Degis: What I don't like is when somebody decides to read a post and decides to take a part that suits him to begin to rant and rain on. You clearly read where I said Brabus should make concessions to the Client in order to move forward, so why rant on the previous mistakes Brabus made, I don't know Brabus neither do I know the Client but I detest a situation where someone sees only challenges but no solutionObviously, there's no smoke without fire. Concession was made but was there any improvement at all? Maybe or maybe not! I thank everyone who contributed on this thread for your support and kind words. I've always believed and maintain this simple policy in life that when things go wrong I shouldnt go with it. May we all reap the fruit of our labour!!! |
I left the site early today and wasn't able to get the final pictures of today's work. I promise to do that first thing tomorrow.

Starting on the upper level The upper floor will pretty much follow the same procedure that we used for the ground floor. All sections at the moment are almost at 6 coaches high. We plan to engage more guys tomorrow so that we can raise the Chateau to lintel level. It seems my client want to keep me here forever as the responsibilities keeps growing every day. |
With a very fair weather and clear atmosphere, the upper floor block work commences shortly. We'll do what we need to do before Thursday so that we can go an join other Muslim faithfuls to celebrate Ramadan break. |
Good evening big brodas. |

The Chateau - Project Update This project sit on a plot of about one and half acres and we also need to undertake a number of other works on the land. One of such project is the construction of a spill way for a large drain that runs underneath the land taking water run off from the hills behind the property to the stream. We will also install another drain that will handle surface water drainage and rain water run-off from the roof of the house. Meanwhile, we will bringing in heavy machineries very soon to commence the landscaping of the Chateau and other ground works. |
mufutau55: On strike? What are they demanding for? Good road to the Chateau?I'm sure they've had more than enough in a very short time. As can be seen, accessibility is not an issue again on this project. I'm sure they don eat belle full. I'm miles ahead in my preparations so I'm not bothered even if there's dusk-to-dawn curfew from tomorrow. Actor no dey die for film!

The slab still stay wet as at this morning. The effect of the curing is easily noticeable. Block for the upper floor section are coming in now. I'm giving a day off for guys to cool off while work resume tomorrow. However, there are little jigs happening today. Picture update later |
spyder880: Congratulations! Good job bro. Thanks Bro. The ministry is moving! ![]() |
Our projects may be diverse but the results are one and the same—on schedule, on budget, with superior quality and safe. It's a certainty you can count on. |
StainlessH: Good job sir.Shoot me an email. I've got some job for you. If the pricing is fair, you have it. |
It's 30 days since we broke ground!

The Chateau - Cost Update The Chateau cost is now almost double the cost of what we used to do foundation of the PH project. Full breakdown at the end of the project. |
mufutau55: The method is very good... I have to commend you on the job well done.Once a day depending on the volume of water. But I've discovered that the water will find its way off the slab through the edges of the slab once poured so spraying with water is not as effective as this method. Edit - Take note that the essence of spraying or sprinkling water on the slab is to maintain an adequate moisture content and temperature in concrete. So, if the water you sprayed couldn't stay on the slab, then its as good as sheer waste of time as H2O can evaporate |
This young guys are teenagers with high spirit and full of energy. They are the ones responsible for the forms of this slab. Isn't it amazing? They are 11, 17, 19 years old guys from Cotonou. No leakage whatsoever, No panic! Neat work!!
