If your v boot uses the small brain box,and has green wire connected to ur ingnition cup.mostly seen in most manual carb engine,
Then change the brainbox,no let any kazeem use u trouble shoot and make sure u get a good brainbox not more than 4k.

The practise I realised can actually be done to older car models,cos I just remember if u take off battery terminals while key is in the ignition in my car,it goes to code and that's big wahala

Where I buy my batteries,though in lagos,they usually run checks on the car to ensure it doesn't have leakages and checks alternators if charging well before they install the new batteries,this they do to ensure the car is ok for them to give warranty on the new battery,I normally get a one year warranty and have used some of the batteries for more than 6yrs no issues at all.I buy from Dimaps Olowu.
You can look out for reliable battery dealers around you and not spare parts dealers selling batteries alongside or a battery charger selling batteries,but a good distributer that gets directly from manufacturers.they should have such facilities too

One simple way to check if ur charging circuits is good in ur car is to remove one of the terminal head while the engine is idle,if it goes off,then you need to check ur alternators

All through the thread the OP and other supporting gurus did not even make mention of the mercedes transmission and even when asked they only confirmed they could fix it but no answers giving to the people that asked bout the V boot and the A160,not even the recommended oil was said,and all that came talked mostly on Honda and Toyotas.now curious
Is it that the benz hardly have transmission issues compared with other brands discussed
Or they don't have answers to those that asked bout them

My car said samething when I diagnose with the computer and I was wondering where cylinder 4 is,I traced the nozzles myself and saw one of it was disconnected,I reconnect it and its perfect now

I have been driving benz W124 since 2003 till last week when I thought to myself I must give up D car.I had a 200 4 speed and a 230 5speed.these cars are superb machines with no faults at all,I do the servicing all by myself.and only get mechanics to change brake pads,hubs,shock absorbers et all,
Recently I got a w201,had issues with the radiator water mixing with the gear trasmission oil,my mechanic suggest I change the air coolant and steamwash the radiator,these I did on saturday but cannot finish yet as my mechanic has fumbled with the keys while trying to open D trunk,now the trunk refused to take in keys,pls I need advice on how to open D trunk without damaging the car,I don't mind damaging the locks but not the boot itself or the car body when the panel beater want to try open it.please I need ppl who has experienced this b4 and how the got it open.

I'd removed the battery terminal several times,even tried switching the central lock cables but still no success.I'm actually waiting on a panel beater,just ideas on how the panel beater can do it,not to further damege ireplaceable parts,cos when they tried it with my v boot doors,its started to let in rain

My mechanic fumbled with the keys and I guess must have forcefully put the keys in the lock when he wanted to remove the car jack,when I came back I tried opening the trunk,it opened once & would not accept the keys anymore,the servicing parts plus the radiator bottles are in the trunk so I cannot move the car,I need ideas on how I can. Open the trunk.
I have tried the central locks,it only opens the doors but trunk still locked,its a 2001 mercedes benz e class.
Please all the benz gurus in the house,ur help is needed urgently.
