I been think say lalasticlala na one kind big man oo.

But am highly disappointed embarassed
You ain't funny. What is your definition of "big man"? Because he didn't block his street or litter everywhere with acholic drinks? Not everyone is ostentatious, taking loan to celebrate a naming ceremony and go hungry the next day.

This only shows the guy is wise and not a braggadocio.

Congrats Lalasticlala

JuanDeDios:
Your assessment of the level of appreciation of art among Nigerians is accurate. But in the end you make an argument similar to the one being made by some white South Africans today that at the time they stole land and restricted black people to a small fraction of the country the land was mostly lying fallow. The fact is that those who owned the art works kept and care for them in the palace. They had no books - those artworks contained their history and folkways. Then they were stolen. This is why they must be returned. It does not matter that the generality of Nigerians don't appreciate art. The Binis certainly do. The British are welcome to buy our artworks if they want but what was stolen ought to be returned.
May you continue to increase in wisdom.
Travel › Re: Oba Of Benin To Prince Charles: ''Return Our Stolen Artifacts'' by Born2Breed(f): 7:45am On Nov 07, 2018
For those saying the artefacts are better off where they are, my prayer for you this morning is May your precious property be stolen and you will pay to see it.

Those assuming it will rot away here or be stolen. There are more artefacts that were not stolen by the British and older than the ones stolen that are still in the palace and other places. They are all intact.

Nairaland is a home to so many comedians, uninformed bunch of myopic idiots.
Some never do well were throwing jibes why the Oba of Benin went to Abuja and I told u guys to watch how all prominent kings will be in Abuja.

Now is the sitting position.... grin

Do your research very well, that sitting position has nothing to do with history but the national tradition council.

Gossipninja:
A pregnant woman hawking abacha in the streets of Owerri, Imo state has attracted the public with her creativity.

The creative hawker who designed her container with sliced onions, fresh pepper and utazi leaves was discovered by a lady on social media, Chinwenmeri Joy.

Sharing the photos on Facebook the lady said;

“She was pregnant..

She was hawking abacha

I saw her from afar ..my eyes were playing "ten ten "with me ..

I admired the plastic container she used ,the colors were beautiful.

She came closer and i looked closely ..

No, it wasn't a design by the manufacturers ..

She created it herself using sliced onions ,pepper and utazi leaves...

Omg , i begged her to take a snap shot..she obliged me

Her creativity wowed me.

I dashed her money to buy herself a can of juice and begged her to find time to rest while she hustles...

She was so excited and took the money with so much appreciation.

Nigerians are very hardworking people ...”

Mr Imasuen Izoduwa you must be bored and angry that you have not made any head way in your life. Why is Biafra bothering you? Benin, a very wonderful kingdom is not part of Biafra but is welcome if they chose to come with Biafra or go with Yoruba (Oduduwa) or just to remain as they are with their Oba....

My problem actually is you should have said something about your current Oba that left his kingdom to go to Abuja with heavy entourage to see Prince Charles.....

Aint that something?

I guess Oba Ovonramwen Nogbaisi that was exiled by Charles forefathers must be shaken his head as to how his people have gone from being a formidable African kingdom to a mere NIGGA AREA...

Too bad
Prince Charles is representing the Queen and the last time I check the British monarch has a say in all British international policies.

Abuja is Nigeria, there is nothing wrong if the Oba goes to the nation's capital to discuss what will benefit Edo state with Charles.

Don't digress and stick to the topic of this thread.

BTW just watch the news and see how many Nigeria kings will be in Abuja tomorrow. Before you throw stone for market.

Travel › Re: Pedestrian Bridge At UNIBEN In Edo Under Construction (PHOTOS) by Born2Breed(f): 5:24pm On Nov 05, 2018
autojosh:
The only Pedestrian Bridge in Edo state is currently under construction.

The Pedestrian Bridge is being constructed across a federal highway - the Benin-Lagos expressway. It is situated in front of the main gate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Ugbowo campus, Benin city.

The project is being funded by the Godwin Obaseki-led Edo state government.

Currently, no pedestrian bridge exists in Edo state. However, this pedestrian bridge is not going to be the first to be constructed in the state.

The first Pedestrian Bridge was constructed in the early ‘90s.  It was constructed about 500 meters away from where one is being built now. It was built in front of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).

That UBTH Pedestrian bridge - the first to be built in Edo state -  suffered severe lack of usage. Ostensibly, this led to its eventual dismantling and disappearance from that location. That Pedestrian Bridge was constructed by Lucky Igbinedion, during his stint as the Chairman of Oredo Local Government council.

It could be recalled that several students of the University  of Benin (UNIBEN) have lost their lives while attempting to cross the ever-busy Benin-Lagos expressway to the institution’s campus. The most recent being the one involving a certain Late Rita Awele.

All these informed the decision by the Edo state government to construct a pedestrian bridge in front of the UNIBEN main gate.

The Pedestrian Bridge, which has reached an advance stage of construction, is being built by Hartland Construction Company.

Please Read General Shehu YarAdua’s book,'A Life of Service': It detailed how they (Shehu & Buhari) were in Class in Secondary School in Katsina, when Captain Jack Gowon (now Yakubu Gowon) came to their school to recruit them when they both were members of the Katsina Provincial Secondary School Cadet Corps in 1961. And they left school the next Monday to join the Army and were sent straight to Sandhurst a few months later, and were commissioned in 1962 (unlike now).
