"If the money is in a foreign currency, we will convert it to British pounds using the spot exchange rate on OANDA for the date of the application."

Debbieeeeeee:

If your funds fall below the required amount at any time within 28 days you begin all over, it is your responsibility to use the OANDA calculator daily to check the exchange rate. Make sure to buffer the funds sufficiently so that you don't have to top up or fall short of the required minimum in between.

Team Name: Bourne007 FC and was in FA Cup last season. Can you please share code to *.com?

iamoyindamola:
Ok Guys, the 24/25 FPL season is here

The fa cup and Carling will be shared via email accordingly, to get the code you quote this post with your email stating your team name position and the cup you were last season
After the 2 cups are filled I will drop the code for the conference league, also note you can't join 2 cups if I find out you will be disqualified from the cups

Good luck guys, let's have a not paper tiger competition ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2023/2024 by Bourne007(m): 10:51am On Jul 19
We had 500+ participants last season. FA and Carling Cups still manageable but wouldn't it be overwhelming sending emails if it's close to that amount + what will eligibility be? Does that mean new joiners ain't allowed? I think it's lively if open as done previously. Somewhat similar to the global ones except of course this is within NL.

No allow iamoyindamola hang boot early oo grin cheesy
Oasis007:

Welldone bro, but the General League shouldn't be general literally. There should be a criterium to be eligible this season and its simple - regular and active participants only.

We need to make the league lively this coming season. We should be able to banter here every week with updates from the league.

I suggest you don't drop the code for every tom and jerry to join, rather via mail to active participants only.

Unfortunately he will be extending visa under the new study visa conditions which means the bolded is likely.ย Are dependants visas expiring about the same time he re-sits?

Not just any COS o .. . Wife needs to find a sponsor that will cover not just her but with her dependants.

Justkme:

Thank you. Not that he wants to settle, but he has 2 resits due to plagiarism which means he wonโ€™t be able to finish by sept this year (he came in last year sept). So to do his capstone, he will need a visa extension but the issue is, someone said he may be the only person that will be given the extension since no dependants are allowed as from this year, so his family may not be able to cross to PSW visa after the extension.
The dependants are here already, and we hope the wife will get COS, but we are looking at other options just in case COS doesnโ€™t come out.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by Bourne007(m): 9:50pm On Jun 24
I'm afraid they don't qualify. Why would you want to settle for PGD?

One of the exceptions is if your profession (course) falls under the reserved activities that is regulated by UK law.

Justkme:
Please if a masters student decide to settle for PGD instead, do they qualify for PSW with their dependants?

Interest-only can seem affordable but capital isn't shrinking. Repayment works out for me even though I'm paying more on a ltd co.

jedisco:

Is this BTL?
If it is, is it repayment or interest only? Also personal or via ltd co?

My main considerations are the yield and margin between mortgage and rent. Around me, for basic BTL (i.e non-HMOs etc) it's about 4-5%.
Travel / Re: Living In The UK: Property,Mortgage And Related by Bourne007(m): 9:12am On May 31
Recently got a fixed rate of 4.66% for a period of 60 months, Duration of the loan: 35 years with TML. Hope this helps

jedisco:
Congrats @ Santa2.

I'm wondering if anyone here is involved in BTLs. Mention if you have. I'm in the south and running some numbers but things are look steep with the current mortgage rates. I'm not keen at fixing for 5 years at this rate. Want to get some nuance and see what the average margin is.

I remember someone (deept I think) once mentioned a Nigerian in UK investment thread or something similar. It would be worth knowing what proper investment/income generating opportunities there are in both our homes (9ja and UK) moreso ones that are also suited to our demography. I've heard of folks who buy written off cars and fix and sell for a profit, also Nigerian stores e.t.c.

Not just africans LOL but all migrants who have no recourse to public funds are not entitled.

America001:
Hi Zahra29 et al

I need clarification please.

I have a child who's 1 year and half. I'm currently working full time. I tried enrolling her for the free 15 hours childcare for children between 9 months and 2 years but was told I wasn't eligible because I'm not entitled to public funds.

Does it mean all African migrants don't automatically qualify for this scheme by the government?

To add to what's said, best bet is to return home. As you've overstayed, keep in mind that this comes with a re-entry ban. If you leave now at your own expense, it's a 12-month ban allowing you to re-strategise and re-enter in a year's time.

All the best.

