U have a serious point. The dogs have chewed up the seats of my sports bicycle and that of my kids too. That is the only thing within reach for them. I keep every other chewable thing out of their reach.
Please guide me; my reason for releasing them in my compound all day long and all night long is because I want them to start marking their territory so as to know the area to protect, (I bought them to be guard dogs). Also, I felt that it will enable me to chain and cage them continually (from 1 yr old) to make them agressive if they become a year old and are yet to develop the neccesary guard instincts.

Please, is this the right move?

My wife advised that I shud not release both of them at the same time? she believes that would reduce the destruction. what do u think?

A guard dog already has the guarding instincts as ther traits,so whether you let him loose now to understand his territory or not,he already knows his territory,and locking them up @ this puppy stage will even let them listen to most of the sounds in the environment @ nights as they stay alert for either a friend or a stranger as they are locked and can differentiate normal sounds from strange sounds,letting them loose can make them develop some bad habits as they are still learning.you let them loose when they are adults,they will not exploit as puppies,and then wll be better guards as they are mature,what breed are they?

Go to agege at vetland where they sell dog food, i still saw some african grey parrots there last week, just ask anybody there when you get there and they will direct you to the shop where they sell cages

Yea I saw it too,I have crates for sale @ D same store they sell the birds,the guy is my friend but his price is a bit on the highside said 30k and I'm buying 4 and looking @15k.

Please I need ideas on how to plant lawn seed and what to do to make the seed grow and how to mange it to look healthy.
The portion has almond fruits trees,I hope this will not hinder the growth of the lawn?
The portion has weed but I think I have been able to manage the weed from growing presently without chemicals.so I need help on growing the lawn.

I seem to have a similar problem. my dogs' appetite has dropped significantly.
before now, they were eating so well that I started worrying about the financial implication of feeding them. they are about 6 months old and I lock them up all the time; only bringing them out mornings and evenings to go and poo outside.

last week, I changed routine and now release them into the compound every night. At about the same time, I noticed their appetite dropped. I have dewormed, administered Vet recommended antibiotitcs and also administered multivitamins daily. yet they dont seem to love food any more.
they are still very healthy, urine is ok, poo is ok, agility has barely changed. just that they don't eat much. I have no choice but to start feeding them once a day in a bid to get them to finish the food and avoid wastage.

I feed them diamond puppy (large breed) and/or indomie waste cooked with either chicken legs, beef or fish head- which ever is available.
I notice they do eat a bit more when the indomie is prepared compared to when I give them the diamond dry food.

I just changed routine this morning again and I release them to move around (inside my compound) all through the day and night

Your dogs @ 6mths are still puppies and should not be allowed to roam the compound all through the nights especially when they have a partner,they will exploit every corners of the house and could playfully swallow anything at ther disposal.as long as your vets have administered antibiotics and multivtamins,
Try to restrict ther freedom to when you can supervise and change the diamond large breed to Arion puppy,add beef,chicken or fish mixed with the dry feed.give small quantities at 1st and don't leave the feed with them all day,clear any leftover after each meal,this might help

NB I inject my dogs personally so it's not an issue of whether or not they were injected but the injections we give, can u vouch for their handling(storage mostly), when they temp exceeds a degree, the chain breaks, in english, the drugs is considered useless and thhats why instead of the ideal 3yrs repeatation, it's done yearly so to avoid stories that touch
Finally why I will take the shot is because once the infection is confirmed in a human, the result is death 100%. Rabies like other virus is not treated so stop making rabies look like a childs play

Don't get me wrong I answered the op directly from what he explained and like I said earlier that its the believe of most ppl that everydog bite is rabid that I want to put away.I have some dogs.they say my rott bit them,even though its trespass as the rotts is in his territory, I know for sure the dog has no rabbies not cos of my previous vaccines but cos I know why D dog reacted that way and I observe all my dogs closely daily and if I notice any abnormality in the behaviour I will kill such dog by myself as I know its implication,sometimes you might not be in the mood for such bills ATM and at same time you don't want to implicate yourself in D environment,sometimes D Dr give anti tetanus I wonder what that has got to do with dog bites,and you pay the bills.
Don't get me wrong APITCH,its what I face sometimes with trespassers and visitors sometimes,but my dogs hardly bite but the scratches are said as bites and the bill is urs so annoying.I would kill any infected dog or quarantine him sharp sharp u know.
That is why I want to know if actually the OPs dog has rabbies for real

This reminds me of my final year at the university. A lot of my colleagues, especially the female ones, where blabbing about how they were going to go for their masters immediately they finished youth service. At that point, I felt I would be behind them cos they had parents who could afford to spend on their masters degree. Few year after, I've come to realise that having a masters degree without work experience is like calling yourself a Master in roadside mechanic job without going through apprenticeship. Such a person must be a genius to be able to repair car engines.

