For those who recently took or in the process of a mortgage / remortgaging and with the likely increase of bank rate to 4.50 in May, what interest rates did you get / are getting? Shei na to gamble on two / five years or even tracker 😁?

The law is the law and they are simple and clear to all regardless of nationality. You can't breach the law and be running hectare scatter!

The Chinese, Koreans and Co. get loans from their government to come and study. In this UK financial crisis how do you want to cope if you are handling your accommodation, transport and other fees if you are doing just 20 hours, especially if you are staying in London or Manchester.

We as Nigerians, we are hardworking and if the job is there we will do it and make our money to survive.

The funny thing is that most employers are not even happy with this 20 hours rule, because they are looking for workers but they are limited because of this 20 hours rule.

I met a British man one time that was complaining about how most of their citizens don't want to come out to work anymore, they'd rather work from home instead. He said in his city, shops and the mall closes by 4pm because they don't have people to employ for evening shifts and what he appreciate about Nigerians is that they are always willing to work.

If you had watched UK border force, anyone can breach the Immigration rules regardless of nationality 👀

Yeh I'm sure the Indians do it too however their immigrant community also largely does not have a great image. You don't hear of Australian, American or even Chinese students breaking rules in the same way

By adding a cover letter, he is basically adding more salt to his wounds. The breach happened on a student visa so doesn’t matter if na care or psw.

Just apply as normal and hope it's undetected.

please my friend unfortunately had to work more than 20 hours because the bills were too much and he’s also the first child of the family so he had to pay siblings school fees and take care of his family back home in Nigeria.

He only started Working 34 hours after lectures was over and they were writing dissertation as he had exhausted every savings so needed money badly, It’s time for psw but he’s scared of doing the Visa because he doesn’t want to be caught and deported.

I’ve told him to try his luck and see what happens but he’s saying he doesn’t want to risk it, please is there any way for him to explain to the VO maybe in a cover letter or something else why he had to work those hours,

is it a bit better that he started working past 20 hours after lectures but during dissertation writing, can he also get a care sponsorship job as it is 2 months before the expiration of his visa and he’s been trying for weeks to get a care job but no luck.

Please don’t ignore as all advise are welcomed and my friend is very depressed now, we are trying to help but scared he might unalive himself because the financial pressure of going back to Nigeria might be too much.

Since you are voluntarily leaving the country at your own expense, based on the guidance this will (ideally) impose a 12-month re-entry ban. 'Ideally' in the sense that if you have breached more than one immigration law, the breach that has the longest period (up to 10 years) will be imposed. Once you leave, your chances are higher when you apply for a spouse visa on the 13th month (if a 12-month ban).

During your application, you need to emphasise this clearly that under paragraph 9.8.7 of the Immigration rules part 9, you left voluntarily at your own expense. Some of the agents don't understand the rules and can do whatever.

If you apply in-country, dem go frustrate you die so tey most of your funds will go through appeals / re-applications. If you apply out-country during the ban (with or without a solicitor), the chances are slim (can go either way). If ban is longer than 12 months, you will have to go through the appeal process to eventually be successful.

I will start by writing them back stating that you have looked up the government website and it's clearly states that a Section 21 notice to evict a tenant is after a fixed term tenancy ends. And as you have a contract in place, by law there's no point waiting till mid May. You can say you are currently getting legal advice and would leave you no choice but to take legal action if however they insists further you cover bills for the month of May.

You definitely need to fill in the details as required whether you are the one driving or not.

You should have National Speed Awareness course as an alternative to prosecution. If you do, I will advise you go for this otherwise your car insurance go jump if given points.

CoS is just like CAS. Do you know how many applicants wey go miss out if it actually takes 18 weeks 😁?

I've gotten CoS within a day or 2. The company even applied for licence ọ and got rejected 2ce so I suspect JJC dey worry them 🙂

1) Correct me if I misunderstood your question but how else do you want to get a work visa without paying. If you happen to be on a Tier 2, you might be fortunate the employer covers all the cost

Hello good people of the house. So after several considerations, I have decided to go with MMU. Still trying to get GTbank to process my Form A for school deposit.
I have 2 questions bothering my mind though

1) After my masters degree, Is there any other fee/fees that I am supposed to pay to get a work visa?
2) For the masters degree, how many years visa do we get? Can we stay in the UK throughout the duration of the visa without stepping out? How do we extend the visa after/before the expiration of the visa. We don't want to stay illegally in the UK at all.

I'm in the market now, and for a fresh immigrant, this is not as easy. In fact, most offer 25% if you've been here less than 2 years.

Some lenders offer 5% deposit if you wanna explore that option.

As a new immigrant without a 25% deposit or Tier 2 visa and a willing lender, you go spend money on housing and that one too na service and that one too go go as well. It is what it is. Overthinking all that one no worth am.

Undergrads can only if the student is financially sponsored by a government or international org that lasts longer than 6 months. @CamelCase if you fall under this category

I mean a family of 4 for example, main applicant and spouse appplies in march and children apply in april all their visas are expiring in may, does it mean they would be refused? EFCC shaa .. . It's not money laundered or financial fraud. If truly the guy received the money, 'The man' genuinely received the money from the sender (uni).

Unfortunately Police would not be able to help as the are not a debt recovering agency and franckly speaking most of those guys are just you know "Olopas"

If truly the guy received the money and claimed he didn't receive it then its on the borderline of financial crime which is EFCC jurisdiction, your best approach is to file a report with EFCC.

In a sane bank, it can't work as it will be against data protection which all naija banks now adhere to. Didn't you know 'The man' before you used him to process funds? Not sure how much police fit get involved but this is more of a civil case so better politely speak with 'this man' and reason with him.

thank you, the school wont pay to my account because money did not come out from my account. I do not want to go the police way without any evidence that he has the money in his account so as not to look stupid but j am sure the money would have been there. If i could get someone from heritage bank to help me with the confirmation through his bank account history i will be so happy because this man is disrupting my other plans