Good day house pls I need advice for my family friend who is here in the UK with her husband, she needs help from us/ advice/ suggestions. The home office has written to them to leave the UK, because their student route was not successful after the hubby failed on several occasions. Before their visa expired this year January, the lady tried looking for sponsorship, unfortunately she did not get, so a lawyer adviced they apply for PSW on the ground that her hubby will repeat and pass the exams, which they quickly did, but he failed it again and home office refused the application. We are so confused now. They are now overstayers. She is trying to seek asylum. please have anybody gone through this process OR you know any one that has gone through this asylum. Some pple advised to seek asylum in Ireland. Can anybody help us with a good lawyer that can assist. She doesn't have a job now.

Going back home is not the best solution now. pls help we are confused now. Not easy on them. Thank u.

Yes you read it right. Not sure if you are relying on the refund but even if you withdraw (which I wouldn't advise due to expiry on 29th), refund would take up to 28 days.

Graduate visas usually take up to 8 weeks for a decision so will suggest you vary your application as soon as you can and hopefully will get a refund as stated on the guidance.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/vary-your-immigration-application

Trendytessy:
Hi everyone,

I already applied for a dรฉpendant graduate visa and yet to receive a decision. I currently have a COS for skilled work visa. can I vary the application or I have to withdraw the previous one that hasnโ€™t been decided yet (2weeks now)? Student visa expires 29th and COS just came in today.

I read on uk website that one can vary but will need to pay the new fees and then get a refund.

Also can I apply with WAEC/proof of English as English ability or itโ€™s compulsory to use the ecctis website to evaluate degree from Nigeria?

Any advice is welcomed!

It's advisable you put all your sisters regardless of status as long as they are resident. Putting them all has no impact on your application but may however affect future applications if you decide to go with one sister.

It's not an issue commuting from Liverpool to Chester. Though you will be asked where you will stay but no separate evidence of accommodation. This is part of your Maintenance | financial requirements.

Chimama1:
Please guru in the house, please help urgently. I am filling my student form. I have 3 sisters in the uk but I kept only one sister name. Is it okay I put only one sister? Because she is the only one with british citizen for now. The other two have indefinite leave to remain and it shows " refugee settlement ".

Again my school is at Chester and my accommodation is at Liverpool. Hope it won't be an issue? I will be staying with my sister at Liverpool. Third question, will I be showing any evidence of accommodation with my sister?

Pre Jan 2024 the main Student visa applicant planning on bringing child(ren) to the UK, both parents must also be coming. I don't know and can't confirm if it's still applicable. If it's still the rule, then your kids can't apply. Do you checks before proceeding.

As our aunty said, maybe it's worth exploring other countries.

GraceofGod100:

You can use as evidence as it falls under the 'certificates of deposit' account.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/financial-evidence-for-student-and-child-student-route-applicants

Blackshaid:
Good Morning Everyone.

Please I would love to know if a treasury bill can be used as part of proof of funds for both CAS and Visa applications respectively? The treasury bill matures in August. The larger portion of the POF is in a regular bank account but the rest is what was used for the treasury stuff. So I just want to know if I can use the treasury bill as part of my POF while I submit the treasury bill certificate and document to back up my claim that it will actually mature in August.

I would love to hear from you all
Thank you.

It's not mandatory you use Aviva as broker is working on getting his/her commission. You can always compare the market and go for a better deal.

@Lexusgs430, please kindly explain in details ๐Ÿ™, for more understanding. What's the difference? Please throw more light. The one Aviva is offering is actually a life insurance policy.

OP is actually referring to university application and not Visa application. While the former is debatable, the latter isn't.

Yes, that's correct .. . prorated over the zero interest period.

Charges are typically 3% to 5% so it's within

Mamatukwas:
Quick question my people. The transfer fee your charged for a balance transfer card is prorated over the zero interest period yes? Not charged up front?

Also is 3- 3.9% transfer fee charge too high?

Once visa is cancelled, you will usually have 60 days to leave the country (unless stated on the letter issued). And last time I checked แป, It takes 9 months to be a baby mama ๐Ÿค” if you wan go that route.

As it's a study route, it's now a requirement to complete one's course before switching visas.

Your only option. ... You should plan to leave the UK as soon as you can. Apply for a new category from naija, and return with a clean record rather than overstaying.

All the best.

All the best

Jennex:
Please what advice can you give in this scenario. A lady came to the UK with student visa and a dependent but could not meet up with the fee and the visa has been cancelled. She doesn't plan on going back what are her options. Baby mama is one option but then again giving birth can be quite expensive as there won't be nhs funding. Plus 7 years no be child's play o. Though that the only option that seems viable since marrying a citizen is not that easy.