I believe majority of my colleagues will later realise how much of a waste of time it is going for masters without job experience. Most companies are concerned about your work experience more than your certification. They use your work experience to determine what you can do for them. It shows you've been tested before and so can be trusted.

Pls, don't be like my friends who thought tendering a CV with Bsc and Msc automatically gives them an edge over other applicants in a recruitment exercise. Without work experience, the CV will just seem like a decoration. These days, people remove Msc from their CV just to get a job. Even if you are going to be considered for a job as an Msc holder with no experience, it will still be an entry level job with little salary.

Except you are very lucky,most coys want cheap labour these days,if you have a BSC with work experience you stand a better chance getting 3 out of 10 job u appled for while a Masters holder with no experience stand a chance of 1 in 10.
Sometimes ppl with masters hold it back when applying for some jobs just to get out of unemployment.except ofcos ur ppl are well connected and there is already a post you are eyeing which require you getting the masters 1st

Was he quarantined as its the most appropriate thing to do.
U sound like u know the dog is not infected with rabies.
If it was a strange dog u don't know its history is a diff thingy,but when its ur dog and u know why he bit you,there should be no cause for alarm.
Its just not the best to make the public have too much fears on dog bites as rabid,so please let us know if you took the anti rabbies shot just to be safe or ur dog actually has it?

My aim actually is to put away the fear people have that everydog bite is rabid.

My dog bit,no it was actually scratch someone and the parents insist on anti rabies injection,the Dr asked if my dogs were vaccinated against rabies and i Showed her their cards,she later ask I go buy antirabies injection and I told her I don't know where its been sold,and the dog is not rabid,she treated the wound and that was it.
Have never experienced rabies rght from childhood that I have been dealing with cannines so let's not put fear of every dog bite as rabid cos some already believe every dog bite is rabid.
Is antirabies vaccine easily accessible to medical doctors?like when a dog bites you @ night in a longu and the Dr said he has given you anti rabies would you believe he actually did?

Has anyone in the house been bitten by his dog and had an antirabies shot,why did you get the shot?

The vet said its infection that i dont need to run any test that she will collect 20k but first 10k before she could do anytin. So i told her i will give her 5k nw and by Monday another 5k. Pls advice

Does she feed by herself?f yes use the money to get her dry feed and a good multivitamin,as with her present condition its not the best to administer much drugs other than multivitamns.when she has gathered some strenght then she can start

Don't take antirabies injection unless you are sure the dog has rabies,no medical doctor would even give you antirabies unless they have proofs you are infected.
Like you said you know why he bit you,just treat the wound and take vitamin c to heal,no need for anti tetanus except you expose the wound to rusty metals b4 healing,then you can take that for prevention.
I believe its just a normal wound as long as the dog's vaccines are up to date

It depends.
If the dog acts unusually abnormal,then the said dog might be infected with rabies,and if that be the case the victim will need serious medical attention and the dog too cannot survive more than 24hrs,these cases rarely happen and in my long time experience I have never experienced it anywhere before.
Otherwise if the dog acts normal and maybe you are a stranger or he bites you whle playing .these can be treated as normal wound.

This is certainly not a case of parvo,if it were parvo the dog would ve been dead long before now.
This is obviously a case of malnutrition,and treating the skin of mange,and ticks,but since u said he has no ticks.
Just deworm frequently and feed high proteinous meal,mostly puppy feed.
But ppl are cruel oh.

Offend ke,I am only giving other vareties of nutrituos meals,like get a big pot after you have killed plenty lizards,red necks and the female up to 30,boil them for 20mins taste the tails if its soft now add vegetables,den palm oil and salt.you can cook frogs,cockroaches,bats,earthworms,vultures,maggots,rats,grasshoppers,praying mantis,and soldier ants same way.u will lick ur lips llike the dog below does when he is served jojo

What I'm saying is I experienced it 2ce and the last time up to 3yrs now.
I had my 2 experiences due to carelessness which I believe I cannot encounter except I am careless again.
Septrin is an antibotic and I take it along with ciprotab when I have thyphoid.My Family Dr prescribed it way back and it works well.
The Vets I used then were govt approved vet drs and not just one dr but up to 5 or more as I meet different drs @ different visits,I made friends with the one that knows how to fish out the veins best and arrange to go when he's on duty.
I am not a vet dr so u don't expect me using medical terms as I have my reasons to using layman language here.I'm satisfied with the way the virus was "treated" @ Johnson Agiri

Yes you are right,I guess that is why Dochman's vet dr never suggested it,and to the best of my knowledge,t is the best approach to handling the case.

This should not be in the pet section.you can as well eat bats and cockroaches,its ur choice.one mans mint is another man's poison.
You can get cockroaches in volume and cook in ur pots with vegies its also very nutritous

Let me educate U a bit, Virus for now can't be killed by drugs so no drugs can kill a virus yet and the use of vaccines is just to equip ur antibody on how to handle such virus when the show up. That's why live attenuated virus are used for ur vaccines.
