned debate –- not violence... Donald Trump. (2017) All these Arab nations crying and wailing should know that all the areas they occupy presently were Christian nations. But they used ruthless violence to impose Islam. Just like what Dan fodio did in northern Nigeria. I might not be a fan of Israel and Trump's policies but I like the way he is telling all those who care to do their worst especially on this Jerusalem issue. The Arab world have used violence to threaten the world for so long and what Trump is saying is do ur worst and Islam would become history. Trump has officially divided the world into Christian and Islam with this move. |

in a country filled with darkness, u have no choice than to charge ur phones to 100% always when u see light. as u aren't sure of light always. |
only Bode George from the southwest is qualified for that position. as he is the only one that can't be bought over by any living thing. others can't be trusted. |
a day would come in this country where its either the Fulani's go back to Sudan or they become extinct. if buhari thinks he would get away with all these he is being foolish. like I have always said northerners must rise up against Dan fodios caliphate and go back to their way of life before the evil jihad ![]() |
even with increase of fuel price. so what would have happened if fuel price wasn't increased. it would be monthly fuel scarcity under buhari. ![]() |
we are back to the OBJ regime where NNPC's Christmas gift is fuel scarcity. with the increase of fuel price, fuel scarcity should be a thing of the past, but under buhari abnormal is normal. |

cstr1000:all those support and allies especially in the middle east are based on protection. the middle eastern countries are brutal regimes who only dance to the tune of the US as long as the US protects their eternal stay in power. eg Saudi. but the same saudi under the young ruler has seen the handwriting on the wall(sighting their failed Yemen war and their failed attempt to strangulate Qatar who immediately ran to Iran and turkey for help) and gradually shifting away from the US or becoming cautious. the issue of Syria has shifted the dynamics of power play in international politics. where the world is now gradually accepting bi-polarism or multi-polarism as against uni-polarism where the US was lord and master. now countries can pursue their own independent policy both foreign and national without being scared of what the US might think about it, knowing fully well that there us a Russia or China or Iran etc somewhere that they can run to when the US starts their bully show. what has those 700 based achieved for the US nothing but to put fear on countries going against their dictate, the fear which is gradually fading out. it just a matter of time before Europe gets emancipated from the US engineered Russophobia. first was brexit, Germany might be calling for another election soon as Merkel's party has failed to get a majority. worst of all Russia is winning in the "propaganda and diplomatic war". more countries are beginning to support UN resolutions against Israel, something that wouldn't happen when the influence of the US was at all time high. And worst of all Trump has always supported Putin even against his own country. there is a lot going on. |
Zoharariel:this man well said. just like u stated the failed Syrian war changed the balance of power. as long as Assad remains in power the US had lost 50 percent of its leverage. failed war in Syria, failed war in Iraq failed war in Afghanistan, failed Libyan policy, failed in Ukraine about to fail in north Korea . countries are becoming wise, Russia has truly exposed the US, they have outsmarted them everywhere. |
all Libyans needs this kind of beating. they destroyed their country with their own hands. |

if u study shetimma u would notice how arrogant he is. but Mr reno if buhari doesn't have a certificate, then its a taboo to ask of shetimma's own. unless u have forgotten about quota system. |
17 million these people are evil. more evil is the fact that these cars were bought using foreign contractors. when we have Peugeot Nigeria, KIA, IVM, and other cars assembled in. Nigeria. how can the Senate be discouraging the automobile industry in nigeria. this is sardonic ![]() |
