Am writing this on behalf of the newbies like me,I remember when I wanted to start this journey, I pm sirRiddy to give me guidelines, he told me to search for schools and send mails to the grad cords,I googled,and send mails to more than 30 schools, majority of the schools reply my mail few did not reply.Some said they have limited GTA, some don't have fund,some said its competitive, some said they waive some percentage of the tuition. After everything I have selected 4 schools,might add two to it later.I have

Michigan state university ( MSC industrial mathematics- They fund all their msc industrial mathematics student)
New Mexico tech ( They encourage me to apply ,MSC applied mathematics and operations research- They fund all msc mathematics students)
Kansas state university (MSC mathematics- They fund all graduate maths students)
Montana state university (They fund their grad students but requested for my transcript)
Searching for schools that suit your qualification is like searching for a six figure salary job without connection.

3. President Buhari is going to remove some ministers and cabinet member.I see the CBN governor leaving.
4.Dollars will keep increasing till end of the year.
5.I see the end of boko haram. Low case of bombing.
6. Fulani herd's men will commit so much killing that the populace will scream out to international community.
7. Seun Osewa will get married this year.
8. I will also join the pre wedding n wedding photo crew this year.

Its quite surprising when you see argument ranging from this and that about Oau. As an alumni of great Ife I would say that many things said by disgruntled wannabe great Ife is not true.
1. Just as admission racketeering is prominent in most Nigerian university great Ife is not an exception. Early 2000 you will see students with low scores getting into prestigious dept like medicine, elect elect, Chem engine etc . it happens dear.
2. Ife don't admit on tribalism. There is a merit cut off and catchment cut off. Catchment cut off is never higher than merit cut off. I saw a guy said his dept cut off was lesser than his catchment. I say that is a pure lie. This cut off are based on people performance that is why some states have low cut compared to other catchment states.
3. Oau delta student association is one of the strongest state association in Oau. If not the strongest during my stay there. Closest state will be Lagos . I say this due to their week celebration . there is no state not well represented in Oau. No discrimination from any sort compared to other eastern states universities like uniport, unn etc.
4. In the case of the girl it is possible n very possible . I had similar issue then during admission . my name came out in like 4depts and there where cancellation here n there. In as much as your name her name was already in one dept errors will crept in. She should have spoken out. During my own time I was fortunate to see the vc roger makanjuola then and I reported to him pronto it was fixed up. Oau is a free university with lurking around for a day u will even see all prominent governing council of the school I tell you. Issues like this happen n I must say Nigerian universities are not there yet but Oau is still fair compared to universities in ss n de.

Though I don't really doubt ur existence, I need a job in this approaching new year. I ve been jobless for a longtime even with an MSc certificate. Mind u Santa I wish to get married before d end of next year and money has been a prob.

TOEFL is kinda straight forward. Just follow the template of the YouTube video. It works wonders. Be confident and sound like a boss on the mic. Package your accent
Use the softwares and simulate the exam process and you should be fine.
Learn to read fast though....
And yes that day , be prepared for distractions from other rapping on their mics concentration is crucial. That's about it.

I think u dont need to fear if u really schooled in Nigeria . for d reading question u need to be fast in reading n in ur comprehension. Listening require u to be attentive; speaking involves u to be proactive n loud. That's d most difficult aspect n also most important too. I manage to get 23 in it. The writing section is the easiest. Pls take painkiller on the day of d exam . the kind headache you d be saving itself can knknock an elephant over

So I got my TOEFL result dis morning! Bad thing is I never had the chance to report my scores to the institutions freely as I thought its like GRE where I report my scores after the exams .I d have to fork out $80 which I don't have the luxury of. Now the good side is I got a decent score of 92. Though I don't understand jack about the result interpretation. Summary is how good is TOEFL score of 92 writing 25; listening 23 reading 22 speaking 22 for funding opportunities.

Why should you worry when you can easily get flight from Lagos to Arizona/houston/ Dallas except u wanna cut cost which u can use greyhound from NY to Texas and use close to 2-3days of traveling

I still dey beg. I just need about 4 schools. I will apply this week to all and schedule a test date for my GRE if need be. I keep having nightmares because of this. just want to lock myself indoors for the next one month and finish everything about application

I hardly reply to comment in here but since we both have d same first name I ma reply you. U have a fairly decent profile. U didn't state ur cgpa in ur bsc degree but if it is over 3./4 then u can try schools in d south. Write a good sop. Contact prof or Dr in ur area of specialization. U may write up to 300 letters before u get one interested in u but don't be discouraged.

Guy I have been to ui but to tell u d truth Dia is no University in South western Nigeria that can compete with oau. Check even Dia geology department and u will be convinced. Just like u said all dis University lack maintenance culture!

Its a shame on toyin, aramide and Linda. To see someone on a sick bed and still call it a scam showed that some human have ant brain . basis that medical practitioner said her case is beyond medical term doesn't mean she will die. Even doctors believe in miracle and Nigerian do too. So cause d doctor said sh*t means d family should close shop n give up. Who does DAT?
Now bottomline is all those three involved in labelling DAT case a scam, when u three need help may people label it a scam till its late before they realize.
I extend God's healing hand in mayowa case. Lord prove itself that when medical power fails that is when your own power starts
